Empanadas
Johnny G.

On our way through Boston we were looking for a good latin bakery. This came up as our closest so we headed straight over. Very cute shop. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My wife tried some empanadas and they were tasty and nicely heated up for her. We also shared a coffee and she ordered a Cuban sandwich which was just ok. Nothing special or memorable. Prices were on the high side and we totally get it ...inflation inflation and more inflation. Empanadas were 3.50 each and the Cuban was 10 something.

Chicken Empanada

Got the Chicken Empanada and wow! The double espresso rocked, too. Check them out :-)

Small cafe with interesting off menu items. We had medium Tres Le Che Latte, Cubano sandwich and arepas for $13.50. The latte is $4, didn't know price for food. Would be helpful if there's price for food items. Taste were good, actually lots better than many places I've tasted.

I've been seeing the place on the corner of Washington Ave and Cary for a couple of months now so when they finally opened up, I strolled in one evening since it's only one block from my doorstep. First thing you notice is that it is on a verrry convenient corner. There is a lot of foot traffic and buses drop off and pick up here night and day. Upon entering, I was greeted by some light music and a very modern barista decor. I met the owners, Jeffrey and Roy. Nicest people in the world and are definitely catering to the largely Hispanic community here by having all kinds of cake and pastries. The coffee is fresh and they have a baker bringing in fresh cake and pastries often. Roy was telling me that his first night open, the pastries and cake were like "murderers row" because the customers killed off his stock almost as soon as it was put out! LOL They have lots of seating and the interesting bit is if you look up, they had an artist come in and paint in all kinds of quotes from famous people which gives this a nice, quaint, homey feel, as well as a contemporary one. Roy is constantly interacting with the customers as if he is planning to insert himself and his place as a mainstay in the community, which is awesome. Everyone I've seen comes in is friendly and grateful for one of the nicest coffee and breakfast and pastry cafes in the Boston area. As you can see by the photos I bit into a spinach and feta cheese croissant. DEEElicious! The cappuccino was perfection and complimented it well. The day before I had a cheese, sausage and egg croissant, but the new staff didn't take the time to season it. Although hearty and filled me up, I was wanting more. I told Roy about it; he snapped his fingers and told me he agreed. He found that the sausage and eggs weren't seasoned at all, so he was glad I mentioned it because he was going to take care of that for the future. All in all, this is absolutely my favorite breakfast place I think I've ever been. People are respectful and total strangers are made to feel welcome. There's lots of hand shaking and greeting return customers. It's just the kind of place that makes living here better. Disclaimer: Although I do have a personal relationship with one of the owners (well, now I do), I am in no way being compensated for this review. As a favor to my fellow travelers, I feel reviewing great places like this is a privilege so you all out there can have good experiences, too. Plus, here is a place truly worthy of a strong five stars!

The coffee here is excellent and I'm a coffee roaster. I had a yuca pastry and a home made donut. Both delicious and I wish I could sample more. The interior is quiet and spacious. It would make a good place to hangout and work.

Coffee Cafe, unassuming, not pretentious, solid coffee, pastries, and desserts. Pleanty of seating, always welcoming for a neighborhood location

Beautifully decorated.

So happy there's a cafe like this in Chelsea. It's just what we needed. They serve a variety of quality coffee, lattes, espresso, breads and pastries. Try the empanadas! They're delicious!

As we walked in, we were met with the great aroma of coffee and baked goods. The place was very busy and there were a lot of staff moving around and customers having conversations or in line to order take out. We sat in a separate area downstairs and we were the only guests there. It was somewhat dark but it was private and there were bathrooms downstairs. We tried their tiramisu that was one of the bests I've ever tried. We also ordered their pistachio martini that was a super treat as it also had pistachio gelato. Their cappuccino made me want a second one. I am coming back to this place next time that I visit the North End!

Faint enough that it seems like the coffee grounds were used a few times... the rum cake was okay. It tasted commercially made. Unfortunate because I used to enjoy a coffee and pastry here. The workers were nice but the quality just isn't meeting nearby bakeries... Tables and menus were a bit sticky / dirty and could benefit being wiped down more
