This was my first time coming here and it won't be the last. Ordered 2 "Taco Alex" tacos one on corn and the other on flour, and my partner ordered the chorizo con huevo and huevos à la Mexicana tacos both on flour. They were massive in size and definitely worth the price ($3.25 - so cheap). They were also very good. I'd say they needed a little salt but that's something I can add myself and both the green and red salsas added great flavor. There are several tables inside and outside as well so there's plenty of space to sit and eat. They also offer a drive-thru. The staff were friendly and fast. The whole ordering and getting our food only took about 15 minutes. The best part were the freshly made tortillas (both corn and flour). They make all the difference. Sold four stars. The breakfast tacos are great! Barbacoa great! Fajita is okay at best. Food: the breakfast tacos here are top notch ! Home made tortillas. The Barbacoa tacos are legit! Full of flavor. Very good. The fajita is okay. They need to grill it differently. I like that charred fajita. Their fajita is decent. Wouldn't order that again. The green sauce is Amazing. Full of flavor abs made fresh. If they make their fajita better this would easily be a 5 star taco spot. The customer service is great. They have a drive thru which nice. They get busy but move fast. I found a nasty old screw in my food from this restaurant. Thankfully, I noticed it before I swallowed it, but this could have easily caused a serious injury. What made this experience even more upsetting was my conversation with the owner. During our conversation, he told me he knew this could happen when the refrigerator was moved, yet nothing had been done to prevent it. Hearing that was incredibly concerning because it made me feel like a known safety risk had not been addressed. Food safety should never be taken lightly. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. I hope the restaurant takes immediate action to correct this so no one else has to go through the same experience. read more

This is our first time eating in but not our first time trying their food. Service was great, a regular customer even helped the waitress serve us coffee because she was alone and the place was filling up. It reminded me of San Antonio where everyone treats you like you're family and everyone knows everyone. I thought this was neat. The waitress came out and thanked him by name. The ambiance is casual with a steady flow of customers. They do have takeout service and drive thru. Excellent food choices and plates are filled. I do recommend this place. Hole in the wall taco joint that's worth a try. I was in the area for training and decided to check this place out. The waitresses are nice and funny, prices are good, and food gets the job done. We had a group of six people and no one complained about the food. The green salsa in the bottle is delicious. If they don't bring out chips and salsa, just ask and they will. The tacos look like a great deal. I had a torta which was pretty good. Small place, not a lot of seating, bathroom could use some work. Don't be shy, give it a try. read more

They've got the option for a call ahead pickup order but we usually go on a whim. Saturday morning drive through line can be anywhere from 3 to 8 minutes but the tacos have always been so fresh and delicious. I usually get two and they're really hearty and filling. WE LOVE THIS PLACE. its seriously the best food I've ever had. I work at a school and we have had 2 group orders here and it has been incredible. Big fav is the Carne Asada but sadly I'm vegetarian so I only eat the rice and tortillas but its so good. rice is yum I put their green sauce on it and it's just incredible. By no means is this place amazing. It's a taco place. The lemonade is yummy. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food didn't take that long from when I ordered. The eggs I ordered this morning were green once I took the 5lbs of cheese off, I posted a picture using the Yelp App hopefully it will show up. I went back to show them and they gave me some story about how the had to microwave (the supposedly freshly made eggs) to get the cheese to melt and that is what turned them green. The owner is super nice, we just recently started coming here even though we've passed by it for years. First time I tried it was for breakfast which was really good, the huevos rancheros. Second time, lunch, I had the Carne Guisada and my husband had the Piccadillo plate, we enjoyed both. I liked the carne guisada more to be honest. Third time we picked up tacos to go for work, tacos are great, I've tried the bacon and egg, carne guisada, fajita, and chorizo con huevo. Even tho I had issues in the past with them messing up my order, overall the chicken taco is my favorite! With 1 Taco you'll get full.

If you go thru the drive thru be prepared to sit there for half an hour and when you pull up to the window another 15 minutes before someone comes to take your order. Placed an order for 2 tacos they were out of chorizo and told me it would be another 15 minutes for the food due to only having one cook umm no ma'am so I left after having spent my entire lunch time there hungry and empty handed. read more

This place is so freaking good. My job takes me all over Houston, and i never miss a chance to stop by this little gem. The "Famous Alex" is probably the best bang for your buck you can get in town. I come for the breakfast tacos! They're big, flavorful, and cheap. Don't the let the drive-thru fool you. It takes a minute. If I see three cars in the drive-thru I won't get in line. You can call in orders too so that helps. Their green salsa is addictive and the tortillas are homemade. I haven't tried anything else on the menu because I love their tacos so much. read more

Well it's average, I mean can't really complain I normally just come here for the breakfast tacos my son loves the potatoes with egg. Luckily haven't had any problems with the food every time I try. I usually get my orders to go and every time they have always been good, based on the other reviews I hope I don't fall into that group and have to Come back and change my review. I thought this place would be convenient and fast as I was in a rush to work. I ordered four breakfast tacos in total but when I got my food there was only two. I dont understand how you can get an order wrong (even after I repeated myself and said it to the drive thru lady's face...twice! ) Then after when I tried ordering the other two tacos, I was unable to do so as the machine had a $5 dollar minimum charge! "Just sign the receipt, there's nothing I can do then" That was the lady's solution. Definitely don't recommend this place. read more

You ask for beans they don't give you any, you ask for corn tortillas they give you flour. You ask for bacon and you get chorizo. This place is super good! I normally do take out since the actual restaurant is slightly crammed. But their flour chicken and fajita tacos are on point! I love their beef torta as well. Couldn't believe the reviews from this place when I read. Please take with a grain of salt. Reviews are mostly made when things go wrong, not right. For me, this place has been so right as I come to this place just about everyday. I love tacos. More than most people. I own a business close by here. I've tried just about every taco place within a 3 mile radius from my area. And again I come here just about everyday. Was going to Matamordos on Irvington but there stuff is pretty much slop make in bulk, not too bad but no where near great. Chilosos on 20th is good but inconsistent and expensive. These 2 places are my runner ups but Indios is way out front. Try the Alex taco. This is the taco that initially kept me coming back. You can't go wrong. Perfect combination of ingredients with an incredible taste. Try the Carne Guisada taco. Best Carne Guisada in the area. Hands down. Always consistant. Usually I go through the drive thru and wait about 10 minutes once I order. Which is a little long for a drive thru but the food is always fresh and hot so it's worth it. Red salsa makes the taco flavorful and green salsa makes it hot which is great. What makes this place special for me is the little things. To go orders have napkins and what I need to eat tacos on the run. Every place in the area puts lettuce and tomato in the taco so when you finally eat it the lettuce and tomato are soggy. It takes away from the eating in versus to go. Doesn't make the taco travel well. Indios always packs lettuce, tomato, and wedges of lime in a separate foil. So you can put in yourself for a fresher taste. That deserves a 5 star review in itself. Makes me cry a little everytime I unpack my tacos at the thoughtfulness of them thinking ahead of time to do that. I love you guys for that. This place takes there time, makes great food and separates itself with the Alex taco and awesome Carne guisada. From a self proclaimed taco expert. This is my everyday go to place. Say it isn't so!!! I have been a fan of Indio from the beginning. Great, authentic Tex-Mex AND add drive thru!! But, this morning I was terribly disappointed. My husband picked up 2 barbacoa tacos to go. He was back in a flash. Side note; you always have to wait, but the wait is worth it!. I opened the bag and noticed the packaging was different. The tortilla was folded in half(not rolled). The foil wrapping loosely folded. I asked if he went to Indios. He confirmed. The tortillas looked perfectly round and thick and stiff. Definitely not the little, soft homemade tortillas I've enjoyed. OMJEEPERS!!! PRE-MADE TORTILLAS!! Please, please don't do this! Is this temporary due to Harvey? Did you lose your tortilla lady??
