I really like this Target. It's conveniently located on Ygnacio Valley and has a large parking lot. Their drive up service is speedy and efficient. They have a new system for returns where you have to go through Starbucks (just left of the entrance), and that can be a bit backed up, but they are usually well staffed and things don't take too long. Their products seem to be well stocked, and the store is pretty big. I really like how they have a good amount of self check out stands because this helps the lines move and if you're quick at checking yourself out, it can be done really fast! A nice target that carries almost all the basics needs you could ask for..I love targets they are one of my favorites store to do shopping in. I sometimes just go there just to see if any new kinds of products are out . They have Plenty of house hold items , with a pretty large clearance section .. I love there movie selections area . I have added many blue rays to my collection . They have a nice movie sale right now 4.75 for a lot of different films.. Definitely a fun store to just stroll threw to see what you can find !! Being in the middle of a Pandemic and under an SIP order, you still need food...and the best part of going to Target is that you can pick up other items too. Let's face it, if you need a carafe or a frame for a photo you've got to order it. And then maybe wait weeks for it to arrive and maybe shipping... anyhoo the days of just popping out to the store and buying what you need for the moment are gone. So going to look for a particular food item I couldn't get at my local store took me to Target, and gave me a treat! Of course social distancing and masks all taken seriously. Not sure what happened to the kids who used to work in the drive-up orders but the older employees are the most inefficient employees who've worked in the drive-up area. I understand that they can get overwhelmed with orders but there was one employee yelling at another while there were over 10 cars waiting. read more

They COMPLETELY remodeled this Target location in June 2019 and it looks like a totally different store, both inside and out! The exterior now has a bright red roof, and the word target on the front of the store is in lower case and both it and the logo are now white in color. The interior has a more open feeling layout. All of the departments have been rearranged, so if you were used to knowing where everything was in the store -- like me -- then it takes some getting used to! The area with customer service, returns and pick ups, the dollar section, and the cafe all looked modern, sleek, and set farther back to allow more room for lines of people. Although there is an adequate signage, I needed assistance from an associate to locate what I needed. But first, I had to locate an associate, which was hard to find! When I did get to the basic items that I specifically went in to purchase, they weren't in stock : ( In addition, that same section was also disorganized -- out of place in such a clean store! At least I was able to get in line and complete my transaction quickly, since they had all of the registers open. And despite it being busy, parking wasn't an issue, even with all of the giant storage containers set up at the far end of the parking lot. I can see why this location is a destination for many shoppers, as the brand has taken the time and effort to make it as such! read more

I love this Target SO MUCH! It is always clean, organized, and well put together. The atmosphere is so much better than the Target in Concord, that one is very scuzzy. Tracey at this store was awesome. My friends bank wouldn't let her spend over a certain amount of money, and she had to sort it all out. I work right across the street. So it's very convenient for me to go to Target to buy the things we need. The problem is, this store is always out-of-stock of the products we need. Again, this morning, went to Target to get some coffee, diet coke and diet Pepsi. And again, they had nothing... So sad to see empty shelves and such a loss of time. I've been shopping here often, about once per week, and almost every time I come here they are out of one type of milk or another. This time they get a bad review. I have called this store 27 times in a row. I have pressed every department and no one, absolutely no one has picked up the phone. I wanted to speak to a manager because I returned $108.95 in purchases today and they charged me instead of putting through a credit. There is no reason on earth for a store if this size not to have people answering the phone. I Had a strange experience from a young cashier in the pharmacy dept. I had pardoned myself with a customer already standing in line to just ask where the travel aisle was located, and the cashier was extremely rude. This is one of my favorite Target locations. Love the underground shaded parking and the convenient location of the drive up parking. Due to COVID, I've almost exclusively ordered my items via drive up which has been so helpful. For all you mamas out there, you know how hard it is to go out with 2 little ones so the fact that I can order on my phone and then just drive up into the parking lot and pick up my order within 2 hours is such a win. read more

As of April 2019 this target is in the middle of a remodel. I am sure when it is done it will be really nice. It can be difficult to find parking in front of the store, but they do have a good sized parking garage that's free parking. This is target is usually clean and well organized and the employees are pretty helpful if you need to find something. I have been a few times during the remodel, and employees have been very helpful in finding things that are in different locations than normal around the store. I would say if you were deciding between this location in Pleasant Hill that this target is easier to find parking and it probably your better bet to have something in stock. You can always look online to see if something is in stock if you're looking for something specifically before you come. But we all know how target works, you come for one thing and you end up spending $100 on a basket full of awesomeness! read more

The recent remodel really sucks. They took an already shitty snack bar and made it even worse. It's a complete joke now. We are very disappointed with what they've done with it. But of course, Starbucks is still there. What would the stuck up PRICKS of Walnut Creek do without their Starbucks? Another ongoing issue is their carts. Every single one of them is a POS. I personally think this is the best target in the area. They're always fully stocked & have everything you need. The parking outside can be a pain, and now that they're doing construction you have to park in the garage, but there's ample parking there. Although it's always packed, the lines typically move fast, especially self check out. read more

I've never experienced such top notch service as I did on a Monday afternoon in the women's department. *Shout out to Juliana* who was working the floor in the women's department who went above and beyond to help me find a specific clothing item. I was honestly having the toughest time looking for a basic long-sleeve black shirt, but Juliana walked through the entire department with me to find it, and even looked it up within the app to see what they had in the back room. Terrible. Checked online for a sleep-suit and says they have it in store however size not listed. I call to verify the size and gal answers the phone with a hello in Spanish (no this is target) she keeps repeating herself and then hands the phone to another associate who verifies they have the size I need in stock. I show up and they have the wrong size..First their online inventory system has messed up numerous times and a second their employees can't seem to complete a simple request over the phone. My son and I love going to Target. Sometimes we know what we're looking for and other times we just go in to see what we can find. On one Black Friday, my son woke up at 4:30 and rousted me out of bed to remind me that it was time to get ready to go to the early opening of the Albany Target! I'm not sure that we bought anything, but that wasn't the point. So what do you first offer a boy with a aching and bandaged toe from a just completed podiatry appointment? TARGET! Well, I did have to get him some clean socks and maybe some roomier shoes and fill the antibiotic prescription. So onto Highway 24, off on Ygnacio Valley Road and onto the Walnut Creek Target we went. And surprisingly, I found a parking spot in the front lot right away. Maybe it was because it was dinner hour. This is a nice Target, although I'm partial to my double-decker Albany store. My prescription was filled quickly and socks/shoes-wise I found what I was looking for. My son got some cards and Gayle joined us to shop for some grandchildren toys. Checkout was fast too, even with the store being so busy with Holiday shoppers. And it doesn't seem to matter which Target you visit. You pretty much get the same clean store, selection, shopping experience, and well-executed business model every time. read more

I used to live in the area and it's a Target that's pretty much en route to home, but the day I went recently was for a purpose and that was to get a Christmas gift for my niece. Online it said that they had it in stock. I purposely drove to this Target and I basically rummaged through the shelves and nothing. I asked an associate and they asked the storage room and nothing. He then said I could order it online and deliver it to store which I kindly had to tell him, I couldn't do that as it was not an option and the website told me to go to the store to find the item. I was sad and disheartened and spent almost an hour in there. Otherwise, this Target gets a good crowd of folks. There's parking in front as well as underground. I've always had the luck of parking on the top vs the bottom. This place is fairly clean and well staffed. Other than the hiccup I had with the gift. It's a great target to have nearby. read more

The Walnut Creek Target is still one of my favorite Targets in the Bay Area. This wide-ample Target is walking-distance to/from the BART station, close proximity to the lively downtown Broadway Plaza, easy access to/from the freeway; plenty of parking located underground, less chaotic esp. on the weekends and most of the staffs are friendly and caring. I also like the family-feel of this store. My last 38 (or so) visits have been mainly from this Target store. And just like most of the Target stores, they've added or in the development of adding a full-service grocery store with unique gourmet items, fresh meats and produces at competitive prices. The best way to promote a healthier life is to eat more fruits and vegetables. If I'm in the vigorous mood, I'll go to the newly install produce section for a container of slice fruits with a mixture of melons and fresh berries. Best. Target. Ever. When a two story Target opened near my house in San Diego with a too-cool-for-school shopping cart escalator, you better believe I was there checking it out as soon as I could. Since then I've become older and wiser and realized that I'd spend my time at two story Targets hunting all around the first floor until I'd realize whatever I wanted was on the second. The moral of the story is one story Targets rule. So the Walnut Creek Target not only is one story, it's the best. It's laid out well and is clean. Many Targets have aisles with stuff strewn about and whole sections in total disarray (I'm looking at you, Daly City and El Cerrito Targets) . Not this one. I mean who am I kidding? Discount stores like Target in rich areas are nicer. Also, there aren't tons of people there at all times of day. What's good at Target: Socks - Cheap toe socks! Ones at Halloween and Christmas are particularly good. They are made noticeably cheaper though. Shoes - Really nice cheap and trendy shoes. Love the high boots I've bought there. Downside: The soles are white plastic and the "wood" will peel off. Clothes - Isaac Mizrahi line is pretty good. My only gripe with Target is that their clothes run big, and they never have enough of the smaller sizes. Lingerie - This is where I go now for my everyday $11 bras. They last just as long or longer than my Victoria Secret lingerie. Furniture, Baby stuff, Games, Home decor, Food Stay away from: Jewelry - Made really cheaply. Glass beads are obviously plastic. This was the largest Target I have ever set foot inside. When we arrives, we were lucky to find a parking spot near the front of the building, therefore skipping the parking garage (this Target has a PARKING GARAGE!). The parking spot had a time limit, so we hurried inside to buy our items. We just stopped here for a sweater and some cold medicine. Target always has everything. Convenient location! Always lots of parking above ground, as well as underneath in the parking garage. The employees are good at keeping the place clean, I very rarely see any "go-backs" sitting around the store in the incorrect places. I always get my two packs of Neutrogena makeup wipes here! I can't get them at Costco without a membership so Target is the next best place to find the bundle packs. I wish they weren't always out of the SheaMoisture African Black Soap Clarifying Toner with Tamarind and Tea Tree Oil though! I've gotten it here maybe once or twice, but ever since then they're always out of them on the shelf and I'm in too much of a rush to hunt down an employee to check in the back for it. They're conveniently located near Walnut Creek BART, corporate buildings (which houses the majority of their loyal customers), there's a Starbucks inside, and a Chevron across the street. A one stop shop for all of your daily needs. I made my routine trip to Target this past week, and Rania assisted us with check out. She was so upbeat, cool, and kind. I've been to this Target consistently for over 3 years but this was the first time I was truly impressed by the service I received. Rania must be a positive and happy person because her personality was so infectious. Give this delightful young lady a raise please! I have to say, this store has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced at a Target. I had made a purchase online and received my email confirmation it was ready for pick up. When I picked up my items, they were NOT what I had ordered. Apparently, there was a "glitch" online and they would not give me what I ORDERED, even though I received the confirmation it was ready. On top of that, they refused to return them same day and told me I had to wait 24 hours to do so. SERIOUSLY?! Why say my order is ready for pick up and you give me the wrong items?? AND, before I could even check the items, you close the order so I can't cancel it?! On top of that, I emailed customer service to complain and have received about 5-6 responses, all from different individuals. I've requested my email be sent up to management for review and they have refused. Seriously?! If you make a mistake online, that is not the consumers issue. You should honor your error. All these words describe Target check out and order pick-up. Let's start with Target check out. We live in a pandemic and Target has the audacity to close check out lanes. This created lines all the way back to the women's clothing department. Check out employees were SLOW SLOW SLOW. I stood in line from 2:15-2:56 and there were 6 people in front of me. This was also the shortest line. I also saw people abandoning their carts and leaving in frustration. MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR IN LINE!!!!!!!!!! I almost left (and I should have), but I needed an item in my cart for work. Now, let's talk about order pick up. After standing in line for 10 minutes I asked the guy in front of me if anyone had helped him. He said no. I had to CHASE DOWN an employee who brushed me off without even acknowledging me. W T F. So then I found another employee who paged someone. After standing in line for ANOTHER 15 minutes, someone came to help. Other employees were talking amongst themselves saying that "Target needs to hire more people". As a Pharmacist, someone would be fired by now. This is gross incompetence.
