The team at VisualEyes, Manteca was fantastic from beginning to end. The scheduling, reminders, and pick-up process were all seamless, with text reminders for appointments and pick-up availability. I visited with my husband to get a couple of progressive glasses for the both of us. The staff was thorough with the necessary examinations and very accommodating. Dr. Nguyen made me feel comfortable with the eye drops needed to dilate my pupils--she's fun! The selection of frames is excellent, and I quickly found a pair of Ray-Bans I loved. Jolene assisted us in choosing our frames; she was very helpful and efficient. We were told the glasses would be ready in 1-2 weeks, but they arrived in just one week. Jolene also ensured our glasses fit perfectly at pick-up. As a first-time progressive glasses user, I felt they did an excellent job helping me find the best option. I had my annual exam today for my prescription for my glasses. There is some street parking, but also a parking lot next door so pretty easy to park. They keep the front door locked so you have to knock and you have to have an appointment. I have not worn a mask for a year, however they are still requiring one so please wear one. They do have them available if needed. When they called me the day before to confirm, I wish they would have reminded me about the mask and I would have brought mine. The ladies at the front office are very nice and efficient. First you go into a room to take some test. This is them taking pictures of your eye, testing your peripheral vision and measuring. Then the doctor will take you into another room for your exam. Dr. Nguyen is so nice, friendly, knowledgeable. She has a great sense of humor and makes the visit very easy. The Dr. was great. Her staff not. I am due for another exam and will not be seeing them again. I did not want to write a negative review but now that I'm looking for another place I will. Upon arriving I had to knock on the door and they opened a little peep door. That felt odd. But hey it was end of Covid and there was lots of fear. I wore a mask. After exam I went to pick out my frames. The older woman did t help me at all! She stood at the doorway and spoke to me from there. I called them to ask if they arrived. Usually you sit at a table with the older woman or someone fitting you. Checking for the bi focal lines ect. Not that day! I was handed my glasses at the door. That was the worst experience ever. The girl told me they were closing for lunch. That's why I couldn't go in. My apologies to Dr. Nyguen. She's amazing, this is not a reflection on you. It's the staff you had when I went. Oh, my glasses, the prescription wasn't good for me. I paid for the darkening, but that didn't happen. I had to use the old pair. read more

I moved to Manteca a year ago, and I'm so glad I found this office. Dr. Nguyen and her staff are amazing! I just got back from my appointment. My experience was great from start to finish. The staff is super friendly, and Dr. Nguyen is a blast! Great sense of humor and makes you feel comfortable throughout the exam. Bonus: They text for appointment reminders. I went to VisualEye for an appointment and the doctor examined my eyes, and gave me a prescription. When I received the glasses the prescription she gave was not working at all, so I called to ask for a retest, and was told that the doctor knew what was wrong and would correct the prescription without retesting my eyes. So the new glasses arrived and I picked them up. There was a slight improvement, but still not right, so I called again. This time I was told the doctor would be notified, and they would call me back and schedule an appointment. That call never came, so I'm stuck with a set of worthless lenses that I paid a lot of money for. Oh well.. read more

I was a new patient and had an appointment for me and my daughter, which means I would have been there for over a hour and was scorned by the staff that there are no bathrooms for patients. I spent over $400 for display glasses that were scratched up. I don't like to do business with people that are dishonest. The original Optometrist who was at this site decided to relocate to Stockton. I didn't wanted to drive all the way to Stockton so I was looking for an Optometrist in Manteca. One day as I dropped off a package at the Manteca Post Office on Maple Street, I looked across the street and saw a giant blue eye. That really caught my attention so I walked across the street and peeked in the window of "Visual Eyes Optometry." Since I was already there I decided to drop in and asked if Dr. Hahn Nguyen was accepting any new patients and if she accepted my insurance (VSP). The Staff is super friendly and answered all the questions I had. In addition they did not "push" me to make an appointment but gave me a card and said to call if I would like to make an appointment. So I made an appointment right there and then. Next day I arrived to my appointment. First time meeting Dr. Nguyen. She is SUPER NICE and FRIENDLY! She made me feel very comfortable and took time to explain everything that was asked. She even took the time to explain what my insurance cover for exam and contact lenses which is something that Staff usually do! Overall my first office visit at Visual Eyes was AWESOME! The Staff is very warm and welcoming and Dr. Nguyen is stellar in her profession! I will definitely come back! I highly recommend giving Visual Eyes a try. read more

Terrible money grabbing place. They upcharge you for everything and not to mention once they use all your insurance up they give ZERO crap about customer service. My son got his eyes check at this place and he was given a trial set. ONE SET first time user with contacts, he ripped them the following week and when I called to let them know they did not care about helping, I had to FIGHT for a second set trial bc "its not in stock" or "they dont have it handy" so they prescribed him one close to it. It obviously did not work and he had to go 2 weeks until his prescription was filled and ordered. ON TOP of all this the front desk ladies didn't even bother to go over what is covered how much and all the details you think they should go over with new patients. After much frustration and me having to take time out of my day to keep them on top of their job, they finally do something right and order his prescription... WRONG WRONG WRONG. They order the second trial prescription which is not his first prescription. SOOO not only did they max the insurance out make me pay 80 dollars more out of pocket expenses, they try to make some lame excuse to why the messed up. Wouldn't even take the blame with how careless they are with ordering the wrong prescription because someone didn't wanna do their job. My son is stuck with the wrong lenses and what they offered was "Hey lets waste you and your sons time some more and try to correct what could've been prevented if we actually did our jobs correct the first time around." Heres a tip: DO NOT GO THERE. and thanks a lot for taking time out of my sons school day and my work day. Gotta call our insurance and let them know how this placed literally f'cked us. read more

Wonderful office!! We needed a new optometrist since moving to Manteca. I looked on Yelp and decided to give this place a try, I am so happy I did. They were able to get us in at a perfect time for my schedule. They put all three of our appointments back to back. Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and very thorough. I really liked how well she detailed everything. She even offered me a new contact that had never been offered in the past for my dry eyes. I love it! Both of the kids felt very comfortable and at ease with her and she made them laugh. I do not remember the lady's name that helped us with glasses/contacts at the end, but she was very informative and patient with us as we decided what to do. She showed us many options and let us know upfront what the cost would be. From the moment we walked in and were greeted until the moment we left we felt very comfortable and not rushed. I like how they matched my working hours and day off availability. they do have the best reviews in town. i honestly did not care for the Dr that is filling in. She did not introduce her self when entering the room, i thought she was an asst. she was trying to force eye drops in with out explaining what they were. I did not gain trust with her this way. she did not even use soap when wwashing her hands to put my contacts in. initially she came in and washed with soap, not introducing herself. After touching equipment, as a dr and your toucing mucous membranes, id prefer you to wash with soap again before doing so. Front staff seemed more personable, i hope the Permanant Dr will be better, or i will leave. read more
