I'll miss Istanbul'lu (former restaurant at this address) for a long time, but The Buzzin' Bean is an A+ replacement. We love having more fully vegetarian restaurants around, so we were very excited to see their "coming soon" signs. Went to the soft opening today and loved everything we got. The peri peri paneer quesadilla was what we were most excited to try based off the menu, and it's very solid - the star of it is the green chutney it's served with, which complements it really well. The veggie puff pastry was hearty, savory and fantastic - flaky and well spiced. (We finished it before the quesadilla came out, wish I had saved it to try the chutney with it, which I bet would be terrific.) The southwest sizzle bowl was surprisingly complex and incredibly tasty, with lots of different veggies. And I don't get mango lassis often but went for it- and found it lovely, had some subtle cardamom if I'm not mistaken. Service was fast, and staff was very kind. Very excited to come back and try more of the menu, especially the latte and chai options. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Cute vibes, lots of chill saturday vibes, students working on their computers, card games, & gentle convos. The guy at the front was very helpful in explaining the menu and friendly. We ordered an iced matcha latte with lavender & a cold brew for drinks. Matcha was 10/10, cold brew could have had a little less ice. For food we ordered a blueberry muffin & avo toast. The muffin hit, but the avo toast had the fake avocado which we didn't love, but all the other ingredients were fresh. Will come again!

I especially loved the puff pastry, the avocado toast, the paneer quesadilla, and the southwest sizzle.

TLDR: I only came to try the maple cruller, and BOY did it…read moredeliver. I'm no cruller expert, but I think folks might be right when they all say this is the best one in the game. Would come back just for this cruller, and am willing to try their other items now that I know what they're capable of. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] MAPLE CRULLER (5/5) As good as everyone says it is. The exterior is so satisfyingly crispy, but the interior has the exact right soft, eggy consistency that defines the cruller. The maple glaze is definitely very sweet, but somehow it actually works well with the fried dough such that it's not overpowering. Maple is their most popular flavor, but they also have other flavors and monthly specials to try. 2. DRIP COFFEE Perfectly fine drip coffee. The mugs they give you are smaller than their to-go cups, so probably opt for your coffee to-go, especially if you plan to go on a little stroll after accidentally eating 6 crullers for breakfast... ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * A large, spacious cafe that had a NY, tiled environment mixed with a more laidback Tatte vibe * More seating inside than I thought there would be (though a mix of individual tables, a communal high top, counter seats by the window, and tables outside) * One design issue though is that the ordering counter is right at the front door, meaning there's actually very little space for the line and so on bad weather days, you might be caught waiting outdoors under the elements vs. indoors. I'm sure there are some days where the line naturally forms inside, but the way the space is designed does not make that easy

This is an Egyptian coffee shop; I came to buy some bread…read more Sticky Bun: The caramel and pecans ensured it won't be bad, but the syrup coating and the crispness of the crust were uneven. It felt a bit perfunctory. Almond Croissant: I didn't expect it to have a sugary filling inside! A light cinnamon flavor, not too dry, not bad. Chocolate Croissant: A simple and straightforward croissant with a chocolate stick inside. Using dark chocolate prevented it from being too sweet, which is a plus. Plain Croissant: Surprisingly, it was still delicious even after being refrigerated for two days. The bread was very soft and had a subtle peppery aroma.

Right near Harvard cafe this is a very spacious cafe with lots of space to sit / work. They also have free wifi. I was here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! From students to uncles having business meetings (iykyk). I really was expecting for them to have some type of chai (Yemeni or some sort). But the only chai they had was Egyptian black tea or chai latte. I settled for a chai latte with coconut milk which came to around $6. This price is on par with the cafes in the area. The chai was very sweet and had a strong spice taste which tasted like it was made from a syrup. Not the best cup of tea. Their menu has a lot of items.
