Worst customer service and selection. The two women working the point of sale were rude, incompetent, and inconsiderate.

Having changed size, I needed a dress and shoes for a party. Oh my goodness I had so much fun…read moreshopping! Nearly three hours. Service was great. Wonderful selection, clearly arranged and labeled. Tried on nine dresses and purchased two that made me look amazing. Deep discounts on everything. Got some purple CROCS, and the kitten heels for the party, and a plunge bra. Fitting room was large, clean, and well-lit. Great prices for designer labels.

This graduation marks the completion of my third advanced degree, a milestone achieved through years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. As a longtime Nordstrom customer and cardholder, I decided to treat myself and purchase a dress worthy of celebrating this accomplishment. During my visit, I purchased four dresses, including a beautiful Trina Turk Tallia dress that I hoped would be the perfect choice for graduation. Unfortunately, after trying it on at home, I discovered that it did not fit. Given the significance of the occasion and the limited time before my ceremony, I returned to the same store the following day hoping to exchange it for a different size or find another suitable option. Although the dress was no longer available in my size, I found an alternative outfit consisting of a blouse and skirt and proceeded to complete my purchase while also returning the Trina Turk dress. During the return transaction, the cashier, Lamonica, informed me that she could not locate the dress purchase in the system. In an effort to assist, I immediately provided my identification and my receipt from the previous day's shopping trip. It was then discovered that the original cashier, Amanda, had inadvertently failed to ring up the dress during my initial transaction. At that point, management and Loss Prevention were contacted. While I fully understand the need to investigate discrepancies and protect company assets, what followed was both disappointing and deeply upsetting. I remained cooperative throughout the entire process. I provided identification, produced my receipt showing more than $400 in purchases, remained at the register while the matter was reviewed, and willingly answered questions. At no point did I attempt to leave, conceal information, or avoid the discussion. In fact, I was the individual attempting to return the dress. Despite my cooperation and despite the discovery that the item had not been scanned by a Nordstrom employee during the original transaction, I felt as though I was being treated with suspicion rather than respect. The tone and manner in which I was addressed left me feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and unfairly judged. What made the experience particularly painful was the context. I was already disappointed that the dress I had carefully selected for such a meaningful life event did not fit. Instead of receiving assistance in resolving what was clearly an unfortunate mistake, I found myself feeling as though I was being viewed as someone who had intentionally done something wrong. The situation occurred in front of my sister, who was visiting from Louisiana to celebrate this milestone with me. What should have been an exciting and joyful shopping experience became one of the most uncomfortable customer service interactions I have ever experienced. I want to be clear that Amanda, the original cashier, was kind, professional, and welcoming during my first visit. Mistakes happen, and I understand that no employee is perfect. My concern is not that an error occurred. My concern is how I was treated once the error was discovered. What was most troubling was the absence of empathy. No one acknowledged the inconvenience. No one apologized for the confusion. No one recognized that I was a loyal customer attempting to return an item that had not been properly processed due to an internal mistake. After my purchase was completed, I was left to bag and organize my items myself, further reinforcing the feeling that I was not valued as a customer. As a longtime Nordstrom shopper and cardholder, this experience was heartbreaking. One of the reasons customers choose Nordstrom is because of its reputation for exceptional customer service and its commitment to treating people with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I had. I am sharing this feedback not simply because I was disappointed, but because I believe there is a valuable lesson here. Procedures and loss prevention protocols are important, but they should never come at the expense of basic customer care. When an investigation reveals that a discrepancy resulted from an internal error, customers deserve acknowledgment, professionalism, and, at a minimum, a sincere apology for the inconvenience. I hope this experience serves as a learning opportunity for everyone involved. A simple expression of empathy could have completely changed the outcome of this interaction. Instead, a day that should have been filled with excitement and celebration became one marked by embarrassment and disappointment.

Nordies in Chi…read more.. I'll be honest not even slightly sure if I stepped into Nordstrom right on the Magnificent Mile as I solely came for Jellycats and heard that they're having a pop-up in Nordstrom I was excited to give it a peek since I was conveniently in the area lol! Nice huge storefront it was a very busy place though walking in there was a lot of construction going on so it was a bit difficult to navigate around and noticed several shops which is where I begin to question if I was in Nordstrom at all...then probably it was The Shops at North Bridge though when I approached the line to enter Jellycat I noticed E Bar right across which is Nordstrom do I guess it's connected and the same. I had a pleasant shopping experience regardless finding various shops amongst the grand of Nordstrom is very different from other locations yet cool vibes of uniqueness that is Chicago. Thank you!

I recently went in for a complimentary free styling session (booked online) with Megan. She took her time with me and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The bathrooms are spotless and the salesfloor is pristine.

Goth Target…read more.. That's what many call it and yes it was on my list to see for my own eyes as picture sure didn't do it justice. As we walked around searching for matcha we noticed that here we are lol you just can't miss this stunning building as Chicago is filled with historic buildings that can't be altered I believe which is why you don't see much signs outside some of the older buildings. This Target is just stunning though yes it's just on the outside as the inside is no different from any others this two level store does have Starbucks as well. As soon as we walked in it was fun to see the "Chi" items for the fans though the layout is a bit unique probably with the shape of the building as I had to ask a staff to find a product which price was on markdown the certainly did come in handy as there were some items that we needed to shop for and to have them here was a fun discovery to see and shop. Thank you!

The shopping experience…read more.. First of all I thought we were shopping at Nordstrom and as we entered the building I noticed various small shops one after another and said that this Nordstrom is like a mall....here we are The Shops at North Bridge right in the midst Magnificent Mile of Chicago. There are multi-levels filled with various shops and it seems to be not in but connected to Nordstrom as the dividing section seems to be the Jellycat and E Bar. There are escalators along with directory is provided though at the moment they seem to be under construction but getting around has not changed but just finding some of the shops was more the issue for me personally since I don't know the area well but with a bit of luck did find Royce Chocolate which is one of my favorite bougie treat that I shop for in Japan is a great find that I'm thrilled about. Thank you!

Looked like a mall with potential with many options and stores with Nordstrom as the anchor. I did se great deals and sales displayed. The restrooms are spacious and clean and saw many seating or rest areas to relax and enjoy as you walked the mall and many charging stations available. It's not clear exactly what renovations or construction was taking place but scaffolding took over the entire mall making it harder to navigate and ruined the esthetics and vibe of what the mall has to offer in my opinion!

Once in Bloomingdale's I was looking at crystal and other fine items. As I continued through the store I spotted the store manager. As he walked by me he avoided eye contact. I said 'Hello'. He walked by me close enough to almost brush my shoulder and said nothing. I proceeded to another department and spotted a clerk. He walked towards me again avoiding eye contact. I said "Hello ". He turned to me and said "Oh, hello" and walked past me. I'm feeling invincible! I watched bothe the sales clerk and manager go to two different young couples that looked like Barbie and Ken. The said "Welcome to Bloomingdale's, may I help you find something?" Infuriating! I have been profiled. I was ready for a pleasant experience and to spend lots of money. But they judged my wallet by the way I looked. I am worth a few million dollars and was ready to spend some of it! If this happens to me, I can only imagine how many other affluent customers they've lost by 'profiling'. Big Mistake! I will shop at Neiman's and Sak's!
