The return was effortless. I ended up picking up a perfect sleeveless black shell. Sizing and fit were on point. Impressive! While their store lacked in the curvy dept, their online game for those with curves is incredible. Don't ever order from these guys. If you have to return something, they will make you pay for the return shipping. If you don't want to waste money on that, you will have to physically go into the store, which unfortunately is at 600 N Michigan. Soooo, you will either have to pay a lot to park or have a friend circle the block 10 times, which ain't free considering the cost of gas. Whatever. Buying from here is just too much of a pain in the ass if you have to return something. Too many other shopping options, so why deal with return nonsense? No Thank You!!!! Came over in the afternoon after eating lunch at Eataly. 2 of the older women working at the cash registers here are incredibly rude and snobbish. I came in to return some clothes that didn't fit, went to the counter, was ignored while the 2 of them chatted and folded some clothes when a customer was clearly waiting in front of them and had asked for help. I was carrying a Eataly pizza box and set it on the counter at least 2 feet away from where they were working. One of the staff made a face and said "let me move these clothes away from the Pizza" and continued to not look at me or try to help process my returns. What the hell! LOFT / ANN TAYLOR CREDIT CARD I applied for a CC in store, I never received the card, welcome call, or any bill! 2 months later I get my FIRST call from them saying I'm behind and have over $60 in late fees. I take care of EVERYTHING, a week later, I get report that I'm over 30 days late on a CC They only gave me a credit balance of $250 and I have GOOD credit, so of course it also reports as 50% credit usage!!!! I try to call them, but no number can be found! I finally got my first bill with a number listed. I call and cancel my card, the agents are rude and nonchalant! They can SUCK IT! LOFT has lost a customer for life. I love their clothes, but save your time and credit score and skip the BS. read more

Worst shopping experience in Chicago, especially given how nice people in this city usually are. We tried a bunch of stuff and get into the line for checking out. The customer in front of us took *A LONG TIME* and after he is done, the cashier just told us "we're closed, get out". WTF??? If you were planning to leave after serving the customer in front of us, you could have at least told us about it instead of having us waiting there for ages and wasting our time. I think it's because we're Asians - this has happened to me elsewhere before - the cashier will finish helping the person in front of me and say "I'm done for the day, get into another line!" I just want to say - if you're planning to do that, could you please let me know in advance?? My fiancee is generally a fan of Ann Taylor as a brand, and we've had great service in California, but my parents visited last week, and had a terrible customer service experience. They arrived around closing time, and waited in line for a while to check out. When they got to the front, the cashiers just closed all the registers and told them the shop was closed! If you're going to close the shop, tell us in advance and don't waste our time standing in line! Just unbelievable. My parents are visiting from Hong Kong, so maybe they're just racist against Asians. I would avoid this place, or be wary that you'll receive sub-par service, if you're Asian. And seriously -- don't you guys want your commission? I've never seen a shop that makes it this hard to spend money with them... read more

Sales people not very friendly at this particular location and they had no one to help me to the fitting room. I waited for a long while to get someone's attention (10 min.)to get a different size. Eventually i just lost my patience and walked out. Very poor service overall. read more

ADDICTED!! I never think of LOFT and you prolly don't either. It's hidden away in the back of the North Bridge Mall and they don't advertise much, but I've found their stuff is cute, versatile and holds up well for the same price as Gap. EXCEPT Except that if you wait two weeks, you'll get the item you love for 40 or 50% off. Happens every time. Usually there are items you love left over in your size, not always, but it's worth it to hold out and likely get something for $12 that you could have gotten for $36. The girls on the floor don't do much but walk around, but once you get to the registers, these girls are obviously running the show. They're friendly, professional and knowledgeable despite the always-changing prices. Love LOFT because I can always get something I love quickly, hassle-free and inexpensively. I love this location, despite their lack of a really good sale rack here(I'm hoping when the location at 700 N. Michigan moves into water tower, it will take its sale racks too!). Its a really nice open space, whereas other locations can be cramped (although the Loft stores are much more crowded). Plus its right by other places I love to stop (Crate & Barrel for one) As for the clothes, I think they are a great quality for the price. They are certainly not low prices, but this stuff seems to last. Sure some pieces seem targeted for a more mature crowd, but they are all really gorgeous, and there are definitely things for younger women as well. They have really pretty winter coats for one thing. If you find a location with a good sale rack, its like hitting a jackpot, there is just so much good stuff, and when it goes on sale it'll be a big difference, often as much as half off Also I've found that their suits are the best fit I can find for my body type (no hips and a short torso...not sure why, but these suits just flow pretty well). They have a great selection for special occasions too, including even bridesmaid and simple wedding dresses- but also dressed up pieces for any special occasion. read more

My bridemaids' dresses came from Ann Taylor and they were fabulous! I really love this location for its sale racks, though. I stalked their wonderful cashmere sweaters until they went on mega-sale and they had every single color in stock! Whew! As a result, I am not allowed any more cashmere for the year. They really do have awesome sales and this location is bigger than most, so it has a bigger-than-most sale area. Their clothes last an extremely long time and go with that look of "classic elegance" that I am going for. I am pretty sure that I don't achieve that look, but I gotta try! read more

Ann Taylor made bridesmaid dress shopping completely effortless. I bought the dresses when they were having a sale. By opening a credit card, I was able to get 25% off the dresses. Sandra on Michigan Ave. offered to press the dresses for us. Additionally, the girls were offered the ability to come back to the store to learn the 5 different ways to tie their bow. Oh, and the week before the wedding when one of my maids admitted that her dress didn't fit-- they were able to get a replacement gown within a day. I would highly recommend. read more

There are some stores that just know how to provide service. I had spent a dreary day working downtown yesterday, so I needed a little retail therapy. I did the Macy's thing...nothing relieved the blues...so I made my way to Ann Taylor. True to "her" reputation, Ann didn't fail me...she had a terrific sale...cashmere (my fav) sweaters for $30!? Beautiful, fully-lined skirts and trousers for $20!? How could I possibly stay depressed!? Granted, this type of sale happens about twice a year...at the end of the season, but I've purchased Ann's things for years and they are classics...and last forever! read more

Miss the old store layout and more relaxed vibe. This store was redone to fit their new concept look. Louder, brighter, more chaotic. What is with the 1000 watt lighting? (Didn't anyone tell them how bright lights make women full of self hate?!) Clothes also look/feel cheaper. I really had started to feel warmly about the Anne Taylor brand but sadly, that has changed after experiencing this store (despite super sweet staff). I don't feel like spending $300 on a suit at a place that feels like you are shopping at Zara. Boo. read more

Ann Taylor's customer service is grossly incompetent. We ordered 3 wedding dresses with guaranteed next day air delivery. They showed up 10 days after the due date. After a total of 30 hours on the phone with the buffoons in their customer service department, they sent us three of the SAME dress. Average wait time on the phone to speak to a customer representative is between 25-30 minutes. Their supervisers are as remarkably ineffective and lack any semblance of understanding about how to place an order. I will NEVER use Ann Taylor for anything ever again. I made a purchase at anntaylor.com, using the "find your perfect fit" feature provided. I went a size down because I know things often run large compared to size guides. When I received the item, it was still two sizes too large. This was a purchase for a wedding, so I really did not have the time to wait for a return to process, and I couldn't do an exchange in store because it was an online only item. A customer service rep on the website assured me that I would be able to make a return at the store for cash back. The staff at the store told me it was impossible to do an online return for cash back, and then *assured* me that returns are instant. She insisted that I would not have to wait 2-3 days for my bank to process the return. Unsurprisingly, this was a flat-out lie. I was also told I could come into a store at any time for help with fitting. That doesn't mean it's okay for the information on the website to be grossly inaccurate. No apology was offered for any of the inconvenience. Not cool. read more

Unfortunately, they didn't have it in my size but the sales associate who was helping me, Princess, looked all over the place for it to check. I had a job interview nearby and had some time to kill afterwards. I needed a new pair of work appropriate pants that were flattering. The store is beautiful and neatly organized. I have an interesting shaped body to put it nicely. I have broad shoulders, a short torso, a rounder stomach and thicker thighs. I have always had tremendous trouble finding a pair of fitted pants that accentuated my figure. One of the stylish associates offered to help me. She suggested I try their curvier fit pants in addition to other pant styles I had selected. The curvier fit pants were great. I needed help selecting the right size. The associate was not only great at finding a shirt to match, but she suggested what shoes I could wear with these pants and continued to bring me more clothing items to my dressing room to try on. Her assistance was so helpful. I wish I could remember her name, because if I go back I would ask for her again. Having to pay an elite price for Ann Taylor clothing was worth it for me because I felt catered to and listened to- and flattered as well. I wasn't just paying for the clothes, but the outstanding service as well. read more
