This review is so overdue. There's really only 2 Target locations that I have frequented in the last 6 months--Rogers Park and West Loop. Since I've recently moved, West Loop Target is home to me. Customer Service is HUGE to me. I'm the type of person that if you get my order wrong, but apologized with a smile I'll still tip just because of the service. We're humankind, and we need a whole lot of the "kind" part in any industry. Anyhoo, just wanted to let West Loop location that you're doing an awesome job and you have some wonderful people doing some wonderful things everyday. I lived less an a block away from this Target for over a year and it is without a doubt one of the cleanest locations I've ever been in. Granted, it was when they immediately opened so it was sparkling and new at the time. Staff were always incredibly kind and helpful, and the store layout was clean and made sense. Shelves always stocked. And love that they have a grocery section as easier to get here than the grocery store sometimes. 10/10 recommend. read more

Target - chicago west loop is the worst location in the Chicagoland area. The customer service gets worse with each visit. And to the girl that was working drive up today 2/8/26 at 10:30am - black female, about 5'3", jeans, attempted slick back ponytail: girl if you don't like your job then get a new one and I suggest it be one that can help you afford to go to small claims court if you're going to be slamming peoples doors as if you got it like that. Because please believe I'm already getting my car looked at and depending on what's wrong with it, you may be getting a real big wake up call from me and my lawyer. In the "everyone gets a trophy" department, getting to this Target is excruciating. If you make it past the neighborhood, you still need to get past the parking garage and the first level. After that, you need to make it past the angry-and-resentful people at the customer service desk and the checkout lines. Okay, now, walking past the women's clothing area is an effort beyond all human-imaginable effort. If you're a guy, be prepared for all manner of approachment. Is that a word? Not, really. But you're going to have to be inventive if you'd like to get to the men's clothing section. Target apparently doesn't think too much of clothing, or at least people wearing it. The food aisle are generally clean, and this being a food desert (actual term), Target knows this. Try to avoid the branded pepperoni. You be you --- buy what you want. The generic bread stuffing is actually delicious. Hold on, next ordeal. Be prepared to be judged. You didn't buy any Cuisinart items today. So we're going to kick you back to wherever you came from. The restrooms here are, well, um, let's say you don't want to use them before or after a purchase. No, you're not done yet. The escalator up was already pretty risky. Now you either have to survive carrying your bags while on the down escalator, or you have to live through pushing the shopping cart onto the automated cart escalator. They have an elevator also. Either that, or you have to live through the angry-and-resentful Shipt delivery. That box of cereal or La Croix is much more emotionally-expensive than you could ever imagine, particularly at this location. read more

Some good things here: free expansive parking lot which is free, which is amazing for a dense neighborhood. The store is big and has a lot of stuff. However the staff were not helpful and it's hard to know where things are: I was looking for insect repellant, went to look around pharmacy but nothing: asked pharmacy just in case and they said "it's OTC go ask a team member" (usually pharmacy advises on OTC). I went to the main information desk and the lady's answer (without checking or looking) was "I don't think we have it". Looked online: they have it in gardening, which is a very small corner in the far distance from the exit. Check out was fast but they had variably long lines. read more

I like having an actual, full Target store in the heart of the city. Located in the West Loop neighborhood, the store is easy to get to. Just outside of the Loop area, there is enough room for a large parking lot. Having parking at a store like Target is super helpful. You never know how much you'll end up buying!! I find the store to be clean and organized. They always seem to have what I'm looking for. Only on a few occasions, do I have a hard time finding what I came for. The staff is nice. They are friendly enough. I can't say anyone has stood out as being extra helpful or nicer than most, but they get the job done. A smile goes a long way but I appreciate the assistance just the same. read more

Convenient parking. Standard Target otherwise. All of the cart wipes and hand sanitizer pumps are empty. They should really just remove those things to avoid the visual disturbance if they decided to end pandemic procedures. Nice, bright, clean and off street parking. Parking was seriously one of the biggest reasons for choosing Target. Im sure it is just me, but I find street parking in Chicago confusing. We were able to get in and get the few items we needed for our hotel stay. Either Illinois or Chicago has a bag fee. .07cents per plastic bag. So bring your own reusable bag. The worse retail experience i had on this store. I purchased a laptop computer on line specifically to avoid this kind of treatments. Unfortunately I had to pick the item at this store. When the item was picked up, I received the wrong laptop from 2020. 3 ladies from customer service told me that I had to return the item even so I just wanted to go to electronics to look for the advertised laptop. Prior to so, I had received an adjustment credit of 10.00 for the inconvenience. But this lady, made the return without my authorization and because the return was posted on my credit card and the adjustment, my credit card was flagged for suspicious activity because I was going to buy back the computer. I told her that I was going to check my credit card or get cash. Then she told me that she can hold the computer for 30 minutes only and that the 10 dollars adjustment given to me they were not longer available, that was used only once even tho they took it back. read more

A woman and her 3 children didn't have their masks on during their entire excursion at Target. I had to keep reminding my son and daughter to keep their distance from them since we kept crossing paths in the Halloween section. She finally put her mask on in the checkout line but her three children didn't put their masks on. The woman didn't have her nose covered. I tried to avoid her by going into a different line but then she followed right behind me and didn't keep her distance. Her kids were all old enough to know better. My son goes to school with them. They all had their masks with them but chose not to use them. They literally were on top of us in line. I asked her to keep her distance and she didn't budge. I told her that her kids should be wearing masks. I told the cashier and he said nothing. I mentioned to security and they did nothing. She yelled at me to spray myself with Lysol. I yelled back that she should spray herself with Lysol. Hah. My son has had cancer twice and I have elderly parents who we visit often. Who acts like this? Also, why didn't Target security step in? I'm so disappointed. On our way out, her children ran out in front of us and blocked our exit. Of course they still were not wearing their masks. If you have visited this Target then you know the exit is very narrow and their is absolutely no air circulation. I pleaded to them to put their masks on and clear the exit way. Literally it was like talking to a wall. I wish I took a video of all of this. I'm absolutely horrified with my experience. This happened to me and my children at 10pm today on October 20, 2020 during closing time. The staff should be trained better and disciplined for not taking any action. read more

This Target is very close to my office so I go here a few times a month to pick up various things I need in my life. This store is your standard Target and always well stocked but the service can be extremely slow. I've been there early in the morning and later in the night, not busy times, but there always seems to be huge lines at every open register AND self checkout. I'm sure most the people reading this can relate to going in for one thing and coming out having spent $50+ on crap you'll be too lazy to return until after the 3 month window. Now? I'm impressed if I go to Target 5x a year. What happened? I moved away from my beloved Elston Ave Target and got this one as a replacement, with South Loop as a backup. Have you ever been to the SLoop one? It's terrible. That's why this one sits at a nice "average" star rating, because it's not the worst, but I certainly have reeled in my spending. They never have anything here! Im sure it's because it's not that big, but when it's your closest Target and you're trying to avoid being price gouged by Walgreens and CVS, you'd hope they'd be your spot. The one thing I love, and this is all Targets, is the drive-up feature. It beats waiting in the long lines here any day. The employees have always been great, including security! This store might do in a pinch, but if you're near a better one (ahem, Elston), go there. read more

Parking: Spacious! I don't drive, but every time I come I walk through the lot and there are plenty of spaces. Store: This location is massive! It has everything I need - from pots and pans, to bedding, to groceries, to personal care items and vitamins. No complaints as far as selection. Employees: As other reviews have said, most employees seem to be fairly young. My checkout experience has been fine and they've been helpful whenever I've needed something. Also note: There is both a Starbucks and Pizza Hut here in case you get hungry or need a coffee. I come here often, as it's close to my boyfriend's place. This target is huge! I looove going here cause target just keeps getting better and better. The only bummer is that my favorite ice cream from market pantry is always sold out and there's a lot of uic students. But other than that, I enjoy going here for more groceries and miscellaneous items. This location is located by UIC though so you'll see a lot of students here. There's a huge parking lot underneath. You go up the escalators on the right and there's a starbucks and Pizza Hut right away. The store is very organized and clean. I usually just get groceries here but I find that deals on hygiene products or makeup are often cheaper here. They also price match their online prices that are usually cheaper. I price match almost everything except for food. Their app is useful as well as it always has coupons and deals you can add to your wallet, which I always take advantage of. read more

This is my go to target in the city. I love that there is plenty of ground floor parking, and there are always a ton of available spots throughout the day. I switched my pharmacy to the CVS in this target, and I am so grateful. They are efficient, and I have never had to wait over 5 minutes, unlike my experiences at a few other pharmacies in the west loop. The Starbucks is also a huge plus. Wow! What a great addition to the West Loop! This Target is clean, well stocked and full of helpful employees who seemingly are everywhere just waiting to point you (or in my case personally escort me) in the direction of what you are looking for. Now granted it just opened up and they are still in the new store phase- but what I saw, I liked. I also liked that there is plenty of free parking on the first level with escalators that whisk you up to the 2nd floor where you can pretty much find anything your heart desires. And there is always plenty of free street parking around as well. There is a Starbucks, snack bar, grocery and all the other things that a neighborhood Target provides. It also cleaned up a stretch of Jackson that has been an eyesore for awhile. I wasn't sure I was going to like this retailer here- but now that they have arrived I have changed my mind. He's unable to explain issues with insurance and has attempted to embarrass me by speaking loudly about my prescriptions so other people in line can hear. You're a disgrace. Worst Target experience I have ever had! There were 3 registers open when long lines and the self checkout was 10-15 people deep. Then, by the time I got to the register the system was slow and shutting down. I had 3 items and it took 15 minutes to check out. I have been to this Target multiple times because I live in the area and my experiences are never phenomenal. read more

THIS IS THE ONLY TARGET THAT I LOVE GOING TO! First of all, the parking is HUGE! You can get parking spot easily. Second, this is the only target that have tons of double seater shopping cart (is that the name?). Trust me, going to buy stuff with 3 years old, 2 years old and a 3 month old baby are NOT EASY! You really need to strap them especially if you are going to a store where it sells toys! At any other target, you can't find those double seater shopping cart. Third, the store is organized! Seriously people, if you go to the one on McKinley Park, you might get crazy because that store is sooo NOT organize. Although I do agree with some of the reviews. There are 20 check out lanes, but the ones that are open is probably only three or four. I do agree that they need to utilize most of the check out lanes all the time and not just during busy season like black Friday or Christmas. But overall, I do think this target location is the best one by far around the city! read more

I live to a Target closer to me, but I prefer to go to this location for its cleanliness, service, the optical department (Dr. Paik and staff), and the Starbucks that beckons as soon as you get off the escalator. There's a nice dining area to hang out immediately to your left off the escalator, which overlooks Jackson providing a nice view. Otherwise, this is like other newer Targets, incorporating parking on the ground floor. This location is so much less chaotic than the Roosevelt store, and for that, I'm grateful! read more

I don't think anyone works here except 1 cashier who literally takes 15min to process an order because she won't stop talking. She's like the Target Lady hyped up on Red Bull just word vomiting. It's nice she is friendly & helpful but she is a mirage. Stop & go to another lane because that one person in line has been there awhile & the other lines are from frustrated folks who just want their stuff and get on with their lives. If you need help... good luck & I hope you brought your sneakers because you have to be stealthy & quick. The employees are shy creatures and when startled with a question are know to take off at impressive speeds for aisles unknown... Target Tardis? If you do happen to capture the attention of one of these elusive creatures they will sullenly trudge off without a look back & you better keep up if your lucky. If not lucky you will get vague directions and a point which is 50/50 it's in the right direction. I don't shop for food here as I don't think the prices are any better than the Mariano's on Halsted. & their produce always looks sad. Charlie Brown Christmas Tree sad. The only nice thing is this Target is usually an easy in & out as long as you know where everything is on your shopping list & you don't get sucked into that 1 person line mirage. WARNING CONCERNING THEFT/FRAUD AT THIS STORE. Previous experiences in this store have been more or less neutral experiences, or even negative for that matter. As other Yelpers have commented, almost everyone in this store is a teenager or early 20s, and it's impossible to find anyone to help you. I never felt motivated to write a review until my experience last night, because I think people should be made aware of this experience. I got around $200 worth of groceries/other items last night, and this morning when I was looking over my receipt, I thought something seemed a little off. Upon reviewing my receipt, I noticed a charge for a $25 gift card that I did not purchase. My initial thought was that there may have been a mistake, so I called corporate and they confirmed the card had been emptied several hours later. This was not a mistake. The cashier knowingly charged a gift card to my credit card, and then made sure to spend it before it was reported. Corporate advised me to check in with the store management, which I proceeded to do. I stopped into the store, and guest services quickly put me in contact with store security. After about 10 minutes, their head of security came down to talk. They were able to refund the fraudulent charges, but nothing else was offered. I appreciate and fully believe that security took the situation seriously, but I feel violated knowing that one of their employees literally stole from me, and I was disappointed that no further gesture of goodwill was shown.
