Two years ago I repaired two broken ankle bracelets at this store and right before closing the store manager noticed three teens entering the store and didn't even warn me to return to my table at the front where my backpack, my pyrenees and my free people back full of belongings were. She and her associate just watched unemotionally as I begged the one teen not to leave with my bag and chased him down an alley all by myself. One sweet woman in the alleyway grabbed the kid but he kept running and the police outside were also unhelpful and wouldn't take my name and information for a police report because they said they were too busy. I called the police from my smartphone but no one arrived. I was exhausted and sad and traumatized and I asked the manager that evening why she hadn't locked the door for my safety since I was the last customer that evening and they were close to closing anyway and she shrugged her shoulders non chalantly and said it's a fire hazard to lock the doors. I was given footage and photos of these kids so I uploaded the images on the Nextdoor app hoping someone would recognize the teens so I could press charges and get names for the police. The owner offered me $25 and begged me to remove the incident from the Nextdoor App permanently so I honored her wishes and Yesterday when I wanted to repair two anklets again the manager screamed at me and told me I had been permanently banned because I had defamed them on the Nextdoor App. First of all I was trying to get help from the neighbors in the Ukrainian Village area and the neighbors stated multiple stores do get targeted on Division Street by teens who target shoppers and store owners. Secondly I wasn't dissuading people from shopping there. Before the theft I always enjoyed picking out beads and found it relaxing to put back together my anklets and I shopped there often or whenever I was in the neighborhood. I didn't realize the owner was paying me $25 to never come back but that's exactly what the manager said to me yesterday evening so in honor of their wishes I will not shop there again. It's odd how they were more concerned about their "reputation " than the well being of the customers. I feel they lack empathy especially for their female customers and supposedly this boutique is female run and owned. Relaying a true story and making sure others are safe is important to me. If they knew that store owners are being targeted by teens along Division street they should have warned me not to leave any of my personal belongings on the work table with my dog unattended. They could have locked the door for my protection!

She came up with the idea we should get permanent jewelry! So off to Alexandra Marks we went. You can choose between permanent bracelets or anklets and there are so many different chains to choose from and you can even add on fun charms. We all selected a gold tone metal chain and opted for anklets since they seemed more durable. Hot tip: Ask for your anklet to be looser so that it's not as tight and is less prone to breaking! We got champagne to sip on and it was such a fun experience throughout. They also let us know if our jewelry does fall off or needs to be cut off, the store will fuse it back together as long as you call/make an appointment and bring it back to them to fix. We spent a few minutes looking at the clothes and other jewelry for sale and they had some really cute stuff, and prices seemed pretty reasonable especially for a small boutique. The highlight was definitely the woman who did our bracelets, she was so friendly and helpful and really made it a fun experience. They have a decently sized collection in both silver and gold, along with little charms you can add which I recommend! We walked in and had no wait on a Sunday afternoon, but apparently it can get busy so you may want to make a reservation.

But I've followed on Instagram and they have some beautiful jewelry, and I love jewelry, so I stopped in today whilst waiting for my coffee order at The Coffee Studio to be ready. The staff were nice; I was greeted immediately upon entering. I did get there as they were opening, so it was just me and the three employees. I wandered around for ten minutes or so. They have some beautiful merchandise for sure, and work with local artists as well as those further afield for their jewelry (at the very least). They carry pieces from at least half a dozen artists. Most of it is gold, and I'm not a fan of gold but they had a few silver pieces that interested me and I may be back for. The clothing was a skip for me, since I'm not sure they carry anything above a size four or so. They also had some clips/hair bands/head bands, and why did I spend a ridiculous amount on these? Because they're beautiful, I guess. I think what originally brought WG to my attention is that they do permanent jewelry. I'm really intrigued by this so I've checked into the places I know do it in the city. WG has particularly beautiful chains, and they have a variety of charms from red which to choose (I like the mama one now that I can call myself that!). I need to look at price and confirm that this is where I want to do permanent jewelry... but I think I might be back for that. As a word to the wise, the employee told me that I could come and do it as a walk in, but they recommend appointments on the weekend because it can be very busy. There's nothing but street parking around here, and it's not in the busiest part of Andersonville where there's more parking. There's some street parking on the surrounding streets, and don't forget about Ashland or as far north as Victoria and whatnot up by Gethsemane, which also has a short metered portion.
