    Tofu wrap was really tasty!
    Charlotte I.

I'm from out of town and I stopped by True Grounds for a light lunch on a recommendation. My friend and I ordered the tofu wrap to share and each got an iced Vietnamese coffee. I'm not usually a fan of vegan wraps but this one was flavorful with a good mix of veggies. The coffee was good, although I wish they had mixed in the condensed milk more. The decor was cute; unique designs on all the tables and a giant avocado painting on the wall which I loved. We arrived at about 1:30 and they close at 2, so when we were placing our order to dine in, the employee kindly reminded us of the closing time. When I asked, they provided us with an extra plate and glasses of water. The service was pretty fast, though to be fair it wasn't that busy, so we had plenty of time to eat our wrap before we had to head out. Next time I'll have to try one of their other sandwiches or wraps!

I feel a bit conflicted writing this review, because True Grounds can be really great. Their coffee and quality of food is excellent, and the cutesy coffee shop vibe is awesome. However, this is the second time in a row they've gotten my order wrong. I always use the ordering kiosk, so I don't believe it's a misunderstanding issue. Most recently, I ordered a hot latte and an iced mocha, but the mocha came hot and the latte was iced. I also ordered a bagel with eggs and cheese but received a bagel with chipotle mayo, cheese, and no egg. I was so disappointed when I got home and bit into an eggless bagel slathered in mayo and unmelted cheese. I want to keep trying since I know the food and coffee can be great, but it's disappointing not getting what you ordered.

Visiting Boston and my friend took me to this Cute little coffee shop with really yummy tasting coffee! I ordered an iced latte and it was delish! For those that love regular or sugar free syrups, they got many options. Also many milk alternatives. Highly recommend:)

Best gluten free bread I've ever had! I've been completely gluten free for 2 years and usually just avoid gf bread (because it's usually dry and crumbly) but True Grounds gf bread is made with rosemary flour (I think) which makes it delicious. Coffee and service are also great!

My latte AFTER I bring it home and microwave it because they serve it barely lukewarm.

Ok, I just can't with True Grounds anymore. Paid $11 for a drip coffee and overnight oats, then on the walk home realized the milk had curdled in the coffee. The baked goods are still good but for everything else they can get away with mediocrity at best because they are the only true coffee shop in Ball Square. But I'm done. From now on I'll go to Lyndells.

Highly recommend. I enjoy coming in here a few times a week to grab a coffee to go on my way to work. I enjoy the cold brew. The pastries are also really great. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the feta scone. They normally have a great selection of bites and can make a quick turn of it. When I have more time, I order a breakfast sandwich or wrap - yum! The one with the sundried tomato spread is one of my favorites. They normally have snacks for pups too!

Would come back just for this cruller, and am willing to try their other items now that I know what they're capable of. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] MAPLE CRULLER (5/5) As good as everyone says it is. The exterior is so satisfyingly crispy, but the interior has the exact right soft, eggy consistency that defines the cruller. The maple glaze is definitely very sweet, but somehow it actually works well with the fried dough such that it's not overpowering. Maple is their most popular flavor, but they also have other flavors and monthly specials to try. 2. DRIP COFFEE Perfectly fine drip coffee. The mugs they give you are smaller than their to-go cups, so probably opt for your coffee to-go, especially if you plan to go on a little stroll after accidentally eating 6 crullers for breakfast... ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * A large, spacious cafe that had a NY, tiled environment mixed with a more laidback Tatte vibe * More seating inside than I thought there would be (though a mix of individual tables, a communal high top, counter seats by the window, and tables outside) * One design issue though is that the ordering counter is right at the front door, meaning there's actually very little space for the line and so on bad weather days, you might be caught waiting outdoors under the elements vs. indoors. I'm sure there are some days where the line naturally forms inside, but the way the space is designed does not make that easy

We ordered the pesto pepperoni vodka sauce pie and the sausage, peppers & ricotta. Both were incredibly flavorful and came out piping hot. But the pesto pepperoni vodka sauce pizza was the standout for me. The crispy little pepperoni cups, the creamy vodka sauce, and that oily, flavorful pesto drizzled throughout were SO good. I loved how all the flavors and textures came together -- easily one of my favorite pizzas I've had lately. I'd honestly come back just for that pizza alone! Definitely glad we gave this place another try and will be back.

The Meatball Parmigiana was delicious with a good amount of garlic. I'm very picky about my meatballs!!! I do prefer my own, but I digress. We've had the Quattro Formaggi Lasagna (4 cheese) because my daughter is a vegetarian. It did not disappoint! My daughter loved it, and I did as well. My ONLY issue is the portion size. The photos make it look like you'll be getting a 9x12 pan, but in fact, the trays are 8.75 inches long by 6.25 inches wide by 1.75 inches deep. They fully disclose that on their website, so my bad for not checking it. Either way, their food is delicious!!

Right near Harvard cafe this is a very spacious cafe with lots of space to sit / work. They also have free wifi. I was here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! From students to uncles having business meetings (iykyk). I really was expecting for them to have some type of chai (Yemeni or some sort). But the only chai they had was Egyptian black tea or chai latte. I settled for a chai latte with coconut milk which came to around $6. This price is on par with the cafes in the area. The chai was very sweet and had a strong spice taste which tasted like it was made from a syrup. Not the best cup of tea. Their menu has a lot of items.
