*Updated my review after receiving a message learning from the owner that they do not advertise as vintage because they do not sell vintage and that categorizing "consignment" on yelp also includes being tagged vintage which is not something an owner can get around in the system*. So with that new information I updated my review. I think it's important to be clear on advertising what is sold. For me vintage is what I collect and if I'm taking a $15 Uber ride to a specific shop from my hotel I really hope to have done my homework and I rely on yelp reviews. So hopefully this helps others. This primarily a designer consignment shop. The inventory was pretty good but a bit pricey and a bit inconsistent for me. Labels like Marc Jacobs, DVF, priced high compared to Armani priced right. Nothing said take me home because most of the inventory was a bit on the conservative side for me and I go for a bit wild. In all fairness if you are looking for some new work clothes with high end labels you will do great here!. Th clothes are in great shape. If you are looking for that awesome Kenzo sweatshirt in pristine condition for $40 then Buffalo Exchange may be your better bet but don't try and find that sweatshirt because I bought it yesterday! I can't say enough good things about this cute little shop in Andersonville! I wandered in here for the first time one evening while strolling the neighborhood with my boyfriend after a late lunch. The owner immediately greeted us with a huge smile and was super friendly. Although we weren't looking for anything in particular, she was able to tell us so much about the items she carried, many of which were designed by local artisans in the city. I also found a bunch of adorable clothes to try on, and she was honest and helpful with finding what worked best. It was almost like having a personal stylist! The clothes here are designer resale, at very reasonable prices, and I ended up with quite a few pieces, as well as a handmade scarf and a beautiful crystal ring by a local designer. The location is a little farther north than most of the primary Clark Street shopping district in Andersonville (a couple blocks north of Bryn Mawr, and just south of Gethsemane Garden Center).. so if you're not used to wandering up that far, it's definitely worth the trip! The owner of this shop, Emilia, is awesome! I stopped by the shop on a Saturday afternoon after brunch at m.henry. The concept of the store is pretty neat. They are some new and handmade items as well as gently used designer goods and vintage items. You can get some designer duds for a fraction of the cost! The clothes were nice, but a bit too high for my budget so I focused on the accessories. I was shopping for a gray scarf and asked Emilia for her help. She was able to help me pick out a gray scarf that I love and have received many compliments on. I'm more of a plain Jane, but the textures and design of the scarf really work for me. Her pick was perfect and I make sure to let people know where I got it. Also, the scarf isn't too thick and I've worn it on cold winter days and it was warm enough for me. Also, she was super friendly and made sure to tell me about the sales going on. She offered to help if I needed it. She even threw in a Luna bar along with my purchase. However, the best thing was that she was able to make an earring for me out of one that I have. I had lost the other pair and was pretty bummed out about it and haven't been able to find anything similar. She didn't have anything like it either. So, she offered to make one for me. I came back the next day, but she was out of the store so I left my name, number and phone number with an employee. She called a few days later so I went the following weekend was beyond pleased with the results. She didn't charge me either, which was nice. I'm very happy to have my favorite pair of earrings back! I hate to say I'm not a big fan of this place, because the owner is a doll. She's polite and friendly and great. I maybe should add the caveat that I'm not a good thrift shopper. Someone else's clothes . . . errmm. So, with that . . . Now, I'm no plus-size, man-handed girl, but a lot of the clothes just were not a fit - I'm not a size "0". There were a few cool pairs of pants and some vintage tunics, but . . . small! This is really not their fault, I realize they are not Loehmann's. Some used designer gear, which I thought was overpriced for something that shows visible wear - $78 for a used Coach wristlet? I might have purchased it for $20. The jewelry and accessories. Just . . . eh. Nothing special, nothing really unique. Perhaps I went on an off day, since I know the nature of stores like this is to get random stuff on disparate days. And I'm sure the handmade accessories are on consignment, so they are a bit more expensive - but I didn't think they were worth the price. Soooo, I dunno. Honestly, I think I'm in love. In fact, if this store was a boy I would marry it. I don't even really know where to begin but let me start by saying that I've never felt love like this before. Mr & Mrs Digz is SO not your mothers' consignment boutique. This store is different because the owner, Emilia, hand picks (and in some cases hand makes) each and every item she sells. And not from people bringing in clothes en mass; She goes out and searches vintage shops, garage and estate sales, thrift stores, Craigslist etc. for goods that are fit for her store. Sound good? You ain't heard nothin yet. The store also has local artists showcasing their goods on clothing, bags, accessories and baubles. The shoe selection is literally drool inducing. In fact on my first trip in I filled my bushel with almost every pair that fit due to the winter clearance sale. They also have mens items. There are hats, scarves, handmade goods, socks and slippers, vintage rings, designer vintage pieces, new stuff, brooches. There's Lacoste sweaters, vintage Prada bags, Ferragamo shoes, Fendi, Banana, Polo (whew, I need to catch my breath). Walking in to this store is like long division. I can't wrap my brain around it. Not only does she find these elegant one of a kind items that have been sitting in someone's storage for who-knows-how-long but she transforms some of them from old and frumpy to modern, peerless beauties with her own two hands. That's right, she makes dresses, blouses and tunics out of vintage scores she's found. You will literally be the only person with anything like it and it will show. After our second brunch in as many weeks at m henry, Keri and I decided to leave our comfort zone and do some vintage clothes shopping. You see, neither of us are big fans of picking through racks of clothes that are haphazardly scattered about, and wearing someone else's clothes that I don't know has always kind of skeeved me out. A dapper gentleman friend of mine is a huge lover of resale shops and vintage clothing and he always finds the best stuff at the most ridiculously cheap prices. Seriously, he'll be wearing a pair of impeccably tailored linen pants and proudly exclaim that they cost something like $5. I wanted to know his secret and he said that "you just have to have an open mind, look around, and you'd be surprised at the great stuff out there." When I was in San Francisco a couple of months ago, I managed to find a way cool psychedelic print shift dress from the 60s in a vintage store, so maybe my friend had a point. After all, finding that dress was indeed a score. Keri and I walked in and the first thing I noticed was that the place did NOT smell. Perhaps that's why I had never been a fan of resale shops before - I always likened them to shopping in my grandmother's apartment o' crap that just smells mildewy and like mothballs. Nope, this place was bright and cheery and well-organized to boot. We decided to divide and conquer. She took one end of the store and I took the other, and we were each pointing out great finds that we thought would look good on the other. Our tastes/styles are different enough that we weren't worried about fighting over anything; that is, until we both tried on this cool black cotton piqué flowered sundress. Lucky for me, she ended up not liking it as much as I did, so this little beauty is mine. All mine. Not to worry, she found some other great stuff: a bohemian print dress that is totally "her," a cool one-of-a-kind tunic in a great pattern, and a blue topaz vintage ring. As for me, I also snagged a linen skirt in a print reminiscent of the 60s with big flowers on it, as well as a Liberty print shirt for summer. I tried on a lot of other great stuff that unfortunately either didn't fit or was just not "me." The only negative thing about this place is that they only have the one dressing room. We pretty much commandeered it for the better part of an hour trying stuff on. One girl eventually gave up and asked the manager if she could try her selections on in their office, and he let her. Since this place is dangerously close to my favorite Sunday brunch spot, I have a feeling I'll be doing some serious damage to my wallet here. Even if you think you're not a fan of resale or vintage clothing shops, I promise you that Mr and Mrs Digz may sway you. I am officially a member of the cult. A resounding 4.5 stars! read more

Hey, have you seen Angie M. lately?!? She is looking phenomenal! Being that we're both Yelperatti and run in the same circles (I know...it sounds sooooo snobby!), I ran into her at an event and not only did she look fab-u-lous but she had on the cutest little vintage 70's dress. I asked her where she found such a dress and she pointed over at Megan G., who had on an equally cute dress, and said that they had been thrifting at Mr. and Mrs. Digz. Of course I had to go check this place out for myself. I wandered around the shop not really finding anything and then Emilia asked if I was looking for anything in particular. Yes! I was looking for things to make my corporate "standard black" wardrobe a little more funky. Suddenly Emilia sprang into action pulling piece after piece from the racks. I occupied her dressing room for about an hour while she kept bringing me things to try. Suits! Tops! Sweaters! Pants! Belts! Accessories! Bags! Jewelry! Hair clips! She instructed me to "just play with them and see what works for you." I walked out with two bags full of work appropriate, yet still kind of quirky, clothes and I could have easily bought more. I seriously can't believe this place has all the 5-star reviews that it does, but then again, it IS Andersonville... I imagine that it doesn't take much to impress their target demographic, The Stroller Brigade. I mean, Bebe and BCBG cocktail dresses for 100+? LOL. Those brands will run you about $30 at a place like Buffalo Exchange! Hell, I see them at thrift stores all.the.time. "YA Los Angeles" dress for $50? That's like, some cheap juniors brand found at low-end clothing chains. Ick. But my favorite... Almost $200 for a fringed, cotton AllSaints dress from 2011!!! Look, I'm an AllSaints ho; don't try to pull a fast one on me, sister. I'm assuming this grotesquely inflated price (the dress was originally $160) was due to the tags still being attached, but COME ON. Fringe isn't even in anymore (I'm not counting basic bitch festival fashion, because well, ew). PLUS there's like, an AllSaints outlet 20 minutes outside of the city, where you can find much more current things marked down 50%-70%. Yeah, no. Long story short, you've got to have some serious audacity to expect people to pay premium prices for what is essentially off-season, used merchandise. They must not expect "outsiders" like me to come in and call their bluff. For fuck's sake, I've gotten Helmut Lang and Marc Jacobs dresses for less than they want for these "high end" brands you can find at the mall. Can't speak to their vintage selection, as I can only imagine how jacked up those pieces were. This experience just left me pining for my favorite resale/consignment store in Minneapolis. :( read more

Not so sad? This place's selection. Everything is carefully organized and displayed. I found several dresses I loved and more than several hats I NEEDED if I could wear hats on a more regular basis. (You tell ME why girl lawyers can't wear fedoras in the courtroom. I think it'd really get my point across with a feather in my brim. Sayin'.) God, I WANT to like this store so much. Everytime I go in there I have such high hopes! I want to give them all my money, and come out looking like a stunningly stylish creature. Alas, it is not to be so. There are three main problems I have: 1) the things I like are never in my size. -if you are a very tiny person with tiny feet then hey, you may want to take a trip over here! 2) the things I like are never in my price range. -such as the art ($300+ usually) and the purses (i.e. $78 for a tiny vintage clutch) 3) the rest of the stuff is just not...me. -look, I get it that the hipster look is hot right now, but slouchy hats with ear flaps, skinny corduroy pants and 70's style spread collar sweaters are going to look ri-godamn-diculous on me. So I go and cry over the XS leopard print swing coat and size 4 black cocktail dress with the beaded collar instead. On the plus side the store is very nicely set up, and the staff is amazingly nice. I can't say enough about this place. I've been shopping here since it first opened in Andersonville and have followed them right through to their new cool, suite location. I've gotten unique birthday presents here for my kids' friends (my daughters LOVE this place and are in love with the handmade candle tins!), stuff for my husband and loads of stuff for me including jeans, a jacket and accessories galore. I really love that she supports local in that she carries dozens of accessories from local designers and they're super cute and unique! What I am most excited about - like to the point where I couldn't sleep - was my recent vintage Chanel handbag find! I've been wanting a Chanel handbag for years and knowing that it is an investment, Emilia, the owner (a Chanel aficionado herself, btw) was so patient with my crazy indecisive process on which Chanel bag to choose from (she had three at the time). She guided me through it, explained which one she thought I would get more use out of, was more practical and on trend - and she was absolutely right!! A chic giant giraffe (complete with scarf and beret) welcomes you to peruse to your heart's content. I oohed and ahhed at some gorgeous hats made by my friend at Zzouzi Hats, and savoured all the one-of-a-kind finds in the boutique. Fell in love with a vintage gold ring with tiny dangling stones, but alas, my finger was a smidgen too plump for it. Sigh. I eventually found a textured gold cuff perfect for holiday party season. I really want to like this place. It's a very cute shop, the owner is very sweet, and every once in a while I find something cute, in my size, and not to pricey. But that doesn't happen very often as I have a few of the same complaints that seem to be popping up on here. 1) They need more size M/L and XL stuff (some of this 'vintage' stuff runs really small!) 2) The prices are too high for what it is ex. today I spotted a dress in there from Target (really? Target?) It was from Summer 2012, and it was priced at around $24. I can tell you that I bought this very same dress from Target a mere 7 or 8 months ago and I paid $12.99 for it brand new! What happened in those few months to make this cheaply made dress almost double in price? and 3) While this is a new complaint, it was bothersome nonetheless. Today when I went in there the whole shop smelled like dirty diapers. Gross! I understand that the owner has kids, but that just put a sour note on my experience today. Get some air fresheners, throw the diapers in the outside trash...something! I will probably go here again, as I do like to support local businesses, and like I said, every once in a while you find the perfect trifecta. I've been a regular for almost a year now. Items for women dominate and as small as the men's section is, I've found some really amazing gems for myself. I've purchased a few shirts, bracelets, cashmere scarves, Hermès ties, and I invested in a Yves Saint Laurent blazer that fits as though it was tailored for me (at most consignment shops, clothing runs WAY too big; it's so hard to find small sizes). Everything i've purchased has been extremely reasonable and worth every penny. In the back there is a beautiful Home decor/furniture section. Shockingly inexpensive that other furniture stores in the Andersonville area would mark up 1000%! Why pay $4,000 for something when you could easily walk/drive a block or two North and find something equivalent for $400? What are you waiting for?! Va jouer! read more

I stopped into M & M Digz while I was looking for another store that was near by. I like their unique merchandise selection - that's what attracted me to the store in the first place. However, a lot of the items are pricey all things considering. I haven't gone to a lot of thirft/consignment/vintage shops in my day so I don't know if I'm off base here, but I have a feeling I'm not. Overall, nice boutique and definitely a place I'd stop by now and then. read more

How do I love this store? Let me count the ways... Maybe it was that time Emilia helped me find a gift for my boyfriend's 17 year old and she LOVED it. Or maybe it was the time she helped me see that...yes, those black shorts looked awesome on me...even though I would've normally died before wearing them. They are now a go-to for me. Or was it one of her killer sales where I pretty much nailed my perfect Fall lineup all in one go? **GREAT BOUTIQUE SHOP** I was in the area visiting my sister that lives near Andersonville with our other sister and mom and this shop was our first stop. We were immediately drawn in by the rack of clothing out front and went inside to find so many surprises. There's gorgeous jewelry, accessories and clothing all around! We each walked out with more than 2 articles of clothing and jewelry. The owner Emilia is AMAZING! I am from Boston and flew all the way home without realizing that I left my Tory Burch sunglasses at the store. I called the shop to see if they were there and sure enough Emilia had kept them safe for me. She even mailed them to me free of charge. I will definitely be back in when I visit my sister next time! read more

Best place for retail therapy ! Everything is reasonably priced yet cool and unique. I can't count how many times I have purchased an item here and have gotten compliments every time I wear it. One of the very best things in Andersonville. Actually, one of the best stores in Chicago ! Great gifting buying place as well. But I usually just buy myself gifts :) Emilia , the owner, makes the experience more worthwhile. You will want her to be your best friend as soon as you meet her. I absolutely love this shop! It hard not to fall in love especially when there are bags from Fendi, Prada, and Gucci. I found this shop while in search for a new bag. I decided to gift myself with a new bag but paying retail was so out of the question. I had went to a few shops before I landed on this one and now I will never go anywhere else. Emilia, the owner, is so friendly and she pulled out pieces for me based on what I was looking for. There is such a wide range of unique bags which made it hard to choose but I landed on the most chic Stella McCartney falabella bag. I've been to Mr. and Mrs. Digz a couple times before this last time I ran in to find any maturity clothes. First two times I was just browsing with my mom. This last time (Sadly last time for now since I'm no longer in Chicago anymore *sadface*) I had a superb experience. The owner was so sweet and so very helpful. She helped me find some cool tops, skirts and dresses that would be fitting through out the pregnancy and afterwords. Also gave me awesome advice on motherhood and pregnancy. Though after all her help, the husband called and told me "Um..how much?! No.." Grr! lol I did get a sweet dress that I am madly in love with and I do plan on coming back on my vacations there to buy more stuff. I popped in this place after the window display caught my eye. I love that it has more of a true-vintage selection than most "vintage" stores these days but you do have to search around for the correct sizes. Everything is one-of-a-kind but when you find a gem mixed in that fits you, you will leave feeling as though you'd just unearthed a buried treasure. I walked out with a fantastic straw clutch and a blousy-blouse - I only spent $36 and am looking forward to pairing the items with over-sized sunglasses, high-waist 70s jeans, and cork wedges! It's not a place I could see myself frequenting regularly but I will definitely return periodically to comb the racks. read more
