Had an amazing experience, 10/10 would recommend. Showed early for my appointment with Dr. Binh Nguyen and was received well and was processed quickly. Let the staff know I was coming for glasses and had Moses and Clinton help me. They were extremely helpful and and made enough light hearted jokes to make the process fun and easy. After having been to Costco and Sears it was refreshing to not have folks breathing down my neck to get polishes and plans and more expensive frames. I've never had prescription glasses before and so, it was with great trepidation, that I approached seeing a doctor and dealing with the issue. I selected this Target because of its reviews and now, here I am. I scheduled an appt and came in not knowing what would unfold. The entire staff, including Dr. Nyugen, were all great. Smart, courteous and helpful. I was guided through the process professionally, both before and after my exam. The Dr. was thorough, explained everything so that I could understand and then gave me options. I chose to have the lens made through Target, instead of Warby Parker, not just because of cost or convenience, but because I feel the service was and will be commendable. This isn't my favorite place to go for prescriptions but I have to say the customer service I received recently was incredible! I had ordered contacts and after deciding I needed a different prescription I asked for a refund, which turned into a full time job, however, Moses was so wonderful at helping me get a refund. He called to check in with me to make sure I received it and once we discovered it had been sent to the wrong address, he continued to work to get me my refund and called me before I ever needed to call them to make sure I got it. Dr. Thuy Nguyen was fantastic. I went there based on the reviews about Dr. Hsu, but there's no drop off in quality with Dr. Nguyen. Extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable. She's somewhat chatty, but almost all the talk is information for the client, and delivered in a way that's empowering and easy to understand. She's all business AND very friendly... which is tough to pull off in my experiences. The sales department is very nice, but they are what they are -- salespeople. The 10% AAA discount only applies to a contacts sale that'll cover a year (something they conveniently fail to mention at the get go), and the ONLY Acuvue Oasis boxes available are 12 packs (Target online has the 6 packs, but no matter... I was going to buy a bunch anyway). And use your AAA card for the exam. You get $10 off. read more

my optometrist is cuter than your optometrist.... i did not find any frames i wanted...face my head is huge...but there is some possible finds if you look... the optometrist name is Dr. Amy S. Hsu..shes a real pro and is quck with out missing any details..after she goes over the exam with you so you are clear about your eyes. its $50 bucks for an exam...all ya need now to go over to OLD FOCALS and find some cool frames... than go to HAPPY EYS to fill them... Horrible experience. I went in for contacts; the "fill in" doctor gave me a trial pair to try on that we're suppose to be my prescription....they weren't! She told me I could see how they were and come back and order them in a week....that's wrong! I had to order them right then and there. I spent a week with wrong contacts; not being able to see correctly. It was bad. I never got a prescription of my lenses. I was told that if I bought a years supply of contacts I would be getting a rebate. I DOUBLE checked with Adrian as he was placing my order. (I have astigmatism, most of my stuff is expensive and not on rebates unfortunately.) he reassured me that I would not have a problem getting the rebate and he put the rebate form with my file. I was only going to buy 6 months worth, but since I had the rebate I figured hell why not it's worth it. I go to pick up my lenses last night, not one mention of the rebate to me. I found it kind of weird, but I was tired and wanted to go home as I had been working all day. I go to check the rebate this morning and sure enough the contacts that I wear are not valid as a rebate!!! This was the first and ONLY time I will ever use Target Optical. Dr. Hsu is awesome and gets 5 stars in my book. What is not awesome is the terrible and just down right mind blowingly dumb service department. Double check everything they due because without a doubt they will screw it up. From giving me the wrong glasses to overcharging to double booking appointments. The doctor here is amazing. The staff not so much. They can't even give you the right appointment day. My 2 year old has an eye infection and I made an appointment for her I see the dr. The girl who answered told me it would be for today. Guess not! She apparently doesn't know her days. And when I called the guy that answered had the odosaty to laugh at my situation. read more

This place is just okay. The actual optometry appointment and doctor gets 3 stars, the staff selling the actual glasses/contacts gets 2 stars. They'll get you in fast, you'll get a prescription that day and if you want contacts, you can typically walk out of the store with them, so in that sense the convenience is nice. They're not super professional, though, and they tried to pressure me into buying more contacts than I needed (I insisted multiple times that I only needed a 6 month supply). They'll do the job, barely, if you're in a pinch and need an appointment fast. Otherwise, take the time to look up an actual Optometrist and you'll get better service and be better taken care of. Never again will I buy anything from their service department. I spent nearly $400 on a pair Oakley semi-rimless frame with their Hi-Index lenses and after 5months of use, I dropped it today on tile from a distance less than shoulder height and the right lens chipped. Talk about bad quality, I bought a pair of lenses from Stein optometric 7+ years ago, and have been through so much abuse but are still are fine. People here are incompetent and care nothing but making a sale. The guy says to me. After first 3months, the entire frame & lenses have a half-off insurance. Which I will need to pay $200 for a new pair where the frame is still in mint condition. I just need the lenses replaced. I am done with this place, so should you be too. I only like Dr. Hsu and associates who do a great job in helping me with my prescription. read more

I recently went in to get a new pair of glasses. The selection was decent as I wasn't expecting too fancy for Target. The staff was impeccable. They were kind, courteous, patient and worked well as a group. Both Moses and Ryan were so professional even though it was busy. Gaby called me to let me know my glasses were ready for pick up sooner than promised. Moses helped straighten out my previously purchased from Target glasses and made sure I had cases. I have to echo the folks who state that Dr. Hsu is great, but the service department is lacking. They really are. While they are nice and seem to mean well, it appears to be a poorly run operation. I never got a call when the remaining half of my contacts order came in. Had to call and ask about it. Not a horrible problem, but not typical of good customer service. The staff at this Target Optical gets six (yes, SIX) stars. Everyone with whom I interacted at this Target Optical was extremely pleasant and helpful. A special shout-out to Clinton, who's always eager to go above and beyond; everything from repairing glasses he didn't even know I'd bought at Target (no charge!), to thoroughly going over every detail of my order(s) to make sure everything was just so. Great selection of eyeglasses and great prices, too. I deducted one star because, as other reviewers seem to have experienced, the eye exam I had here resulted in a prescription that wasn't quite right. I switched insurance and had to find a new optometrist, so I read online reviews. I'm so glad I did, because I discovered that Target has a great optometrist! I brought my own vintage frames, but they had such an amazing selection of frames themselves that I decided to not only get my new glasses, but to buy my first ever pair of subscription sunglasses (which were at a big discount). Everyone, After my past experiences here I'd advise everyone to stay away from this place. They are scumbags and liars. Especially the people working at eye glasses sales area. They are very pushy and disrespectful! I went in thinking I would have a good experience and that the employees would be polite, but it was the complete opposite. I had gone for an eye exam first with their optometrist who is great by the way she really took the time to explain everything to me as a new patient. She was very understanding and I liked her a lot, but what I did not appreciate was when they sent me over to the sale area once my exam was done to talk about buying glasses. One of the sales people ANNA was so rude to me she kept rushing me and being impolite. At first she approached me asking if she could assist me with picking out glasses and I respectfully agreed to let her help me. So, we began looking but I didn't see anything I liked until she rushed to my side holding a pair of glasses and told me that they would look great on me. I tried them on and agreed that they looked good, so we talked pricing and I couldn't believe what I heard $500 dollars for a pair of fucking glasses! ANNA come on! That is way too expensive so I told her I'd come back another time just to get her off my back. Long story short just save your time and money and don't go anywhere near this joint. And if you decide to try it out don't go anywhere near ANNA she's the blond elder Armenian woman. I already reported her to the TARGET manager for disrespectful uncourteous customer service. After just a few visits I can honestly say I HATE her now. She definitely ruined my eye glass experience. read more

Target Optical nor the Optometrist office bothered to tell me they were not providers for my insurance. AFTER my exam I had to pay a hundred dollars and they told me all I had to do was submit a form to my insurance company and the insurance company would reimburse my out of pocket expenses. The doctor and Target Optical kept trying to pressure me to purchase contacts and glasses on the spot. I insisted I wanted to wait until I spoke to my insurance company before I paid another $300-400 out of pocket. Good thing I did. When I called my provider they told me Target Optical and their doctor's office were out of network and they'd only be reimbursing me $24 of the $100. I went back in and raised hell. Target Optical said it wasn't their problem because the doctor's office ran my card and the doctor's office said Target Optical should have made it clear prior to my exam that they didn't accept my insurance (they never mentioned it even when trying to get me to make additional purchases they knew my insurance would not be covering). After raising enough hell and having everyone stare at me the doctor's office agreed to refund me my money, but took my prescription so I couldn't it anywhere else to have it filled which, according to my friend who is a general manager of a optical store out of state, is illegal. At that point I just wanted my money back. I will not be returning to Target Optical of Burbank where they intentionally misled me. The sales associate even went as far to say she wasn't going to say anything until it was time to ring me up for my glasses and contact purchases, that thankfully, I didn't make. read more

I called the company and said they never even received the information from Target Optical for my reimbursement. Fantastic. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much either-- I worked for a great optometrist a few years ago and also had a separate, outstanding local practice that I adored. But without vision insurance and working inconvenient hours, I figured I couldn't be too picky. Chose Target because the hours are convenient for someone working long days in Entertainment, and wanting to get an appt in a relatively quick timespan. Not only was it for late evening (6:30) but they offered to take me that very day or the day following. Yes please! Dr. Binh was fabulous, very quick, efficient and positive. She did everything right, and embarrassingly enough, I should've been in to see her long ago! Had no idea my eyes had gotten so bad. She fitted me with a new pair of contacts immediately to try out and good Lord, it was like I was in my first pair of glasses, the contrast was so stark! Then let me tell you about Moses, who is a ROCKSTAR. What an employee they've got there. He's the Optician who helped me picked out the glasses, and let me tell you, helping me choose frames is basically a Herculean task because not only am I fussy but I've also got a face that doesn't do well in 98% of glasses. But I've decided to get a pair that I actually wanna wear outside, so that meant Moses was tasked with the responsibility of utterly honest fashion advice. And he was spot on. He was funny, chill, and honest-- which basically leads to the fact that, as I type this, I'm sitting in a new pair of glasses I look fabulous in. I've gotten COMPLIMENTS even. Because I wear them in public. Because they actually look pretty hip (now, now, youths-- that's right, I got a big-framed pair to identify with the "happenin" crowd). And I love them. What a great place to get my glasses! I walked in one day, on my way to grocery shop before work and was on crunched time, so I wasn't sure if they'd be able to see me. They got me in and out super quick and they were so friendly! I was so thrilled with how helpful they are, as well. The woman there (I cant remember her name) was so sweet and helped me pick the frames that looked best for me and even explained the monster discount I was going to have! They have great sales and the customer service is spot on. I got my glasses in 2 days, they arrived on Christmas eve, which was perfect timing for my post-holiday traveling. Great place for glasses. My mother needed an eye exam and new glasses so I took her to Target Optical and was happy I did. Making an appointment was super easy even for a first time customer. For the day of the appointment, everything went very smoothly and quickly. After checking in and filing in a standard form/questionnaire, they took my mother to get her eye exam with Dr. Ngyuen who was super sweet with my mother and made her feel relaxed and comfortable. The exam was quite quick and immediately after, we decided to buy some glasses to have the newly made prescription filled. Everything is done in the front corner of the store (next to the pharmacy). The glasses selection is not huge but had more than enough to choose from for my mother. We were helped by both Clinton and Moses. Moses helped my mother find the perfect pair of glasses on a previous visit and Clinton helped us the day of the exam and glasses ordering. Both were super professional yet friendly and fun to talk with. The whole team was super and my mother is happy with her new set of glasses. read more

HIGHLY recommend not stepping foot in this place. The Dr. was great, but once you make your way over to pick out your glasses, just keep walking and tell them you are NOT interested in purchasing your glasses from them After reading all the reviews (which I did after I purchased my glasses...big mistake), I decided to make a follow up call. When I purchased them, I was told they would be ready anywhere between 7-1o business days. One day I tried calling for 15 minutes and no one picked up in the department. The next day I called and was on hold for more than 10 minutes, so I hung up. I called back right away and they finally answered. I asked if I could get an update on my glasses (wanted to make sure they were even ordered). After giving my name the girl gets back on the phone and says "I'm not sure when they will be ready". So I asked if she knew an approximate date and she replied "no". I then told her that on my paper it gave a specific date and wanted to see if they would still be ready at that time. She asked for my name (after already giving it to her), and was on hold for a couple more minutes. She got back on and said they will call me when they are ready. I asked if I could get a specific date and she then gave me the day after the expected due date. I am just really confused on how this place is still open after all having very similar stories. The customer service is pathetic and lack of communication is horrible. Spare yourself some time and stress and go elsewhere. read more
