Great all-around experience with these guys. First of all, dealing with James has been very pleasant and reliable. He calls when he says he will, follows up when he promises, and the instructions he passed to his crew when it came to the work that had to be done were exactly in line with what we talked about after his initial inspection. I would seriously hold off on using Taurus Termite. I recently purchased a home where Taurus was used for the termite inspection and was selected by the seller. During the inspection, they found some dry wood termites and dry rot towards the front of the home. They fixed it and we thought we were in the clear. Guess what....we were wrong! Two months after living in our home we saw a small hole on the wall and guess where it was located...towards the front of the home. I literally see a termite come in and out of the hole disposing wood particles and pasting it around the hole. I then called Taurus to come out and reassess my termite situation and their only recommendation was to treat the area. After treating the area they threw out a disclosure that this was considered a new occurrence even though it was obvious that they didn't treat or inspect it further enough that may have warranted a tenting of the home instead. Just seems like they didn't want to claim any liability and if I remember correctly a termite completion report guarantees up to one year that the home is clear of termites. I might look into it further with the state board. read more

I was referred to Brian Robinson at Taurus Termite by our friend and Realtor. We have a small house in the Belmont Shore area and with so many termite folks, I wasn't sure who to contact. Brian met me right on time and and explained everything in detail in regard to our temite issue. We had noticed droppings in the living room. After an inspection of the entire house, he felt spot treating was the best way to go. He didn't try to up sell me on a tenting or sign me up for a maintenance program. I probably asked him more questions than most folks and followed him around the entire time he was doing the inspection. He couldn't have been more kind and helpful. When his crew returned to complete the work, I was at the house as the work was being done. They showed me exactly what they were doing and explained things as they went along. I never had the feeling they were in a rush to get to the next job. Very happy! This was 5 months ago. The day before yesterday our tenant contacted me and said they'd seen some droppings fall from the ceiling in the same place we'd had treated. I was a little surprised and contacted Brian. He returned my call the same day and was out the next day. Come to find out, the termites were not in the same area he had spot treated but he went ahead and treated this new area at no charge. When you have rental properties, it's important to build up a base of folks you know you can call as problems arise. Trust is something I value a lot when hiring people. I've been very fortunate to have a great group of folks who I can call....up to now I didn't have a need for a termite person....but now, I have one. WIsh i could give less than 1 star for the extremely poor customer service my clients have received from this company. As a Realtor, I attempt to refer only the best vendors to my clients; however, the selling agent, with all good intentions, referred this company to my clients. Termite repairs intially estimated by Brian, who I understand is one of the owners, to be finished prior to close of escrow ( 5 days). The workers did not show up the first day, and Brian was far more concerned about what "might have happened to them" than the fact that my buyers were now behind schedule on their closing. The next day they showed up, as did I; when I questioned what had happened they day before, two independant employees of Taurus indicated they had not been on the schedule for the previous day. When I questioned Brian about this, he told me they would not have said that, and that I must be lying. The tile vendor who Taurus uses was supposedly scheduled for same week; when we contacted him, he indicated that he was on vacation, and that Brian had not contacted him for the job. Now.....another week delay. When I contacted Brian, he proceeded to question why I was so upset that someone took a vacation.....really?!?!? We are now 3 weeks from the week prior to close of escrow and work is still on-going. The couple have been in their home for over 2-1/2 weeks withno shower, and for 48 hours, no toilet. The wife is 6-1/2 months pregnant. They have had to pay $40 a day just to use the shower at their old apartment. I spoke with the very "pleasant" (please note sarcasm) who answers the phone last Thursday about the situation, and told her I would not speak with Brian any longer as his customer services was absolutely unacceptable; she promised to have the "other" owner call me first thing Friday morning....its Monday night, and no response. I can only guess that she did not like my attitude, which was, of course, pretty ugly at this point. I left her another message today telling her not to be surprised at my poor Yelp review....and she called me back this afternoon "returning my call".....seriously inept staff, horrible customer service and attitudes inconsistent with any that a normal person would accept. read more

You guys are simply the best. When we bought our home in Brea, the previous owners had let the termites run wild. The termite inspection during escrow must have been done by a blind person. We ended up with years of frustration and expense as every year more damage was found and more work was needed...even after tenting twice in 6 years (and so much wood damage). I can't remember how I ran across Jim and the outstanding crew from Taurus, I think God just had mercy on me. Jim worked with us and did several repairs at a fair price...got us on a maintenance plan and we finally have peace of mind. The guys who come out (I'm sorry I am so bad with names- but you know who they are) go so far above and beyond doing little repairs and treatments before they get out of control again. They inform and give great advice on little things I can do to help myself...like little repairs to cracks in wood before water damage starts. The guys could not be more friendly, helpful and professional. When my daughter and her husband bought a home in Brea, I referred them to Taurus and will refer anyone I can as you are the best. These guys are jokers. Last year they termited my house. I paid extra to have an old satellite dish taken off roof. Well they just ripped it off and left metal,piece still screwed into the house. What don't they understand? They also bent my wind vein and said they fixed it. I am tired after complaining 5 times. I have to buy my own new vain. They are also cheap. They were very tight with special bags to put you food and made it impossible to get more. I lost a lot which should of been saved. The bags were so tight they broke and let the termite treatment penetrate the food items. Cthis was note good job in Los Alamitos. read more

Under no circumstances should you let this person work on your home. I was told by my buying agent he was an expert at repairs on my classic Rancho Home in the Cliff May neighborhood of Long Beach. While I believe he has worked on them many times, the quality of his work is not acceptable. 1) Roofing now cracked - Many places where repairs were made lead to a cracked roof and now expensive repairs on my end 2) Improper fitting wood replacement - In areas where wood was replaced (tongue and groove roofing) it was not done properly causing roof leaks 3) Major wood replacement / Beams - My house has beams with rot. They replaced the ends as they should, but did not nail / fasten them properly and now the are falling off 4) Subterranean Termites - Wanted to drill through my slab in my closet to treat termites because lifting up a few pavers on the outside of the house seemed like too much work. Also, missed the sub termites in the garage, I had to point them out to him. 5) Communication - Too boot, his a total Jerk and will yell at you before answering your questions when you find his mistakes. I would not recommend Taurus termite to anyone. The fumigation crew did not know how to handle the details of the fumigation forms, did not have the forms ready in spite of my calling frequently and asking them if everything was running as planned. The fumigation had to be postponed several times due to their lack of ability to handle the paperwork or details. This ended up costing me several weeks when I could not move in to the house. I contacted another company and they handled everything very professionally without any issues and the cost was actually much less. read more

I have used Taurus Termite since 1998 as a Real Estate Professional and personally. I don't even know how many times they have done work for my transaction. Plus, they have done my own home. Also, I referred them to a very large pharmaceutical company located in San Diego that had gotten a bid from another termite company that had bid the job at an absolutely ridiculous amount something like $36,000 and the company would have to shut down and dismantle all equipment. This would have been prohibitive for them. Taurus bid the job, told them it was not and infestation, but a very localized area and they treated it on a weekend with no harmful effects to the equipment or the operation of the business. read more

By far the very best company to handle termites in your home!! The entire experience from the inspection to the tenting went so much better than we expected!! We didn't double bag all of our food prior to their arrival and the crew actually did it for us!! I had no idea what was involved with having your house tented, Taurus literally handed everything for us. I honestly couldn't believe how inexpensive having your house tented was, I expected it to cost double or triple what we paid, I don't know how they can do this so cheap!!! If you're looking for an affordable, knowledgeable and experienced company, look no further, you aren't going to find with anyone else! After reading some of the negative comments above, I felt compelled to post.....my guess is that the few negative comments must be from competitors or from fake accounts because there is zero possibility that they were customers, the one complaining about the driving of an employee takes the cake, seems like a stalker!! I'm a r/e broker and have done business since 1980. That said, I would recommend this company over all others that I've had contact with over the years. I recently had a transaction on a 4 unit building in Belmont Heights. The building was built in 1926 and the owner lived on the East Coast and this building had been neglected for many years. Taurus was called, by the listing agent, to inspect this building and the separate double garage. It was in worse condition than I thought from looking at it, but that's why we get inspections, right? It took about 7 weeks and $22,220 to remove and replace all the termite infested wood in these two buildings and thankfully, in those days they used redwood or cedar on the joists and jams at the concrete "raised" foundations. Adrian supervised and worked on this building making sure all corrections were done correctly and the painting of the new wood was properly done. I know........ because I watched most of the work done, as I don't trust contractors. I give my highest marks to Adrian, and to James who runs the company. Since that time, I've used James to make inspections on two properties, and both times he came up with "All Clear," and issued a Clearance Cert for the lenders. read more

He provided excellent follow up and scheduling with the repair crew prior to actual tenting.
