I recently visited Tatte Bakery & Cafe and overall had a good experience. The space is beautiful, bright, and very inviting. We ordered lattes and a few pastries and everything tasted great. The croissants were flaky and fresh and the latte was excellent. The food quality was exactly what you would expect from Tatte. The only issue was the cashier. She seemed more interested in her conversation with a coworker than helping us. She handed us some of our pastries but forgot the cookies we ordered and did not give us a bag for the desserts. After we waited for a few minutes she looked at us and asked what we were waiting for without saying thank you or acknowledging that the transaction was complete. When we told her we were still waiting for the rest of the pastries we ordered it felt a little awkward. Aside from that, the employees bringing food to the table were very kind, attentive, and pleasant. Overall the food and coffee were excellent. I would come back for the pastries and lattes, but hopefully the front counter service improves. read more

I spotted this shop while I was out running errands, and on my way back I decided to stop in because I was intrigued. I ordered the orange upside-down cake and it was honestly the best thing I've tasted this year. The consistency was dense but still pillowy, almost like a pound cake. The bottom had a light glazed icing layer, but the top was truly the star of the show. The orange flavor complemented the cake so well, it literally melted on my tongue like butter. And the best part? It wasn't overly sweet at all. Just perfectly balanced. The hostess was very warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. There was no wait time since I was the only person in line when I arrived. Inside there is plenty of booth seating for groups and a large bar seating area that's perfect for solo visits or small parties. Parking in this area can be hit or miss depending on the time of day, but there is a parking lot a couple of blocks away which helps. My holy grail breakfast spot in Assembly Row. Truly the ONLY spot for a more affordable breakfast and coffee selection. I stopped by every morning the two weeks I spent in the area. Absolutely in love with Tatté. This is a Boston staple, and any of their locations are amazing. I especially love the Assembly row location because of its bright and airy space. There is so much room to sit, eat, get some work done, or chat with friends. The service is always incredible and it operates very fluidly. Whenever I wait in line, I'm always overwhelmed by the amount of gorgeous pastries I have to choose from. Somehow I always end up with a plain croissant. It is SO yummy. You can tell that it's fresh and authentic. The coffee is another strength of theirs-- I always order the dirty chai latte and it tastes the same every time. First coffee spot of 2025! They were open on New Years Day normal hours and we were excited to start 2025 off right with a hot cup of joe and delicious pastries! This was within walking distance of our hotel but we drove over since we were on the way out of town and found free parking in the garage across the street. It was pretty crowded around 1pm when we arrived- must have been the lunch rush- but we didn't wait too long and almost placed an order online for in store pickup but ended up ordering at the counter. We ordered a latte, americano, danish, chocolate chip cookie, and coffee caramel mousse. We were given a number and found a seat at the end of a long communal table. The space is light and bright, open concept, plenty of small two tops and window seating as well. Our drinks took a little longer than expected to come out but they were worth the wait. The caramel mousse was delicious- smooth, creamy, and sweet, and the cookie tasted good too. I'm not a fan of danishes but it was alright! This was an enjoyable place to have our first coffee of the year. Good coffee, good food, standard pricing. I would definitely return to try more food and/or brunch! read more

This was my first time visiting a Tatte bakery. it was packed, but I didn't mind the line went pretty quickly. I ordered the salmon sandwich, but they were all out so instead I got a B.L.A.T, sparkling Matcha, lemonade, and a passionfruit dessert. The cashier gives you a number stand, and you put it on your table and they bring your order when ready. Drinks you have to pick up at the coffee bar. Most recently, I visited Tatte on a Saturday afternoon in the winter and the place was so busy that I had to camp out to find a table! There is plenty of seating, though, so it's generally not as hard to find a spot. In terms of the food, since it was a cold day out, I went for the Chicken Soup, which was hearty and soothing. My friends enjoyed their pastries as well. I usually like to order the Jerusalem Bagel, but sadly they didn't have it in stock this time. I'm sure I'll be back soon! read more

It was cute inside, and just based on that, I can see how it became popular enough to develop so many locations. I also appreciated that it had some unique dishes (for a chain bakery I guess) and the prices were comparable I thought/not overpriced. Overall I think it's somewhere I'd go back. The downsides were the atrociously long line (although they made the food somewhat quickly), the latte was just so-so in my opinion, the breakfast sandwich I found to be kind of greasy (my friend couldn't finish it), and the veggies on the lamb kebab platter were too.. pickled? She forgot about this, and also bought a birthday cake from an old school italian bakery. Somehow, it was also tiramisu. We served both and Tatte was the clear winner, although both were quiet good. My most recent visits have been at the Assembly row location. Super busy even though there are multiple other coffee options in the area. My go to order is the smoked salmon and avocado egg sandwich. UNREAL! I love this breakfast sandwich so much! It has smoked salmon, avocado, red onion, capers, sprouts, scrambled eggs, green herbed dressing on a homemade challah roll. The roll is so soft and the flavors blend perfectly with every bite. I would eat this everyday for breakfast it is so satisfying! My advice would be the earlier you get there the better. Although there are various seating options, they fill up quickly. There are multiple locations sprinkled throughout the Boston area, so it is definitely worth checking out. read more
