I had my move scheduled for the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. I received a call early from Corey indicating that the truck that was scheduled for my move encountered an unforeseen mechanical issue, which caused me some dismay. He apologized profusely, but indicated the delay would be a slight one and he would have me covered and moved according to my schedule that day. As promised, Corey came through an hour and a half later with two other guys when they arrived at my place. Mechanical issues are bound to happen, so there is no fault in Taurus Moving for that; but they can control what happens next. Here, Corey was courteous, sympathetic and professional and he clearly understood how important it was for me to get my items moved to my new home. Corey kept me advised, (he called me twice just to update me) and he made sure I knew what was going to happen next and the timeline. Before I knew it Corey and two others were at my house and they took good care of me. I was moved into my new home by Noon. I heartedly endorse Taurus Moving. They really came through for me! I had this Company move my Family the end of July 2011. The owner at first was a great help to my family and allowed me to pay half in cash and the remainder by check, which was great. However that was the end of anything considered positive. He sent 3 guys that complained about the move and was certain as they walked in only 1 room of my home that it was to a 8hr job, when I was quoted half that. Long story short 9hrs later after they had milked the clock all they could. We began to beg the movers to finish getting our belongings off of the moving truck, as everything was just being unloaded into our garage the entire day except the large items such as sofas and TVs that they reluctantly place in the house. Our cream colored sofa has a large black greasy hand print (that we can't get out) on it. The day had dragged on so long because the pace they had set from the beginning. My youngest son even had to overhear one of the movers say " This is Bullsh*t". It took well over 90 minutes for the drive between houses which is normal about 20 minuet drive. The 3 of the movers had several instances where they were in our garage on their cell phones. The entire 9 hours our entire family helped by moving boxes to the driveway as a staging area. Prior to the movers' arrival we had everything Taken apart (Beds, ECT) and placed in 2 rooms, but it still did not speed up the process at all! It got so bad about 5 hours in that it was oblivious by the way they were loading the Box truck with all the unused space they left. That they were also going to try to get the move to take longer with excess trips having to be made between the homes. So to speed up the process, as a last resort we went and got a flatbed trailer and packed that up ourselves. I was very upset by this point because I had requested for 3 movers and a VERY large truck, and 9+hours later and they want to charge $800.00 (which is NOT at all reasonable for what they did, let alone the damage cost I incurred that day) so I paid $200.00 in cash the day of the move hoping we could speak to the owner about the blatant milking of time during the move and the damages caused by his movers. They didn't even bring hardly anything in the house let alone assemble anything; we had to do 2 loads on our own. We felt horrible on our moving day we were up that day from 5:00am to 10:00pm and was exhausted. I thought the reason you hire movers is to lessen the emotional and Physical strain of moving rather than doing it yourself. As they unloaded the moving truck boxes were dropped which as you can see from his email below, the owner blames our packing. (Even though we used bubble wrap on anything breakable and also we marked FRAGILE clearly visible on all boxes that were breakable) It could not possibly be his movers poor handling and complete disregard of our items, one of my large decorative trees was knocked over and the setting it was in knocked loose and all the topping in the pot spilled onto the sidewalk and not one of the movers attempted to pick it up, my sons had too. As we began to notice damages throughout the day like the sofa we called and talked to DAVE the owner and he had completely dismissed us. So after this horrific day we called Dave again about the damages still no concern if we even got a response. I did not receive a decent response until I had to place a stop -pay on the remainder of the payment for the move. At that point it seems I had gotten Dave's attention in a negative way because not only did he write the email in regards to the pictures of our damages that I have included below, but threatened the file criminal charges for writing a bad check and for theft of services. When we could have solved this situation civilly or through small claims and I was fine with either. Throughout all of this it got so bad that the owner even called my wife a Bit*h and began calling me that my family " White Tra*h! " type of racial slurs. I'm just hoping to keep someone's family from having to do business with someone like this; I wish I could have known..... See his email... Taurus Moving get my moving done very quickly but they are not as good as the previous vendor i used 2 years back per my opinion. The Bad: 1) They did not wrap ALL my furniture. Only by selectively. Furniture were unwrapped before moving up to stair at destination house. 2) I only request 4 movers but end up 5 movers were coming. I am fine with this but Taurus moving should have informed me earlier. Because they were too many people for little stuffs, some guys did not have much work and just standing around and wait for others. The good: 1) They finish moving within 2.5 hours! Previous vendor i used spent about 4 hours for the same amount of furniture with 3 people. Of course the extra time spent was on ensure all the furniture were wrapped accordingly. read more

I found Taurus on Groupon and they had a lot of great reviews so thought I would give them a try. I unfortunately seem to be moving every two years or so and I have not had good experiences with Uhaul helpers, etc, the last two times. Although the online request for a quote did not get a response, a quick phone call got everything set up. My move was only two days out, and they were very accommodating. They arrived within the estimated time window. When they came in they reviewed how much stuff was moving and estimated about 4 hours because I was on a second floors with only stairs and moving to a 4th floor with an elevator (a slow one) and all the way at the end of the building. However Corey, Brandon, Luis and Mone were super efficient, open and friendly and got everything done in less than 3 hours. They even moved some other furniture out for me that wasnt going in the move. I would definitely recommend Taurus and they will be my first call next time. Thank you guys! read more

Despite a scheduling error, we had an awesome experience with Taurus Moving. They told us they would arrive this morning between 7 and 7:30. 8:30 rolled around and we finally got ahold of David (owner) who said there was a scheduling error and they had us booked for tomorrow. David put a crew together within 20 minutes and we got started at about 10:00! We had 4 stops before our final destination. I was very pleased with the service I received from Taurus! The guys were very nice and they were very quick! I had to have a treadmill and elliptical moved up the stairs and they were able to get it up there with very little problem. Also, they were way earlier than anticipated and I appreciated that they called to let me know instead of standing me up and deciding it wasn't worth their time. I also had them move everything out of my garage. I was pretty nervous that they were going to take there sweet time so they could charge more, but there as none of that. That they did!! I really wanted to leave a good review and have waited some time to leave this to see if I could get my problems resolved. I chose this company because the guy on the phone was so friendly and professional and their deal (was it Angie's List?) put them lower cost than the other guy whose reviews had them at the top of my list. They were on time the day of the move-in fact early. Their guys were nice enough. They, however, asked for a ziplock where they placed (I'm assuming) ALL the hardware from the items needing disassembling and it never resurfaced. We kept thinking they must have placed it somewhere sensible and we would soon find it. However, with boxes enough for 5600 square feet of house, it takes a few days to gather your senses and find anything lost. It was never found and the house is fully unpacked. We had to spend time at Lowe's finding new pieces instead. I did have to make a special hour round trip to IKEA to get their proprietary pegs for a bookcase. It seems that the pegs were not removed from any of the bookcases- most just fell out in moving. I've never had movers before- I assumed they would do these things for you. The most upsetting thing, however, is the large oak table leaf that went missing. We have moved states several times and never misplaced screws, pegs or table leaves but I kept thinking it would turn up. Did I put it in storage despite trying never to put solid wood in storage? Nope. I had a hard time getting them to answer phone calls. They don't have a dedicated phone answerer it seems. My messages haven't been returned. I did finally get through and he was so courteous and apologized and said they would look into it right away and also that they thought they had my table leaf and took my address and said they'd drop it off in the next couple of days but this didn't happen and still trying to get hold of him to make an insurance claim. The table was passed down to us and is a 10 person table. UPDATE: I was trying to contact Taurus again today but the phone went to voicemail and their mailbox was full. Busy week? After posting to Yelp, I got a call right away and he made an appointment to come by 2 hours later and show me the only table leaves he knows of. Neither were the right one so the mystery remains to be solved but he paid me for our troubles with having to seek out assembly hardware for other furniture so that issue is resolved. Hopefully, the leaf will yet be found by some miracle, but at least, if you can get hold of them, the men are very easy to talk to and sincere. When the table leaf issue is resolved, I would be happy to change my review. Good fellows though. read more

I purchased a Groupon for 2.5 hours with three guys and was very satisfied. They showed up on time and all three were very friendly, professional, and hard working. Cody was super nice and was great with my kids too! We weren't as prepared as we should have been but they helped us get the last of our stuff out of the way in no time. We moved from a four bedroom, two bathroom house and ended up going about 4 hours over our groupon but about an hour of the time was because we weren't fully prepared. None of our furniture was damaged and they asked where I wanted everything instead of just piling it in the house like other places I have used. The full price rate was around what most places charge but I would choose this company above any other based on the friendliness and the fact that they worked hard the entire time! read more

We hired Taurus moving company off of Groupon for a 2 and a half hour deal. My roommate and I have a lot of stuff... And heavy, sturdy stuff at that. We knew it would take a while to move and that we would most likely have to pay for extra time. To our astonishment, our three man team ( Jacob, Moni, and Sivi) managed to move all our things in the time slot we rented for!!! They were amazingly efficient, timely and friendly!! We used a groupon - just like many of the reviewers have - Thinking this was a great deal, but you get what you pay for - and they'll take little responsibility in the end - so read the reviews on the BBB first!! We hired them to move our things into storage for us - for about 5 months. Corey was the team lead and seemed very nice. Once we were ready to move our things out of storage, we decided to take our time and not rush the process. We discovered the furniture was scratched, wheels were broken off roll carts, one of my storage shelves was completely destroyed - to the point it was thrown out, and the worst part was my fridge was horribly dented and scratched. We noticed this right away - as it is a massive eye sore. We took it home and took pictures in better light then sent pictures to the owner. We didn't receive any response for a few weeks - to which David had said our email was in his junk folder. We had asked him only for a $300 reimbursement for the dented SS panel. He seemed willing to help us after we gave him all of the details and told us he would get to the bottom of what happened. HE RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY by denying any and all responsibility. Telling us that we had waited too long to tell them there was any issue (which we had no idea they dented it until it came out of storage) - and that we couldn't prove another mover didn't do it when we moved into our new house - but they were the only movers we used - and we know that WE didn't dent our own furniture - or break the shelves.. or scratch the wood. We aren't asking for anything but replacement of the panel. But how David responded was completely unprofessional - I can't even believe this is how he conducts his business when it's his team that ruins people's things - an owner of a company can shift blame onto the client? I just had these guys move us. The crew showed up on time and got everything done in the time frame that I had planed for. Now I was using these guys to get the bulk items down from a third floor apartment, I did not expect them to get everything in the time allotted. However, they not only got the items that I needed, they somehow managed to get everything else. The 3 guys that showed up one had been with this company 3 years, And the second guy I cant remember how long he was with the company, but he defiantly not new at it. And the third guy was new ( a couple of month) but even the new guy was still very conscientious of what he was doing. The movers did a great job. They were efficient and nothing was damaged. If I could give them 5 stars I would. But the owner provides awful customer service. I was trying to hire his company and had to call and text him several times just to get the information I needed. I had no idea what time the movers were coming the night before the move. Finally got ahold of the owner and he gave me the wrong time for the movers to show up and I was unprepared as they came an hour and half earlier than I was told. I asked him to supply an invoice for me after the move to help me with an issue I had with the storage company and after reaching out through text and calling more than 5 times I still never received the invoice. Like I said the owner has terrible customer service, but his employees are great. So if you want to deal with someone who has poor communication and can't do simple business tasks for a customer do not hire this company. Seems like he got his money and could care less to just be a nice person. I wasn't asking for anything that would harm his business or take a lot of time out of his day. The lack of communication was very disrespectful and frustrating from the beginning to the end. read more

What was supposed to be a very simple move 2 miles away at the end of Jul 2016 turned out to be terrible moving experience for the following reasons... - found them on groupon...they gave me the rate without buying the groupon - I had to call to double check day/time as move day approached - Showed up 1 hour late later than they stated - Tried to charge us for 4 men instead of the 3 we agreed . the 1 person was new and could lift a thing so this was resolved on site - It seemed as if they trying to kill time before their next appt at 4pm since that is when theu kicked into high gear. - Our boxes were pre-packed but they staged all them onto the driveway...then loaded mattresses/furniture then moved the boxes again onto the truck - Sofa had minor damage - stretch marks at the corner. Texted pictures moments after they left and showed the movers after they came back to get the dolly they left behind. - Owner (david) said on the phone no problem send him quote. Sent him quote and then the bill for $80 - No response or return calls for months until I threatened to put a bad review on BBB and yelp - Then some explicatives over the phone...which he denied later - Anyway some back and forth via text... still no check - $80 is not a big deal but its about customer service and making things right since damage does happen during moves - Still no response via BBB Be careful using the groupon rates since the clock is the one thing that matters read more

He was understanding and helped keep the move progressing regardless of the obstacles we had to overcome. The brothers from the islands and the fellow from Chicago worked tirelessly. They were able to play tetris with our boxes in a manner that this guy can only admire. The billing was explained upfront and came in at the working time that was estimated at the start of the job.
