I am very grateful for this platform with which I can share the highly disappointing and unsatisfactory customer service experience I had at this Target that I grew up shopping at. I have since moved away from the area, and no longer frequent this particular Target for in-person shopping anymore, but I had a last minute dinner in the area on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2024. Against my better judgment, (because I seldom shop in-store anymore, but prefer online shopping/shipping instead for a plethora of reasons), I decided to go inside to shop for my items this time. Much to my great dismay, items were not stocked, difficult to find, and nonexistent in some instances. I shopped and pushed past this inconvenience into a situation that I cannot forgive and forget that is the reason for this whole entire paragraph. Unfortunately, I could not use the self-check-out (my absolute favorite preference) because of course, I had MORE THAN 10 items : ( new rules : ( So I headed to the only three registers that were open, each with full lines of people five customers long. As I approached the first line, I noticed the light was off. I kindly asked the cashier if she was still open. She replies in an overly casual attitude-y voice " ...I WAS" ... So, I kept walking to the next cashier and I replied back, "you can be closed". : \ Wow. Rude much?!? The line I was standing in (the second line) was extremely slow and not moving. It took so long. I noticed the customers in the third line that was actually longer, but they were finally moving and leaving before me. My cashier "Ivan" was a sweet kid though I think he had some minor developmental challenges. His cashiering style was very, very slow. All of a sudden, the first cashier who rudely told me she was "closed" and walked away, returned to her register and was checking customers out, as I was stuck there not moving. I observed both registers to the sides of me checking people out and several people leaving before I even had a chance to get my items checked. It was horrible. I was easily standing there a good 15 minutes longer than I had to be/should of been. What made matters worse is that when I went to customer service to report what had happened with the cashier woman I believe her name was something like "Deana"or "Diana". I asked to speak with a manager. The workers called for her repeatedly, and she NEVER came. I stood there almost 15 minutes. They were embarrassed, they did not know what to do. The manager who I was waiting in vain for "Connie" knew full and clear well that she had a customer who requested to speak with her. I was standing there for so long, they kept trying to reassure me that they had called her and that she would be coming shortly to speak with me. But that NEVER happened. The nerve of this so-called manager "Connie"! One of the workers said out loud, as he was on walkie-talkie, I guess, he was inquiring and talking amongst his coworkers about who wanted to see Connie?, and that she had said; "What does she want" ??? Are you freaking kidding me ?!? I was literally standing right there. In clear plain view. Roll the tapes back. There I am, trying to have an audience with the manager regarding the unsatisfactory "customer service" of an employee where low and behold, now I am confronted with even the manager's unprofessional lack of stellar customer service. Unbelievable. I will not be setting foot in this Target again, that's a promise. read more
