We were very impressed with both the food and service here. I ordered the Pad Thai Woon Sen and Hubby got the Pad Thai, both with Tofu. The portions were huge (will be both lunch and dinner for us!) and the pad Thai had the perfect amount of tang. While visiting a friend in Denver this past weekend & in need of a filling dinner after a day of hiking we chose to eat at Swing Thai. The restaurant was not crowded at all when we got there around 8- we had our pick of seats. Swing Thai has booths and tables, and has a big open front window that I'm sure lets a lot of light in during the day. Halfway through our meal we noticed that the hanging overhead lights were actually puffer-fish! I ordered vegetable pad see ew "hot" on the scale of hotness- (mild, medium, hot, and thai hot) and it was delicious, if not a little on the greasy side. My friends had the chicken pad thai "medium hot" which they enjoyed as well. Each dish has a lot of food though- two people could definitely split a dish if you don't want to take home leftovers. Our waitress was very sweet and came to check on us throughout our meal; however she didn't ask how we wanted to split the bill. When we asked her if she could divide the single check into separate checks, she gladly did so- but it wasn't correct. After a few back-and-forths of this, (we should have just split it equally and forgotten it) we finally had the correct checks, paid, and grabbed a mint on the way out. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with Swing Thai and am feeling sheepish for poo pooing it as a dining option all these years. My husband and I dined in at the Colorado location early on a Saturday night. It was quiet but not in a bad way. There was also some smooth jazz playing which really made us feel like early birds. You can't really see it well from the outside but this location has a pretty cool Thai island bar with fun cocktails, blowfish lights and bamboo accents. That won my husband over right away, he's a sucker for anything tiki. Food wise, we had drinks, fried wontons, special yellow curry and pineapple rice. We scarfed down everything within 10 minutes. Fried rice was probably the star dish, but everything else was tasty. Service is fine and food comes out fast. I know they do a lot of takeout/delivery orders, which is great when you don't want to leave the house. But if it's a nice night and you are craving Thai food, go IRL. It's good! read more

I've heard the buzz about Swing Thai for years now, but I've always had a go-to Thai restaurant... Until a couple years ago when they changed ownership. I was left without a place to get my Pad Thai and Thai Iced Teas'. Until today! The Atmosphere: I love the decor they use around the restaurant. The bamboo stalks along the walls give such a cool look, especially mixed with the brick of the adjacent business. I also love the Thailand mural on the back wall and the sphere lighting in nets! The Food: Really good! I feel bad that I put off coming here for sooo long! My Pad Thai (medium spice) was perfect. Great flavor and not too spicy. The Thai Iced Tea was easily one of the best I've had! I've never liked when Thai restaurants put tons of bean sprouts and peanuts on their Pad Thai, but here at Swing Thai they do it right! Perfect ratios of chicken, to noodle, to toppings. The Service: I showed up within fifteen minutes of their opening so it was by no means busy. I was seated quickly and my meal came out just a promptly too. However, I did have a longer than usual wait for my check at the end of the meal. Had I been there on a lunch break or with a pressing engagement after, I may have been a bit frustrated. The Cost: Totally reasonable for what you get! The plate seems small when it arrives at your table, however that is Pad Thai's best deception. After you start eating you realize you've barley made a dent and you're almost full! Awesome! Anywhere I can get a tasty lunch for under $20 is a-okay in my book! Now that I know what I've been missing all these years, I have some lost time to make up for here at Swing Thai. So if you'll excuse me, I need to go stuff my face with copious amounts of Pad Thai and wash it down with gallons of Thai Iced Tea!! **Caution: The parking situation is a little crazy! Sometimes you make a decision based on location, location, location. I just left the Denver VA (which is all of 1 minute away from this establishment) hungry as I hadn't yet had lunch. 3pm, I acknowledge is an awkward time of day for a meal but I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating they were. I fully expect most places to be closed or service to be slow at this awkward not lunch and definitely not dinner time but not Swing Thai. I like things spicy, as my nickname suggests, so I asked the server if I was able to order dishes made hotter- they accommodated! I ordered the Pad Prik King with chicken (with the spice level upped to extra hot) and it knocked my socks off. It was served with a bowl of rice, which made it more scrumptious as I could soak up the spicy sauce with the white rice (brown is also available for you heathens who prefer it). Ordered takeout yesterday afternoon around 3:30 pm. Had to drive 30 minutes back home. The food was ready when we arrived to pick it up and packaged in nice plastic containers with a tied plastic bag around each to prevent any spilling. I really appreciated the bamboo walls and the neat blowfish lighting. The service was very good as well. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She was also really good about understanding and checking on my friend's nut allergy. In terms of the food, we started with a tofu fresh spring roll. The peanut sauce and ingredients inside the roll were quite fresh. I especially appreciated that the tofu was marinated. I was however pretty disappointed with the rice paper wrapping, as it had a hard, rubbery texture suggesting Our main entrees were quite good. Got all the way home to discover that my Pad Thai was mostly a bunch of noodles and a few chicken pieces with one tiny wedge of lime. Hardly any sauce. No egg or veggies. Hardly any green onion. My Tom Kha had way too much oil, had no lemongrass, and it was mostly greasy broth with a few chunks of chicken in it. For this I paid $26 (tip included) I will say that the service was quick, but no wonder. There was no effort on part of the kitchen. Management needs to step up and have a talk with kitchen staff about quality of product, or they'll continue to lose clients like me. read more

I can't get enough of those unique flavor profiles. I use to travel to Denver on business 10 years ago and this was always my go to place to eat. I wish they would open a location in Dallas, TX. Service is as always helpful and friendly. I love the bamboo throw back jungle motif, it makes the atmosphere and experience unique. Not just another cookie cutter chain restaurant. I have been looking for affordable and tasty Thai food in Denver. And the best part is that it's only 10 min away from home. When I entered the restaurant I totally noticed the cute small desks in front of the window that appeared to be the waiting area for pick up orders. I also noticed immediately the pretty lit bar to the left of the entrance. The low lighting and glows from the blowfish hanging lamps really created an ambience for the place. AAddItionally, the wall art in the restaurant was beautiful and even caught my 5 year old daughter's eye. She said it was very beautiful. This would a great date night spot or casual-nice dinner place with the family. Tonight I ordered the vegetable fried rice at the medium spice level. It was loaded with crunchy veggies such as red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers and carrots. The spice had some heat even at medium, so I balanced it out with some plain jasmine rice. Stopped into Swing Thai because it's right next door to one of our favorite taprooms (Congress Park). We came on a Thursday afternoon and there were maybe 3 others parties in the whole restaurant and it took more than 10 minutes for someone to come over to us after we'd been seated... But once we ordered the food came out fast and the crab and cheese wontons were probably the best I've ever had. I was disappointed the drunken noodles were pretty bland even though I asked for "hot". I will definitely come back to Swing if I need crab cheese wontons to-go. read more

It was 90% clumped noodles, without a single bean sprout, had two pieces of tofu and maybe 6 pieces of vegetables. Also struggled to find any hint of peanuts.
