I had such a great time, I never knew they had a Tavern in the Square in Dedham. But it's definitely a chill and cool spot. I only went for drinks but it was a great time, they have TVs lots of seating and I love the ambiance. Shout out to Darrian. He is so funny, polite, and kind. Tavern In The Square Dedham opened in the former Joe's American Bar & Grill on US 1 Southbound at 95/128. The place was redone, which features a spacious bar area with a long rectangular bar with seating and TVs on all sides, high top tables along the windows, and small booths along the back wall. There's also a regular dining section with tables and booths and more TVs. This location offers a food menu with burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, small plates, appetizers, wings, and main entrees (steak, chicken, seafood, pasta) and a kids menu. The bar offers around 30 beers on tap, wine, sparkling wine, mixed drinks, and cocktails.  I stopped by TSQ (that's their chosen acronym and not the other one, lol) in Dedham to watch Sunday football.  I got here about 25 minutes before kickoff time of several games and found an open seat up at the bar. They have NFL Sunday Ticket here, but the sound is amped up if the Patriots are playing. Before Covid, I used to hang with my buddy at another TSQ location in Northborough (no longer TSQ) to catch Sunday football, where they had an excellent Sunday brunch buffet and good bloody marys. However, this location just opened last week and it was regular menu only (no brunch menu, yet) at the time of this posting. As I sat down, a bartender gave me a menu and took my drink order (I got an ice water). I've enjoyed their Smokin' Tots, Bayou Chicken Pasta, and Fish & Chips at other TSQ locations which I would recommend.  On this visit in Dedham, I ordered a Turkey Burger ($17 plus tax) with Fries which came out in 10 minutes. This thick burger was stacked with a grilled soft ground turkey patty, brie, sweet caramelized onions, green apple slices and watercress on a soft toasted bun. The golden fries were salted and crispy. After I finished the burger and fries, I placed an order for the Bang Bang Broccoli ($13 plus tax), served in 10 minutes. However, this small plate was not the best choice since the breading around the broccoli was soft & mushy coated in a spicy sweet chili garlic sauce, scallions The bang bang broccoli could've been crispier and a creamy dip would've gone well with this app. The service from the bartender was attentive and my ice water was topped off several times, which is much appreciated to wash down the sweet, salty snd spicy aftertaste. I finished my app and then requested the check to cash out before halftime. The check was $32.10 with tax and before tip and I used some old gift cards up too. Overall, the food I had was decent and I was able to watch 4 different games from my seat. The service was spot on at the busy bar, so I will definitely round up. read more

There is a massive facility at Town Square Tavern, I was shocked when I arrived here. The drink selection is outstanding and it feels like their bar goes on for miles! I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. I asked for medium well, but it tasted pretty burnt. Other than that, I enjoyed the burger aside from the edges. The fries were okay, I didn't really like them, but they were fine. The servers here were attentive, kind, and quick. We were seated quickly and when we asked to move to another free table, they let us. There are tons of tvs around the bar as well. It was not expensive, pretty mid I would say. The bathrooms here were fine, I liked them but nothing too special. read more

Went on a Friday night. Lively restaurant. 10 TV's with sports on. Fodd was a mixed bag. Ordered Guacc & chips & not only was the guacc a very small portion (not nearly enough for tge chips served) but was virtually tasteless. No kick/flavor...nada. Entrees - I had the Rigatoni Bolognese which was EXCELLENT. My partner had a Pico burger. Burger was good but do NOT get the gluten free bun. Fries were also excellent. Every time I go by here the parking lot is always full. I love how on a nice day you can eat and the windows are completely open. The service and atmosphere are great! I got the chicken Korean crispy sandwich and it was really overdone with too much Korean bottled sauce coated on the chicken so I could not taste the pickles. And the Cole slaw was missing. Nice drink selections with non alcoholic choices. Most people love this place, as far as the food I'll need to come back again and try something different. read more

We were so happy hosting our baby shower at Tavern in the Square Dedham! Beginning with the planning process, our contact Hannah was extremely responsive and helpful in providing information on the space, availability, menus, and pricing (which, in our opinion, was extremely reasonable--bonus that there is no room fee!). The day of, our event went off without a hitch. Waitstaff were incredibly attentive and ready to grab drinks and clear empty dishes. The food was perfectly timed, beginning with apps before dropping the mains and dessert. And, of course, it was all delicious! The space itself felt very private (despite only having a curtain to separate us from the main dining room) and had just the right amount of space to seat our 30 guests, plus room for a gift table and place to take photos. It was cozy without being overcrowded. Overall, we'd highly recommend TSQ for any hosted event, whether it's a baby/bridal shower or birthday. They went above and beyond to make sure everything exceeded expectations, and thanks in large part to them, our shower was a huge success! Thanks a million. :) read more

Arrived around 7 pm Sunday Dec 22, had reservation for 715. Server Michelle was very slow in taking food order, 2 burgers, which took 45 minutes to arrive!! Fortunately we ordered guacamole, which was over chunky, to tide us over. Since my partner has celiac, Tavern has been our 'go to' but slow service at both Dedham and Littleton, and kitchen delay issues, are very concerning. As is being surrounded by uncleared tables 25 minutes after customers have left!! I hope that they are not resting on their laurels, but they are slipping fast and need to evaluate and do more 'secret shopping' by consultants. read more

First time visit on a Saturday and it was really busy, we ended up waiting maybe 30 min. Ordered the steak tips and mash, the flavor was missing, not much to say, but the drinks were good. We had the best waiter which in my eyes although the food was just ok, it just elevated the experience. Second visit, on a Saturday as well and busy. Ordered the Bayou Cajun pasta, a big disappointment, I was stirring to see if the flavor was on the bottom nope. There's no hint of spice, flavor, I took three bites and I was done. I would skip this dish. The drinks again where good. The waiter was so distracted we had to wait in between ordering, even for a straw, never offered or received water, she forgot and we ended up waiting a lot to pay. I wanted to get up and get checked out with someone else. A good waiter definitely makes the difference. I would give it another but maybe stick to something simple. read more

This place is amazing. Probably the biggest bar I've ever seen. At least 100 seats. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I went during brunch on a Sunday and had an amazing spicy Bloody Mary, Nashville chicken sandwich and tater tots. The food is hot and delicious. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable. Good lighting. Mostly booths. I think the menu needs more substantial choices. It's Mostly sandwiches, bowls, salads and appetizers. I'd like to see maybe Prime Rib, lamb chops, meatloaf. 3 of my friends got the fish and chips and just loved them. Panko crusted. Great fries. All in all a great, affordable place to eat and have drinks. I'll be back soon. read more

1. They didn't ask if we'd mind sitting in the bar for lunch but just seated us in the extremely noisy bar area. We then asked to be in the restaurant area and they took us all the way in back to eat near the restrooms and into the additional seating in the back area as we passed perfectly good booths and seating in the main restaurant. 2. I ordered a gluten free burger and ice tea. The burger came on a bun and that crumbled as I was eating it and had an up charge. Hey folks other restaurants do better! I can go to Burtons and have a great burger and not have the bun crumble. Seriously. Change vendors, grill the bun, it was ridiculous. One tiny piece of lettuce, one of slice of tomato, one small slice of cheese that didn't even cover the burger. Really sad. The burger itself was good and the tater tots were good. 3. The ice tea was from a new batch but tasted totally watered down. Gross. Wait staff person changed it out once but clearly since he said it was a new batch it was just the iced tea itself. We live in New Wilmington and watched the Tavern being rebuilt from the ground up. Mat and Maggie put their hart and soul into the project and it turned out perfect in every way. Very busy-service is slow on two occasions now-we bowl entrées are OK-however I would not recommend the fish and chips. The breading on the fish is more like a heavy breadcrumb like substance not battered - the fries were cold and slightly hard, but the coleslaw was warm, likely from heating the plate. This chain has inaccurate labeling on their menus. They label things vegetarian and vegan that are not. The "Goddess Garden Burger the sweet potato burger is fries in the fryer. No they don't have a separate vegan fryer. (Forget about why do they need to dry so much) So you can also write off other items labeled as vegan Buffalo Cauliflower, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Big Bang Broccoli. Basically nothing on their menu can be trusted to be vegan or vegetarian due to cross contamination that isn't even unintentional. read more

Tavern in the Square-Dedham, MA: The food was good, but during our stay my credit cards and driver's license were stolen. I filed a police report and I waited for the restaurant's management to provide the security video footage to the police. Almost 3 weeks later, I was told that the video was "overwritten" and the police were closing my case since they can't identify the suspect without any video. Management handled this very poorly. The manager told me the day after this incident that he downloaded our entire stay from the previous night and that he had flagged it for the incoming manager. All this leads us to wonder if the suspect was even a customer! Very disappointing! read more

i've been twice now. the food is meh. i got the bayou chicken pasta and it wasn't spicy or blackened it was just grilled chicken which is unfortunate because louisiana inspired cuisine is phenomenal but this was really just chicken and pasta and cheese . the jalapeños were few and far between so it didn't really have spice either. both times i got the smoking tots which are delicious but lacking in the chorizo department. there's a sprinkling of chorizos which is a drag because it really enhances the whole dish when you do get a bite of it. you just have to go searching for where it is. the service both times was good although i have an id from out of state so be aware you do need to present two forms- which again is a hassle because who carries two forms? it's not like my passport comes regularly anywhere with me unless im international. it's lively in there, but very drafty and cold given the large glass windows. i would imagine it's nice to have them open in the summer but in the winter turning up the heat would be ideal for your patrons. read more

I went here for my brother's birthday, and it was a complete mess. Most importantly, one of my party members has some allergies and intolerances, so they asked for some modifications for their entree. Immediately afterwards, the party member let me know that they were feeling bloated and sick, which makes me think that they didn't make any of the modifications she asked for. As for the other stuff, there was a whole party/function happening next to us, and the only separator was a thin curtain, so the entire time I was unable to hear anything. Second, when it came to drinks, the server spilled a bit of my drink when she was walking over, and didn't bother cleaning it off or anything when she gave it to me. I ended up getting a bit of a very dark beer on my white shirt, and it's going to stain. The appetizers weren't bad, just some basic nachos with chicken, fried pickles, and chicken tenders with their bang bang sauce. But the entrees were the worst part. Two of the entrees were steak, one of them steak tips and the other a steak salad, and both of them were burnt black. My burger was overcooked and dry as well. Finally, everyone who went with us has let me know that immediately after they got home, they had to rush to the bathroom, so I think there might have been something off with the food. read more
