I absolutely love this spot. From their breakfast sandwiches to their pastries and desserts, they are simply amazing. All of their baked goods are made from scratch and fresh the day of. The seating area is pretty interesting with coffee tables, sofas, and high tables. There's even a chess table you can play chess. One of those cafes that implodes on itself when more than four people are wanting to order something , staff working hard at withholding looks of panic at the coffee machine and cash register , a huge sprawling hand written menu in a hand that's difficult to read, arrows on the floor to maintain confusion and signs everywhere stating rules and points of view. There were quite a few gnats or large fruit flies buzzing around while we ate, which was surprising for mid-November, which made me wonder about the kitchen conditions. Thanks for opening back up - for at least people who feel like they "must" come in and don't really want to order online - like I was today. However short a stay it was for me - as I noticed signs that were drawing me back out and to my car around the corner with your phase 3 welcoming at the sofas only (even though in some spots on these sofa's it's less than 6 feet), I had a relative that needed to be sat with that I needed to go back to. I'm glad there's no more "table in the foyer under a door under lock and key" or the former basket under a window to hold cash for certain orders - no signs of those anymore. I never used them, but I saw all the signs (I removed both pictures I took and posted from my account and they are no longer seen now.) However, if I could, may I ask you to please cool off on the amount of cheese you are using for the Chicken Caesar salad I ordered? It was swimming with cheese, and having the chicken cut so fine - I could barely notice the chicken at first. I also felt the salad was a bit spicy and I know I wasn't tasting the croutons at the time - I was thinking more along the lines of the dressing, but I really don't know why it was this way - and this wasn't the first one from here that seemed that way (the one in April was just as spicy). Also, the 91-year-old person who I was bringing the bagel to was hardly able to handle such a thick bagel - something I had forgotten since my last bagel this past September - but devoured what she could handle (I ended up handling the rest, even dealing with the salad too. Ugh!) I wasn't too pleased that you aren't selling flavored cream cheeses to customers. I asked for two common flavors of cream cheeses and neither one was sold by your cafe. The employee told me they could add jelly, but that makes the texture so much different. Dan (you messaged me a few years ago), can you see about finding some flavored cream cheeses to sell?- you probably won't even need to make much, unless you see a great influx. read more

So very very disappointed with Taste Budd's. We have been coming here for years. Not only for a quick bite but bringing the entire family for breakfast or lunch. What a total disappointment in 2021. It's been awhile since I've been in but it's like a different place. Looks beat down and dirty. Before we ordered I popped into the bathroom and is was absolutely disgusting. Honestly looked like a shitty bus station bathroom. Garbage on the floor and very poorly cleaned. And during a pandemic, WTF!! That was just our welcome back. Ordering our lunch in the line was a joke. Signs posted that masks were mandated, people arguing and the management doing absolutely fuck all. If you post that masks are required, then do your job and enforce it, as opposed to just standing there doing NOTHING. Or just don't post anything and be the flakey business you seem to be. Obviously trying to play both sides of the political game and failing at both. On to the food and service. Service was pretty good when we were ordering. The guy that took our order was knowledgeable and helpful but seemed very disinterested in even being there. On to the food. Decent. Good to see that hasn't plummeted like everything else. Breakfast sandwich well made. Oatmeal and both coffees were cold though :(( To sum it up.... ONE SAD STAR. Won't be coming back here anytime soon. HUGE FAIL :(( read more
