Been coming here for years. My whole family really like DR. BUI. He shows patience with my kids and my boys do move a round a lot. Any questions you have he will answer them very detailed. Most of the time it's easy to get an appointment. The receptionist are friendly and I never experienced rudeness from anyone. Target optical has great selections. I especially like how they have a big selection of RayBans. Over all, this is a great place to have your eyes check because the staff is friendly and the doctor is very knowledgeable. Worst service EVER! Ran out of contacts and leaving for a trip. I ordered contacts on Target.com, spent $500 and paid rush shipping. I asked the guy working there if I could buy a couple contacts from them directly or just get a couple samples till mine come in. He refused to help me out. Literally THE best optical office around!!! From the friendly staff to the selection of glasses. Staff was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Glasses are a bit more expensive than some other places. You cant put a price on the quality here and the customer service! I recently got new insurance due to a new job so I was looking for a new optometrist. Target Optical happens to be on the list within my network and they had an opening for me on Saturday so I made an appointment, came 30 minutes early and browsed their frames collection. My old glasses were broken and I was running low on my daily contacts, so I was looking to get new glasses and new contacts. The plan is to pay for one with my insurance and for the other out of pocket. Obviously let insurance pay for the more expensive one, right? Dr. Kiet Bui was phenomenal. I enjoyed my experience with him very much. His optometry office has state of the art technology. His machines were so new compared to my old optometrist. He had a machine eye machine that I have never seen before. He mentioned that it was new. He was so professional I knew I was in good hands. This would have easily been a 5 stars review if I was ONLY reviewing Dr. Bui. His exam was so thorough and he was so informative. The prescription on my new glasses and new contacts are amazing. Dr. Bui even had a booklet to test color blindness. I guess there are different types of color blindness so each page can be seen differently if you were colorblind on any spectrum. I really wish the experience ended here so I can write him a happy 5 stars review. The downside kicked in when it was time for me to go to the front and do the financial aspect of everything. I am blessed working with a big company that has incredible coverage so on my insurance summary, it shows how there are no co-pays for lens exams, contact exams, dilation, contact fitting, etc... However when I came to the front they said the contact fitting took up all of my insurance and I was no longer eligible until 2019. Bullsh*t this has NEVER happened before. So SOMEHOW they told me to go inside and pay for the fitting that my insurance covers... so I can use my full contact coverage. Then remember how I wasn't sure if I wanted to use my insurance on contacts or frames? Well, they were unable to check my insurance since they had to wait until Monday after things were voided. Both of the girls in front were so IRRITATING. They were like ohh it's the same. EASY FOR YOU TO SAY WHEN IT ISN'T YOUR MONEY!! I was so annoyed that this visit turned out way more troublesome and expensive than it needed to be. If the girl had done research and given me the breakdown like she promised she would before I went into the office, this could have all been avoided. Not to mention there was NO ONE after me, so they were not busy. To their credit my glasses were ready within the week. I really love my Armani Exchange man-style frames. I tried them on, I look great... This is when she asked if I would like to pay $35 for their 1 yr warranty. I was in a better mood since my glasses came in a timely manner, but then she throws in... Oh you need to make a $25 copay IN ADDITION to the warranty... WHAT THE HECK!!!!! The sign said $35/yr not depends on if you have insurance or whatever... WHAT A FREAKEN SCAM. She just ruined my mood some more.... Back to being annoyed and angry. Would I come back next year?? Maybe if Dr. Bui has a new staff... I really liked him as an optometrist but I really think his front staff super f***ed up processing my insurance. And the nerve of that girl... She literally said to me that it's all the same whether you have insurance or not - you either pay a little a month or all at once. If you ask anyone who doesn't have insurance, you know that isn't true. With insurance your company helps pay for your coverage... meaning when you work for a rich company, they absorb your costs. Hence, it is cheaper for me to let my insurance take care of it. read more

I went to Target to see about pricing for contacts.. This Target optical is a preferred provider on our insurance. Target wanted to charge us approximately $220 after billing insurance. We said "no we did not want this". We go to Costco ... Costco said it is already billed (at Target). Target did not reverse the billing. When we called to try to get the billing reversed we waited 1/2 hour then Target said it would probably be 10 more minutes before the claim is reversed. At Costco we paid $70. Poor phone customer service... high prices. And should have reversed our insurance claim when we said no. read more

Beware!! This store will NOT honor the 90 Day Guarantee and the Optical Department operates it as a bait and switch. I ordered prescription glasses that did not work, gave the receipt, card I purchased it with they said, not enough and claimed the system no longer can't locate it because Target Optical is separate from Target. They refused to call the manager to correct the problem. I had to stop someone. Manager finally came they said they could only give store credit, but how could that be since they are supposedly separate. Do not buy glasses at this store, they'll steal your $$$. Lawsuit being considered over this illegal bait and switch scheme. Unethical doctor allowing this in his Department/office. read more

Despite insurance, I paid $80 out of pocket for my contacts lens training, prior to the pandemic. I had asked if they took my insurance, which they said they did, neglecting to tell me it was out of network. Because of the pandemic I never had an exam in person with the doctor to ensure the contacts were ok. When I followed up with him about concerns regarding the prescription being wrong on the trial lens and cloudy vision I was experiencing, he told me that the company only sent him one eye's prescription, which is what he'd given me to try on because the other simply hadn't come in. Ok, that's reasonable enough. However, when I insisted that my vision didn't feel right and he said, "We've already been on the phone for 5 minutes. What do you want me to do?" UMM MAYBE ORDER ME THE CORRECT TRIAL LENS. He followed this by saying "It seems like you're new to contacts...If you have questions about what's normal and what's not, check out YouTube videos." That's what I'd already been doing and will do in the future if it means never having to speak to him again! If I'd known that asking for 5 minutes of my doctor's time was a crime I'd have gone elsewhere--literally anywhere else. TLDR: Dr. Bui is rude. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

I would not be here if my insurance had not changed. If you plan on buying contacts with your insurance here don't waste your time. Just go to Costco. Target is twice the price and their people are robots. Nothing like blaming the customer and passing the buck for their terrible service. read more

Very poor service! No one is communicating, especially the doctor and the optical department. I was going there back and forth a few times in person for very small things and it always takes them too long to process everything. Later I relocated to a different city (after nearly two months later) and they stopped calling me for follow-up when my prescription is not even completed. Two associates told me very contradicting things over the phone and eventually they had no idea what was going on. It's also extremely hard to reach out to the doctor as well. Apparently no one is here communicating. My husband recommended this place for me but unfortunately my experience was horrible. I ended up not wanting a prescription from them anymore so all the charges went into wasted. WOULD NEVER COME BACK AGAIN read more

We've been seeing Dr.Bui for 7 years now. He's really good and we like him. But we're NOT going to purchase our contacts or glasses there anymore! Today I went to pick up our order which included my new glasses. Well I'm disabled so I cannot stand more than 10 minutes. When I get to the optical department I was greeted very rudely and after I said I needed to pickup she said you got some shopping to do because it's going to be about 20 minutes. I told her actually no I don't and when I asked to sit and wait because I can't stand around, she said I could sit in the red chair all the way down by the pharmacy. No one less but her and one customer were in the optical department, so why couldn't I sit in a chair in there? When she got my order out she didn't offer to adjust the glasses, again I was not offered to sit in a chair to take out my contacts to try my glasses on! When I questioned her on my contact lens prescription it got even worse. She very rudely said legally you can only get the lens that you're prescribed and the doctor had to rewrite it. Apparently I couldn't wait for him to do that for me while I wait. I explained that I couldn't order what was written because they are being discontinued. So I had to drive all the way back over there to get my contact prescription. Plus, take my glasses home to try them myself. This was the worse experience ever and this is not the first time this lady was rude! She constantly has an attitude! We recommend Dr. Bui but do not use their optical department! read more

Nightmare! Please go anywhere else. Unless you have the time/effort/energy to take your glasses back 2+ times to hope they may eventually be made w the correct lens prescription. They have a machine that reads the lens prescription and somehow still handed me my glasses twice w the wrong prescription. The office employees and manager are all rude and defensive and do not believe the customer is always right. I'm not generally a frustrated customer but they made my glasses incorrectly, TWICE!! And by they I mean the lab bc the employees make sure to explain to you that it's not the doctors fault, it wasn't a clerical error inputting the prescription but it was all the labs fault. Customers do not want to hear you passing the buck about who is at fault, they just want glasses that work. Their system is terribly slow and they tell you all about that too. The receipt is not itemized and they will charge you a $35 1 year warranty fee wo telling/asking you. I had to contact corporate to get the store to finally be told to make things right which was also a process. Emailed corporate, supposed to hear back in 24 hours, never heard back, called corporate, got a link to submit my issue, it gave a reference number and was supposed to take 5 days to hear something, I didn't hear back so I called again and gave my reference number and followed up, hours later the store called me finally being decent to me, bc I finally won, told me my refund amount and I had to explain to the manager it should be more bc it did not include the $35 warranty fee I discovered I paid by asking for am itemized receipt for insurance purposes, I was right and she called me back after she finally figured out how I told her how to do her job and was correct. And again explained to me how the system worked and did not show the fee. Corporate is sending me a check w a refund so hopefully that really happens. read more

Thank you doctor bui and team my daughters visit went great she was comfortable with the staff and is fairly new to glasses I started noticing that she struggled to see on her laptop her eyes got tired due to online learning and she was squinting quite a bit, but we took her in to see Dr.Bui she loved him he was wonderful with her he insured that she indeed get the prescription she needed and when it was all done, she got to pick out her glasses and that experience as well was great she had so much to choose from and was able to get what ever she wanted with all the bells and whistles for the best price. read more

I have been shopping around, I'm very picky. Some places I checked into, I would have to rob a bank, just to pay for the frames. I saw very good reviews about Target. I was fairly sure my trip would be a failure. I started looking at frames and the girl at the desk greeted me very politely. She did not pressure in any way. We started talking, she helped me find frames. She explained all of their deals. I ended up purchasing 2 pairs, trifocals and Coach trifocal sunglasses for less than one frame at most other places. I can't say enough about, LP, the girl that helped me. I had such a good time and a great experience dealing with her. It was like we were old friends. She was professional, courteous, caring, respectful and a lot of fun! to LP and to Target for an exceptional employee. Now, if the glasses turn out good everything will have been perfect. read more

I spent so much money on my glasses for someone to not give a crap about them. She's simply there to collect a pay check. My experience was Outstanding at Target Optical in Upland Colonies. Dr Bui is kind, considerate and explains everything. I was looking into new glasses but thought maybe contacts were the way to go. He told me that contacts would be very difficult for me with the condition of my eyes. I appreciated his honesty. I ended up getting progressive lenses and a pair of sunglasses. Both pair were designer frames and for both pair under $400.00. I have never has such a wonderful experience with buying glasses. I have gone to private physicians, Walmart and Costco for glasses and this was truly the best. From the staff to the Doctor I cannot praise them enough. I will tell everyone I meet to go to Dr. Bui at Target in Upland. I also received both pair of glasses within 3 days. read more

$100 well spent (even after insurance) NOT! I was totally robbed. Money wouldn't matter if my issue was properly corrected, I wouldn't have cared if it cost much more! That's not the issue, it's the "optometrist" Kiet Bui. Who in the world gives you two prescriptions? Obviously he knew he screwed up if he gave me a "discount". I went in to fix the problem with my left eye, which has an astigmatism. I cannot drive at night because headlights or any type of light that hits me causes a very bad glare SO instead of getting behind the wheel (to me if you can't see that's as bad as driving under the influence) I thought I would go to a professional to help me. This quack didn't know what he was talking about. He knew nothing about the different brands/types of contacts. I showed him my prescription from my previous optometrist that hasn't expired yet and he wrote it down on his pad of paper then continues to prescribe me the same exact lenses & exact prescription saying that my eye sight has CHANGED. Ok how did it change if you just wrote the same thing as the previous doctor? And how are you going to prescribe me the same brand of contacts when they don't come in toric/astigmatism? He was getting irritated and was arguing with me because I started to question him. First he said I had an astigmatism in both eyes, then it was just my right then it was both again... but I was complaining of the glare coming from my LEFT eye. NOW, my right eye hurts like hell! I sincerely hope I didn't catch anything from being there. ***UPDATE-yes, my right eye IS infected*** Good gosh, never again! Someone seriously needs to revoke this guy's license.
