I would avoid. Such a waste of time with untrained workers that hate their jobs. Called in earlier in the week to confirm if insurance is accepted. Got the OK. Made an appointment that weekend. Exam went well until picking out the frames. All of a sudden my insurance does not cover? Kept telling the associate I have 2 vision plans. 1 for exam. 1 for glasses. Not very helpful or tentative. Gave out false info. Even had the nerve to tell me to figure it out. Called up my insurance, confirmed the Target associate only looked at 1 vision plan. Such a bad experience. read more

I just needed a lens put back into the frame of my prescription sunglasses. I was ready to pay since I had bought these glasses there almost two years ago. The staff was wonderful. The girl that helped me was very sweet and did the job with a great smile. She adjusted the nose bridge and also adjusted the arms on the pair that I was wearing so they wouldn't slip down my face anymore. Didn't even know Target had an optical department, and it's not at every store so you have to look before simply dropping into a Target store. We received excellent service with software to make a precise determination of size and fit -- this at less than half the price my optician's shop would charge. Be careful when you set up an appointment because they are misleading about insurance. I set an appointment and asked them to verify if they accept my vision insurance. They later advised that they do take my insurance. I verified they they were NOT in my network . They explained that they charge my insurance as an out of network provider for an exam and would not charge me a co-pay. Unfortunately, if I need glasses, I would get only HALF my benefit for glasses reimbursement. The desk girl did not care, trying to justify it by saying their glasses were cheaper than other places, and it would even out. That is not necessarily the case, and they need to be more honest in their business practices. Then she refused to call my insurance to cancel an approval that she had obtained! Had my eye exam at target optical, Dr. Linda Nguyen O.D. is friendly and explains things pretty well. She is able to answer all my questions and works with you to find the right contacts. This year I needed to switch to a more affordable contact lens that was a daily wear contact lens. Ended up with the acuview moist contact lenses and I was really statifed with the fit. They are really comfortable & i almost forgot that I was wearing them the whole day. read more

This review is for both the optometrist and the glasses/contact fitting. I have been coming to this site for now two years. For awhile I was a poor uninsured student and that is how last year I came to use the Dr. Lisa Nguyen and the Target Optical services. I have tried Costco, LensCrafters and even Sears for my vision care but Target Optical has been by far the best. The service and prices are unbeatable. First and foremost Dr. Nguyen is the best! She might look very young but she is very knowledgable. I had told her what lens type I've been using for the last few years and unlike other places, she suggested newer products. She was aware that I had high astigmatism , that I was going to pay out of my pocket and took these factors into consideration when she recommended contacts for me. This year I was able to use vision insurance and she still gave me exceptional care and service. As a final statement I've used the Target Optical services both with and without insurance. Both times I have gotten the best prices and exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this place. read more

My fiancé went to see Dr. Nguyen after I convinced him to try her while I got my nails done. When I arrived she was just taking him into the office and he asked if I could join. She responded with a little attitude and said "it's up to you". My fiancé told me to come inside, and I did. When I would ask her questions about his vision she didn't even have the courtesy to turn around and acknowledge me. She was honestly the most unprofessional, rude doctor I have ever met. My fiancé noticed exactly what I did, and even said she was rude to him before I got there. If I could give her zero stars I would!! Needless to say, WE will not be coming back! Went to Lenscrafters and they wanted to charge my mom 300 for glasses she didn't buy. So I brought her here and the associates were very friendly and spoke Spanish so my mom was very comfortable was got better quality lenses for 100 less. We'll will be coming next year and bringing my dad. read more

I was in need of an eye exam and new glasses so I came here to Target on Rio Rancho in Pomona because my wife and kids recommended them. Dr Nguyen is so knowledgeable and thorough, I was very impressed!! Her assistant Monica is great too!! This place is great from the girls greeting you when you walk in, to the doctor taking her time the whole process is easy. They have a great selection on frames at great prices. I don't have eye insurance, so I had to pay cash. But the price was great. Comparable to Costco or Walmart. I purchased contacts and really cool ray ban glasses! Came here back in February to get a check up. I got contacts and hubby wanted to get new glasses. The original Dr. we were suppose to see cancelled....had a family emergency...no big deal I wasn't in a hurry. We were seen by a another Dr. the following week. I got a year supply of contacts...the associate convinced me to get this much and said I could bring them back as long as they were not expired within a year. We both got our prescriptions and went on our merry way...or so we thought. After almost 4 months I called because I didn't think I needed so many contacts and wanted to return half. Guess what? They would not take them back because it was past 90 days!? The associate lied and told me a year! I accepted the fact that I am stuck with one year of contacts. Hubby just recently decided to get glasses. He did not like anything here. He found some nice ray bans at LensCrafters and took he frames to costco with his prescription from target optical. Within a week he got his glasses...he kept complaining he was getting a headache. He said there had to be something wrong...I told him he might just need to get use to them. We ended up going back to costco and explained he issue. The associate was so nice and made sure the rx was right...it was. She ended up printing the last rx he had on file there. She compared it to the new rx...and guess what!? The Dr. wrote the rx backwards (he has an astigmatism on one eye) and wrote it for the wrong eye! She explains to go back and have them fix it....they would redo the glasses at no charge. Hubby called target optical and they were not very helpful. We ended up going into the store to make an appointment and explain what happened with proof of previous rx from Costco. They made him an appointment and said they would fix it. Hubby goes in for the appointment and they fix the screw up. And guess what?! The Dr. Wants to charge him for seeing him again...wow...really!? It was their mistake this whole thing happened to begin with...after some arguing they agreed not to charge. Needless to say...don't waste your time here. They are unprofessional and will cause you so much run around. Never coming back again! read more
