I can't even tell you how many times I've brought clients here. This is my go to in nw houston for amazing Tex Mex. Their beef and chicken fajitas are phenomenal! It gets pretty loud here during lunch time and dinner time. Although I noticed the last few Friday lunches it's been low key empty, which is rare here. Maybe the economy is slowing down. Pappasito's is like that cool jacket you bought a long time ago. It still fits and when you put it on it turns heads. But you always wonder if it was worth all the money it costs. This trip to Pappasito's I got my usual Seafood Enchiladas and a Presidente Margarita. My wife got the Tulum Combination Plate. Every thing was good, the seafood in the enchiladas was cooked perfectly, the shrimp were seasoned well and had a pop when you bit them. The scallops were firm and sweet with a nice sear. My wife's combination plate was great. She never finishes so I ate about a third of it. The chicken in the fajita taco was juicy and perfect, the cheese enchilada was flavorful, and the tamale was mouth watering. Pappasito's is good, but like that old jacket you notice the flaws. The decor used to be trendy and special now it seems more manufactured and stale. The service is a well oiled machine, efficient but mostly impersonal..., and that would be okay if it wasn't so expensive! read more

Having catered with Pappasito's many times in the past I've always enjoyed their Fajitas. The steak/chicken mix is always a classic for me and this recent visit didn't disappoint. The sizzling plate was full of great flavors, the steak was tender and savory, grilled just right. The only thing I don't like are their chips, very thin and personally I'm not a big fan of the buttery taste myself. I know I may be in the minority on that opinion but their fajitas gets the love from me. Service was very smooth for our private room event, plenty of waiters in/out and helped with the drink orders. Everything came out great. Plenty of parking in this location in a shared shopping plaza. Salt salt and more salt, I have been eating at Pappasito's for many many years, but I can't even review my dinner much further than just way too much salt, this goes way beyond being salty, I just can't believe how much salt there was on the food, you can go through years of my reviews and I don't think I've ever commented on salt before, but this was ridiculous. This is expensive food this is not a Taqueria and they should do better, beyond that the service was mediocre at best, my waitress must have been fairly new because she didn't seem to know her menu at all and it took forever to get anything and the restaurant just wasn't that busy. The fajitas were average and a bit lacking in flavor. The Mac and cheese was dry and had little to no sauce. The quesadillas were made perfect. The lunch snapper taco was epic but the enchilada had no flavor and was very dry. The rice and refried beans also had no flavor and were very dry. The service was ok but not great. I came here with some coworkers on a Friday afternoon right before Christmas. It was decently busy, but we were seated quickly. While our server was nice, she took a VERY long time to come and take our orders after bringing our drinks. We even had to ask another server to grab her for us. She came back, got all of our orders correct, but it was just such a long time between seeing her. The food itself was ok, the portions seemed big, even for items on the lunch menu. I got fajita steak quesadillas, and a beef taco. The taco was really big but tasted just right. Sweet tea was also pretty good. One thing my table noticed was that there was a server carrying a tray of food on her shoulder and her hair was literally touching plates - yuck!! We saw this not once, but twice. We were so thankful that she didn't bring out our food. Overall, we were not disappointed or beyond pleased with our experience. For some of my coworkers, this was their first time here, and they said they were glad to check this off of their list of places to try, meaning they didn't need to come back. Every time we come to Houston, the Pappas restaurants are a must-stop. We had a table of 8 and Deshawn was our waiter. He did a fabulous job! Very professional, attentive, had good suggestions, and got our food out quickly. He was very friendly, funny, and we all enjoyed the great service (one of my must-haves when I go out to eat.) The food was delicious. The cocktails were amazing. We all had different entrees and we were all very happy. The brownie dessert was really really good, but I was so full I couldn't finish it. I had the cheese enchiladas and they were the best ever! I want to reiterate what a professional and great waiter Deshawn was bc at the end there was a problem with an entree one of the party ordered to go that didn't get delivered to the table by the time we were done. I commend Deshawn for the way he handled a small problem that got turned into a needless complaint from someone in our party. I'd like to apologize on behalf of our party and assure the management that Deshawn handled everything perfectly and we even tipped him extra to make up for any miscommunication from our guests. So my first time here while visiting on a work trip. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender for a drink. After a little bit they took my order and when the food came out, it looked fantastic. It wasn't your typical beans and rice oval plate type Mexican restaurant. The pappasito's grill is served on a skewer, but the server takes it off the skewers before you get to eat it, so I wouldn't mind if it just came without the skewer (less hands touching the food). I succumbed to convenience today, sadly, because I am a slow eater, and because my hour lunch break limits my ability to where I can dine out for lunch, thus I encountered another disappointing Tex-mex experience. Ordered: lunch special chicken tinga enchiladas, generally spicy, but not this one...and crispy chicken taco...totally disappointing. I also found a chicken bone in my enchiladas!! That caught me by surprise, and not in a good way. Rice was okay, but also quite flavorless and a bit dry. Charro beans were salty and didn't taste house made, and overall portion size was not ideal. I was very hesitant eating at a chain Mexican restaurant but I had such a great experience. Walking in I loved the fun yet calming atmosphere provided by the decor and layout. The servers and managers were all friendly (especially Jorge and Deandre, I hope I spelled their names right), patient and answered any questions we had. Before I leave this review, this is not a reflection on the staff inside the restaurant. The food and service was wonderful but I recently had lunch here and had an extremely disappointing experience with regards to the safety of the establishment. Despite the area being supposedly under the vigilant eye of a security guard, my camera bag, valued at $10k, was stolen from my vehicle in broad daylight. This occurred even with security personnel present in the parking lot. After reporting the incident to the main office, locating about a mile away luckily, I was met with a startling lack of follow-up and concern. I had to consistently reach out to inquire about the footage they had captured. When I finally did get a response, it was merely a nonchalant apology and an admission that they had "forgotten" to contact me. This, in my opinion, suggests a lax attitude towards security and customer well-being. I find this lack of accountability and communication deeply troubling. It is my sincere belief that patrons should feel safe and secure when dining at any establishment, especially one that touts the presence of security personnel. Based on my experience, I caution others to think twice before spending any time here, as your property might be the next target. read more
