Rude staff, including managers. Manager rolled her eyes when i asked if they can take plastic clips off of their bra so i can try which size is best for me since they were clipped with plastic to the hanger! She said " normally people don't try on bras" oh really lol???? because I think that's the most tried on thing on the planet. Then she tried to put me in a dressing room that had some kind of dried liquid (reddish brown on the seat) . I pointed it out and said I didn't want to be in a dirty dressing room.. no apology just mumbling to herself as she put me in a different room. Then when I'm trying on the bras in the changing room, a male employee without knocking, unlocked and opened my door. I have no problem with the other Nordstrom locations, but this one is terrible and I think it's the Management. read more

I love Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom is one of the only places I can find shoes for my big feet, and buying them at the Rack means I get a discount on big feet shoes. Yay! This Nordstrom Rack is smaller than a lot of other ones. It's two stories, but the first floor is just luggage and small accessories like gloves and the second floor has the standard departments, just seemed a smidge smaller. I was chuffed to see they had a particularly large big foot shoe section and also very happy that there was nothing I was so desperate for that I needed to spend any money. I'd come back but it's not very convenient, so I don't know that I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Extremely dissatisfied, and unprofessional staff! I am from out of town celebrating a solo Birthday trip, and I came here shopping over a hour to treat myself since it was nearby my hotel. After purchasing, My cashier Sylvia decides after her subpar customer service, that she was going to chase me down the elevator and embarrass me in front of other customers because I didn't put a shopping cart back!! She threatened to call security on me, (as I was walking away from her) she got into my personal space and was using a very loud tone that I wasn't comfortable with. She treated me as if I were a thief, called me pathetic, and told me I was inconveniencing everyone it was extremely humiliating. All I can do was look at her and ask her was she serious? I was in total shock and on the phone with my dad who whom I highly respect and he couldn't believe that this was a staff member speaking in such way. After I left I came right back to return everything! I refuse to spend my money for someone to chase and chastise me over a shopping cart after I spent my hard earned money there. Will not be back! I went to Aritzia and the customer service was way better, and I got a fabulous dress for my evening there instead. read more

Juuuust off the Magnificent Mile. Check out the Rack on this one! This department store is surprisingly large. They have a large second floor that's accessible by escalator. It's seriously like a block off the Magnificent Mile - this is what I always imagined one of these 'lesser' stores to be like- just behind the real one. When I came in here, the place was pretty well picked up, the merchandise was attractively displayed, and I got a few questions if I needed help finding anything. It's a nice store! Their selections are deep- with lots of options for things like belts and wallets. Their leather selection was pretty deep. Prices are much better here than at the regular Nordstrom, but they have things like last season's stuff. But if you're buying stuff like belts or socks that don't go out of style too fast, it's a great place to go. They could use more chairs or benches. read more

I usually hit the rack on Canal because it's more convenient for me with free parking, however this day it was nice out and there was a space close by so I thought I'd check it out. If you're in the market for workout clothes, leggings, sports bras, and shirts this is the place. Well stocked, and good pricing. So much more than the Canal location. I also found a jacket here too! Super courteous cashier, will make my way here when I need workout stuff. read more

I bought sunglasses from this location that broke within 5 uses. I went back to the store and the associate and manger did not even try to help me since it was outside of the return window. It was the lack of care that really upset me. $300 sunglasses should not have broke after 5 uses. Do yourself a favor and do not shop here, unless you want to buy broken sunglasses! I've been a loyal customer at Nordstrom but will not shop at a Nordstrom Rack again. read more

GREAT Rack! The only other one I have been to that was slightly better was the one in downtown San Francisco. This one has a lot of designer clothes and shoes so that was great for me (not so great for my wallet). Lots of merch in the store. Purse selection is a little weak and the jewelry selection even worse but I didn't mind because I wasn't in there to look at their one of those categories. Glad to see this on the near north side. This is one of the best organized, well - spaced and clean Nordstrom Rack branches that I enjoy visiting. I am not a huge shopper at all but this is one of the stores I check out for gifts to give on occasions or to pick a few clothing items because of the neat and calmer ambiance, I don't feel rushed or cramped. Deals are good and customer service is nice.This place had a nice selection of designer stuff - not the dregs like some other smaller cities. Nordstrom Rack offers a huge selection of apparel for women and men. When they have a clear-the-rack event it's pennies on the dollar for garments, shoes, designer bags. The store is jam packed with racks AND shoppers. Expect lines. Handicap access but don't recommend trying to shop on weekends during a sale, hard to walk in the aisles. Items are returnable/ refundable with tags attached and receipts up to 90 days. Very generous policy. Overall, I had a good experience here. Good deals and some items were even on clearance. It's really nice place to shop. Worth taking a trip to visit! read more

I had the best experience at Nordstrom Rack Magnificent Mile Chicago. Was in from out of town, needed a jacket for a business meeting, found exactly what I was looking for at half the price of other stores in the area. During the visit, I lost my cell phone. The staff was INCREDIBLE in trying to find it. The contacted me with security, advised me what my best options were. After a couple of hours they made the effort of contacting me via email, saying they had found it. Amazing service! They saved my trip. Big callout to Maria Barnes and her team. read more

I always have a pretty good luck at finding great items in this Nordstrom Rack location. I'm a Nordstrom Rack regular and a Nordstrom cardholder. I always take my time going through racks to racks to find anything and everything, without any expectation whatsoever. Today I found a Union Jack neck warmer for $20 by the Madena brand. I know it wasn't the best deal you can in the cold-weather accessory department, but I'm obsessed to anything with the Union Jack pattern. Of course I ended up getting it without any compromise. Hubby and I have been having an eye on a couple of watches by the Original Penguin. They were marked down even more, for approximately $5 less, from our last visit. We felt that was a good price to purchase one of the watches at this time. As a usual routine, I always encourage hubby to walk through the men's shoe department. He found his go-to pair last time from this location, and today the fortune streak continued. He found a pair of Birkenstock shoes for $40! Did I mention that these were shoes, not sandals...for $40?? Yes, this was the best buy of the day. Hubby has flat feet and spread-out toes, and the Birkenstock trademark roomy design on the toe area gives hubby's toes an ample space to comfortably place them. You wouldn't be able to find Birkenstock at this price point in Germany for sure. In summary, it was a satisfying trip to the Nordstrom Rack on Chicago Ave. We were content with our purchases. Shopping at a Nordstrom Rack isn't typically enjoyable for some people who dislike crowds and tight spaces, but if you can overcome those challenges somehow you can possibly find good deals. read more

This is so important in a discount retail store and is the reason why I don't go to other discount retail stores sometimes. I got a Rebecca Minkoff Affair bag for 50% off and my boyfriend got a great deal on a pair of Nikes!!! I wish I had more room in my suitecase to shop more!!! As a rural man myself,there are 2 things I really love about this place that stands amongst any other Nordstrom stores i've been too in my life. 1)They are cool with dogs in the store! 2) This Nordstrom has a bar so that way you can drown your tears away after spending alot of money at this store because at this store there's so much stuff here with 4 floors of fun that you're going to get something here. Not a bad store pretty standard for a Nordstrom Rack. Only complaint is that the shoe aisles were SO close together, and people were trying shoes on in the aisles. Made it very difficult to go through. Also, the checkout lanes upstairs are too cramped so if a spot opens up at the end, you probably couldn't even walk down there until other customers leave to clear the path. My advice would be to check out downstairs if yoU get the chance! read more

I have shopped at Nordstrom Rack several times in the past and had good luck finding great buys/items. This time, not so much. While in Chicago we hit the store in Rosemont and downtown. I gotta say I was not impressed at either location. What happened to the "wall of socks"? Maybe I'm getting too old for the styles they carry. Located across from the Hyatt Hotel and right next door to Anthropologie. My husband and I came by this store yesterday afternoon. This store is 2 stories, with the 1st floor only having sunglasses and luggage. On the 2nd floor is pretty much everything else. With this store, I would have to say that this particular location has a good selection of shoes, including the high end designer labels (seems like more that the other Nordstorm Rack on State St). I found some really good deals on shoes but because I am vacation (and only limited to my 1 carry on bag and a shared checked in bag, I have to be very choosy on what I buy while being on vacation), I was unable to purchase any (insert sad face). The employees I interacted with were pretty friendly and helpful in showing me some of the clutches in the displace case and check out was a breeze (if you are paying with a credit card, any sales associate in the store can actually ring you up so you do not have to wait in line if it is long). If I lived in this area, I would definitely be sure to frequent this location. read more

Decent but not as good as the location on State street. Once you walk in there is a huge escalator to take you upstairs towards the merchandise. Selection is ok, but as I mentioned not as good as the other location. Staff is really nice and they make sure you get what you need. Your best friends would not lead you in the wrong direction, would they ? OK to refer to Nordstrom Rack as my best friend would be stretching it just a bit. I mean what should I do? should I call it quote THE RACK unquote just for short? The rack if my memory serves me correctly is a torture device they used in the middle ages and pain is not a image I want to convey for this review. Actually you can call it the rack if you want. The dress shoes that you would normally find in fancy shmancy stores for $450-$600, you will find here for less then $99 but maybe 5 months after they came out. if you ae like me and consult GQ magazine before you leave the house ( not every time-relax) then you will find some good quality dress shoes here. Recently I have been able to find quality hats and fedora's here for less then $20. Bargain since those same hats are sometimes $50 in other stores but we wont mention them here since we don't want this review to get flagged :) Finally I come to the bow tie. I don't wear this all the time. But it looks good on me so I buy them here. They are also less then $20. This store is a great value for men's dress clothing if you don't want to spend $500 on a pear of loafers. I have been able to find what I was looking for in here without ransacking the store for a good deal on shoes. The employees are very helpful in knowing where all the merchandise and being honest if you ask them if ot looks good on you. If that fails, they have a mirror. read more

Does this branch of Nordstrom Rack exist solely to sell Coach tennis shoes at (somewhat) reduced prices? No? Are you sure? Because that's what it looked like to me. (BTW, why were those on the "designer" rack?) In general, I like the Rack. They sell denim (Joe's, J Brand) at much reduced prices. They have an exhaustive shoe department with lots of big sizes, a real boon for the size 14 Mister. This particular Rack - mmmm...no. It's small, the aisles are tiny, the selection includes little to nothing from the actual Nordstrom stores and it's unbelievably crowded. I've come here at least a half dozen times because it's right around the corner from Sak's and I always think "well, it's worth a try". I always leave empty handed because the place is full of crap and clogged up with tourists buying lame-ass Coach tennis shoes. Save your money and hit up the Half-Yearly at real Nordstroms. read more

Saving money on brand name clothes aside, I like this location. It's not as big as the one on State, but it's an effective one. The purse and shoe selection is larger at State, but I feel like this one is just more organized. One thing I would like to point out is that the boy and I were shopping for shoes. I spotted a pair that he would like and he agreed. I looked online to look for it in another size and I found a pair cheaper online! He showed my phone to an associate and she said she would match the online price. Unfortunately, he didn't end up getting them. Much larger Nordstrom Rack than the one on State Street. I came here the day after my visit to the State Street location, needing to return a pair of leather-look leggings, and wanting to see what this location had in store. I could have easily gotten derailed in the designer section,as the racks full of Alice+Olivia, Rebecca Taylor, and Vince were calling my name. I did spot a pair of navy velvet Chloe flats (in my size) but managed to restrain myself. Store Review: Shoes shoes galore! This place has gotten even more busy lately now that the secret is out. This store is well kept and appears larger than the one on state street. Recently they revamped the shoe section and it appears even larger than before. There are great deals to me made or nordstrom clearance merchandise compared to normal price at the michigan avenue location. My only issue is with the smaller section for men and even smaller section for clearance, however there is quite the selection of clothes for women. The check out line is long, but there is an army of cashiers to bag your order! Definitely had a pretty good selection of designer jeans that I get to walk away with, which in my mind, is the deciding factor on whether I'm at a Rack location that's going to be worth it. Didn't come away with too many other fantastic pieces, but I stocked up on basics, including camis, light sweaters, and leggings. This review is written for an online order. It's not about this Chicago Avenue Nordstrom Rack Store Location" Product is a nice, comfy and good quality slipper. I loved it. (My package (black color item) was lost by the carrier and I did not receive the item but I ordered 2 different colors of this item and they were shipped separately. I received the brown one, that's how I know it's comfy). I gave only 1 star because black one was never delivered and shipping status is "delivered on the website". I talked to front desk of my building first and they suggested me to give it 1 more day because they said Nordstrom Rack / Hautelook deliveries never arrive on time. I waited 2 more days and I contacted to Nordstrom Rack customer service. They apologized, started a investigation and refunded my money but I still wanted to receive the item. I immediately ordered the same item after refund and the same thing happened to my 2nd order, I can't believe this! I contacted to customer service again and they implied that I'm lying and they suggested me to use more secured delivery address and they said they won't be able to cover this kind of situation again! I was asking some questions and I was extremely polite to customer representative. He was responding with very long copy/paste sentences and I could not even read his responses and he disconnected in middle of the conversation. I never experienced this kind of rude and dis-respective behavior from any customer service. I contacted to them again right away after the 1st person disconnected and said I was asking some questions and customer representative was disconnected. Guess what? 2nd customer representative disconnected again! I live in a very secured high rise building and none of my packages was lost before. I don't want to look like a horrible person with saying that but I need to say, my apartment's rent is $4k+/month and I don't need to lie to them for $65 slipper, it was so rude. Only Nordstrom packages are lost here. Nordstrom Rack has my delivery address so I'm sure they checked my building during the investigation and saw how secure it is. And front desk of my building said they always do this. I suggest Nordstrom Rack to ask their carrier a picture of the package after the delivery as proof. In addition I received brown color (separate package) and shipping status is still "in transit" on the website. This company and website have issues for sure! And final comment, I don't want to be racist but these 2 customer representative were from the same country (it was obvious according to their names). And previously I never talked to any Nordstrom Rack customer service representative from this country so I don't know if I should blame these 2 specific people for these dis-respective situation or I should blame Nordstrom Rack? I guess both... I was a loyal member, I even have Nordstrom Credit card. I will close my credit card and I won't shop from this company anymore. read more

God is is so clean here. I came to the state street location to try on sunglasses and so many were scratched and the floor was dirty. But this location is impeccable. My girlfriend bought me cologne and a watch for my bday. Needless to say i looks and smell better walking out of this location. I love my birthday gifts. read more

The selection is great. The prices are reasonable but the staff is definitely underwhelming. I realize it gets a fair amount of traffic but I wish they were better with keeping it tidy and organized. Too hot - had to cut my shopping trip really short as I could not stand the oppressive heat. Heard many other customers also walking out because it was so uncomfortably hot. Would have spent several hundred more dollars but couldn't stand being so hot. We popped in here for what turned out to be a quick peek. Walked in and went up the long escalator. Got off the escalator and joined a throng of people milling around the store. I have no idea if it is always this busy here, but we were gone after 15 minutes. Considering how busy it was, the store did not appear too messy. It just did not feel like we were in a Notdstrom Rack store. Felt and looked more like we were in a Ross store or Marshalls store. The TJMaxx store just off the Magnificent Mile was much nicer looking than this shop. Maybe we came at a bad time, but I doubt that we will be returning here on our next trip to the Windy City. read more

I was able to be one of the 1st shoppers at the highly anticipated Nordstrom rack on Chicago Avenue. Great space and seems far more organized than the State Street location. (Although it was the first day open) Loads of friendly staff and I even met the store manager Susan. And I snagged a Nordstrom reusable shopping bag that had Garrett's popcorn in it. Score!
