The '100 Yen' store, Daiso - Artesia is on the smaller side compared to other Daiso's but continues to have unusual things that you wouldn't expect in a discount store. This was the first time when we visited a Dollar Tree and a Daiso in the same day. In this case, the nearby Dollar Tree in Artesia was quite a bit bigger, with a better selection of product. One thing I try to do on every Daiso visit, is to find a product I had not seen before at their store. This time, it was a large selection of fishing lures. Daiso has their pros, one of which being sturdy silicon kitchen utensils. They were marked as ¥200, which meant a $3.25 price (¥220 is also considered $3.25 for simplicity...though I haven't been able to find that price, which would make it seem like a 'sale'). I also picked up some non-BPA lightweight water bottles for use on our upcoming trip. One thing unusual is that this one has registers that have been somewhat converted into self-checkout. I didn't realize that I had a review draft on this Daiso location.... 12/30/22 Walking from the 99 Ranch after having lunch at Pho 200, I glanced over Daiso & saw the sign at the front glass windows-$1.00 Off Christmas items. I was hooked. Although I was carrying a box mangoes on one hand & a grocery bag on the other--that didn't stop me from goin in to check it out. It was fairly quick coz there really wasn't anything that interesting except for a couple of Christmas shaped felt cut-outs that I could use as gift attachments. While in line I saw a lighter with a long tip-snagged that one too coz mine ran out! As I mentioned before, you never know what you need until you walk in the store. I feel like this is like any standard Daiso store, it is full of cute items from Sanrio and Tokidoki (I'm a huge fan of both) at a really good price. The stationery items are a lifesaver if you're a student and on a budget. If you're a planner, they have a bunch of journals, washi tape, pens, and other supplies. I got a few Sanrio plastic bags in different sizes and one-touch wipe lids to make my wipes look adorable. Awesome service and one of the better locations! The place is very stocked and the shop is kind of small so it always feels packed. Regardless, we always have a pleasant experience and manage to find the things we come for most of the time. They have an awesome variety of items and keep up with the latest trends and seasonal items by placing them by the door. The prices are pretty similar to the other ones and aren't too unreasonable. The service and employees are the best part. They're very nice and helpful which make me really enjoy our visit. My sister and I needed help reaching for something from a top shelf and when I asked the cashier because no one else was around, he immediately dropped everything and came to help me. From false eyelashes to neck ties...Daiso has it all! Stopped in for an emergency child's birthday gift...(Sanrio addict!). I was not disappointed. I like coming here when my parents go grocery shopping at 99 Ranch. Their products are so cute! Though it has been at least 3 times that I didn't have a good experience shopping here. When checking out to pay for the products, the cashiers were very grumpy and unwelcoming. I noticed they do that often when only one cashier at the checkout. From the last time I was there, she rudely tossed the receipt and credit card back to me and never greeted me. As I leave the store, she loudly tossed some products on the floor. This is the perfect place to get disposable goods you really don't need, but you end up getting them just because you realize they exist and they are pretty cheap. It's like the Japanese version of 99 Cent Store except most of the items are $1.50. I come here mainly for amusement, just to see if I can find some ridiculous item and submit it to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I'm really digging "Chocorooms," chocolate covered crackers shaped like mushrooms, and chocolate scented soft strap. I still have no idea what the latter item is for or if it has any socially redeeming quality. There are some useful items like food umbrella to keep flies and bugs away from your food, and lots of tupperware and cleaning stuff, but nothing is all that appealing. All sales are final, no returns or exchanges. It's written all over the store and all cashiers will repeat this to each customer at the register. It's like they're trying to brainwash you. I'm going to be poor, thanks to you Daiso! Yes, now that you've finally moved into my hood that used to occupy the Diamond Bakery unit and just a few foot away from 99 Ranch, I'm sure I will be shelling out more money out of my wallet. Not only will I spent money on useless trinkets that looks like it is "made for Daiso Japan, really made in China". I often come here just for the Japanese candy/crackers that I know I can't find in stores like 99 Ranch. Also since summertime is here, great place to buy beach toys and drinks/snacks. The layout works like this, start from the right and work your way back to the left as you enter as the registers are on that side by the entrance. Note: $10 credit card minimum purchase, does not accept $100 bills, and all sales final. That's what the cashiers will keep saying to you while checking out. I've been to a few Daiso stores and this one just seemed more cramped and not as well kept; I found merchandise strewn across the aisles in several places throughout the store. That would be unheard of at other locations. As with all Daiso stores, items are $1.50 unless otherwise marked. A lot of the merchandise was the same as I've seen in other stores but I did see quite a few things here that I haven't seen elsewhere. I walked out with a cutting board, gardening gloves, hand towels and some rice crackers. Standard Daiso store located in the Asian-focused shopping center that also houses a 99 Ranch Market, Lee's Sandwiches, and Boiling Point. Parking here can be difficult here on weekend or other peak times, so be warned. Also, the spots are ridiculously narrow, so you may see cars taking up more than one spot. Daiso is the Japanese version of a dollar store, but leveled up with cute Japanese products. We come here often for things like kitchen accessories, school supplies, or party favors. Great selection that even had sample Pocky mushroom shaped treats (strawberry and chocolate were the two flavored "mushroom shaped caps"). Everything in the store is cheap - from Qtips, to Cookware, to pet products, to Origami paper (note: the selection at this location is pretty great). I'm usually at the Gardena location, but now that I know this Daiso is so much closer to home... Could be good for their business and bad for my wallet. This Daiso is considerably smaller than the Gardena location. Aisles are thisclose and it's hard to pass by anyone without bumping or nudging them. I think I knocked a few items down with just my purse or even with my shopping basket. I went here looking for a watch for my son, since his thing now his telling and keeping time. I searched the store twice and finally found the watch section. Lots of colors to choose from, and they are not waterproof watches. They've held up pretty good so far. Daiso has fast become one of the shops I go to when I need something specific. Need a little container for small lunches for my son? Daiso has it! Need a little change bag for the car? Daiso has it! The store strategy is quite simple, sell a wide range of things mostly all for $1.50 each. They generally are all asian type of things like little molds and cutters to make sandwiches look like pandas or cutsey little socks with random, big eyed anime characters on them. You can find a bunch of chips and candy here that is different than your normal run of the mill stores as well. Try the shimp flavored chips, Hi-Chew and one on my all time favorites, the Pocky. Well the reviews on the parking we spot on. I warned my husband about this and though its a regular strip mall we took half an hour to park. There were so many cars circling, or just parked in the middle not knowing where to go, I have never seen anything like it and we were boxed in with no choice other than to sit and wait till someone figures out where to go. More than annoying. I did not notice the store being much smaller than others. The isles are tight, so tight that I felt holding a basket took up too much room so I put it back. The selection was great, I think they even had more than at other locations I had been to. Check out was very fast, also suprising and the stuff you find is great. Again, not a place to take an impatient husband that just went through hell to park, I could have easily needed another hour to figure out whats what and shop, but we did find some great stuff, so far I can vouch cookies and cosmetics are great, I will have to be back yet again, I'm thinking perfect stocking stuffers. read more

This Daiso location is much smaller and much more cramped than I have seen before. It was also extremely messy and everything seemed like it was all rambled through already. However, cute things at cheap prices galore! My favorite things here are the bowls, plates, cups, and tupperwear. So far they are all surprisingly good quality! And cute, of course. I asked the staff for help and they were very knowledgeable and quick to direct me accurately.
