Excellent place to grab a bite and drinks. Great atmosphere and chill attentive staff. Plenty of room outside, inside and in the back patio in case you're not up for great live music in the front patio. Dog-friendly!

What a cute unusual spot this is. There's a front open outdoor area which is fantastic on a warm night There's frequent music. If it gets a bit chilly there's heat lamps which warm the place up. A small menu and there's always specials. The star of the show is the pour it yourself beer or wine. You get charged by the ounce. It's a great idea. They even give you samples to help you decide. Everyone is very accommodating and friendly. There's seating inside as well and an additional backyard. Street parking only. I'm def going back. The soft shell crabs which was a special were good. Burgers are delicious and I heard the bar style pizza is also good

Really nice spot and the food was better than expected. That said, how they are measuring pours by the ounce isn't working right. I had two pints of the same thing, first pour was charged at $13.79 - one expensive pint! And the second was charged at $6.83. A pint of Rolling in the Clouds was $13.25. When I walked in, someone was arguing with the manager and I kind of dismissed the customer. Now I see why. I would rather pay a published price than deal with some not-quite-working right gizmo. Check the receipt - it looks spastic because the system doesn't work right.

Stumbled upon this place while visiting for a beach day. Super cool concept where you pour your own beers. Ordered the burger (forgot to take a pic ) and it was a perfectly cooked classic burger. Perhaps on the pricier side, but good nonetheless. The gentleman working was very nice & helpful since it was our first time here. Will definitely be back!

Pork Belly (PBLT) well done. So delicious!

Pour your own drink at this beachside brewery! Wander a few minutes away from the main path and you'll find this beautiful gem. Tap That offers a great selection of beers, from pale ales to IPAs and everything in between with quite the convenient paying method, think of it as a Dave n Busters pay n play card, but for beer and seltzers on tap. They even offer wine, sangria and margs as an option. The outdoor seating areas are top tier with chic fire pits, umbrellas and Adirondack furniture for comfy seating with a partner or even better for groups. Enjoy all the options on tap while you play a game of jenga or connect 4, but remember clean up after yourself!

Been waiting for this spot to open up. As a Rockaway native it's fun to see the evolution of spots in the area. The self-service model feels overwhelming at the start but once you get the hang of it it's super fun to sample the rotating selection. This spot is for sure an accessible space for locals & DFDs.

It reminds me a time in the neighborhood when Irish folks were the majority and when times were so much more simple. This pub is low key, rarely crowded, somewhat easy to miss, and extremely local. The place reminds me a ton of the Courtyard Ale House in Sunnyside, from the exterior to the darkly lit interior with an intimate bar setup. They too had an outdoor setup during the pandemic. The bartenders are friendly enough and the clientele is a lot of older folks that drink alone. There are some TVs, which are as small as the pub itself. The drink selection is pretty basic with some bottled beer and some limited taps. Whether it's a glass of Stella or a pint of Guinness, it's what most of the place is often drinking. There are some TVs playing sports and no food that I'm aware of. The plus side is that the drinks are going to be affordable and there is vibe is the least pretentious in the area. If one is looking for a simple ambiance with a little sports and a lot of local vibes, The Dugout completely fits the bill. Indulge in the personalities and have a pint while playing something from their jukebox. If one is lucky, it might just be on a night where there's a little live music.

Cuisine: 8 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 8 Four of us came here because I heard their fish and chips are very good. I am a sucker for this famous British/Irish deep fried goodness. Well, I can say without a doubt that this version is excellent (8.5/10) as described. The dish comes with three pieces that are crispy and tender. However, they gotta make a better tartar sauce than the ones they served in packets. Also, we switched out chips for onion rings. They were fantastic! I also really enjoyed their French Onion Soup (8/10) and the Shepherds Pie (7.5/10). The soup was flavorful without being too salty like most restaurants, while the pie had relatively fluffy mash potato with tasty ground beef mixture. The only item that was a slight letdown was the Chicken Pot Pie (6/10). The puff pastry was decent and so was the cream sauce. The problem was the overcooked and dry chicken breast meat. Our server was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Btw, even though the space was basically a dive bar, the energetic 60's and 70's music was definitely a plus. Therefore, I gave it a slightly higher score for decor. All in all, this was a great experience.

And that is why I boycotted them. Everything was very lax at that time, with little enforcement from the SLA. In October, my partner and I headed back to try their Irish breakfast and to see how things had improved. At the time, a large party was being held in their backroom, and we were not prepared to wait forever. We asked to speak with the owner, Mike Peacock, and told him we had to be at church to ring the church bells. We appreciated his dedication to getting us our food on time, but to be really honest, the Irish breakfast was not the best that could have been made.

I got the Carolina Tangy BBQ and then I tried one of his Jerk Wings (which took entirely too long to come out . Felt like it was seasoned on the spot. Ate my wings slowly and finished our drinks before they came out). Carolina bbq wings were FIRE. Cooked perfectly, tasty sauce and it was great sauce to wing ratio. The jerk wings were pretty good too. I'd order them next time now that I know about the length of time it takes. The French fries were perfect as well honestly. Ordered some churros and they were a 4/5; just a little too crunchy but I enjoyed. My first drink was strong but I ordered a Long Island second and it was pretty blah. Service was okay. My server was kind of blah but she got the job done and was constantly around in case we needed anything. Ambiance was great. Really good place to watch the games with your friends. Lots of TVs.

We ordered the teriyaki wings with extra sauce, and they were really disappointing. The sauce tasted like straight soy sauce, very thin and salty, with none of the sweetness or depth you'd expect. No hint of garlic, honey, or ginger, and the wings themselves were dry. We also tried the grilled chicken club, which was also dry and pretty forgettable. The shoestring fries were hard, and the sweet potato fries weren't anything special, especially for the price of $8. It's a bummer to say, but we've decided to take this place off our revisit list. Sad to see a former favorite slip because of what felt like a lack of care coming out of the kitchen.
