The optometrist was good with my exam. I didn't have an issue with the exam. My issue is that upon calling them they told me that I was all covered and that they accept VSP. I get there and it pretty clear on my benefits plan that it was up to 60* co pay for contact lens fitting and 10* copay. I was charged $80 without an itemized receipt and later told by the receptionist that they aren't in network when I was about to order my contact lens. Mind you I have a $150 allowance for contact lens. She proceeded to tell me that two boxes would cost me 140 plus tax. I respectfully declined and told her I would order elsewhere as I can get them cheaper online. I called 1800 contacts to order and realized that this business put a "hold" on my allowance benefit. It was the old bait and switch if you ask me. I was able to call VSP directly to fix this as I didn't authorize or had any interest to order lenses with this optical. It was as though the receptionist made sure if I didn't use my allowance with their business I wouldn't be able to use it anywhere. I've never had this happen to me and normally never go elsewhere for an eye exam but my current optometrist didn't have any availability for another two weeks. I thought it would be important for others to know so it is documented if they do this to anyone else.

The staff is, for the most part, helpful and friendly, with some being better than others. There's the occasional checker who completely ignores us as they check us out, but most of them do understand basic customer service. They have the usual things that you find at any given Costco, except, they never have the Kirkland Organic Cotton pajamas that my family and I have become accustomed to buying from Costco. This particular location always has pajamas for the whole family, but it's always polyester or a polyester blend, but never any organic cotton. This is a disappointment for us, especially because the polyester is priced similarly to the organic cotton pajamas that we're used to, but without the comfort and breath-ability of organic cotton. Also, they do not carry Horizon Organic milk gallons, which is another item that we're accustomed to buying from Costco, but this location has never carried it, in the couple of years that we've been shopping here, in fact, there are a few things that we're used to finding that this particular location does not keep in stock, and so we find this aspect of this location to be a let down. Overall, I'm grateful that we have access to a Coscto, but I wish that they would raise the bar and carry some of the higher quality products that we've always been able to find at other locations.

They communicated clearly, answered questions quickly, and kept us informed every step of the way. A special thank you to our project manager, Jose Gonzalez, who was exceptional throughout the entire remodel. Jose was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. He made sure every detail was handled, kept the project moving on schedule, and always took the time to address any questions or concerns. His communication and commitment to customer satisfaction made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. It's not always easy to find a company that delivers both excellent craftsmanship and great customer service, but they did exactly that. We highly recommend them to anyone considering a pool remodel or upgrade.

Also, given that I worked for this location for over six years, I have too much insight into behind-the-scenes matters. There are still a number of people who have been at this location for 15 years or more. They still care. Theft is a huge problem. Watching customers consume drinks or food that they didn't purchase is annoying. Team Members are not allowed to say anything. That also goes for the pets that don't belong. Do people realize that people are allergic? The store does quite a lot of business, partly because it's on the way to Yosemite National Park. It's pretty much halfway between there and San Francisco. Many tourists stop. The shelves and racks are stocked, but customers often put things in other places, rather than put them where they got them. Occasionally, people will load a cart with frozen food and leave the store. Most of the deals are now on the app. The deals are not as good as before the pandemic but are recovering. Want to make sure you get the deal? Scan the item to see if it's included in the deal. At checkout, scan your barcode in the app. The lines are long all year, and customers are impatient. The cashiers are human. They have to eat and go to the restroom, just like you. Cashiers have to check inside boxes. It isn't an insult to you. Just like the cart full of frozen food, people love to have fun putting stuff inside other items, and leaving. If you have a question about a price, photograph the price and if it is the same product, they will fix it. If you have a price match, tell them. It's interesting that they removed cash transactions at self-checkout after I left the company. They wanted to make cash register 1 at self-checkout lane. Imagine standing there, like a cashier, scanning your own products. The drive-up team does its best to get everything to the customer as quickly and smoothly as is possible. Occasionally, a customer in the store will get to the item before the person filling the order does, and the item has to be canceled in a drive-up order. Generally, the staff goes to great lengths to help customers. They aren't rude, but occasionally, when you poke the bear, you will not like the response.

I have had a total of 5 or 6 appointments scheduled at their Manteca facility, but have only been to 1 appointment. Why? Because all other appointments had been cancelled because they hadn't received the authorization paperwork from my primary physician OR the paperwork wasn't properly filled out. However, did they contact me to cancel the appointments? NO! Either I would show up and find be informed my appointment had been cancelled when I would check in OR I'd call them to make certain they had received authorization and was told no and appointment had been cancelled. They also never contacted my physicians office to notify that they were still in need of authorization. Had I not called the times I did, I wouldn't have known about the cancellation until I showed up and each time, I also contacted my primary drs office and they were ALSO unaware of there being a cancellation or any problem with paperwork. Recently, I had been scheduled for 2 separate appointments for August. These appointments were scheduled back in I believe April or May. So prior to the first of the 2 appointments, since I'd already had problems 2 times prior to my first appointment, I called the day before I was scheduled to come in and found out it was cancelled for no authorization. I contacted my primary providers office and let them know authorization hadn't been received and I also spoke to my physician a few days later while I was at their office and told him this was a recurring problem. I was then told by my physicians office that everything was taken care of and to KEEP my upcoming appointment. Well my upcoming appt was on 8/22, I arrived, waited for the office staff to come back from lunch, and when I went to check in, I'm told the appointment was cancelled when the last one was cancelled. I asked why? I was told because the first one was for the initial testing and this one was for results. I said they can't do the testing today ( this is for Glaucoma) and then set up a secondary appt. for the results? I was told no. So I asked what do we need to do then ? I was told that my physicians office now needed to send a NEW authorization and then an appointment could be set up. The staff is nice, really liked the doctor I saw at the one appointment I was able to go to at the Manteca facility, but their policies and lack of communication are BEYOND! Why, if an authorization HAS been received, can't you honor the appointment that was already scheduled OR AT THE LEAST, contact the patient once authorization has been received, and RESCHEDULE both appointments so that the patient doesn't waste time coming to an appointment that's been cancelled w/o notification and can get a new appointment time on their calendar? It's just SO UNPROFESSIONAL and such a waste of time for the client/patient. I've contacted my primary care provider and asked them to get authorization with another company. My primary doctors office was extremely apologetic and told me they would be working on a new appointment and authorization elsewhere. My advice to anyone in the Manteca area who's seeking to obtain an appointment and their physicians office mentions Center for Sight, get an appointment at their Tracy facility! Yes, it's a bit of a drive but well worth not dealing with the hassle I've endured.

They show no sympathy or empathy toward patients and talk down to those who struggle with English or can't keep up with their fast speech. Instead of being patient and helpful, they make you feel small for not understanding. On top of that, they kept saying my eyesight was really bad and that glasses were useless, which was not helpful at all. The whole reason for visiting an eye clinic is to improve vision, not to be made fun of for struggling to see. They also kept asking the same questions multiple times, raising their voices, and acting like they were annoyed to be doing their job. If you want to be treated with respect and get real help for your eyes, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This place is unprofessional, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
