Who doesn't love Target? I know I do, but it can be so dangerous to my wallet. I always find too many things I don't need, but today's excursion was frugal and fruitful. I got some great buys on mundanities like boxer briefs and paper towels. Best deal of the day: Kraft Mac-n-Cheese 10 for $10! W00t! My 2 fave things about this Target: 1) the Starbucks just inside the door so I get get my addiction on 2) my buddy Scooter works here What I'm not down with: they don't have drink holders on the shopping carts so my iced coffee slides around in the basket of the shopping cart and verges on disaster when we push the cart. We used to have those cup rests on shopping carts in Boston, but come to think of it -- that was probably a Dunkin Donuts at the Stop & Shop dealio and I don't know that I've ever seen those in AZ. The other thing that struck me as we walked in is that I must be getting really old. 2 times in the past week I've heard what was once considered "alternative" music playing in pedestrian locations. Today we heard Nirvana blasting in the parking lot at Target. Last week it was the Cocteau Twins at Chilis. I think I'm turning into my Mom. read more

I prefer Target miles and away above Walmart. You might just have to hold a gun to my head to get me to shop at Walmart, and if we're being honest, I feel like that's a legitimate risk when I go in that giant blue building. So I shop at Target. This particular location is great because it's in Tempe Marketplace, so anything else you may need is nearby. I knock off one star only because of the layout of the store... I get lost every time! This may speak some to my sense of direction, but this store just confuses me. If this is a strategic move to get guests to peruse more aisles, it works. I do general grocery shopping at grocery stores, but if I'm at Target and need a couple items, I'll gladly get them here... produce aside, prices tend to be pretty good. read more

If you know me you know I LOVE target, but this location is absolutely ridiculous! I have had several drive up orders with incorrect or missing items. Most recently it was a protein I purchased among other items. Since I have been burned many, many, many times by driving off and not checking the bags until I get home , I checked the bags and the protein was the incorrect flavor. I got out of my car and walked up in attempts to return it. I know target has a 24 hour return policy, which is ridiculous, but I informed the young lady at the front this was the incorrect flavor if I could switch it out. She said yes. I checked the aisle and they were out of the protein brand completely. I asked her for my money back and again the 24 hour return policy was reiterated. She kindly looked up the protein at another target and informed me I could return it at that location. I then drove to the location the next day and they informed that I couldn't return the protein there bcuz the barcodes didn't match I had to go back to the original location. A few days later I place an order of hygiene essentials and decided to get off and return the incorrect protein and pick up the items I ordered. After the the protein return the young lady at the front handed me ONE bag of my items. I pulled them all out and informed her I had EIGHT items missing not including the two items they canceled bcuz they were out of stock. She looked confused and I pulled out my phone and counted the items. She then consulted with a few people in the back and came out with my two other bags. I am beyond frustrated with this location. I understand errors and mistakes happen but every time I come the this location it is something. On Sunday again I was giving the incorrect dog food and I didn't notice since I had the guy place it in the trunk. Earlier this afternoon I placed another order for 4items that show they have several in stock on the app and all 4 items were just canceled "out of stock" at this point it's just pure laziness of the employees. I will no longer shop at this target. I rather drive the extra 5miles to the target by MCC. The overall quality of employees you are hiring at this location is very poor. Employees seem to be annoyed anytime they are asked anything or are fooling around. Corporate needs to look into their internal leadership as this store has a high turn over of employees and it could be the cause of just hiring anyone that applies at this location. read more

There has rarely been a Target that I haven't liked. The bonus about this one is that it's shiny and new. Located at the new Tempe Marketplace shopping center this store boasts all the amenities and other cool things we've grown to love about Target. Everything from cool clothes at decent prices to DVDs to groceries. The employees at this location are great too. There is one cashier that's helped me twice at this store, both times calling me over to her register when all the other registers had lines. Plus, their shopping carts are made almost entirely of plastic instead of metal. I don't know why this is important, but I like it. read more

So it's rare that I leave comments on stores, an this is the first bad review I think, but this target really did it for me. I usually like to shop at target because it's a lot nicer then Walmart or other discount stores everything from the bathrooms to the price tags being readable not distorting the merchandise, an shopping bags rarely ripping on you. TARGET AT TEMPE MARKET PLACE IS AWEFUL! 1-It's so hard to find anyone who can help you while shopping, the employees seem to not even care to try to help you. (Once I stood in the electronics dep holding the most expensive camera in my hand for 20 mins before someone finally came to ask if I needed help) If they don't know how or can't do it, your the one who has to ask for a superior employee or manager. And even they do not care to try to fix things. Unfortunately I believe a lot of this is due to hiring ASU students. 2-the few times I have returned or tried to exchange things, it takes 32mins at-least, then 2 of the 3 times doing this, they completely messed up and sent me home with the product I was trying to return, the first time was a ink cartridge and I didn't realize till I was back home. 3-They used to have a chase atm here, it still shows on my iPhone's map when I search for them, but they never bothered to update Google and Apple, or maybe chase banks that this atm was removed, let me also say that this WAS the ONLY chase atm at Tempe Market Place. When I've mentioned this to employees an management it is clear they have no interest in fixing it. 4-They must have a large problem with "tag switchers" because whenever I check out the clearance items, something I try to get wasn't really on sale. This is very frustrating when I do any budget shopping especially. Oh wow I think I am going to stop here, 5-I didn't even mention being accused of shoplifting and when I allowed him to search me and recheck the videos. I was only apologized to by the officers not the managers, an I felt so sick by it i didn't even want the things I had bought anymore, I just wanted to return my whole purchase an go elsewhere. This is a great Target, the staff is nice and friendly and everything is usually stocked. How can you not like a store that basically meets all your needs in one area? This Target is nice, clean and has a friendly staff. I've always been able to find what I'm looking for at this store. The items are always in stock. Prices are always really good. I have a strange addiction to Target. I must go at least once a week, and although I always have the intent of buying one thing... I'll walk out with ten things. There's something about this place that makes me want to wander the aisles and find things that I somehow forgot I "needed". Anyways, this Target is my favorite. It's clean, staff is nice, customers aren't sketchy, and it's conveniently located by many other stores. Some things to check out while here: (1) DVDs!!! Holy, they have some good deals. It seems like they change the discounts on dvds every 1 or 2 weeks. I'll see movies (even fairly new ones) full price one week, then extremely marked down the next. Target has created a dvd obsession in me! (2) UP and UP products! Just as good as brand name items! I especially love up and up for their diapers, wipes, and formula. I save SO MUCH money by buying generic. The diapers work great and my son has no complaints about his up and up soy formula! (3) Baby clothes! Just a couple days ago, I bought 4 (12 months size) shirts for my son and spent $10! 2 of the shirts were under $2 and all were very cute. Even when there isn't a sale, you can find shirts, shorts, and pants for $4 each! I've noticed that if you look around you'll often see items that are full price one week, on sale the next, and back to regular price not too long after. I bought my son a fisher price toy for $20 and right now it is currently back to its regular price of $35. SO have fun finding great items and saving tons of money! read more

I've been going to this Target since 2008, my freshman year at ASU, and now that I live in Scottsdale I still kind of love this Target & will make the trip to it. With that being said, all of my RX's I get through here & I've always had a great experience. David is my all time favorite, he's so friendly and knowledgeable, so this has nothing to do with him. Last night I did not have a great experience at Target Pharmacy when I was picking up a RX that I get every month & have been taking for years & years. I got an automated text from Target saying my RX is ready a few days ago, I go in and its not ready. The lady tells me 20 min or so, so I go & check out at the front of the store. I get a call from them while I'm in line & she tells me I cant get it for a few more days... after going back & forth with her a bit, I go back & she says another few min. Finally, I'm waiting & waiting (& I get it, its right after people get off work so they're busy) I just said I would come back tomorrow. So I will try again today. Probably will switch my RX's over to Indian Bend Pharmacy to try & prevent this kind of chaos. read more

I keep telling myself im never coming back to this place but its only redeeming factor is its location. They up the prices of college school supplies for when freshmen are coming to ASU and then mark it down to the normal price saying theyre having a "huge sale" I once left my keys in my cart full of items as i went to take a piss and they put my cart back after one minute because it was "abandoned". Security and staff were absolutely no help and couldnt understand why i was upset they had wasted an hour of my time "looking for them as hard as they could". I got frustrated and walked around the store and in 3 minutes found them clipped to a cart someone had abandoned in the baby isle. I try to price match various things here and every time I'm hit with a made up policy that doesnt exist on their corporate policy anywhere. I once watched a dog have horrible diarrhea in the pet isle which stayed there for the rest of my visit even after the smell permeated into the produce section (which oddly enough has always had a funky smell to it) If youre looking to just buy a few things and leave this target works but if you need anything more complicated then its going to be a complete waste of time. read more

My favorite spot in Tempe. I love this target, they have everything you could every dream of! Including pumpkin spiced goods even after the Halloween season is over. Usually, I go to pick up some bath or kitchen stuff, so I am not a genius on each corner of the store, but it would be my first spot to go if bored and looking to pass time in a large, commercialized, flourescent atrium. This review is for the pharmacy. They are awesome! No matter where I've lived in Tempe or South Phoenix, I have always made the drive to fill my prescriptions there. The staff is super nice and helpful, which is why I've been going there for 8 or 9 years. Sometimes, of course, they are busy. But, if they are slow it is because they are working to answer questions, not because they aren't actually working. read more

Wow, we just got home from a great experience at this Target. The line went forever to get in on this Thanksgiving day and once the doors opened everything ran smooth and quick. This store rocks! By far one of the best locations in the area. With the amount of business they get from ASU, it's incredible how organized and clean the store is. When you're done with your shopping and slowly making your way toward the registers, you'll find more than 2 lanes open. Additionally, the self check out they have is super convenient. Unlike any other I've been through.. Their team members are friendly and helpful. My girlfriend and I were blown away and even went back later that night. Assuming it was a lucky one time experience. But it wasn't. Becca (the target team member that assisted us) was extremely helpful. Both times. Not only was she attentive toward us, but to the three other registers requiring her assistance as well. She handled every issue with ease and had no other look then one big smile from ear to ear. They have a true asset and we would gladly go back in hopes of bumping into her again. She was so pleasant. I love target! This location in particular is very clean and the staff is friendly. I like that they're starting to have trendy clothing for men and women. Do you dare me to add more selections in The plus size area. Not everyone is skinny and a size 2. I also like the furniture that they have. The store is usually pretty clean and the staff is *usually pretty friendly. They seem to have more stuff than other Targets and I'm assuming its because of their proximity to ASU, so that's a plus. However, that's also a negative because it can get BUSY. I avoid this by going later at night. All in all, a good Target . read more

What is not to love about Target. This Target is no exception. I love it and you will love it as well. The staff is friendly, the store is huge , and it is very clean. It seems taht it is always open which is a big deal for me. Thank you for that. If I am out and about, and I remember that I have to get something from Target I can stop here on my way home and it is quick and easy. They have a Pharmacy, all of them you say. Well, maybe but if you need a script from a different Target and you are at this one. They will call for you and fill it at this one. They will no doubt do that at all of them. This place is loaded with customer service and I really like that as well. They are always willing to help you with what you need or find someone that can. Lots of parking in the lot and a clean restroom. So they got hacked,and I know that is a big deal, but it could happen to anyone ,anywhere, at any company. We just do not know about it yet. This target is ALWAYS jamin busy, busy. I think it's the closest locale to the university. I have to admit the females clothes selection is head & shoulders above my local Target. I'll give them that. This review is wholly based on the CS. I returned a clothing article & exchanged for another no problem while the hubs bought some household necessities. It happened to be the week they rolled out their new CC machines & boy howdy did it go badly. He was double charged after the cashier allegedly cancelled one of the transactions. So he went to the CS desk & got no where. Like literally no where & left unhappier than he arrived. It was such a bummer way to start a weekend. read more

I absolutely love this Target. It is a hop, skip, and a jump away from my apartments and super convenient. They always seem to have what I am looking for. The staff is friendly and there to help. I didn't even have to search to find an employee to help me, they are pretty much everywhere. They even had a college night last week where they closed the store down and let ASU students come in and shop their butts off. They were pretty wiped out when I came in last week because of all the kids moving in but they replenished everything that night. On hand quantity is wrong for products sold in store and no one seems to care about it. I have been complaining on multiple wasted trips to this store. I have spoken to the people in the baby department, cashiers and customer service desk and none of them seem to care. I can never get a hold of a manager to tell them. The pharmacist was extremely helpful, making sure that all of my transfers were being taken care of and was willing to go above and beyond to get one filled that was not ready. i was here the other day, i went to buy headphones, and i accidentally bought the wrong thing twice, on the second time, i assumed i bought the correct item so opened it outside but when i did, i saw it was bluetooth (i just wanted the normal plug in ones) so i brought it back and at first the customer service lady was hesitant to exchange it but this really handsome man with a great jaw line and impeccable style came up and said "what seems to be the issue?" i glanced at him in awe of his beauty,m. i thought to myself, how could a man be this beautiful? i explained to him what had happened, he obliged the request, and i left without any issues. i still think to this day, where are you target man....10/10 would recommend read more

I regret having to report the terrible service I received at this Target. I love Target and have always received superior service with the exception of tonight. While checking out tonight is seem that everyone else in the Target store was also checking out. The cashier who was working my lane , Ali, had a 10 minute conversation with a fellow ASU student instead of tending to the line. At least 3 customers behind me got out of the line and went other lanes. I stayed in the line despite my frustration. I was quickly beginning to feel that I was at Walmart. I will be doing my shopping at other target locations where their staff members are more courteous. read more
