I'm just going to put it lightly. Hands down, the best oysters I've ever eaten. The ocean was in my mouth. The caviar was so fresh you can literally see the baby salmon IN the egg sacks still swimming about, and the horseradish essence gave it a VERY refreshing kick! The sea urchin and foei gras combo were bites of heaven. Problem is, the bill is already at $110. But they gave us free fries cause I used my Yelp Review coupon so it's okay lol. We also ate the delicious mussels in red sauce and it was amazing! The overall dining area is the coziest so far. Everyone was respectful, quiet and our waitress was the absolute sweetest. We finished off with the crème brûlée and we're 100% satisfied with everything. Expensive, yes, quality through the roof however!!!!! I was looking forward to the egg on egg on egg appetizer along with the squid ink fettuccine with lobster. I have been looking forward to this all week. I was unsure of the squid ink fettuccine as I didn't see it on the online menu, but did see it on menu photos. I didn't call ahead to ask because what I really wanted was the egg on egg on egg and was OK with not having the fettuccine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told the menu had mostly changed and those items were no longer available. Reluctantly, I ordered the oysters on a half shell with the supplemental Uni and salmon roe along with the lobster risotto. They were both delicious. The oysters were plump, firm, and fresh and the risotto was cooked to perfection. My husband was not happy with having to order the $30 Wagyu burger since there was no other option for him to choose from. (he had his heart set on the duck with foie gras, which is no longer available either. That would've been my second choice after the fettuccine.) He said the burger was pretty good, it was well cooked and the fries were delicious. We also got another order of fries on the house for the Yelp check in and a sangria on the house for a positive Google review. Overall, the food was really really good. Where do we even begin? The ambiance and decor of the restaurant/bar was unique. Across from where we sat, we noticed vinyl covers, books, and old clocks, which gave it a blast-from-the-past vibe. Also above us were antlers of different animals as well as a taxidermy deer. We had a reservation at 6 pm and were told that it was happy hour, so we ordered the $8 half a dozen oysters. Then, we ordered one Wagyu burger and one tavern157 burger, both medium rare. The orders also came with fries and pickles. The oysters were delicious and came with different sauces and add-ons. Both burgers were great and juicy; the tavern burger's bacon was exquisite, while the truffle oil from the Wagyu burger made it unique. The fries were very flavorful and a great side dish. In addition, the service and wait staff were extremely attentive. Overall, we would definitely go back and try their steaks and other happy hour menu items. read more

Tavern 157 has my highest recommendation for drinks around the area. This review is based off a couple visits. Tavern 157 is a low-key tavern in flushing that's perfect for catching up with friends or dates. As you can see from the pictures I've posted, there's a ton of exposed brick. It looks amazing in there. Lots of wood and antiques. There's conventional seating inside, and also some seats and tables at the sides, which are kind of elevated and kind of "within" the walls? It's hard to explain, and I wish I could have taken a picture. Anyway, the service here is amazing. Drinks came out fast. The server was really nice. My friends and I were here for almost 3-4 hours and we were never rushed out or felt like we were taking up space. The drinks are also really good. I forgot what the names were, but I got the peach bubble drink which tasted sweet and like a peach sunrise. My friends ordered other drinks and said only good things about them. I came for dinner. I ordered happy hour oysters (half off) and $5 sangria. For dinner we ordered the braised short rib with bone marrow, crab cakes and tavern burger with truffle fries. The crab cakes were okay, but they were super tiny, literally size of a silver dollar; an order came with two pieces. The braised short ribs were so good, but the truffle mash potatoes that came with the dish was AMAZING. We ended up ordering more truffle mash. Service was nice and attentive, but it was also a slow week night. I brought my daughter and she liked the decor. She was intrigued by the hanging deer. My friend and I of course had to be extra and order the peach bubble cocktail which was stunning. The presentation definitely won on this one. I thought it was super good, mostly tasted like juice but those are usually the sneaky ones and I did kind of feel it after a bit. As for starters, we shared the burrata which also came on top of guacamole which is interesting- super refreshing and tasty only wish they served some kind of bread or chips on the side with it. We really wanted to try the popcorn chicken but they had actually ran out so we ordered the lollipop chicken wings instead and they were incredible!! The sauce is definitely on the mouth burning spicy side, but I loved it. I have never had bone marrow so I was intrigued to try it out with the braised short rib and truffle mashed potatoes. It was probably one of the best dinner plates I've had in awhile and I literally cleaned the plate so that's when you know. The bone marrow was buttery and delicious and the short rib was amazing and flavorful. My boyfriend and our other friend got the NY strip steak and they said it was really good too. Now entrees are definitely on the pricey side so I probably wouldn't be here every weekend but for a once in a while treat yourself dinner, this place is perfect. read more

An American-style tavern in the heart of KBBQ country on Northern? When my wife told me this place was good, I thought she must've hit her head. I decided to indulge her and came with her for dinner and I must say, I'm just a lot better off when I listen to her. The menu here isn't large but the offerings are pretty eclectic. Pasta, burgers, steaks and seafood can all be found. Appetizers were good - lollipop wings were very good (ginger soy sauce glaze on crispy wings) and the oyster with uni was a hit. Popcorn chicken was Taiwanese style but not as flavorful so I'd pass on that. As for entrees, the wagyu burger was incredibly good. Juicy and cooked to perfection, their homemade ketchup was a perfect tangy complement. Lobster pasta was also really good and they gave a sizeable amount of lobster to boot. Service is very good, decor is relaxing and hip. Prices are just ok as they're probably a tad high for pub fare but the quality of the food makes up for it. Thumbs up. read more

Odd and random spot for this kind of restaurant...Lots of Korean influenced flavors with an American and European twist. Decor is very nice and unique in a good way. Came here for a bridal shower and they did a fantastic job of attending to the guests needs and such. Only 2 servers on hand plus a tropical storm happening outside, maybe service would have been different if they had an influx of regular customers as the shower was happening. But still, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Only a couple of things I was meh about. Their lollipop chicken drumlette app was just ok. I was told that in the past it came with a cauliflower mash of sort but our server said they discontinued that. There was no dipping sauce or anything to accompany it nor veggie wise either. Plus the lollipops weren't squished down enough to resemble said lollipop. But I digress... Hope to be back here again soon. read more

All their drinks were amazing - my favorite were the passion fruit marg and the Blood orange mojito. The tavern burger comes with two thick and juicy Pattie's. The tomahawk was not worth the $158 we paid for it. My sister had the duck and sat it was over cooked but otherwise it was good. Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's friend's graduation and they reserved a large section of the restaurant. What first stood out to me was the great decorations they had. It was so creative and there was something different to look at in every corner. I especially liked how they had different type of empty wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. As an appetizer, we tried their lolipop chicken which was a sweet spicy sauce and was delicious. The texture of the wings were perfect and crunchy. Their cheese balls were also very tasty and warm. Their Cesar salad was nothing out of the ordinary. As an entree, we tried their lobster with shrimp and seafood spaghetti. The lobster was a bit dry but did have good flavor. It would have been nice to have a side of butter and garlic to dip the lobster and shrimp in. It came with a couple of pieces of asparagus and corn which had amazing flavor. The seafood spaghetti was filled with delicious mussels and shrimp. The actual pasta itself lacked flavor, was not very impressive and could have used a bit more sauce and salt. The dessert was my absolute favorite part of the whole meal. The creme brûlée was creamy and sweet, the caramelized top was a nice touch. The chocolate lava cake with the caramel ice-cream was exquisite. The lava cake was moist and warm and paired perfectly with the ice-cream. The taxidermy decor in the restaurant appears a little eccentric for Queens/NYC, but at the same time, I wasn't surprised. My boyfriend and I ordered the seafood spaghetti and the lollipop chicken wings. The seafood spaghetti was creamy and good. And it contained a generous amount of not only pasta, but also seafood. Oh, Tavern. I have visited you on so, so many nights! This is a great neighborhood bar/restaurant, love the way everything is set up & I feel very comfortable here. I'm in love with this specific Cabernet & they usually have it for Happy Hour but even if they didn't the price is super reasonable for a bottle. Also, their wine glasses are so sleek and beautiful sometimes I crave just to drink from them more than the wine I'm actually drinking. Crazy, right? Oysters are great, burger is pretty good, love the flavor of the seafood pasta especially the one I had last night. Popcorn chicken is always a good little snack if you're mostly here for drinking but need something to munch on. It's clean, staff is very polite although service is much better at or near the bar. 4 stars because their cheese & charcuterie board was so lacking it was borderline upsetting, especially for $18. Jam and prosciutto was good but everything else was terrible especially the stale ass crackers & one was a sweet biscuit. Why would you even put that on there?? Cheddar was also stale.
