Costco is an amazing store because there are many items in bulk that are very inexpensive and there are always sales going on as well as free samples. It's very easy to go on an empty stomach and come out of the store feeling filled up with samples. This store sells everything you need. And you can also upgrade on computers and laptops and iPads. They have ongoing sales for anything so you can get lucky on any given day. They also have hot food that they sell for cheap prices. Plus, they have seating indoors plus Free Parking. Costco trips are always fun. And they are multicultural in their selections. They might have Korean, Indian, Chinese, Latin, etc varieties if food at low prices which is amazing. read more

Costco is a new adventure for my lil fam of 3. We F*d target bc of their shady practices. This is actually much closer for us too, so win! Parking has always been packed, however, I've never had an issue finding a spot immediately even when we come mostly on afternoons on a Saturday or Sunday. We never get gas so don't ask. They literally barely ever have any kind of Costco freebies or tryouts for samples. I have a small child. That's literally the only reason I bring them. At the same time it's winter so I'm thankful for that. Lol. Otherwise, everything else is the same great variety great products they have everything and even more online! I had a last-minute return of some clothes & sandals that my husband didn't want. So I ran in around 7:45pm. I understand that the service representative was tired. (I also had a very long day). She processed my return without any issues. I love the fact that I don't need my receipt to return!! Also, I definitely appreciate that their service desk is always in the same area in every location ... parallel to the entryway. What a nightmare. When I was here driving through the parking lot--which took longer than the time I actually spent in the store--it was a disaster. Even more so than when you visit any other Costco. What really made me angry is that people parked in the spot next to disabled spaces that's marked off so that folks who NEED a disabled space can get in and out of their car with as much ease as possible. And those marked portions are rarely the size of other full spaces, so the cars that squeezed in here made it really tight. It continues to astound me how much of a jerk folks can be, and using disabled spaces when you don't need to or blocking them makes me particularly enraged. When I visited I went in for a single item but I couldn't find anyone to ask where in general it might be. I went where I've found the item in other stores to no avail. No one was wandering around except one dude that was taking a shopper to various items (truly--when I walked in he was showing her to one thing, and when I left they passed me in another area of the store) so I just left. Monday at 3:30 it was so packed there were at least 10 parties waiting to be checked out. They have a gas station here, so that is helpful though the lines there are insane too. But it was definitely cheaper than other gas stations around so I stopped here. With all the madness, though, I wouldn't go even a little out of my way to stop here, for gas or the store. read more

Worst Costco I've ever been to. I showed up an hour before closing time on a Sunday and by the time I finished shopping, it was 5:55. I asked if I could still do my return even though it was close to end of day and Esther at the returns desk bit my head off and accused me of stealing despite my having the in-app receipt of the item I was returning. By the way, it was still mobbed in there so it wasn't like my request for a return was what was keeping her stuck at work. Funnily enough, my membership is up for renewal in 3 weeks but I won't be bothering because of her rudeness. I have been a huge fan of Costco for quite some time now, but after the experience I had today I can guarantee I will not be back #SamsClubForever. My mom and I went to Costco today because she was visiting me and I have no car, so obviously I want to go run some errands while I have the opportunity. They way that the staff treated us when we walked in... you would've thought I was entering some exclusive nightclub. They scanned our Costco card (under my dads name), and they wouldn't let us enter because it wasn't my mom's photo on the card so they told us to go Customer Service. We go, and even though my mom had not only the same last name as my dad, the second account on the membership was my grandpa, who ALSO has the same last name on my moms ID. Long story short, even though she could prove that was related to the 2 owners of the card, they tried to charge us $65 just to ENTER THE STORE! Insane. I'm sorry, but that policy just makes no sense to me. In what world would we not be allowed to enter the store that we could very easily prove relation to, simply because we were traveling and my mom didn't have her card on her. Regardless, the experience was awful, and if you're thinking about getting a Costco membership, save yourself the hassle and run to Sam's. read more

The service was ok, but a bit slower than the McDonald's That I reviewed in the 47th St but the reason I gave it 4-stars because of the Hot Dog So I ordered a Quarter Pound Hot Dog (all beef) with refill soda, I put some condiments Ketchup, Mustard, and Relish. But when I took a bite out of that hot dog, It was so salty. Why was the hot dog so salty anyways??? Trying to kill my taste buds???? But I quickly drink some Pepsi to wash it down but Coca-Cola is better but they only have Pepsi so Costco, Put Coca-Cola on The Soda dispenser one day. We had trouble spending our reward certificate. Can't do it at the store. Finally we deposited it in our bank over the phone using our Costco credit card. Costco is great till I try to redeem my $399 reward certificate. My daughter and I have spent many fruitless minutes trying to redeem it using Citi.com. You can't go to the store for it. STAY AWAY FROM TIRE SHOP. They lift nicks and scratches on my rims being careless . Workers will walk past you without checking you out at the Line and go back to shop. Was sitting in the parking lot and saw them throwing the wheels on the floor at times , face first . They don't know how to use a tire balancing machine either apparently or at least it takes them a couple tries to get it mounted onto your wheel and in the process, they just bash the paint on the wheel basically . Manager doesn't seem to care , and if you look at reviews it's pretty consistent . STAY AWAY FROM TIRE SHOP. It's infuriating that I take care of my car and wash detail and everything 1-2 times a week and then a bunch of amateurs trash the wheels on my car "working" on it . Everyone in the shop seems like they hate their job . STAY AWAY FROM TIRE SHOP IF YOU COME AND SOMETHING HAPPENS YOU HAVE NOONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF. Spend an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour and drive to a Costco on the north side or suburbs where people actually care about their job. Seems like they just hire anyone here and it shows in their work And to top it all off, they also left a small scuff on my car which I had to buff out. Always clean, service is pretty quick, employees are very respectful! Have never bought any clothes from this location, but I do love their protein bars. They should have more sizes available in the store like for heavy set people 4x,5x size 48 jeans 50 size jeans. Plus the employees are always upset if you dig through the clothes and mess up their clothes. We love this Costco typically...this review is for the deli/catering specifically. We placed an order for our son's first birthday party and dropped it in their dropbox a full week in advance. Four days later, I called the store to make sure the order was received - they assured me they had the order. The morning of the party, my husband went to pick it up and they claimed they never got the order. They found the order form still in the dropbox and put it together quickly. While we were still able to get all the food to the party just before it started, it made for a very stressful morning...and I even called to confirm since I was afraid that was going to happen. This Costco is comparable to other Costco's EXCEPT they DO NOT have a photo center at this location. What a bummer cuz passport photos are such a great deal at Costco in general. You pay $5.50 (that's including Chicago tax) and you receive 4 passport sized photos. This is a great deal compared to the local CVS/Walgreens that sell 2 passport photos for $15 and they use crappy cameras that produce fuzzy photos. Overall, Costco is great on stocking up on items you continually use, especially if they sell a brand that you like using. It's a great place to get gas for your car and stock on rotisserie chicken, household cleaning supplies and kitchen items, and their food court which always has solid pizza/hot dogs. They always have monthly deals which usually comes out the beginning of the month on their website - no need to bring coupons to the store, it automatically comes off your bill at the end! read more

Love the store but don't buy the phones. I lost some photos on photos on sd card on phone and the Diego was the last person who accessed my phone to transfer old phone info to new phone. He told me later he's not supposed to transfer files one month plus later. I am worried that he may have deleted or transferred two years plus photos. I sometimes go out of state or county to shop to save $$ on taxes, but this was meant to be a 'small' trip. They have a new feature: self-checkout kiosks for the cafe'. Hmm it still seemed pretty hectic there to me! They have to increase staff for something like this. I waited 8 min or so in line for just SODA. They have that machine that prints tickets, and I guess those who pay (credit only) in advance get priority. I may go to the vending machines next time. Location isn't too bad, being near a major street (12th street) but the SLOW commute back to Lake Shore Drive is torture when it's busy! (careful driving to the Ashland location these days, there's construction on the viaduct)! The selection here is good, but the clothing is not as nice or as organized as the burbs. We'd see clothing on a display but right below it, different products. Food samples are plentiful, if you have some patients from people who take 2 at a time! Your best bet may be to steer clear of the frozen food area, too busy and they need 5-10 min to prepare. The dry foods and deli/cheese sections are faster for snacking. Our favorite deal is the Kirkland Vodka, FRENCH variety. It's supposed to be 'Grey Goose' but it's less than half the price ($20 vs. $45 for the brand) and it's a HUUUGE bottle! We keep it carefully in the freezer (vodka doesn't freeze as ice). Another favorite deal is frozen veggies. read more

I realize that there is a great amount of distress by reason of the Covid-19 virus. It should not reflect on any store representatives demeanor. Clean quiet organized. Carts are always available and are clean. Fully functioning bathrooms, spacious aisles and friendly staff. Great selection of goods. Plenty of registers to handle the traffic (accept maybe the peak of the weekend). Fairly well laid out and for many items you can't beat the price. Good prices for gasoline too.
