We ate here the other night, and it was incredible! The food, the service and the ambiance were all excellent!

I have only eaten here one time for dinner. They had a wonderful seafood cioppino for 2 - very flavorful broth and fresh seafood including halibut. Yummy! It was served with 4 slices (per person) of crispy toasted baguette. Great for sopping up the leftover sauce. ($60 for 2) We also shared a generous Caesar salad. Our friends did the same for their meal. The dressing was tasty. We also shared a generous plate of fries . I thought they were so-so, but my husband loved 'em. Now, dessert was not so good, hence only 4 stars. It was a flourless chocolate torte. It was so overcooked you could not cut it with your fork, as one would expect with such a dish. We just picked it up and bit off a bite. Flavorful, but dried out and hard. The server comped it. I suggested that it not be served to anyone else! read more

Always so good! Restaurant is clean, food is great quality, and staff is top notch! Sunny is personable, attentive and a great conversationalist! We arrived at 4 PM- maybe 1st customer for dinner(they open at 3:30). Despite being the only customers in the restaurant our drinks took quite some time to arrive. They were delicious & well -crafted when we got them however. Service was lackluster & slow, but not rude. Appetizer was the broiled oysters, delicious and fresh. We ordered the tomahawk steak (165.00) and the beef tenderloin. Hands down the tenderloin was far better than the tomahawk! The tomahawk was oddly lacking in flavor & chewy (ordered med-rare). There was a lot of fat as well. The tenderloin, on the other hand was exquisite- perfect crust with lovely sauce and melt-in-your-mouth texture. All of the sides were very good & paired well with the main. I would go back, but never order the tomahawk steak- much better offerings on the menu at reasonable prices. A more experienced/seasoned staff would improve the dining experience as well. Overall I recommend this restaurant! The vibe in Springfield is less hectic than Eugene so it's nice change of pace. read more

We were driving through on the way to Tigard recently and needed to eat so we picked this hoping for the best. The ambiance had an unassuming vibe (the his/hers bathroom with plywood doors had its own unique vibe) with a large bar and the Mrs Bonds Vesper was unique and really good so I would recommend it for drinks but the food was a little dicey. The oysters had too much debris so we had to avoid the juice, the salad was composed of only lettuce and fennel (boring), and some of the clams served hadn't fully opened (risky). Service was just okay. If we were local we wouldn't go back :(. read more

The place is just stunning. The service was pretty decent. The food was good, but not astounding. I only tried the Nashville hot fried chicken for lunch it was a bit watery and sort of fell apart. It's classy, aesthetic and has such a good vibe. The food definitely takes on the same attributes. I don't think there's a single item I've tried that I didn't love and they often switch out the menu allowing you to continually try new things! Although the restaurant is beautiful decorated in art deco style, unfortunately the food was less than exciting. The bone marrow and the bread rolls with herb butter were the yummiest things in the menu that actually tasted like it had seasoning. It went downhill from there. The Caesar salad was the worst I've ever had! Seriously B.A.D. Someone in the kitchen must have messed up the dressing recipe or forgot to season it, because it was bland, bland, blah. The bolognese pasta dish also lacked seasoning. The noods were a bit too Al dente for me and well, it was just blah, blah, bland. This is my favorite restaurant in Eugene/Springfield right now! Hell, my favorite restaurant period! I came in here a few weeks ago and was greeted by some incredibly kind staff and seated at the bar. I chatted it up with the bartenders as they whipped up some amazing concoctions! I love the Margaritas and the Old Fashion's are unreal! Right now they have a smoked Painkiller and it's what's happening this Friday after work! My first visit I went with the Tomohawk steak. It was a rather filling, great tasting steak that makes any male feel incredibly Alpha. I mean, who doesn't get those primal feels while gnawing on a bone!? My next visit I had the Steak Frites, although I subbed mashed taters for the fries. It. Was. Delicious. The steak was topped with Gremolata and it complemented everything so well. I paired the dinner with a delicious red blend from Portugal and I was incredibly happy with the wine as well. Main St. Springfield is not what it used to be. The businesses on this street are hoppin most of the time and there's so much new fresh stuff. Tavern On Main is no exception. Such a cute place with a vintage bougie vibe. The menu isn't large which is great because it allows the staff to do the things on the menu really well. Everything is just a bit elevated from the norm. We have been there for dinner with another couple and I have done brunch with the girls and both times the service was excellent and the food and drinks were great as well. I would advise reservations if you are hoping to come in for dinner. Seating is somewhat limited and they do get busy. read more

Ok this place is pretty cool and definitely a nice addition to downtown Springfield. It was slammed even on a Tuesday night. The menu is definitely on the pricier side but that is what they are going for. As someone else said the portions are on the smaller side which I don't mind but for the price it does feel a little lacking. I got the fish and chips and they were very good, both the house made strawberry ketchup and the tarter sauce were delicious. If you're a cider drinker be ready to take the one option that they have, this week it was a cyderish mango cider that was pretty good, I'm not sure if they change what they have for cider or not. A fun new place for a night out in Eugene, the cocktails and fries were great, the tavern burger was tasty too. We've also visited for brunch and loved their crab cake benedict and chicken and waffles. The coffee cocktails were phenomenal, very creative. The tart oat had a wonderful cherry flavor and was very complex. We saw many dishes passing by that looked great, especially the lemon ricotta pancakes. I cannot underscore how kind and conscientious the service was. The servers were kind, gracious and expressed gratitude in all they did. It was a great experience for a mid-day date for me and the spouse. I had the fig and burrata salad along with their daily soup. The dishes were amply sized, very well composed, with fresh, clean ingredients and left me feeling great. The restaurant does NOT do gluten free very successfully and they are HONEST about that. Kudos to them. Though I imagine if they pushed themselves they could get there without much fuss. The decor and atmosphere was pleasant, attracting younger professionals and also older folks who wanted a nicer meal. Very nice, straightforward northwest cuisine. I would be happy to eat here again, especially if I wanted something that was classy without being stuffy. I want to come back and see how they fare with their cocktails. read more

The fresh oysters were good. The cooked miso oysters were so-so. A little tough and I just think I prefer the fresh oysters. My rhubarb mocktail was good. The tiramisu was good. The fries were good. Others in my party were not happy with their food and service, but I was happy with my food and service. The server kept touching everyone's shoulders and that really upset everyone else. She didn't touch me, but I understand how everyone else was upset by it. One of my friends ordered the bone marrow and said it was much different and not as good as the last time she ordered it. Very disappointing for her. My other friend ordered a different mocktail on the menu and I tried it and it was honestly not good. I cannot remember the name of that mocktail, but I did like my rhubarb one. One member of our party sent her steak back, saying it was cold. They did fix it quickly. The server also completely forgot one of our party's order until everyone's stuff had been brought out. She did apologize and get it out quickly, but that one person at our table had to wait quite a while for their food because the server forgot her. The server seemed to be having an "off" day. It's a five star restaurant and the food and drink are first rate and deserve a five star rating! amazing ! . The only thing that triggers less than five star rating in our opinion is simply one waitress named Kasen. We have been here numerous times and all the other white staff and owners have been first right and five star but this one just seems to be in a hurry and wants to go home and doesn't belong here in my opinion.. When you go to a nice restaurant you don't want to be rushed through the menu or rush to order or rushed to eat and even when our dishes were picked up, food was slopped on the table and covered our personal belongings without even an apology. Go try the restaurant and I'm sure you will enjoy it and hopefully you will get another waitress! If you don't, I suggest you move to another table. read more
