Please let me elaborate. I love my doctor here but I don't love the practice. 100 stars for Dr.Fuji.He is a such an amazing human here. My rx is always on point- he takes his time to explain everything.Im a very forgiving person and I kept going back thinking things would change. The over book in my opinion-always running behind so I always book to be the first patient. No excuses. My glasses never get delivered on time- always something wrong with it. Always, excuses after excuses. They never answer the phone or return calls. I literally have to drive out of my way to speak to someone. They didn't call me when glasses finally arrive- after months. Its overwhelming. But when you find a good doctor- you just put up with it.:(( read more

My family had been going here for so many years & had never had any problems making any appointments. They had been very considerate in taking me & my kids on same day appointments since forever even after COVID. Until I called yesterday to make an appointment for our annual eye exam. I was given a date for my appointment & I told her that I needed to make an appointment for my kids as well. She was giving me a different day for 1 of my kids & I asked if she could just move the appointment so we could all go on the same day. I was told by whoever answered that they no longer book appointments for more than 2 family members per day. I explained my situation that I am the only parent that can take my kids to appointments, run errands since my husband had a stroke back in 2019. I asked for consideration & instead of asking someone or saying something to explain to me why they changed their accommodations, she told me flatly that she does not make the rules. That was a trigger, I asked her to just cancel the appointment for myself & I will just look for a new optometrist. It is sad that they don't take into consideration the situation of their long time customers. read more

Was very happy with this place until the beginning of the year when I went to use my VSP insurance and was told that I didn't have any money left on my account. Was told that the balance doesn't roll over at the end of the year so I lost the balance that i had. Ended up calling VSP and was told that it DOES roll over to the next year and I was billed for services that I did not receive. Was told to can the office and request a reversal. When i called to inquire with the office no one would pick up the phone. Called for over a week, different times no answer. Made me think if they had call identity, being able to see if it was me calling so had my friend call, phone was immediately answered, I called.... No answer!!! Had to go down to the office to finally get some answers, was then told they billed my insurance by accident Had them call VSP while I waited so they could put my money back on my account. Told them can't believe this is the way they treat their customers. Asked to speak with a manger and ofcourse she was never in. And now that I read all the other MULTIPLE complaints that are very similar to mine. I have read of others that they billed their insurance "by mistake " when services were never given. Very sad that this office is allowed to run like this. My family will be moving to another office that appreciates their clients. read more

Felt rushed when we went in to choose new glasses. Was told pick up was a later date when went in to pick up glasses after two weeks. Was on hold for 15min every time I called. I had just spoke to someone and was told otherwise, that they were ready (so that resulted in a second trip) Picked up glasses and wasn't given an eyeglass case(who does that)! The reviews don't lie, waiting time is terrible, it's like they don't understand the purpose of an appointment, they send dozens of incorrect text messages to you, yet don't call you or text when your glasses come in. The doctors have been great but the practice is trash. First trip 2022, waiting about an hour to be seen even though I purposely scheduled an appointment right after their lunch. Called multiple time to follow up with them to see if my glasses ever arrived... they had, nearly 2 weeks before I finally just showed up at the offer to ask. Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was a flukey bad experience. 0-1 but staying positive Trip 2 2023, after nearly 6 months of text messages telling me I was due (in which I wasn't but maybe its just an insurance scan on their part so you come in and have to pay OOP?!) I was seen after about a 30 minute wait - okay doing better. Ordered new glasses, waited 3 weeks and stopped by after my first experience to see if they were there. Again, they were, but no one called to tell me. 0-2 and beginning to think this isn't a me problem Final trip 2024 - Best wait time, only about 20 minutes. Still longer than it should be when you have an appointment, but doctors offices don't care about your time so fine. After my appointment they charged my insurance for contacts they couldn't order, but never called me nor let me know they were unable to order so I waited and waited. Finally called to speak with someone about the error. TWO WEEKS LATER after multiple follow-ups I waited on the phone while they resolved the issue with my insurance, but getting the Rx so I could order the contacts on my own was like pulling teeth. Send it secured email, mail it to me via snail mail, do whatever you want but that's MY Rx, give it to me in whatever way you can. I've been trying to get ahold of someone since August when this all went down, but have yet to be able to order new glasses because I'm still dealing with correction issues from their error. i've been coming here since i was in high school and now that i'm an adult and left the area i will plan my trips here in manteca to visit family and make sure i set aside time to come here. i've attempted to go to two other providers and didn't get the same level of care or an accurate prescription. my appointments here are fast and they have a great selection of frames. the only downside is contacts and glasses do take a while to arrive. read more

Dr. Stellhorn is amazing however, his associates and staff are rude and unhelpful. I have had my families appointments there and the last 2-3 prescriptions were incorrect and I was given a lot of push back to have a reevaluation or get my old prescription and the office staff was rude and disrespectful. I have called the office several times and the phone is never answered and I always have to go into the office and then have an attitude when I'm asking for assistance. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!! Horrible customer service and even worst business practices. Made an appointment for Saturday, November 4 at 10:30AM with Payton. Drove from Los Banos to take my son only to get there and this establishment be CLOSED! And they even have a sign on their front door that states "Open first Saturday of every month from 8AM to 2PM". Well that was total BS!! And when I finally called today, and spoke with Britney and she tells me that they no longer open on Saturdays. But did I get a call to move my appointment? NOPE! Nothing. If I could give this place --0 stars I would. This UNCOMPASSIONATE doctor refuses to provide Sign Language Interpreters for the deaf for his deaf patients who repeatedly request it and need it to understand and access their health care. ABOMINABLE! (Not all deaf are the same, some need ASL interpreters and some do not. If they need it, he straight up says No.) This is simply because he is selfish and does not want to pay for it, although the ADA federal law stipulates that providers need to give access to communication in the way that patients request it. This man is also in violation of the moral and ethical Hippocratic Oath that he took when becoming a doctor. He is 80 years old, and acts it. Anyone this selfish, who lacks compassion for his most vulnerable patients, who has made his living off of these patients, should be a person you RUN AWAY from. My husband and I had appointments today at 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. I left work early to make the appointment. We arrived on time, the receptionist immediately charged our credit card for the visits, and handed us paperwork to fill out. We then sat in the waiting area, while another family was also waiting. 40 minutes into our wait, still nothing. Finally at 3:48 p.m. we asked for a refund. The clerks struggled a bit to figure out how to do it, but they eventually succeeded. No apology, no reason for the ridiculous wait, no offer of a reschedule. Find a different location to get your eyes checked and purchase new glasses. No customer service....none. Stay away. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had an appointment today which I thought it was for 8:30 only to be in formed that it was for 8:15 I arrived at 8:25 only to be told that I have to reschedule because I was late and they only allow 15 minutes grace period I said well technically I'm within the grace period and the receptionist said their 8:30 appointment had arrived. So u telling me my entire visit would have been 15 minutes long. I also told them their website states they don't open until 9am so I thought my appointment time was wrong and I would have been sitting outside waiting on them to open. They just lost a customer and my family business as well. NEVER WILL I COME BACK HERE. They're too many other places in the area to go to. I will also be sharing this review on Yelp. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Went for a glasses/contacts appointment and prescription in September, doctor got my prescription incorrect not once but twice and to this day can't get it correctly. I've been taking time off work for contact lense fittings a total of 6 times since then with no luck. Their machines are so outdated that one of them wouldn't work for me at all after 3 attempts and 2 techs later. Equipment didn't work for my high prescription. I've been dealing with headaches due to blurry vision since November since the glasses prescription is also incorrect. On 1/18/24 I Finally decided to go somewhere else and ended up paying out of pocket. I called to see what i could do about a refund since they couldn't help me but when I call my phone calls get sent to voicemail or get picked up and they pretend they can't hear me. Manteca Optometric genuinely and truly care about their customer's ability to see! Their entire staff worked together to help in ways that no other optometrist in my hometown of Tracy would. They literally helped my granddaughter to "see" with new glasses. The staff went above and beyond to deal with insurance issues and patience with eye glass selection. Called both insurances and was told by them that a prescription was not summit to the for payment, so I do not have new glasses. He took his time with me, talked to me, didn't rush me, was very personable, knowledgeable, and was extremely thorough to try and find out what was going on with my vision. This office seriously has very bad customer service. My brand new Marc Jacobs (and expensive) frames broke and I called their office to replace my frame under warranty. I was told that only lenses are covered and the frames aren't. BTW it took me 6 tries to get anyone to even speak to me! After I repeated that new frames typically always have a year long manufacturers warranty, they said they will put in a request for new frames and I should contact them in 2 weeks. It has been 3 weeks and I have been calling them so many times, I am pretty sure they have not taken any action yet! No one calls back, people who pick up the phone do not know anything, and the managers do not call customers back. I have been without glasses now for over 5 weeks and this office will not help me. I am so disappointed and inconvenienced with such bad service! I will call their offices and let them know about this very bad review and rating I have given them! Was referred to this office by a friend who get his eye checked yearly & frames every 2 years. I had recently went to Costco for an eye exam and was not pleased with the selection of frames and the lack of knowledge the Costco employees had in regards to frames and lenses. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome by a gal Amanda who help me search for frames suitable for me as per my vision and facial structure as she explained. Another gal that I believe her name was Desiree/Des helped with a second pair of glasses which are to be Sunglasses. Unfortunately, the ones that I had selected were not compatible to my vision due to the larger lens/shield. Currently, my prescription & vision have astigmatism, and the larger lens would conflict with two different prescriptions per lens. I was unaware of that and makes sense cuz past sunglasses gave me headaches and certain angles was blurred vision. Thank you so much to the staff there for your patient education and humble service. We've been coming here for quite a while. So far, I haven't had any bad experiences until today. I ordered a pair of Rayban sunglasses and they called me today and said my order was ready. I went over there to pick up my order. One of the employees helped me retrieve my order. But she just handed me the sunglasses without a case and without mentioning anything. I said, "Excuse me? Where's the case for these?" She said that they ran out of Rayban cases and she offered me an off brand case. Why should anyone take an off brand case if they ordered brand named glasses??? In the first place, she never mentioned anything about not having a case. She just handed me my glasses as if it was nothing. Very disappointed!!!!!! read more

I had an awesome experience here. From the check in to the pretesting, to the exam, to buying new glasses! I saw Dr. Truong this time. I was hesitant because I normally see Stellhorn and Fujii, but she was very sweet, had a good sense of humor and was very thorough in the exam. She is very knowledgeable and answered any questions and concerns I had! The lady upfront Ashley, was very friendly and helpful with helping me figure out my insurance because it changed without my knowledge and I was still able to be seen! The nurse who took me back to do the testing, I believe her name was Hannah?, was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She was very clean, which made me feel better and appreciative due to this stupid COVID-19 virus! The young lady who helped me get glasses was very helpful and helped picked out a stylish frame for my face! Although the prices are a bit high, it's worth it! I got my glasses 10 days after my exam. They said 7-14 business days and I got them pretty fast in my opinion. The optician did great and I was very satisfied ! The ladies and Doctors at this office are awesome! ***update*** Unfortunately my update isn't to add stars for this business. I've now gone from 3 stars down to 1. After being loyal to our local businesses, I've finally had enough with this one. We love the Doctors here and the staff has really let them down. We called to make an appointment and left a message, a week later no call back. The staff doesn't seem to care about customers or losing them. I really wish the doctors all the best and they get a staff that can support their business. We've been coming here for over 7 years and love supporting our local businesses. All the Doctors here have always been friendly and professional. The staff up until recently was great and very helpful. Andrea is great and wish she and the Doctors had better support. My wife and kids ordered their glasses 6 weeks ago and they were told their glasses would take 7-10 days. My wife's glasses took about a month to arrive. My older daughters glasses came in just under a month, but the frame arms were different, one has a sheen and the other was dull. My youngest daughter received her glasses around the same time as my oldest, but the frame was in the wrong color. The replacements took two weeks to receive, but that's because of consistent follow up. I called in to follow up and I was told by the front desk that nothing was received. I asked to speak to Andrea and she said they literally were delivered while on the phone together. If it wasn't for Andrea, who knows how long we would've waited to get a call. We have decided to come here for the exams only, but take our prescriptions to another local office to order our glasses/contacts. I hope the Doctors read these reviews so they can see there's a lot of frustration amongst good customers that care and hope their under trained staff gets the training they need to be successful. read more

Manteca Optometric Eye Care Center exceeded my expectations of the worst optometric center to ever exist. Everyone from the front desk to the specialists were incapable of doing their job. The lady at the front desk apparently could not answer the phone and the doctor gave my daughter the complete wrong prescription. There would be multiple occasions when I needed the prescriptions to be faxed to different eye centers so we could purchase contacts or glasses, but the receptionist would be unprofessional, forgetful, and insufficient in even so much as sending out a fax. They were not able to track or provide an ETA on glass arrivals and received multiple incorrect information. Overall, the customer service was terrible and I would not recommend coming here. They should invest in some air refresher as well. In summary, after back and forth, we were able to get corrected glasses and contact prescriptions after 3 months. read more
