You go down the line and build a burrito, bowl, tacos, etc., picking your protein, rice, beans, toppings, and sauces. They also have chips, queso, drinks, and the usual sides. The problem is that the value and quality just aren't there anymore. The portions have gotten ridiculously skimpy. It feels like the scoop sizes have gotten smaller and smaller over the years, and even then, you sometimes get what looks like half a scoop. When you're paying what these meals cost now, it's pretty disappointing to walk away with a bowl or burrito that feels like they're trying to put as little food in it as possible. The chips are also just plain bad now. I remember Freebirds having pretty good chips years ago, but the ones I've gotten recently aren't even close. The overall quality of the food seems to have slipped as well. The employees weren't particularly friendly either. They did their jobs, but there wasn't much sense of urgency or enthusiasm. The restaurant itself was clean enough and perfectly fine, but the fun personality Freebirds used to have seems mostly gone. It used to feel like a place with its own identity and atmosphere. Now it just feels tired. It's disappointing because I remember Freebirds being a genuinely good place to grab lunch. The portions were good, the food was good, and the value made sense. That's just not my experience anymore. At this point, I don't think the food or portion sizes justify the price, and I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to eat here. There are too many other options for a burrito or bowl that offer better food and better value.

The fajita meat was okay, though a bit on the greasy side, and I wasn't particularly impressed with the chorizo, but again the options were limited.
