Target, my favorite place to a mimimum of a $100, is cool. This Target was the first one I learned about in the area thinking that there were no box stores in Chicago proper. It's a decent Target. I like the two story layout, but at times, it's dirty and even a little dark. The many times that I've gone here I've been happy with what I found. They have a good selection of everything, not lacking in quantity like some other ones I've been too. It's not my most favorite Target in Chicago, but it does a good job for the Loop. read more

Parking can be really hard to get here. Garage is always full. Very clean, and staff is friendly.

I love Target, so it pains me to write this review. A few problems with the South Loop Target. 1) Annoying public transit accessibility. Sure, it's technically only a block from the train, but it's more like 3 blocks. I'm not the laziest person ever, but it's annoying to schlep all your Target steals more than a few steps, let alone a few blocks. 2) Crazy-ass layout. I can't seem to find anything here. I literally spent 2 hours here, and not in a good way. It just feels really illogically laid out to me, and hailing from Targetland (Minneapolis) I've shopped a lot of Targets. 3) Sad selection. They recently added food, which is nice, but I couldn't find any of the basics I needed. Which means they're probably not basics, but things I couldn't locate: pasta other than spaghetti, fresh mushrooms, fresh broccoli, fresh bell peppers, Italian sausage. They were also lacking in variety when it came to make up bags and aftershave, things that I don't need plenty of, but would like to choose from more than 1-2 brands. Overall it's not broken - clothing seems to have OK instocks and the store is pretty neat, like most Targets. I just don't know if I can bring myself to come back. read more

Compared to the Target on Elston, this place is the Taj Mahal. This Target store is clean, it's never overly crowded, there is ample parking (covered garage to boot), and the store is well organized. And the escalator for your cart is so fun. read more

I enjoy shopping at this target! The selection are plentiful however; some of the employees are not as friendly as others. I have no complaints regarding them. I do feel there should be workshop on effective communication with customers. Other then that this is the target I frequent. read more

I love Target in general. It makes me happy. It's like an oasis of thousands of things you might possibly need in your home that you can go visit and wander through when you're stressed out. At least that's been how I've viewed Target since my college days. I often come home with a basket full of things I probably didn't NEED but that I will undoubtedly use (adorable stickers anyone?). This location in particular is alright, although the multi level thing kind of throws me off. But in a city I suppose they have to maximize space as much as possible. I don't know, just go, there'll be something you need and it'll cheer you up. read more

This Target is not my favorite, but it's right off of the Red Line Roosevelt stop and it has parking for those with cars. It has all of the regular Target stuff. I haven't noticed any high prices. My biggest complaint is the store is unorganized (the two-story layout confuses me) and never consistently stocked. I notice a lot of empty spots on the shelves when I wander around. And like any Target, the sales associates are pretty unhelpful. When I try calling ahead of time for big items (like a Dyson) I have to talk to seven different people and be on hold for fifteen minutes before getting an answer. read more

Meh. This isn't my favorite Target either, but it gets the job done. I agree on how dirty and ghetto it is, but I like the 2-story layout. It can be confusing (why is the men's and children's departments upstairs when you can find the women's department downstairs?) but it's great how everything is so spread out. Too bad the store is dirty and they're usually out of stock on many things. read more

This is a great location and pretty convenient for a number of people in the city. It's HUGE, but I agree with a lot of the reviews that it's not well kept. It is definitely not well-stocked and disheveled. read more

I go to this "Tar-gey" at least once a week. I appreciate the new fresh food section - I did notice that the bananas are usually green, so don't go there for bananas if you want to eat them anytime soon. Only other thing is is that it gets crazy crowded on the weekends. Try and avoid the weekends at all costs. The staff in the pharmacy department is always nice as well. As long as you go during the week, this Target is cool. read more

I love Target....seriously. You can get anything here! =) You can even take a lil lunch break between the hours spent there at the Pizza Hut in the store.....People say its a lil more expensive at this Target cuz it's in Downtown....but I don't really notice it. It's clean and organized...and of course theres a Starbucks in there - what more can you ask for? read more

I love Target. I always get sucked in to buying their cute things. This Target though, is always a disaster. Things are constantly out of stock and so messy. I know they're a busy store, but you run some reports and see you need more people working and you need more stock ordered. I'd rather drive two miles south and go to the Target on 33rd. read more

If it wasn't for the guy in electronics helped me with a carry out and installed it for me right after I purchased the products...I loved the customer service experience he had given me and my daughter. Thanks again. And I love to re explore this target again because they e rearranged everything around lol. read more

I Like Target In General and MOST in Chicago but this place is always out of things, Has alot of RUDE people working there and is not the cleanest store around. My advice is Customer Sevice, Customer Service, Customer Service and then work on the other stuff. Not exactly sure why i gave thias two stars and not one.Maybe because i like the 2 floor setup and the Cart Mover so you do not have to wait for an evevator to get to the 2nd floor and food department i guess. read more

This isn't my favorite Target, but it's the closest one to me, so I don't mind it too much. I love Target in general, so I'm willing to look past the fact that this one isn't as neatly-arranged as some of the others. I think it sees a lot of traffic, so the shelves are often messy and crowded with items. The employees are kind, though, and the check-out process usually goes pretty quickly. It also has a large garage with ample parking, making it an easy place to stop by when I am out in my car. read more

I've shopped this target a number of times, and it's always the LAST resort for me, primarily because it's never clean and shoppers are rude and out of control. Merchandise is strewn all over the place, much of it dirty and damaged, any many times they're out of what you made the trip for in the first place. Compared to the recent experience I had at the State and Madison store, it's not even on the same planet. That store was a joy to shop -- clean, nicely organized, civil, nicely dressed shoppers who weren't shoving each other out of the way. I didn't see one article on the floor or left in a random aisle. (Yesterday, I saw a bag of grapes in the feminine hygiene aisle at a suburban Target. Nice.) Unless you have to...don't. read more

good location in south loop but customer service is terrible. Staff are not friendly and helpful at all every time I go there. I wanted to exchange some items at the customer service desk, there was no line, there were 2 girls and one of the girl was reading paper. They basically gave me an attitude that I bothered their free time. I love the one in downtown state street. Staff are more trained and professional. read more

The WORSE customer service I've EVER experienced while shopping at Target! Where do I start?? First I asked for help as 2 different women workers where something was but their conversation was much more important than helping out a customer! As I looked astonished that I was just totally ignored another guest noticed and also acknowledged the blatant disrespect! 2nd MANY items where out of its location and sales items had different prices. 3rd when I went to check out and 2 of the items(mis tagged) rang up incorrectly while the cashier attempted to get someone to do the price check I literally stood there for 5 min as they all passed on the responsibility of looking up the price that I was so embarrassed that I just told them to forget it and bought it anyway even tho I shouldn't but that was the reason why I was there. The cashier didn't even offer to adjust the price due to their negligence and began to remove the items. Needless to say i will NEVER be back and will be filing a complaint to Corp. and the BBB! read more

i love that they have groceries now! it is too far to get too, but every time i go its like a day-long event! so easy to get sucked in! and now a friend of mine lives nearby so i imagine us going much more often! read more

Beware - today in cosmetics - L'Oreal - scanned price higher than shelf price on two items, which I noticed after I had receipt in hand. Went back to recheck the shelf and snapped a cell phone photo of the posted price. Went to "Guest Service" desk and sullen attendant rang both items in her register and declared them accurate. Faced with the cell photo evidence, she gave me refund. Isn't it illegal to charge a higher price at scanner than is posted at shelf?Well, it should be. Shelf price specifically indicated the exact products. Buyer beware at thisTarget. read more

In terms of their product selection, this Target is acceptable. The produce selection could be more comprehensive and fresher, and the fresh meats and seafood could be more robust. The main issue with this Target is the horrid customer service. The hours of the store are listed as being open until 11PM Monday-Saturday. Tonight (Friday) I wanted to buy one drink at 10:55PM and was rudely denied service by a security guard who asked me if I knew what "closed" means (I wonder if he knows what closed means given that the Target was still under its hours of operation). On a daily basis the cashiers are extremely slow to check out in the lines, and are not very friendly while doing so. If you live very close it may be worth coming here, but otherwise this is a terribly run store. read more

This place has everything...even kanye glasses. I bought a cowboy hat for some reason...think I'm ready for summer??? Incredible. It would be awesome if they were open 24 hours but hey, now i'm reaching. They need more staff walking around helping, if not better clothing options, then again I am wearing the most comfy pj pants i've ever worn in the world, purchased at target. The whole cart/escaltor thing is scary...i think it needs an attendant. read more

Target may the one store I can't live without. No matter how well stocked I think we are at home, I always seem to find myself back in this parking lot at least once a week. Maybe I have some subconscious desire to keep coming back that makes me forget something everytime. Frankly, though, Target seems to have everything! This is the most convenient location for me, and I do like the garage (it's especially great when it's cold and snowy outside). They do seem to be out of stock on items a little more than I'd like, but I'll put that down to the brisk business they're always doing. Either way, it's hard not to love Target. It seems like every clothing and furniture designer is designing a collection for the store, and the result is products that truly belie the low prices. read more

I'm obsessed with Target. This store had the awesome cart escalator and free parking.

It is always a very crappy experience visiting this store from the workers who don't care to help you (or ever offering even) to the horrible lack of stocking shelves when they run out. I have emailed target twice about lack of their issues lack of keeping up with store inventory but nothing improves and you'll often find shelves of various items missing for months. The caliber of staff there too at the South Loop in canal location is the pitts. Obviously the hiring manager hires many of the same lazy workers who barely if at all acknowledge you. It would be great if they could greet you on entering and just ask if you news any help finding anything. Then, if you need help, it would be even better if they would ask you if you need them to show you where the item is rather than sending you on a wild goose chase by pointing to a random section. Also you'll see and have to smell Target workers smoking right outside the entrance in the bench which is not allowed but nobody says or notices it, except the customers who have to breath in smoke when coming and leaving the store. Management to Target, please read this. read more

Waited forever. Sakes person at Starbucks ignored us and then filled creamers before making our ice tea!!! Hate target!!! Won't be back Kendra! read more

There is parking (park on top to avoid the elevator) and it's nice to get many things in one stop close to home. They have escalators for your cart too. I usually love Target, but this one is nothing special. read more

Best Target in the city - not that there are all that many. This one tends to be the most clean & organized, easiest to get in and out of (even during the crazy Christmas season), and is conveniently located so that you don't get stuck in all sorts of traffic just trying to get there (i.e. Target on Elston). I adore this target. Heart. read more

This target is pretty darn big and has a large selection in most of their departments. The two levels and cart escalator offer enough space to comfortably shop among huge crowds, while ample check-outs usually suffice to subside obscene waiting periods. They have a Tarbucks and food available for quick bites as well as a decent grocery selection that seems to get bigger and bigger each month. With plenty of parking and clean public bathrooms (see walking home from Soldier Field pit stop), the Target on Clark is actually a pretty reasonable store with selection among a crowded Chicago. read more

If you live in the more southern part of Chicago and need more than what City Target has to offer, this is where you need to go. Plenty of other shopping in the area too and a convenient location to transit. read more

I enjoy the giant Target, as it is in a convenient location right down Roosevelt and has a great selection. Make-up, medicines, grooming supplies, pet toys, kids toys, clothing, groceries, gift wrap, office supplies, kitchen amenities, and much more are available here. There's a little cafe, an ATM, and large parking lot for your use. They also have a super-neat "cart escalator." Target is a very nicely organized store. I am becoming a bit concerned about the price however. Their clothing prices have gravely gone up as of late (neat as some of the new designs are). A simple women's blazer was $40! And when I went to look for shampoos and body washes, I noticed they had dumped Suave, the only cheap but good brand at $2 a bottle... Everything was in the $4-$8 range. Perhaps Target is trying to milk more cash out of the hip college students in the area but I can find cheaper items without going too far from here. read more

Ok, maybe I was a little hard on South Loop Target. I think the transition into having a grocery section threw this location for a loop. Things are looking up...but I still have my eye on you, Target. read more

I finally visited the store in person to use a gift card -- which I conveniently forgot to use at the checkout. Oh well. Maybe I'll use it online, that is if they have some free shipping on what I want! The store is clean and well organized. The staff, however, is so busy chatting each other up about nothing that they never seem to notice a customer who needs help. I used to find it annoying when a sales clerk asked me if I was finding everything ok; now I miss it. I did find a wonderful torch lamp for $14.99 that doesn't look cheap. Nice! Throws a lot of light, too! The eco friendly lite bulb shows over the top; gotta love that. Despite being one of those new fangled bulbs, it is a nice, soft lite, thanks to a very well designed plastic top that doesn't look like it is plastic. I love it when cheap stuff doesn't look cheap. Then I found a great little door mat for around $3 ... score! I had wanted to buy a $9 water bottle that filters water (now that I found out Chicago's water has high levels of chromium in it). I use a filter pitcher at home, but like to carry a water bottle from home and refuse to spend $1 or more every time I want a drink of water. I was settling for the water fountains, but now ... I'll be filtering my water thru the water bottle I bought at Target! I didn't buy the one advertised (Bobble) because I found a better one in another section of the store for around the same price that looked sturdier and holds more water (CleanTek). I wandered through all the aisles because I hadn't been in this one before -- and noticed that a lot of their stuff is no cheaper, in fact, costs more, than Jewel and Walgreens. I was happy about this, because this store isn't really that convenient for me to get to. It's not bad, but when I can run across the street to Jewel or Walgreens, that's what I'm gonna do! And I also have a CVS, too. I did also find a few grocery bargains which I took advantage of. I'm still wondering how it was that I spent over $70 ... but I guess it's easy to do in that store. I only bought stuff that was on sale that I either had on a list or regularly use. I was able to cram it all in one oversized shopping bag that wasn't embarrassing to take on the train at rush hour! read more

Who doesn't love Target? This place is so easy to get to and the parking garage is HUGE, meaning parking is never a problem! Maybe because I go here so often I know the location of almost everything I need off the top of my head, but I can see how it may get confusing for those who don't go here as much. read more

Free parking, things I want have always been in stock (knock on wood), and sales associates are very helpful. Love Tarjay!

I mean its a Target, not a whole lot to say about it. Friendly enough service. Probably won't visit it again because it is not located near us. Stopped there to pick up spiced gouda cheese that I can't find anywhere else (gluten free). Like I said it's a Target, you can't find what you need there. read more

Finally an alternative Target in the city compared to the North Elston location (I hate this one). It's not as good as the suburban ones that I try to make it to, when I'm out visiting the P's. I'm referencing the parking situation and crowds. There is plenty of parking in the 3 story garage. But a little of a pain if you are on the bottom 2 floors as you have to take the elevator to get to the store. I'm not really fond of the 2 story store either, as I actually avoid making it upstairs. But I guess it helps keep my monthly $100 Target bill cut in half. The plus to this Target location in the city is it is not as insanely crowded as the one on North Elston. read more

This is my favorite Target, "stuff wise". I like the layout, I like their selection, I like the location, and I like the parking situation. The employees though, are another story. I went on what i realized too late was back to school shopping day for every student going to college in Chicago. There were people everywhere; it was intense. What really struck me was how apathetic the staff was. It's like they knew it would be extra busy and scheduled more bodies, but the extra bodies were so excited to see each other that everywhere you look you see pockets of 3 to 4 employees just talking. I had to track people down and interrupt gab sessions when I needed help. Checking out was worse. Ringing was interrupted by excited chatter. I love hanging out with and talking to my coworkers too, and I LOVE that they are all friends - but work comes first! read more

Love this Target!! Checking out is quick most times and the staff is very friendly! Love the variety

This place really moves and it's a madhouse- Im glad this had a lot of check out lanes open unlike other places I've been too. Although the layout of the store was pretty neat with 3 floors the parking garage was terrible- there was no order. There really should be some signs in there that controls the traffic read more
