a box of lono doughnuts

Now that I'm far away from this place I miss it. They have all of the nostalgic candy and goodies needed for a cookout with the family. It's not a grocery store so you can't expect it to have an assortment of items as vast as a grocery store. The super donuts took me back to childhood and the frooties. Everything wholesale. Leave your kids at home though. They aren't allowed to go in the back when they're under a certain age

My Southside Buddies has always tried to get me to check out this place. So, today I was off work (Good Friday) and decide to take that drive. I guess depending on the day and time. But today I only had a 25 minute drive from the WestSide to the Southside. Once I stepped inside this Big Warehouse there were Big Freezers on each size. The freezers were stocked with food that you can purchase in bulks. I was busy looking for what I drove out here for CANDY. When I walked over to the other side of the Warehouse. I was in Candyland Heaven. You walked down aisles and on each table there was candy on each table spread out for you to make your selections. They had most of the old school candy mixed in with other different candy. There were Big boxes of Sunflower Seeds & Pumpkin Seeds (The Kind with the Indian Man on it). I had a major sugar rush to the Dome. The reason I rate this post a 3 is due to the pricing. Some prices are reasonable where some prices were like ok come on? I understand this is a Big Warehouse etc but I feel that the candy could be displayed a lilttle better. I had to bend down on the floor to get some of my items. There should also be a better sign display to help the customers to see where each item is located. Any woo, the front desk ppl that checked you out were friendly and professional. Thats what makes a customer like myself come back and shop.

Clean store (inside) , very organized, employees are courteous. Prices on certain bulk items can be higher here than your mainstream stores. A certain item here is $5.00 more ,where at GFS (Gordon Food Service) its cheaper.

Can Kids Come In With Adults Also?

yes. it's actually a neighborhood store that happens to sell lots of candy in bulk. You can buy frozen foods and other grocery items. It's nothing fancy but you do have lots of candy options at a pretty good price.

Let's just say it was an extended stay for more than just bottled water lol. Small boutique candy store that's very nicely organized and offer unique sweet snacks. Many options to choose from as you pick your pieces individually filling up your basket or prepackaged bags of candy. They offer your basic familiar popular candy snacks to international favorites that may be unknown in the states. Small candy shop but be prepared to spend time and be amazed exploring every nook and cranny of the store! The staff was very helpful as you asked questions and knew about every product they offer.

There was an extensive variety of candy and snacks from Japan and Asia, so colorful and attractive.  The store was quite busy even at 3 pm on a Friday.  I truly felt like a kid in a candy store, happy but a little overwhelmed. There were not just candy and sweets, I saw some traditional Chinese dried fruits, such as dried plums, which are very salty.  Candied fruits called Tanghulu and some fruit-shaped ice cream are interesting. Our friend is familiar with Asian food.  She happily showed me a bag of Japanese rice cake and other snacks that she was going to buy.  The cashier checkout is at the end of the store, which is a bit unusual.  The checkout process seemed efficient and friendly. Since I was planning to shop for baked goods, I didn't purchase anything this time. But I will definitely return and spend more time exploring the store. There is so much to see, and I'm sure there will be something appealing for everyone.

The TVs also show nothing else but self promotion of celebrities visiting various Sugar Factory locations. Their other theme is attention-grabbing shakes and desserts. Ones that BEG others to "Look at me!" (and order one for themselves...). We partook because, well, "When in Rome!" And, honestly, it had some fun to it. The food wasn't half bad and neither were the shakes we had. The portions were decent but prices were inflated. We didn't buy-in fully but we still enjoyed our meal and didn't regret the visit (just not sure we'd be back to this one trick pony).

It makes for a nice place to relax and recharge. I ordered the mousse cake with a double espresso, and it was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The mousse cake was delicious with a great balance of fruity and chocolate flavors, and it wasn't overly sweet. All of our pastries had some level of chocolate, given the name of the shop, but you can tell it's good-quality chocolate. We shared the ginger chocolate loaf, which was dry (definitely meant to be consumed with a drink), but the sugar crust and bits of ginger were really nice. The lemon cake was layered, and the flavors worked well together, which was unexpected. The passionfruit mousse was also good; the texture was a bit denser than expected, but it was balanced. Lastly, we got the chocolate chip cookie, which was more chocolate than cookie. Still, with how good the chocolate was, it was a decadent cookie. I ordered the chai latte as a drink, and it was solid! Nothing unexpected, but a nice hot start to a rather cold day.
