The optometrist was very nice. BUT...They would not let me get trifocal glasses. Later i learned from my insurance company that I AM allowed trifocals. I begged and they said no. I never write bad reviews anymore but I feel like this place needed it. I don't know what happened to this place... The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because I like the manager guy who works there. But there's all of these young, entitled little girls working there now. The optometrist the last time I went there around a year ago was great! This last time I went it was a young girl probably in her early 20s, she was super condescending to me during my appt when asking me questions about my vision. If I didn't answer something the way she liked she would repeat the same question again but super slow. I'm 42 and she was speaking to me like I was in my 90s. She came off as arrogant. When I made the appt I asked 2x if my appt would be covered by insurance, both times they said yes and even called me back to assure me. After the appt they said I owed them around $90 and I didn't understand why. They said it was because I got a contact fitting appt too. The thing is, nobody discussed this with me before the appt and told me I'd be charged more money. I payed, got annoyed, came back, and asked if I could give them feedback to help with clients In the future. I told her with the next clients they should let them know before hand if additional costs would be charged.. instead I felt like they did a bait and switch on me. They did an extra exam, didn't tell me more charges would incur, then told me I had to pay. I was so nice when I told the girl this. Instead of just listening she got super combative with me. I reminded her I wasn't there to argue with her I was just trying to help with her other clients so they wouldn't leave upset like I did. She didn't give 2 shits to listen. Long story, but I won't go back there Again. It's like they hired a bunch of little arrogant girls just out of school who've never worked customer service in their life. Dr Nguyen did an extensive eye exam, and Moses is always pleasant and patient, and answers all my questions, as I wander around all the choices for frames. This is going to be a very unusual review (and unfortunately I didn't ask for any names) but I just wanted to give a quick shout out and thank you to the two opticians that helped me the other week. I decided to pop in on a whim before I did my shopping because of some major headaches from my new glasses. It's my first pair with the rubber nose pads on them and they were triggering uncomfortable eye strains. I asked if they had smaller pads I could buy and replace, thinking the smaller profile would be less noticeable in my peripheral. They said no problem and that there'd be no charge. I asked if it was okay even though I didn't buy my frames from Target. They said it wasn't an issue and were happy to help out. I didn't think it'd make a huge difference but it surely did! I've been wearing the glasses everyday since without any problems. They originally had the longer D-shaped pads. They replaced it with circular ones and I hardly even notice/feel them. I know I wasn't given "special treatment" and that they'd likely do the same for anyone else. Still just wanted to say thank you for being so kind about my random drop in and helping out. I came in with my brother to get his eye exam and everyone was very friendly and professional. I asked if they knew of any frame repair shops that they could recommend. During a pickup soccer game I had a little run in with the ball and unfortunately my glasses were bent during our little encounter. After explaining this to Moses, he said that he could actually fix them here! And he did just that! It took less than 10 minutes and now my glasses feel great. Ok, so I rarely get involved in technology or posting a review, but I had to for my excellent experience with Target Optical and with the amazing Dr. Binh, Nguyen! Let's get a couple of things out of the way: -Making an appointment was super easy, pleasant and convenient. -Price was great, and I didn't even bother checking with Kaiser to see if they have their own eye doctor. -The technology and level of care were on par with what I would want from any eye-doctor. Now for the real review. I needed to get a script for a medical clearance and hadn't been to an eye-doctor since 2009 when I did Lasik with a very well known eye doc in Laguna Hills/Beach, CA. While I was happy with my service there in 2009, I was impressed with Dr. Nguyen's level of attention and thoroughness. I had horrible vision growing up (it would weaken every 6 months) and my parents chased every eye doc in LA, so I have a ton of experience with them. Dr. Nguyen was so detailed, so concerned and so accurate that she will be my eye-doc for life. I'd rather pay out of pocket than to have my insurer assign me another doctor. Showed up for my appointment and was told I would have to pay FULL PRICE for exams and nothing was covered with my insurance. I explained that the doctor was listed as a provider and that I made the appointment thru my insurance. They refused to accept and would only see me if I paid the entire cost myself. She took the time to listen to my concerns...performed some advanced tests on my eyes then spent extra time explaining the procedure and the digital images of my eyes. The staff was also pleasant and friendly. Not alot of wait time if you make an appt. Small selection of eyeglasses. Call FIRST to ensure they take your insurance and what services are covered. Dr. Amy Hsu is awesome. I would give her 5 stars. It's the service/product that lacks awesomeness. I paid almost $400 for a pair of glasses, lens and 1 year warranty. They coated my glasses with something i did not ask for nor pay for. The coating began to rub off and the lens is completely blurry. They refused to replace them but did offer a half off discount. The lenses are shitty quality. I have owned many pairs throughout my life and this has NEVER happened to any of my lenses. I do not recommend the glasses at Target optical to anyone. $400 down the drain. read more

I am pretty sure Target Optical wouldn't care about my review. But i am just writing it to let others know. Sales rep (Customer service) Moses was wonderful. He was polite, patient, and helpful. But the rest wasn't too great. 1st - The tag on the sunglasses said RX, sent to the company and later got a call saying the frame was miss labled and they could not put prescription. Had to go to the store agin to choose the replacement. 2nd = prescription was off. Not once but twice. We used the prescription that was given by Target to get new glasses from elsewhere because it was cheaper at other place. But since the prescirption was off we had to change the lens on the glasses 2times. We also had to pay extra to get eye check up from elsewhere (Where we got the eye glasses) and paid extra. This costed us extra money and extra time since we had go back and force to target and to other optical. I wish we had never gone to Target and just went the the shop where we got eye glasses but oh well. We leared our lesson. read more

Many times a week, I am asked, "WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR GLASSES? I LOVE THEM!" Now, I could lie or just refuse to answer like that dude on Seinfeld, but instead I cheerfully reply, "Target!" "TARGET HAS GLASSES?" (Yes, I only talk to people who speak in all-caps!) Target DOES have glasses, and an optical department! And you can actually get an eye exam here! I only discovered all of this because I was killing time while a friend looked for frames, and I happened to try on The One True Pair of glasses. And I was sick of wearing contacts and needed a new prescription, so it seemed like perfect timing. Within a couple of hours I was leaving Target with freshly-examined eyes and an order for the cutest glasses I've ever seen (at a lower price than I'd ever spent on glasses previously). The eye doctor was professional and very friendly, and the whole experience was really easy. Less than a week later, my glasses were ready! A couple notes: *They are ALWAYS having sales. I got panicky that the glasses I wanted wouldn't be on sale a week later, so I sucked it up and bought then, but when I went back they just had A DIFFERENT sale, would have cost me about the same amount. *Their optical hours are MUCH shorter than their regular hours, so I would call ahead. *They will ask you if you have optical insurance. They will NOT ask for proof, just give you a discounted rate. Do with that information what you will! read more

She has NO people skills what so ever. When I was getting ready to leave I heard her chastise her last appointment for being late, and she was going to leave without seeing her. The poor woman was so embarrassed, and said, I did call your staff to say I was running late. I mean SERIOUSLY?? Why does this woman feel she can shame people?? When I finally got the call that my glasses where in , and I went in the store to pick up, I was told they were MISSING!!!!!!! WHAT?????!! Where did they go????? It wasn't until after I paid for contacts that they told me I wouldn't get them that day and they couldn't tell me when I would receive them. Every time I call or visit this Target Optical location, I get let down. Since I live closer to this location, I give it way more chances than I should. It's consistently been lacking in quality service since I began my patronage to Target 5 years ago. Without fail they keep hiring clerks who either talk fast without using much thought, don't understand English OR Spanish, don't understand how their own system works or all 3. When I get frustrated - as I always do with these people - I throw my hands up, and take a "special day" for the drive over to the damn Target Optical on LaCienega Blvd because they're department is somehow 100 times more organized, efficient, and just plain more pleasant than the Burbank location. After failing my eye exam from my last ambulance driver's physical, I am now required by law to wear glasses (sigh). So I needed a place that I could afford and came here. The eye exam at an affordable $59 was, I think, well done. It was rather quick; felt pretty rushed, but effective. Wished the doctor, Dr. Nguyen, spent more time listening than rushing. But my perscrpition came out perfect! Anyways, I then took the perscrpition next door to purchase my new glasses. The selection was pretty good and the prices where just about what you'd expect them to be. However the best thing is the deals! I took advantage of the buy one, get one 1/2 off deal. That was great! I was able to get a pair of Oakleys and then a pair of polarized Ray Bans for 1/2 price, so happy! They were kind enough to help me choose a good style for me at my price range too. The glasses took about a week to arrive. I definitely recommend this place for your needs especially if you like Target in general but do a little research and come in when there are deals. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Hsu. I had some problems wearing my contact lenses for more than 8 years. And believe me, I've seen my fair share of eye doctors during that time. They all had a different product or lens they wanted me to try but it never solved the problem. Dr. Hsu asked a lot of questions and figured out what was going on the first visit. I am eternally grateful! She is so smart and such a good listener! I've only ordered contacts from Target Optical and so far so good! All my orders arrived really quickly.
