This is one of the cleanest and most convenient locations I have shopped at. The store is always well organized, the aisles are spotless, and it is easy to find exactly what I need without feeling overwhelmed. The Drive Up pickup is always fast and efficient, and employees are consistently friendly and helpful. The location is also perfect since it is right near Trader Joe's and HomeGoods, making it easy to get all my errands done in one stop. This particular Tarjay:) is my favorite! And too many people obviously feel the same way because it is ALWAYS busy and crowded. The inventory is always updated and plentiful. For the most part it is clean and organized. With so many customers coming and going they have their work cut out for them maintaining the aisles. The customer service is courteous and professional. I appreciate that. Even the in-house Starbucks is pleasant with nice and patient baristas! The liquor selection is quite varied. I buy my favorite On The Rocks drinks there and all flavors are always stocked and at better prices than the Grocery stores. Woohoo! We came into Target tonight with a very specific iPhone 13 in mind. We went to the electronics department, and an employee named Remy was on. Remy completely went out of her way to help us out and to get us set up with the exact product that we needed. We needed to get in and out of the store with that specific iPhone 13 and she made sure we did exactly that. Phone was up and running in no time after we got home. The Folsom Target has drastically gone down hill in cleanliness, customer service and general store tidiness. Attached are pictures of the women's restroom at est. 4:15pm. I alerted a store associate and was told "It will stay like that until the night crew comes". I understand it's incumbent upon the patron to keep this area clean but there should be options to make a space useable during the day. In trying to move through the store for my items, the women's active wear section was in complete disorder and there wasn't a store associate in sight. Things haven't improved at Target, which is a shame. 1). This morning there were exactly 2 registers open. I had only a couple of items, so I thought, great time to use self-checkout. There are 4 self-checkouts. But guess what? Only one of those was open (and in use)! What? WHY close self-checkouts, ever? Let alone 3 of 4 of them. Do you NOT want people to checkout? 2). I came with a cloth bag to pick up my order. Too bad! The order was already bagged, and the clerk did not want to unbag the few items and put into my bag. He said if he did that, he'd have to throw away the bag anyway (even though there were no markings on it, and it was in fine shape). I used to love this store, but now it seems like the employees just Throw things on the shelves. None of the items are in the correct spot and the item that's supposed to be there, can't be stocked. I used to get pick up orders all the time and never had an issue. Yesterday I did a pick up, When I got home to unload, I was missing more than half of my order. Customer service here is extremely unacceptable. Barbie in returns/exchanges needs to have a serious talking to about how she approaches her fellow coworkers, along with customers. A young man made an honest mistake that was on my friends behalf, and she was acting as if we were committing a crime just because a mistake was made. After a heated confrontation, she continued to have at it and then spoke to my 2 year old daughter like we weren't standing right there which is beyond disturbing and unacceptable. some people aren't meant for customer service roles and she is one of them. read more

This review is for the Optical Department ONLY in this Target location. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Target had an Optical department and how knowledgeable and helpful the staff was. I went to the Target in Folsom, CA and walked into the Optical department initially to look around and ended up ordering 2 new pairs of glasses which I had recently gotten prescriptions for. I worked with the department's manager, Belrous, and he was pleasant, informative, patient, honest, and extremely helpful providing options for costs, styles, and products. I love this target, but this review is about the Starbucks that is in this target. You do get free refills when you order and want to go back for the refill. Today I was denied a refill because the worker said it was only for teas and cold coffee's which I ordered a cappuccino because typically he would get a refill with a cappuccino because it is under a hot coffee, which Starbucks approves for free refills... Don't come here if your in a hurry. You have to wait to get things unlocked for ten minutes audibly hearing team members say go away as the alert to help you goes off on the walkie talkie when the person was quite literally doing nothing but standing there on their phone when I walked over... I honestly do not like this location as much as the one in Rancho Cordova. Some of the shelves are often not very nicely stocked at this location, unlike Rancho. Especially cosmetics, bath products and some grocery items. I have also noticed that this Target is also not very well air conditioned, which I hate especially during the summer months. And it's kinda stuffy in here during the holiday season too, to the point where I feel like I have to take off my jacket regardless of how cold it is outside. I also feel like they went too far with the remodel a couple years ago by moving everything around, which the Rancho Cordova store did NOT do when they remodeled. For example, the men's clothing section here is smaller and tighter than at Rancho. I feel like there is not as much selection of men's clothing at this location. read more

They have a giant sign for returns and exchanges and a solid 20-30 feet away a sign for "registry and order pick" I had an order pick up - so I stood under the sign for order pick up. Meanwhile the line for the return and exchanges continued to mount up. After waiting there for 15 minutes one of their brian dead employees said: "Sir - do you have a pick up? There's just one line" I pointed out that I am standing in front of a desk immediately under the sign that says pick up. And she says: "well there's just one register." 1) Why the hell would have an order "pick up" line (a relatively fast process) queue up in the same line as returns and exchanges? (a relatively slow process and sometimes complicated process like the lady who was there today and requires the assistance of three separate people to sort out her issue? 2) There is a pretty substantial gap between the pick-up sign and the return and exchange sign - there is even a gap in the counter space in between them and a doorway in between them. It quite clearly looks to have been intentionally designed so that customer who are picking up can just pick up their damn order without needing to wait for a half an hour behind the returns and exchanges people. This target is nice and clean with plenty of parking. I like the remodel as it enables the store to sell more products although it will take some time getting used to where everything is. Almost like a walmart without the negatives of walmart. However, this target seems to be overly aggressive and nit picky about coupons and price matching. I get it, I worked at target before and I know there is coupon fraud and forgeries but it seems every other time I go and legally print coupons or attempt to price match there is some form of hiccup. Not sure if it is because I am a minority but I did not have problems at the target I used to work at. One time the cashier stated that they do not price match amazon prime exclusive pricing (which is true). The common person would not know how to prove that the amazon prime pricing is not exclusive since most people are signed in to your amazon prime account on your phone. In order to "prove" the price is the normal amazon price copy the url link and open it in an incognito tab. Another time, the cashier refused to accept printed coupons (against official target policy) https://help.target.com/help/subcategoryarticle?childcat=Coupons&parentcat=Promotions+%26+Coupons when I called for the GSTL, she also stated that they do not accept printed coupons. It was not until I mentioned the target coupon policy that she decided to accept the coupons "this one time" as a favor. I know people commit coupon fraud by making copies of coupons but the way to check is that there is an unique code on each coupon. Lastly, the target.com price is sometimes cheaper than the instore price. It is very inconvenient and disingenuous that I have to double check their own website when the cashier rings out the product that the price is the same as the online price since I plan my target trips online. TLDR use incognito tab to verify non amazon prime pricing; reference the target policy; double check target.com pricing; Do not commit coupon fraud as it ruins print coupons for everyone else. read more

This is the biggest Target in the Folsom + El Dorado county area. It recently under went renovation. Changes you will see: -lights are brighter -there's a second smaller seasonal area near the door. Right now there are several Sun Squad items (that are 20%), summer wines, lawn chairs, pool supplies, and large containers of pop corn kernels (drive in movie, or project one in the backyard and watch from your pool?) -the makeup section has been made to feel more like an Ulta -the clothing section feels like a H&M, with two different fitting areas. -they have a decent liquor, wine, and beer section now. -The toy section has stepped up its game with a cool Lego sculpture in the middle that looks rather Instagram worthy + several interactive playareas including a heat sensitive/ color changing wall, series of speaking tubes, and lots of cool other things to discover. Seems like this section goes on and on, so you may want to prepare yourself if you're going in with kids or a husband. -There's a section just for children's books. Next to that you'll find a big display for the most recent kids merchandise thing, right now it's Toy Story 4, before that it was Minecraft. Everything feels more interactive and enticing. I have to remind myself I'm on a budget, especially when I got to the Stranger Things merchandise in my size (July 4th is so soon! ). Target definitely has the family with small children niche down with smooth rolling shopping carts that are perfect for putting a baby to sleep. A baby section that's very well organized, with competitive prices. Their breast feeding policy, is to let mother nurse undisturbed in the changing rooms. I bought a pair glasses from the Folsom store, and at the time of purchase, they informed me that I had a warranty for free replacements. Sometime later my glasses, we're scratched, and I inquired in regards to the warranty and what I should do. The lady said there was no warranty and there's no free replacements. I informed her this is not what I was told. She said there's nothing that she could do. So I went onto the Target website to fill out a store experience form on a link. I then later received an email with a link to file a claim. I use the link and was sent an email by LensCrafters. They said that they have nothing to do with target optical and they would try to reach out to the store manager to help. Today I received an email from LensCrafters with the following statement from the regional manager of Target, Danielle. "Hi, Please close the loop with this guest. This is a guest that has a history with consistent issues (all notes in his file) and how he communicates with the team is hostile. He had two remakes due to him not understanding his rx. He did not redeem the WFPP previously. Appreciate it and thank you, Danielle" All the statements in this message were lies. I did not mistake my RX and did not have them remade. I had my lenses replaced under the warranty for free because they were scratched. The store manager wouldn't even speak to me because they said the optical dept was separate from Target. I'm am not a hostile person. I do not have a criminal record and I take great offense to this statement from Target's regional manager. Very unprofessional and I am still waiting on a resolution to this problem. They have lost customers for life. read more

Service is ok. I go there often to pick up odds and ends so I'm familiar with the store but if your not is not that easy to find someone to direct you. They have a wide variety of just about everything from soup to nuts to auto supplies. They are always busy because it's our Folsom community go to for just about everything. I am sickened by the lack of humanity with all the staff at this location. As I was shopping, I notice a man enter the store that was CLEARLY not well. He was wearing a purple hospital gown, had historical bracelets on both wrists and had scrapes and cuts all over his face. I saw him take off his gown and put clothes from the rack on. I told a team member and she said they "are handling it." The man continued to find shoes and a shirt. Still, no team member was in the area. I saw the security card at the front of the store drinking what looked like coffee. I exited the store and then I saw the man exit the store. I told another team member what was happening and still no one helped. The man walked through the parking lot- no one tried to stop him. I was in my car at this point and called the local police. I gave them updates that lead the police to the man. I know that employees are only allowed certain protocol but I seriously don't think ignoring mentally us stable man is protocol. Came to this Target for the first time this morning. This Target is unorganized, not staffed and their team members are unhappy and just rude. The store is very bare. I couldn't find 4 items out of the 6 I was looking for. Things here are almost double in price compared to Walmart and even Lowe's on cleaning supplies. The young girl with short dark hair that helped me in the self check out this morning , over a sale price, that was posted on circle and on the shelf was rude and argumentative. I popped in for a quick suitcase. Traveling and all. Height of holiday shopping. I've been here before. I expected normal holiday shopping stupidities business. Let me tell you, the staff, fantastic. I didn't know where to find something. Floor staff pointed me to the right place. I went to check out. The front end supervisor, she was ON IT. Opening lanes, moving breaks, taking care of her people, talking to customers. This translated into great customer service by the cashiers. One of the cashiers she called up, said he was the cart guy. He wasn't my cashier, but he was so happy. My cashier, engaged each of her customers, smiled, was sweet. This target is doing a ton of things right. And it's clean, well organized and I enjoyed chatting with my fellow shoppers in line. read more

I ordered from this particular store through the Target app because the two closest stores were out or the product I wanted. I drove two towns over to pick up my order, the product was not what I ordered, there was some kind of confusion with the associate on how to return the item. The two women that brought out the order were SO nice, but when calling to inquire about the issue, I didn't have the best experience with the customer service associate. Once I spoke with Brad, the manager, I had the best experience. He went above and beyond to correct the situation. I'm grateful to know such customer service still exists! Very unpleasant trip, along with the past three trips. I'm a Folsom resident and have been my entire life. I understand the need for loss prevention but it becomes an issue when I turn around and see a worker staring a hole through my back as if I am a criminal. Since moving to Folsom I've been to this Target almost every day. It's always clean and the shelves are stocked and kept well organized. There's plenty of parking and I can usually get a space pretty close to the front. I like how they are supplying masks for customers who forget them and how they clean each cart after use. This Target has a good selection of items compared to other Targets in Sacramento. I like how their makeup department is updated. It's like a mini Sephora! The employees are always very nice. A special shout-out to the cashier Lilly. I bought a bunch of plates and bowls and she took the time to wrap each one with paper so they wouldn't get broken on the drive home. I'm know it was super annoying to have to take the time to do that but she didn't complain once or even seem annoyed at it. Great customer service on her part! read more

I have to agree with all the other reviewers about the remodel. Target is horrible now. Disorganized, stock in boxes blocking the aisles, employees that walk right past you (except for electronics - two separate employees in that section offered me assistance). I try to limit myself to two visits a year MAX. And I only come here because they USED to carry the items I needed. Well, not this time. I specifically needed four items, and they either no longer carry them or were out of stock. So, since I had those gift cards they give you for buying three or more items on your LAST visit, I had to spend those as I knew I wasn't coming back. Then it got even worse. Got in line - three registers open, all very long. Twenty minutes with no movement in our line, the lady in front of me asked if I knew what was going on, I told her "no, but it appears there is something with the people at the front of the line as they are removing some of their items". An employee walks up and asks if we are paying cash. No, not one in our line followed her. Another employee comes out and thanks everyone "for the wait", and hands out $5 gift cards for our inconvenience. Says they are good on our NEXT visit. Ugh...... The lady in front of me finally makes it to the front. She unloads all of her items, and the clerk starts running them through. She looks at the customer and says "you know it is cash only, right?". Lady is dumbfounded. She looks back to me. She questions the cashier for CLARITY. I am flabberghasted also. Cashier tells us ALL of their registers are down, and so it is cash only. Lady in front of me has to abandon her items. I panic, as I have no idea how much cash I have; I usually don't carry very much. I quickly open my wallet and pull out what I have. The cashier and I have to work over the previous lady's items, that customer had many perishables and no other employee came to remove them, although there were plenty wandering around or talking in small groups with each other. So I have to prioritize what I am buying, and the lady runs my items and I keep track of the total as we go along. I was not able to buy everything I had, but I knew Amazon was available at home! I handed her the gift cards from my last visit. She said she could not use those, as the registers weren't accepting them. Ahhhh! She also said the "buy 3 get $5 back" items would not work, so I would have to come back TOMORROW to get that money back. Ugh, no, I don't live near there, and I have a life and a schedule and coming back to Target to deal with their issue is not a top priority. I will eventually go back, when I am in the area and when it works for ME. The Cashier said this happened before. I asked her how long the registers were out then, and she said TWO days. TWO days? I cannot imagine what hell that was for the cashiers AND the customers! I was really frustrated that they made all of us wait, and really shocked that not ONE employee told us (while we were all waiting in long lines that rarely moved) that they were taking CASH ONLY. Target Managers - you should forewarn your customers in line! Our time is valuable, and our repeat business should MATTER to you! Going back to get my money refunded SHALL BE my last visit. I came home, jumped on Amazon, and WHOA! They had everything I needed from Target (that Target did not have) and for a LOWER price. Free shipping to boot, and the items arrived the NEXT day.
