Finally tried Swing Thai on Colorado Blvd for lunch and it was awesome! The food was delicious--the Pad Thai had a great kick to it and the mango sticky rice was the perfect way to end the meal. My friends all loved their food too, especially the peanut curry. The service was definitely the highlight. Our server Eddy was so nice and took great care of us. He was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It's always great to have a server who's actually friendly and on top of things! Also, having a parking lot right next to the building makes it so much easier to visit. This is definitely going to be my new regular Thai spot since it's close to home. I have been coming to Swing Thai for over 20 years and the Pad Thai is still so delicious as well as there Coconut Lemon Grass Soup with added noodles (I love mine medium hot). I also love their Fresh Spring Roll with tofu and my partner loves their Steamed Dumplings. Even though the atmosphere is not upscale they hit the charts with service and flavorful authentic Thai food. I tried this place based on a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately, it did not live up to that recommendation at all. I ordered the tofu summer roll and shrimp pad Thai. The tofu summer roll had a hard, dried out and inedible rice paper wrapper. I had to cut it open to eat the contents inside. The pad Thai tasted okay but not great. I ordered medium and it was drenched in chili sauce and had barely any peanuts on it. I couldn't even eat the shrimp because they tasted very fishy and I didn't want to risk getting sick :( read more

I had been craving Tom Kha soup so I decided to stop into Swing Thai to fix my cravings. Swing Thai is located just off of Colorado Blvd near Colfax ave. Parking lot is a little small and used for other businesses however don't let that turn you away because the food is amazing. I stopped in at 1pm on a Sunday. There was only 2 other parties dining in at the time but I still didn't let that worry me. Staff sat me immediately and cared and took my order right away. I ordered 2 things. Tom Kha w/ chicken (medium spice level) The Tom Kha soup is one of my all time favorite soups. Filled with mushrooms, cilantro, lemongrass and chicken. Medium spice level was not too spicy at all. I have a decent spice tolerance and this was very manageable. Has the nose running but typical with spice. This bowl was everything I needed. Such a rich flavorful coconut broth to warm you up on a nice cold day. Pad Gra Pow w/ Chicken (medium spice level) Pad Gra pow may look like a simple dish but it's packed with a punch of flavor. The minced chicken had nice sizing to pair well with the rice. The fried egg on top of the rice gave the perfect yolk to combine with the rice. Again, medium spice level was bearable for me and kept the nose running but nothing over whelming. This restaurant deserves a better crowd at this time of day. Maybe it was just the day I chose but I still back my statement. Thai food is a lot more than just a Pad Thai and I recommend you try out Swing Thai and the other dishes they have to offer!! read more

Visiting friends in Denver and all of us are fans of good Thai food so this was their choice for dinner. Limited parking onsite but we did find a spot pretty easily. We were greeted and seated immediately. Suitable socially distanced indoor dining; so happy to find that. We started off with appetizers- the fried vegetable rolls served with a sweet Thai sauce on the side and a few bowls of the lemongrass soup (Tom Yum) with chicken. My buddy ordered his extra hot and I ordered it medium. We enjoyed the appetizers immensely. The soup is extra lemony so if you like lemons you'll love this soup. For entrees we had the green curry (Bamboo, Basil, Eggplant and Bell Pepper) the Massaman Curry ( Potato, Yellow Onion and Whole Peanuts) and the Swing Special (Mixed Veggies and Cashew with Garlic Sauce) with chicken. My friends reported their curries were delicious and I very much enjoyed my Swing Special. It had lots of seared vegetables and the sauce wasn't very sweet. Each dish was served with rice and they brought more when asked. Service was excellent, staying on top of beverages, extra napkins and anything else we might have needed. The decor is typical Thai, though a bit dated. I especially liked the lit up puffer fish hanging from the ceiling, that was a unique touch. Overall a very good experience. Great service and good portions! The spice level could be spicier, but it was still a good kick. Crab Rangoon - Chessy, crispy and the sauce was delicious. Lamb Massaman - Great coconut flavors and the lamb was perfect. They will give you extra rice if needed. Tofu Pad Thai - Noodles were great and the flavors were tasty. I ordered the massaman curry mild spice and it was not at all a rich, flavorful curry base. I'm so sad I have to write this but I believe in full disclosure. We planned a double date day with our friends. We hadn't been to swing Thai in a couple years due to... (you guessed it). We looked forward to enjoying the lunch with friends. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly woman. The gentleman who took us to our table (we were the first to be seated upon opening) showed us the table. After about 2 min he asked abruptly if we were ready to order. We politely asked for more time. He seemed highly irritated to the point our friend made a comment about how he seemed to be upset we didn't order. From there on it was downhill. He came back and took our order and seemed anything we asked for was a chore. Our friend ordered beef pad Thai. After we received our meals he was told they were out of beef ‍. So we were served our meals at 3 separate times. We were never talked to again. Mind you there were only 2 other tables of guests at this point. No water refills. Our friend had to get up and get us extra napkins because the server never returned to help us. It's sad when customer service has hit an all time low. Needless to say after 15+ years of supporting this restaurant I don't think we will be returning. read more

The Pad Thai was just okay. I was more disappointed in the staff's hurried attitude. We arrived at 8:15 on a Friday and were told the place would stop serving at 9. Every booth was full, and diners arrived after we did, but the staff kept hurrying us along, taking dishes almost before we were finished without asking, hovering and fussing, and rushing the payment. I felt unwelcome and couldn't enjoy the meal or the wine. This early shut down seems like an annoying Denver thing, cowtown and chintzy. If a restaurant wants to close completely at 9, which is ridiculous on a weekend anyway, it should stop admitting diners after 8. But if it claims to be open until 9, it means they serve people who arrive at 8:55 and let them eat at their leisure. read more

We ordered takeout tonight and the pad Thai was noodles with some protein of our choice. There was a very scant smattering of bean sprouts and an equally small amount of scallions. Not a single vegetable. We also ordered crab cheese wontons (we wanted Tod mun, but apparently they don't offer the fish cakes); the wontons were kind of chewy with not very much filling. In the app it indicated that there would be bamboo, peppers, and bok choy. I was excited about this; I like all of thos things. But the curry only had shrimp, onions, two chunks of (pretty) potatoes, and a good amount of whole peanuts, so I was disappointed about the missing veggies.
