Good experience, complimentary valet with tips. Mexican breakfast was good, we got potato, chorizo, egg and ordered extra crispy papas, we got 4 different types of salsa, we liked the one in the bottle that was spicy salsa verde. Service was fair, check in process decent, im not taking away for any of that because our food came out at a reasonable time as well. a highlight was the hot cakes, and when I tell you its a big portion size and can be easily shared, boy oh boy, it was good, but too big for one person, two people could easily share a single stack. Would come back!
Came here to try the steak fajitas, which we enjoyed! The quality and flavoring of the fajita steak was good, and their tortillas were freshly baked and high quality as well. For more than $50 for the large (1/2 pound) serving, I'm not sure if it'd be worth coming back for me but still was glad to try once. The beef enchilada we got was also very good, had a rich flavor and sauce, and the chips and queso were solid. The vibe inside the restaurant is slightly more elevated than your typical Tex Mex chain.
Went back to Superica after a couple month break! Might be crazy, but looks like portion sizes / quality has gone down slightly. Didn't take a photo this time, but the steak quesadillas were definitely plated a little less elegantly and portion size smaller. The margaritas were also pretty small. The tortilla soup was as good as usual! And service was strong! They did mess up my Open Table reservation after mixing it up with someone else's reso, but I called and they fixed it.
Sad this place is closing . I came a week before it's replaced by a casual steakhouse and got to try their delicious carnitas
Finally tried Superica after being curious about it for a while. They have valet parking (I've never been a fan of this, especially for casual places like this), but there are self parking options close by. We were seated quickly and service was great right from the start. Settled on the parilla mixta for me and my two small boys and that was more than enough. It came with beef and chicken fajitas, rice, beans, and tortillas. The beef was cooked medium as requested and everything else was great. Beers are cold, but a little on the small side so I had to get 3 :). Overall a solid option for no frills, standard Tex Mex in the area done well.
The food here is so good it's unreal. The service was amazing. Our waiter was super helpful in deciding on what to eat. My friends and I got a couple of items on the menu but my food and appetizers was my absolute favorite. I got the migas, chile quiles and a cheese foundu dish that I can't remember the name of but it was so good. The ambiance was also very much upbeat and fun. I think this will be my new go to brunch spot in Houston.
Don't be turned off by the fact that it's a chain, it's really good. My favorite thing on the menu is their hot cakes. They're so fluffy, and the salted butter syrup is drool worthy. My husband doesn't even like pancakes and he loves these. They're huge, so you really only need one. I also really love the complimentary chips and salsa. The verde is so light and fresh, and the updated roja is smoky and flavorful. Paired with the perfectly thin and crust tortilla chip is everything. Other updates they've made are definitely an upgrade. The refried beans topped with queso fresco is great, and now comes bottomless along with the rice. Other items are standard TexMex fare, but these things make me return again and again.
Superica is one place that we continually come back to. In our opinion, these are the best fajitas in Houston. The meat is so well cooked and is the perfect balance of tender with some crisp on the outside. There is a butter sauce that comes with the fajitas takes them to the next level. While the fajitas are the main attraction, the queso, salsa, and margaritas are all very good as well. Of note, there is complimentary valet as well as a lot to the side for parking. It is often quite busy here so you may want to come early to beat the crowds!
What an interesting little spot! If you frequent the area, I'm sure you know, but the parking in this area of the Heights is WILD! Your choices are to park in their valet only lot or circle the block and risk parking in the approved lot across the street (with I arrived to to find with good visibility but shattered glass from broken car windows.) When I arrived, I almost walked straight into La Luca, which was popping next door. This spot, not so much, or possibly it was just the vibe- it felt more chill. The bar, situated off to the right side, was a bit of an odd little setting, but I have up say, the service was awesome. I watched as the bartender worked the room. I grabbed a jalapeño margarita, Bandit Queen, queso, and two shrimp tacos and everything was delicious. The Bandit Queen with tajin rim being the standout (but to be fair, if you add chamoy, tajin, or guava to anything, I'm more inclined to like it.) If I return I'll definitely do so for breakfast/lunch because their hotcakes are bigger than my fast. That, and the customer service were the big winners for this spot!
I came here recently with some friends and we had a blast! The vibes inside were so chill and "homey" and the patio was really pretty, and is enclosed with greenery, which makes it very relaxing! The food was excellent. I had the cheese enchiladas. They were so flavorful. Our server was excellent as well. The only thing is parking is a bit limited due to it sharing the same parking lot with La Lucha. Overall, I will be coming back!
Went for a solo brunch a few weeks ago and chose to just sit at the bar. They seemed really busy (which is great!) but that meant it took a little while for the bartender to greet me and get my meal started. I didn't mind at all since I wasn't in any rush and both bartenders were very friendly and continued to check on me throughout my meal. Sadly they were out of horchata so I'll have to come back to try that! I was torn because the entire brunch menu sounded delicious, but ended up going with the chorizo, potato & eggs which was soooo good. I've heard their pancakes are also amazing so I definitely want to come back with a group and try more of the brunch menu!
After trying Superica earlier this year and being underwhelmed, we gave it another try and found out they revamped the menu. We ordered the heights margaritas, happy hour queso, and the steak fajitas. Everything was great!
Very nice and lovely restaurant. I would definitely bring my friends here. Came on a Saturday for lunch and was sat immediately right by the nice big window watching everyone pull up or leave the restaurant (great people watching table). Service was very attentive, our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Staff was friendly and all working in unison. The food here is seasoned so flavor is popping in every dish (Thank you Superica!). Chips and salsas are very good. Started with the guacamole which was also good. I had the crispy tacos with charro beans (so good). My friend had the vegetable enchiladas which are also very good. I will definitely have that next time I am at this establishment. My margarita on the rocks was so delicious (very well balanced). We ended lunch with the tres leches cake which is also very delicious and very satisfying. Superica did not skip a beat. Very lively restaurant with an energetic spirit. I will definitely be back.
Superica didn't impress me on a first dinner visit, but since then I've been back multiple times for weekend brunch, and each time has been consistently good. Parking can be challenging on weekends, but there is complimentary valet and a few extra spots in a lot across the street. There's interior and exterior seating, with cozy booths and tables. Service is friendly. Chips and salsa: Superica has some of my favorite chips, crispy and thin and perfectly fried. The avocado crema salsa and warm serrano pepper salsas are delicious with a mild kick. The bottled red salsa is fresh and green salsa packs a nice punch. Migas: Scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and cheese, choice of chicken versus chorizo on top, finished with fresh avocado. I really enjoyed this combination and the generous portion for the price. The eggs are well scrambled without being dry, and the pairing with cheese is proportional. The chicken was a touch dry, but some salsa solved that well. I enjoyed stuffing each component into a fresh tortilla and devouring it as a breakfast taco. Refried beans and rice: Really delicious. The refried beans are of the smoother variety without as much chunkiness, which I prefer, and topped with creamy cheese. I could have used a touch more tomato in the rice, but overall enjoyed the texture and flavor. Patatas with salsa roja, topped with egg: I enjoyed the flavors in this dish, but there was sooo much salsa. The potatoes were thus a little soggy, though still cooked well. The over medium egg was cooked nicely and complemented the potatoes with creamy yolk. Bacon: Really generous portion for $7 as a side, and cooked well. Crispy potatoes: I enjoy that these are fingerling potatoes smashed and roasted, but they could be crispier. They seem to be on the blander side on purpose to allow seasoning to taste, and I really like pairing them with the red bottled salsa provided at each table (probably due to their association with ketchup). Hotcakes: The literal star of every brunch, these hotcakes are consistently delicious. They're massive yet somehow cooked perfectly through so that they're fluffy and soft on the inside and just with a slight crunch on the outside. The pairing of the creamy warm (!!!) maple syrup is heavenly. Because of how huge these are, usually one is enough to share between two people, although they also come in stacks of two and three. For reference, we finished 3/4 of three between four healthy and hungry people and it wasn't for lack of trying. Whenever I crave weekend brunch, Superica is always a top option. read more
Came here for an early lunch. This place was very busy, but didn't have to wait too long to get a table. My issue with this place is it seems like the entire lot was used for valet. So if you don't want to pay for valet you would have to park a little further out behind the building. We started off with their Chile con Queso. Anytime I visit Houston, ordering fajitas is a must. We did just that, ordered half steak half chicken. Most places however sell it by the pound, here it seemed you only got one option and it came with one side of rice and beans. Everywhere else I've ordered these, they serve it family style. Usually everyone at your table gets their own rice and beans. No here though. Here the fajitas are offered as an individual entree. The food was very delicious though. Both the chicken and the beef were seasoned snd cooked perfectly. The chicken was very tender and the beef had a nice char to it. The grilled onions were also very tasty. Overall we were really satisfied. It is a bit on the pricey side compared to other Tex Mex, and the unnecessary use of valet utilizing the parking lot through me off a bit. Not sure I'd return on my next visit, especially when I've already enjoyed other experiences a little more. At the least the food here is delicious and ultimately will always be the most important thing. read more

Incredible spot in Houston - the queso fundido is excellent, and the combination lunch plates knock it out of the park. I could drink the green salsa they have enjoyed the outdoor seating on an unseasonably warm winter day. One note: the waiter told us they're transitioning to a steak house soon. Came here for lunch to try the new menu. The salsas are great! The warm red salsa is my favorite. I got the tuna tostado, tortilla soup, and small salad. They come with rice and beans, too. The salad might be a size small, but the portion is big and the oregano dressing is unique and refreshing. So good. The smoky chicken in the tortilla soup is great. Everything was very flavorful and the staff attentive and friendly. Left full and with a doggy bag. Will return for the brunch pancakes. read more

One of my favorite places Raound the area to have brunch. Parking is all valet in the parking lot , but we can typically find parking on nearby streets. We have been here on the weekend for brunch and have had minimal to no wait times. Their red and green salsas look like they are freshly made in house. Not go-to brunch item I'd the migs. I am not a fan of refried beans, but eat the beans here -- so good! The pancakes are a must have...each is the size of your face and come with this delicious syrup. The adult beverages are a little light and could use a heavier pour. One of my fave places right now to brunch! PRO-PARENT TIP: Kid-friendly! Pancakes are not on the kids' menu, but they can whip up 1 pancake with a side of bacon for under $10 if memory serves me correctly. read more

The parking is free valet thank goodness because i can't image parking there myself.I will say at first my impressions weren't so great as we waited about 10 or so minutes to get water menu or chips . The manger noticed and came up to apologize and gave us a free queso which i thought was very nice that she noticed! I really enjoyed the queso , and chips and salsa ! The Og margarita on the rocks was better than the frozen surprisingly! I'm more of a frozen gal but not this time! I enjoyed the atmosphere but way too many flys ! i hate those boogies! I had the chicken verde enchiladas which were good wish i would have asked for black beans but pretty yummy! I'll be back to try a different margaritas and the fajitas for sure! the salsa is just so fresh and yummy . over all it gets a 3.6 star for me read more

We visited as a group of seven around 6:30 PM on a Monday, and with a reservation, we were promptly seated outside. The outdoor area was fantastic--our cozy corner allowed for easy conversations while enjoying the lively yet relaxed atmosphere. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious! Both the steak and chicken were incredibly tender and packed with flavor! The service, while attentive, felt a bit rushed at times. It seemed like the staff was eager to move things along, though that might just have been my impression. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food and a welcoming vibe. A solid Tex-Mex spot! read more
Came here for brunch on a whim after the rodeo traffic thwarted our original plans. This is always a great place and the food and service are top notch. I was a little put off by the valet only parking but it is complimentary and they have Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp QR codes to scan and tip if you don't have cash. The valet was super fast both taking and bringing my car back. We came early afternoon so there were a lot of spots. Food was filling and chips and salsas (both red and green) were given. They were out of the non-alcoholic "liquor" so that was a bummer because I wasn't able to get my margarita and both of the drink offerings used that same "liquor". My friend's espresso martini was made with cold brew which they did tell him. He seemed to enjoy it. My friend got the pancakes and they were huge. Word to the wise, just get one if you're not a big eater because it was almost double the size of his face. read more

We couldn't find Sunday brunch availability anywhere but I had a craving for texmex. This is where we landed. Good was delicious. My pastor tacos weee juice and tender, and the frijoles had some tolerable heat. The green salsa and Queso paired with the homemade chips were a great appetizer. My frozen drink was good too. We ordered bacon and hot cakes and they were top tier. Bacon was crispy and the hot cakes tasted like fluffy pound cake, with a slurry of butter and hot syrup to pour atop. The service? Not so great. Our waitress was nice at first but then failed to check-in on us, gave us attitude about how busy she was when we asked for split checks (another waitress took care of us) and when I checked my account the next day, she added a $10 tip!! I was traveling and can't find the receipt so I'm letting it go but won't be returning for that reason. The waitress didn't deserve the added tip in my opinion. read more

Food and salsa were excellent. Our server was awesome (sorry I don't remember your name). We went in the middle of the day and got the chicken taco dinner and flautas. The flautas were not so crispy in the middle, but it's hard to do. Anyway, now on to my chicken taco dinner. Just straight good TexMex like how I remember when I was a kid. They hit the spot. Simple and delicious. Tacos are large, took two home becaus I knocked up on chips and salsa. Both the salsas, verde and red, You can tell they are made fresh. So good! Definitely will go back. Oh, and it's all reasonably priced? Seriously?! YEP. Go check it out. read more

The pinnacle of Tex Mex. Superica is where you'll find your traditional Tex Mex with all the fixings-- rice, beans, & an unlimited batch of their fresh salsas and chips. I can never just order one thing, so I ordered El Lopez, which comes with two cheese enchiladas, two crispy beef tacos, and guacamole. I thought El Lopez was good TexMex, but was way too overpriced for such simple items ($28). read more

Love this place for Tex mex brunch! They have a nice size parking lot, which is a huge plus. Chips and salsa are pretty good. They give you two salsa options. There are a few cocktail options. The vampire weekend is a little sweet but very pleasant as a morning drink. The chorizo, potato, eggs platter was a good amount of food and comes with fresh tortillas. It's more than enough to fill 2 tortillas. I was pretty full afterwards! Would be interested to come for lunch/dinner. read more

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, good food! My sister and I stopped by during brunch! They have ample parking but offer complimentary vallet parking which I love. Don't worry if you don't have cash. Vallet accepts, cashapp and Zelle. We started off with a Black and white which is horchata and iced coffee. That's a really nice mix. You get a little sweetness from the horchata. Tasted kind of like coffee with light milk and cinnamon. My sister had the huevos rancheros. A little twist to the way this Mexican typically eats them but still very tasty. I will say that the ranchero sauce is not spicy at all, had a bit of a sweet taste to it so if you like spicy be sure to add a bit of salsa before that first bite. I had the doublestack hotcakes or also known as pancakes. These things were HUGE! Almost bigger than my face. I'm not a big pancake fan but these were delish!!! They come served with whipped butter, powdered sugar and warm buttermilk syrup which is not too sweet. Definitely recommend giving this spot a visit! Would love to come back during their lunch/ dinner time. read more

The five star review is for the service, chips and salsa. My daughter and I actually came here by accident thinking it was La Lucha but we were told we could order from La Lucha menu there. We put our name on the list and we were lucky to find two spots at the bar. Out came the basket of tortilla chips beautifully fried and two different salsas. One was smokey the other was more fresh and I was told blended with avocados. Being a smokey mezcal lover I preferred the smokey one. My daughter the other one. It was a win win situation. Roman was out bartender and he was an absolute delight! I don't like sweet drinks so I ordered a mezcal rita...not too sweet and it was perfect. The bar started to get crowded as people started coming in and waiting for tables. The guys behind the bar were on point! They were super friendly and running that bar like a well oiled machine. We finally got the text that our table was ready. Again the service was amazing. Even though the menu at Superica looked super rica we came for La Lucha. My review for them is on their page. I will definitely come back for the hospitality and to try their food the next time I am in town. read more

i used to love this place but my recent has me sure i won't go back. service was horrible, took forever just to get a water, my friends drink which she ordered before we ordered food came when we were halfway done w our food the food was awful. i got the veggie enchilada, supposed to have mushroom, corn and peppers in it. i guess mushrooms are too expensive for them bc it was potatoes, corn and peppers. like how is that anything? and there was barely any filling, see photo. they also served it with unseasoned white rice. anyway, i won't be recommending this to anyone or returning. read more

Certainly! It consists of soft chicken tacos, crispy beef tacos, cheese quesadilla or bean and cheese nachos.
