Great place to shop online. I found them in the shop app. Their pieces are one of a kind.

There are so many cute pieces here and the owner and other girl working there were super nice. The owner actually remembered my sister! I ended up getting a really cute vintage blazer that I wore the next day and love! Can't wait to stop in next time I'm in town!

VINTAGE GEM ALERT in historic downtown Elgin!…read more I stopped in Able shoppe on Saturday to check out all the curated vintage. You can tell from a block away the shoppe is gorgeous! It is so welcoming and bright. I've bought several pieces from Able shoppe online and I love each of them, so I couldn't wait to visit in person. It was so nice to be able to try on clothing and appreciate all the pieces the shoppe has to offer. You can tell a lot of thought and expertise has gone into the selection and arrangement of the pieces. It feels like you're shopping in an art gallery! This was my second time stopping in, and there were lots of new things since the last time I was there. The shoppe has women's, men's, and baby clothes (including vintage jeans!), along with lots of accessories, home items & furniture. I enjoyed speaking with Liv and hearing about her plans for future collaborations in the shoppe! Will definitely be back! Oh! And a note about Covid: everything felt very safe, spacious & clean. Thank you!

While attempting to find places in Chicago that sold garments in this style, Solei popped up on my Yelp search. Solei is a Chicago based store that partners with indigenous cooperatives in Mexico ensuring your purchase goes back to the community. They have a big selection of Mexican style embroidered dresses, tunics, tops and accessories in a multitude of colors and styles. A big plus is that they also sell Otomi style clothes and purses. I was really impressed with their selection which led me to visit them in person. Unfortunately they didn't have what I wanted in store so I ended up purchasing my things online. In house, their stock is limited but at least you can try on stuff for look and fit. A majority of their goods are pulled from their warehouse. What you can't find in store, you can oftentimes get online at: https://soleistore.com/ If shopping in store, they have a section devoted to ball gowns and tiaras. It seems like a popular place for purchasing quinceanera gear if you're in the market for it. Come out and visit Solei. They have a beautifully curated selection of fine Mexican embroidery well worth the trip to Little Village.

I'm annoyed that the sizing wasn't even close and I paid 10. shipping out and 16. back. Also, I would like to thank all of the people that have come out to support businesses in this area that were hit hard by the current political climate in Washington D.C. At the height of violence in our streets I tried to do my best by supporting some of these businesses. During this phase 18th street looked like a ghost town on a Saturday. Normally on a Saturday in this neighborhood has people teeming everywhere and the smell of an asado in the air (Yum). Having time off and having an asado is the perfect way to relax and spend time with your family. Plus, who doesn't like the smell of an asado? Well during this time period I found this shop that I thought had some really cool and unique stuff. Also, you may notice that they have a fair amount of stuff with the famous Hulu's The Bear line, "Yes Chef, No Chef" on it. If you are a fan of the show like I am, then, the interior will look familiar to you because it was in a seen on the show (I think it was season 3). I immediately recognized the store and thought to myself "cool" and great choice. Anyhow, if you find yourself in the area, pop in and check it out. They are very selective as to which artists around the country they want to buy from and in turn sell their products. Maybe you will find that one unique thing that you have been looking for that you didn't realize you need. I mean, you never know unless you check it out.
