    Dry drunken noodles
    George E.

In Denver for a long weekend and meeting one of our twin's friends, who recently moved to Denver. Hey Bangkok is a small, quaint restaurant in a local neighborhood. Parking is a real challenge. The restaurant is small, perhaps serving 30 people. They have a loyal following and a good take-away service. We were quickly seated. We ordered the fried vegetable rolls with dipping sauce, pad Thai and drunken noodle with chicken and medium spice. The food arrived quickly and was hot. The vegetable rolls were flavorful, hot and accompanied with a good dipping. The pad Thai was colorful, bland and lacked flavor. The drunken noodles had a scant amount of sauce and were dry. To be honest, Hey Bangkok is a quick Thai haunt. They have a loyal following and good take-away service. The food is reasonably priced and fulfills a certain spot in the Denver dining scene. I don't feel the need to return to Hey Bangkok. They are not trying to be something they are not, a quick take-away dining option. Over the years,I have found that my taste is for more bold flavors and sauces.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and if you're dining in it's pretty much seat yourself when you walk in, if you're doing takeout, you can walk up and order at the counter! I was greeted immediately and given water and a menu, and ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. The menu is small but the selection seemed to have a good variety of choices. The food came out within 5 minutes of me sitting down and the portion size was great! There were a good amount of toppings and they did not skimp on the amount of shrimp either! Not a mind blowing dish but a very warm hearty meal which is exactly what I was craving! Overall, service was great, the restaurant was clean, and I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area!

    The #7 with chicken

I dropped in on a whim and the store was empty accept myself, which says to me this place is criminally underrated. Friendly owners recommended the #7, which I got. Super yummy and perfectly filling for lunch. The interior is super cool. All in all this is a great hang out or quick lunch.

A simple menu, fast service, and great for takeout. The food is ready in record time and the quality is consistent. My drunken noodles could have had more flavor and spice to them, but the Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup got great reviews.

Great neighborhood quick dinner or lunch spot, with cool vibes and flavorful food. We had pad thai and drunken noodles and both were outstanding. Friendly service.

Hey Bangkok is more than a fast casual spot, but not so fancy that you can't walk in, grab a table, and be out the door within 30ish minutes. A cool Thai restaurant located on the corner of Alameda and Pennsylvania, this is a great place to stop in or order takeout. I went with my usual drunken noodles order, and these are some of the best I've had in Denver. The noodles are fresh and there is plenty of minced chicken. The spice here is serious! (Yet still delicious).

After a day of snow tubing in Frisco, I needed something savory and hot to warm up my insides. And what better way to bring in some heat than with Thai food? Sadly, Frisco didn't have much to offer in that arena, so we headed back home to check this place out. I love the atmosphere and decor at Hey Bangkok! It felt like sitting in a sidewalk cafe in Bangkok, truly. Our server immediately greeted us and asked us to sit anywhere. He graciously brought water and menus, and not even 10 minutes went by before taking our order. Before I knew it, I was munching on the veggie rolls. With the sauce, it was a great way to start the meal. And these were NOT frozen. Perfect! My Pad Thai soon arrived and was hot off the pan. It was perfectly portioned, with just the right amount of sprouts, carrots, and green onion for my personal taste. The noodles were chewy and delicious. The chicken was fresh and cooked well. I have no complaints. I inhaled it after enjoying the first few bites! My son ordered the chicken platter, and I had a bite of that, and WHOA. It's definitely worth ordering next time. His chicken platter came with a side salad; I just can't recall which one it was. It was delicious but maybe a bit too overly dressed. I imagine combining it with the rice would've cut down on the powerfulness of the dressing, but it was still very fresh and tasty. With this kind of quality and service, I'm absolutely coming back the next time a Pad Thai craving hits.

I've never had a problem eating here as someone with celiac. Their menu items are well labeled and staff knowledgable. I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant for a casual week day lunch or a stop off on my Saturday errands with friends, but would go elsewhere if I was looking for a nicer evening out. Prices are typical for Denver dining.

We got here as this place opened and there was no one in the restuarant. Its a smaller restuarant and started to fill up as we were finishing up with our food. Service was good to start because we were the only table. There was only one server taking orders and serving food so when the restuarant got busier we had to wait to get boxes and our check, but the server was very nice and let us know that she may be a minute. The menu is not super big so it was't overwhelming and super easy to decide what to get. We ordered the chicken pad thai, chicken pad gra pow, and tom kha soup. We ordered the hot on a level of mild, medium, hot, extra hot. The tom kha soup was really good! It had lots of veggies in it and had a good coconut flavor and sourness of the classic tom kha. Not the most sour tom kha I have had, but I think it was well balanced. The pad thai that we ordered "hot" was not spicy at all. I had to put a lot of chili flakes in it to get to the level of spicy I wanted so I would reccommend getting extra hot if you like spicy food. Their pad thai is on the sweeter side so if you like that then you will really like the pad thai. Lots of oil was leftover on the plate that the pad thai came in. LOTS of oil. The pad kra paw was pretty standard as well and came with an egg. The ambiance of this place is more quick casual vibes and they have a very convenient to go window on the outside of the restuarant. I would come back here if in the area, but I would not go out of my way to get food from here.

There has been a recent boom in Thai restaurants all over Denver and I am here for it! The restaurant does a really good job of cultivating a spot ideal to grab some Thai food while also having a business lunch. It is clear that the wait staff was trained to handle those kinds of customers very well. It is also just loud enough in there to not be awkward in between conversation but quiet enough to easily hear the person across from you. Just for that, I don't hesitate to bring my customers here. With that said, their lunch special is at a very reasonable price and the portions are such that you won't be falling asleep at your desk after lunch. The dinner prices are, in my opinion, very inflated. The food itself is pretty good. The appetizers leave a lot to be desired but the entrees are good and close enough to being authentic. I'm a big fan of their true Thai spice levels. If you haven't had Thai food or are unaware of the Thai spice levels, please start with mild or ask the wait staff to explain. I will be visiting more in the future for my business lunches!

So pleased in fact that I often got a craving and today I finally got the chance to satisfy that craving. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, I could tell at first glance that the duck portion was anemic. It looked dried out and shriveled up and pathetically small. In retrospect, I should've told the server it was not acceptable, but my general tendency is to not make a big issue about it and carry on. However, not only was the portion compromise, but also the taste. On top of the food deficiency, I sat at the bar, and when I sat down and looked down the bar, half of the chairs had rips, tears, and or duct tape, and this made me wonder what deficiencies or issues might exist in the kitchen, given the neglect of those items. I was extremely disappointed, my craving for what I had experienced previously is it delicious meal was unfulfilled, and my general tendency in these situations is not go back to such an establishment and risk disappointment again. After all, we all know the phrase fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I like to see businesses in general and especially restaurant succeed, and I hope the owners will take these comments into account so they don't join the growing list of restaurants that are closing in Denver. Listening to customers is an excellent business strategy. I would consider my first meal here of five star experience but regrettably this one has charitably been given to stars. Cook should know when they have an item that even a casual glance is subpar not to serve it. Cooking skill is one thing. Judgment and discernment are also important skills. If you wouldn't serve it to your best friend or close relative, don't serve it to a customer.
