I don't think I have ever given a 1 star but the way I was treated at this store is still unbelievable. I stop in once in awhile as I am always in the area and I was checking out what squishes they had. I FaceTimed my daughter to see if she wanted one and the girl called another worker over. They told me I couldn't buy any because I had already been in the store and purchased some. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told them I hadn't been there in over a week and she was mistaken. One worker told the other to stop talking to me and she walked away. I wish they would check their cameras and see that I was never in the store. I no longer care about getting a toy from there but I hope they realize their mistake and the way they treated me. read more

Kids and I love this store! Huge selection on toys, games, snacks, personal items, beauty, electronics, clothes, etc... all for amazing prices. Every time we walk into this store, staff will always greet us with a hello. This store is like a candy store for my kids. They can spend hours just browsing around and shop for what their hearts desire. When Christmas comes around, this place definitely saves me money. Some items sold here are at a great price compared to other stores we have come across. Love the $5 t-shirts they sell because it's all too cute with good quality materials. You can find some unique snack items from other Asian countries at decent prices. It's always a highlight of our visit every single time. The good: I got lots of kids' coloring books here as well as color your own stickers. I also got two cute fly swatters because my mom couldn't find any when she went to the Dollar Store. I enjoy perusing their interesting collection of kids toys and dorm room merchandise. It's a great place to get balls as well. They have a variety of birthday decorations like balloons, small pinatas, candles and plates. The bad: I came looking for graduation stuff like leis, stuffed animals or cards but only saw balloons as an option. It may be because it's already mid-June but I was hoping to still find things. The interesting: There are things here that aren't five and below. They have bigger items that are more expensive as well and can go up to $20. read more

I have seen this store a lot on social media and I was glad to hear there are some popping up in my area and today after a massage I drove to cvs nearby (that review coming next) and I saw this place across the street and went omg I need to check this out finally! Read reviews at cvs while I was shopping just to get a preview and someone literally posted like a day or two ago maybe yesterday with a 1 star saying it was junky messy and empty shelves. Not going to lie I got a little nervous because it was so fresh the review lol But others looked fine and normal for what to expect at these kinds of stores Sure enough it's tucked into a shopping plaza with what seems like very little places to park because there's a Trader Joe's and other shops but I found one close actually luckily Store was fine.. was it immaculate? No... did I expect that? No. Was it dirty? No... it was fine and yes this is like an "upscale" 99 cent store with practically the same prices lol except they tell you it's 5 or below Speaking of the price... it's mostly 5 not many below at least what I saw and shocker they have a beyond 5 dollar section Honestly it was fun to see certain things and I did buy many stocking stuffers but was I blown away? Interesting place to stop in to kill a little time, to realize how much stuff there is under $5 that interests me. When I initially heard of the store 'Five Below', I got it confused with 'Minus5' which I've wanted to visit. Totally different things. Once I got that straighten out and realized that this was a bargain retail store, reset my expectations and appreciated what they were selling. It's probably the better version of a dollar store (with a lot higher prices) and many things you could get more cheaply at other places, but they also sell products exclusively made for them. Some of the latter products to call out: different board games, various legally branded t-shirts, chargers and cords, large selection of play/sport balls, various plushies, and even a section for various fidget toys. It's geared towards the young. One place was a display called 'sweet deal' where you can pick/choose various individually wrapped candy for 10/$1.25. Not sure where else one could do this for such a low price. In terms of the inside, it uses the standard shelving and signs of the other Five Below I've visited, and it is definitely geared towards the youngsters. The biggest thing I noticed was how absolutely industrial the floors were...they hadn't been changed from the previous tenants and because it was a hodge podge of different materials and one-off patches, it looked really bad (imo)...as if this is just a pop-up and not permanent location. read more

Stopped in to do a little holiday shopping before the in-store selections are picked over like a buzzard noshing its lunch on a hot savannah. Lol ok, that's dramatic, but I was pleased to enter into a fully stocked store with all kinds of fun selections. Shopping at Five Below feels like an adventure with all the cool discoveries you'll make. I definitely asked myself aloud several times, "why didn't I come here when I was looking for that?!?" (New journal, charging brick, gummy hotdogs, SOCKS). They seem to have it all and at good prices. The workers are nice and helpful too. Only thing is the same thing that's challenging about most so-cal shopping is the parking. This particular Five Below shares a parking lot with a Trader Joe's and a Target so it can be busy busy. Allow a few extra minutes to park if you visit during peak hours! read more

Don't shop here. Cashier Angie and Store Manager Stephanie are incompetent. I purchased items from this store and cashier Angie said I couldn't purchase the items after I scanned and paid for my items with my receipt in my hand. She took back my items and gave them out to other customers after I paid for them. My husband had gone the day before to see if they had the item and two associates told him no. A third associate said they were in the back she would check if they were still back there, she came back with another employee and told him they were not going to put them out today that they would but them out tomorrow morning. This morning before the store opened there was a tray and there was items missing from them already. I wouldn't put it past them that the employees purchased them when the store was closed. The service was terrible. I was trying to get help with the sizing of a phone case because it wasn't mentioned on the display. I tried to ask for assistance, but the lady was too busy talking on her personal phone, having a heated argument with someone. She turned her back on me when I tried to ask her a question. I was shopping nearby at Big Lots and TJ's so I decided to stop in and see what they had. I grabbed one of their unique carts and I did not last even 5 minutes in this store. Nothing but junk! I mean, if you are looking for lil knick nacks and what not then I guess it's ok but Dollar Tree has much more useful stuff and less expensive than this place! It's a great area for it as the shopping center is congested so you know they'll get foot traffic but this place won't get mine again. read more

If you are veer looking for low priced gifts, this is the place to go. It is a hit or miss, but often times, I find something that is great. Everything is $5 or less. They have toys, bedroom items, beauty items, electronics, and so much more. I went a little late and it was closer to Christmas, so lots of stuff was gone. I was able to find wrapping paper, boxes, and gift tags at low cost. The store was pretty clean too and staff was attentive to any assistance anyone needed. First and probably last time at this five below location. The store itself is located in an older shopping center with terrible parking. Very congested and during busy times, hard to find a parking spot. Entered the store and saw tons of cheap junk. Everywhere you look, junk! Cheap toys, cheap household items, candy, socks, tee shirts, etc. It's a slightly more expensive dollar store. Their store name is five below, yet everything I saw was $5 and some change. The store was dirty and needed cleaned. Dirty floors and shelves. The product needed tidying up too. They don't even have a regular checkout. All the registers are self check outs. Not my type of store, but I did find a couple of tee shirts at $5.55 a piece. Will probably not be back. read more

this five below is in a pretty decent sized plaza. there's a target and a trader joe's right next to it, so the parking is fairly easy. i was surprised to see how big this five below was. the compton and hawthorne locations are a bit smaller than this one. i've been here twice and have seen way more items than the other locations. this one's clean and neat for the most part. i love coming to five below to find some gems for a good price. they have so many things like toys, books, stuffed animals, home decor, & more. the candies are also pretty good too! i didn't need any customer service but there was a ton of people working that day. like i'd say more than 15 workers! i'd definitely come back to this location whenever i'm in the area read more

Since when do the employees pick and chose who gets to use self check out. I have never been helped at the self check out my basket is full all the time on other occasions more than today, the fact that she decided to check me and not once helped anyone else makes me not want to shop there ever again. Customer Service was terrible!!!!! When I first entered I was not greeted. Then I bought a Squishmallow and it was labeled as $5. When I went to check out, it was $5.95!!!! I tried asking one of the workers about it but all they said was "Squishmallows are $5.95 and it is labeled $5 because there are different types of squishies in there". They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. It is so confusing and I DO NOT RECOMEND Coming!!! They have good items but bad customer service. read more

Fun for the kids. I like to take my daughter and her friends shopping here when they have sleepovers because it's so much cheaper than target and they can still get some cute stuff. It's obviously not the best for adult gifts or decor but definitely a good place for tweens to shop around and you won't break the bank. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I went in earlier this morning before noon and I was in the back looking at the clothing section. I overheard an employee asking another employee a question. The employee, which later I found out was the manager was raising her voice very rudely to the other employee. And then I asked her if she could help me with something, and she looked at me and walked away! What kind of service is this especially from a manager?? Very disappointed with the customer service from the manager Lee at this location. I have shopped here since the opening with no issues and great customer service each time. I bought defective items and within 24 hours of my purchases I returned with receipt and items in packages. I stated that I would like an exchange for these items, per my copy of the receipt it states Five Below will exchange or refund any defective or unopened items. The manager Lee came over, I explained the situation twice to her very clearly and she instead said "her policy states that she cannot take back any open items" I then explained to her again and eventually gave up. She was unfriendly, unhelpful, and uninterested. I ended up repurchasing the defective items, to end the conversation. I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews but this interaction felt discriminatory. I will be contacting corporate. read more
