Instead, I left feeling like my appointment was an inconvenience and that my concerns were not taken seriously. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but the combination of the long wait, rushed examination, lack of communication, and poor customer service made this a very frustrating experience. For $200, I expected much better care and professionalism & a more in depth conversation about my eyes. Even when I got the trail pair to have to test they still came out blurry and she didn't even have the ones I actually needed available for me.

I was told that an employee at another metro optics location had submitted a claim for someone else under my insurance, which meant I wouldn't get my glasses. I then called my insurance company and filed an insurance fraud complaint. After making numerous calls my insurance was reinstated. To make a long story short, this location is very unprofessional and racist against black people. Because it's no way that I should have to wait this long for a pair glasses, especially after the insurance fraud issue. I believe that management at this location is personally delaying my order. The owner(s) of this business obviously do not have any standards for their employees. I definitely would not recommend this business to anybody. In fact, I plan to explore the option of filing a lawsuit against this business for insurance fraud and unnecessary pain and suffering.

I was buying these without any insurance coverage, since I my insurance only allows either glasses or contacts within one cycle. So, exam was $65 with the purchase of a year's supply of lenses. They have some 1 year for $29 deal, but I have astigmatism in one eye, so I never qualify for such bargains. The woman in charge was apologetic about that & when I expressed that I didn't have a lot to spend, she dropped the required year for me & said 6 months would be fine. I was still concerned about the costs, & the optometrist who examined me noticed this, so he gave me a full exam & then sat down with me & the manager to go through exactly what it would cost. With my expensive, gimpy eye, the price was still a little steep for me, & she ended up dropping another $100 or so. What has often been quoted to me for around $500+ was about $250 in total. The price was obviously a huge plus for me, but even if she could not have gone lower, I would have liked this place enough for 4 stars. The staff was so friendly & made me feel so comfortable with asking questions & taking my time. I've had such pushy, rude experiences at other lens stores, & this was the complete opposite. The store is located in the K-Mart plaza on White Plains Rd. I don't know what insurance they accept, but it was great for a no-insurance situation.

The young lady worked her magic and made my mom feel comfortable during that initial consultation when my mom brought her Rx. What's great is that Kenya speaks both English and Spanish fluently- which my mom felt at ease. Cost was a factor and thankfully my mom's health insurance covered the entire process both the frame+lens. She loved her previous style and color frame because it complimented her so well and her insurance allowed her to select a brand new one (she kept the same frame style) with the appropriate lens. We were given at least 10 business days for us to pick up the glasses- and this last visit, was perfect yet again. Kenya is smooth, showed compassion and what's more, my mom didn't feel hurried.

This is my second exam with Dr. Bernstein. I grew up with his father,(who doesn't remember me,) In any case both exams were handled very professionally. He is a great guy who explains exactly what is being done & then fully explains the results of the visit. He takes his time & answered all my questions. Happy he is so close to my house. There are frames on display, easily reachable and mirrors everywhere to see how they fit. The staff has separate work stations, it allows for privacy and a chance to go over your insurance coverage and plan options if selecting eyewear. My daughter's appointment was handled by an assigned staffer and she was very helpful in showing us new frames. She immediately grabbed a handful of frames that fit her face and was extra selective on color choices after hearing my daughter's preferences. We tried plenty and took our time. She never rushed us to make a decision and we were never pressured to buy anything. When it came down to two frames, one didn't sit right on her ears, the staffer requested the frame technician to adjust them for us. This way we could make a real decision based on comfort and fit. All in all a pleasant experience. As usual! (This is our fourth year coming to this location). A quick review of the Optometrist on site: Dr. Cho is very patient and speaks to my child at a level she understands. He is very thorough and never rushes through the charts and overall exam process. He is personable and talks through each step so the child is comfortable with each apparatus. He asks questions related to the wearer and always checks if the eye wear is worn properly. I highly recommend Dr. Cho for the entire family. We've been going to him for the last four years for each of our care.

Wow, amazing service. From check in, retina testing, eye exam and glass fitting. Everyone is so nice here and the service is top notch. Highly recommend, and actually told my parents they need to come here on their next eye exam visit. The thing that I also like the most was doctor was very informative about my eyes and when it came to glass fitting, I loved that there was no pressure on getting any specific frames they were pushing. It was very comforting that the person who helped me just wanted to make sure I like my glasses. Pricing was also very easy. She gave me options and was very transparent with what was covered and not. Again there was no pressure at all to upgrade lens to make them thinner so really appreciate she just wanted to make sure I was comfortable with whichever option I chose.

I had such a bad experience here for my recent eye exam. Not sure if it was the car salesman at the front, or the Eye doctor's fault. I basically needed cvs readers, but I wanted progressive lenses. I have insurance with full coverage. I was charged almost $700. I knew something was wrong. I checked my insurance when I got home and all of it was wrong. I had to bring in proof for the salesman to come correct. The guy said my bad, and refunded me $300. He knew just what he was doing, I gave him my insurance card. When the glasses came in, it was the wrong prescription. Couldn't see at all. So I then had to come in for another exam to correct the mistake. With a different eye doctor. I was crystal clear with both eye doctors. They are readers over my contacts. Over a month later, glasses came back with a line on them, not progressives. So they were sent back again. When they finally came in, 3 months after original appt, the prescription was off. I couldn't see up close, I had to pull back to see. Which is the reason I came in to start with. I left with the glasses, bc who can deal with this incompetency for a 4th time. Here I paid $400 out of pocket for glasses I can't use. He never adjusted the price for the wrong prescription lenses he sold me from the start. Meanwhile I shouldn't have paid more then my copay for this whole ordeal. Yet they try and make you feel like they are giving you a deal with their SPIEL! Spin the wheel for a discount, after I extort you. Place is a joke!

Two weeks later no contacts, and instead of ordering contacts they only ordered glasses. I asked about the contact lenses. They had not ordered them nor had they any recollection of my having ordered them. Wanted to charge me again for contacts and or give me a prescription to get them somewhere else. My down-payment was $380.00 for what was supposed to be contacts and readers with a inexpensive frame. I refused the glasses without the contacts that were my primary reason for going to this optometrist. After a long and unproductive conversation I am giving them a negative review.
