Accompanying Basmati rice
Vivian H.

Came here to meet a friend tonight and we both thought the other person decided on this place, but since we already sat down and it was quiet and calm inside, we decided to stay. The food was pretty good here, however, I was severely annoyed with the waitress who wasn't really trying to service her customers but wanted to argue for most of the experience here so hence the two stars. Read on to see why I gave a lower rating than I normally would. Since this place is called Tap N Tikka, they had a nice selection of draft beers and I was impressed with their menu, which was on a digital board. The waitress tried to sell me on an Indian brewed beer (for example, Taj) and I just wasnt in the mood for one. Ive been to India several times and have had some of their beers in country. I asked for the Roses by the Stairs Czech Pale Ale and she didnt know if they had it. So I then said, if you dont have Roses by the Stairs, I'll take a Schoner Tag, which is a wheat style Hefeweizen. She then brought me the Schoner Tag, which was a very good beer. Next, we told her we weren't too hungry and mainly wanted to snack on some items and this is where she was being quite annoying. I mentioned the chaat on their menu and thought maybe these would be small bites as these are considered roadside snacks in India, but then she had to tell me oh no they are big portions, so I am like ok... I then saw kati rolls on the menu and thought we could get these and she says oh they are like big burritos, so then I said, well we could cut them in half and share it, but she seemed to think oh they are too big. OK, so after discussing the appetizer menu and couldnt seem to land on much, we now move onto entrees. She then suggests we share a dish, which we were both fine with. She initially suggested Reshmi chicken and said it had a creamy sauce, so we agreed. So, when we finally order the Reshmi chicken, I also asked for a garlic naan to soak up the sauce with and then waitress says oh its not too saucy. So, at this point, I am like whatever lady, can we just order here as you're not being helpful?? Then, she says oh popular dishes here are chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and also bhuna chicken. She said bhuna chicken was her favorite and better than the other two and had a sauce to it, so we finally agreed on this. When the chicken arrived, it came with rice and also we ordered the garlic naan too. The chicken was very good and flavorful, but I doubt it was bhuna chicken as it was a lot more saucy than how bhuna chicken is normally cooked. Bhuna chicken is normally more dry, so I dont know what this waitress is talking about. Garlic naan was so-so and I have had much better elsewhere and for $4.95 a piece, not worth it. I didnt eat much as I was headed to another meal, but did have a bite of chicken for taste and had one piece of naan. We had leftovers and she brought two take away containers. I asked for another container and she wanted to argue about this too. At this point, I just wanted to get out of here. I was like, lady, can you stop arguing with me? The food here was good, but the service was severely ruined by a waitress that didnt know what she was talking about and kept arguing. I thoroughly did not enjoy this experience. And on my receipt, the order was rung up as Butter Chicken and not Bhuna Chicken. With so much competition now (and so hard to earn a dollar and with skyrocketing inflation) and with plenty of other good Indian restaurants around, needles to say, Tap N Tikka, you lost my business and I wont be coming back, thanks to your rude and not knowledgeable waitress.

Chicken 65 Best appetizer. Just get it!!!!!

This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in Arizona. The location is very clean and it's well decorated. The decor is nothing fancy, BUT the food is absolutely wonderful.. We did not have one bad dish. Loved all if them!! I will be coming here again and again. The service very top notch as well. Friendly prompt staff.

Tap N Tikka is a place I've long wanted to try, and I finally took the opportunity to do so. All I can say is, if you love Indian cuisine, don't miss this spot! The restaurant is clean and staff is extremely polite and friendly. They've got quite a comprehensive menu with a lot of traditional favorites, alongside some dishes I've never heard of m, but that piqued my interest. Ultimately, I settled on their garlic naan and chicken vindaloo, both of which were incredible! I love spice, but this dish can get really spicy, so if you're not a big fan of spice I either recommend going very low on their spiciness scale or potentially opting for another dish. All around, an absolutely fantastic experience and I will definitely be back soon!

We always drive by Tap and Tikka and finally decided to try it, so glad we did! It was so good. We got the Chicken Vindaloo and Garlic Naan. We went with medium spice, which was actually pretty spicy, but we love spice so we didn't mind. If you're not a big fan of heat, I'd definitely recommend going with mild. The vibe of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly, but a little slower than we'd like. I know it was busy but the staff seemed like they were running around a lot. Overall though we had a great experience. The Flavor was incredible, and we're already planning our next visit!

Finally a delicious Indian restaurant close to home! We've dined at Tap n Tikka several times, and truly each time is better than the last. On the weekends during dinner rush, you will see that the place is packed! It's a fairly large dining area with optional bar seating. The bar area is such a vibe with the green and gold accents and gorgeous wallpaper running across the back. Every meal we've had, the food is packed with flavor and an aroma that will wow your senses. The portions are fair, I feel a little more on the rice portion would be reasonable. The naan- fluffy, soft and just can't get enough. The menu is quite large with an array of options for everyone. We've yet to try the dessert, but I'm sure it's great. Great atmosphere, top notch food & friendly service every time.

Garlic Naan

Hubby found this place for us to stop in for a late lunch after a quick car cruise through Tortilla Flat. Place was clean, and it was a little busy but not too much. This place serves authentic India food & a good variety of adult drinks. We orders the Chicken Manchurian, traditional butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. I must say, I absolutely loved that they used dark chicken meat in both the butter chicken and tikka masala, because the chicken was so tender and tasty, not what you'd get if the breast meat was used. I usually prefer butter chicken but the tikka masala here was just delicious. It was full of flavor and spivesAlso this was the first time I've tried chicken Manchurian, it was so good, savory with a bit of sweetness, and had a bit of a kick.

Delve into Dehli-ciousness at Tap N Tikka! We went with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Service was excellent, food was delicious and a nice selection of beers on tap too! I forgot to get a picture of garlic naan and garlic cheese naan but it was delicious! We shared tandoori chicken wings and the two different naan. We had chicken samosas and our friends had the tandoori chicken platter. We were all very satisfied with our choices and are already looking forward to another visit! Parking was right outside the front door. The restaurant was packed when we got there so I'm glad we had reservations! Be sure to check them out! You won't regret it!

Dahi bhalle

Great family lunch spot -- Indian food done right Brought the family in for lunch today and left very happy. Started with the Dahi Bhalla -- soft lentil dumplings soaked in cool, tangy yogurt with just the right hit of sweet and spice from the chutneys. Perfect starter. The Amritsar Kulcha with Chana was a standout -- the kulcha was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and the chana masala alongside it had great depth without being overly heavy. Paneer Zafrani was rich and fragrant (that saffron comes through nicely) -- creamy without feeling like it was drowning in sauce. Garlic cheese naan was a great call too, hot off the tandoor and loaded with flavor -- good enough to eat on its own. Washed it all down with a mango lassi that was thick, sweet, and cooling -- exactly what you want alongside all that flavor. Portions were generous, food came out fresh and hot, and it was a great spread for the whole table to share. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I get food every week, either delivery or dining in the restaurant. It's THAT good! SERVICE The servers and host are always polite and professional. They are friendly, and they provide great recommendations. AMBIANCE The restaurant is casual, but not fast food casual. It's more like date night casual. They have a full bar in case you need some liquid courage while dining with your crush. FOOD The food is delicious every single time. We have ordered: * mixed vegetable curry * korma * mushroom matal * rose ice cream * chai tea * vindaloo * samosa * naan * garlic naan * roti They were all SO good! They came with rice, except the ice cream, naans, samosa, roti, But I recommend confirming with your server if your dish comes with rice. I love that they have a tiered 3 level spice level inquiry. And their mild is not spicy yet flavorful. :-) SPECIALS * happy hour everyday 3:30-6pm * lunch specials Monday to Wednesday 11am-12:30pm

Where to begin? We came for a birthday celebration with some friends. When we arrived I asked about getting some desserts put on our bill for a surprise for the birthday person and was assured this could happen and they would be willing to make it happen. Our first time and now this will become a regular Indian restaurant for us! The smells when you walk in the door are a promise to what you will get on your plates! We started with the vegetarian Samosa, two come in the order. They were spicy and I only ate half but everyone else who are spicy eaters loved them! They came with a mint sauce and another sauce. We got two orders of their garlic naan...some of the best naan we've had. Thin and light and cooked perfectly with lots of garlic and herbs. So delicious! Also I had the butter chicken, based on all of the Yelp reviews raving about it. Ok, singing its praise as well! The chicken is cut into chunks and is so tender, swimming in some of the best butter sauce. I ordered "mild" which was perfect. And because we couldn't choose, we also got the Tandoori Chicken and we ate two pieces there and brought home the rest for the next day. Out of this world! Wife ordered the Paneer Saag, which was so good and rich. Large chunks of Paneer swimming in the saag sauce. Everything comes with jasmine rice and is served in small dishes for sharing. I tried a bit of the garlic chicken another person ordered but didn't taste anything else because they are spice people and everything they got was medium heat! Whimp I am!! Back to dessert; when it came time I asked our server about it and she brought me the menu so I could choose. No "special" birthday service which was fine, I wish they would have told me in the beginning, but ok...ordered the Gulab Jamun, which was honey balls, served warm in a light honey sauce (two in an order) and we also got the Rose Kulfi, which has pieces of rose in the dough. Strong rose flavor and they were ok...couldn't get over the pieces of rose in it. Overall, we loved this place and will come back for the savory foods. We noticed lots of Indian families coming in which tells us it's popular and serving authentic foods. Check it out!!!

Amazing service, amazing food! Our server was really helpful in explaining the best ways to reheat the leftovers, and that they do their entree sizes specifically so you have more to eat the next day.

I've left a five star Google review as well, suffice it to say, this place had been on my list of places to go try, and today I had a second day of celebration, a committed health win, and I decided not to plan a party but to celebrate by myself. I'm pretty sure that the photographs I've taken in the video say most everything about the food, but it's also the service and the attention to find detail that make this a very comfortable find. So whether you're with friends or family, or just want to have a beautiful lunch by yourself... If you enjoy spices and good food, this is a definite placed to try. I'm sure whoever waits on you will be excellent, but if you were extra lucky, you would have the same tall, young gentleman, helping you choose your dishes.

Popped in for lunch at Tap N Tikka, an authentic Indian restaurant in Gilbert. The atmosphere was very casual, and while the service felt a bit questionable when we first walked in, it quickly bounced back and became friendly and efficient. We tried the goat rogan josh and the chicken masala -- both were flavorful and well-spiced, though the chicken dish would have benefited from using dark meat. Overall, a solid local spot with good flavors and worth a return visit. Saluti

Hubby and I only received straws once the food came out and we'd asked again for straws. Later she brought us the wrong pizza, which she should've known better bc we'd just sat down, & NONE of the other food was ready. We didn't know, so we happily shared the pizza amongst the children only to realize the mix up after they told us it came with sausage (that you could barely see on the pizza). Oh well. They didn't charge us for the extra topping. Reading other reviews, & yeah, the $17 "[sun devil] burger didn't even come with fries!" It was fire tho, & they even had vegan cheese for me, which was a plus. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was so messy and delicious, and it hit the spot! No fries was a bummer tho. Ordered some for extra??? They have happy hour from 2-6 everyday with $1 off all drinks during that time. We didn't have any. Hubby didn't like the Nashville spicy wings. He was just expecting them to be hotter, & they weren't spicy at all. When we left, I was surprised to see a kitchen full of employees, especially with how slow the service was. My wife and I just ate at Hub Grill and Bar (Stapley location) while visiting Mesa (on our wedding…read moreanniversary) and it was outstanding! First of all, the service really made the experience memorable. Our server, Jessica (Jess), acknowledged and greeted us quickly, checked on us periodically and handled anything we needed gracefully (for example, drink refills, more napkins, etc.), and her personality was engaging. She was a lot of fun, guided us through the menu, and overall just made the experience memorable. My wife has a gluten allergy and Hub Grill and Bar not only offers a much more extensive set of options than most restaurants, but menu items that are really hard to find in GF versions - like fish n chips and fried chicken items, not just the gluten-free or gluten-friendly items that are naturally GF like proteins and rice. This place deserves a lot of credit just the selection of GF items, but they actually execute on delivering delicious tasting GF items! And they even have a dedicated fryer. I tried her gluten-free Hub Fried Chicken and I wouldn't have even noticed it was GF if I hadn't known in advance. They manage to make a great tasting GF breading that doesn't fall right off the chicken. And the chicken itself is moist and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. French fries were also crispy, hot, and tasty! The wings (cooked in the dedicated fryer, a total bonus) really are what everyone raves about. Best wings we've had in a long time, and we get wings as an appetizer in most restaurants. We didn't even try the smoked variation yet, wanted to start with the traditional version in El Jefe sauce and that sauce was just terrific! We normally ask for the sauce on the side and just forgot to do so at Hub Grill and Bar, but it worked out perfectly anyway because that sauce was so great. Just a little spice, great flavor (a hint of lime, a little cilantro taste), crispy outside, and moist and tender on the inside. It will be hard not to crave those wings. I'm still thinking about them. I had the (regular) fish n chips and it was also great. Flaky fish with a crispy breading on the outside that really stuck to the fish, along with great French fries, a little side of cole slaw and even a few slices of garlic bread. I forgot to mention before now that the portions are sizable and you really get your money's worth here. I think it was two or three nice big pieces of fish let alone fries, slaw, and bread! A lot of restaurants offer MAYBE two pieces and sometimes even one for their fish n chips. Hub's was two or three big pieces (they are more flat like a cutlet than the thick pieces you see sometimes but still, plenty of fish). And there are SO many more items we'd love to try here (the peanut butter and bacon burger, shaved ribeye sliders, and steak stroganoff just to name a few). Plus, the happy hour is great (and early - 2:12 PM, and we old people love our early happy hours!). We really are looking forward to our next visit. I'd even consider planning a visit to Mesa just to eat here! Now, what drew us here was the gluten free menu, but the great service, wide array of menu items and delicious food is what will bring us back again when in the area.

Our server, which I'll loosely use as a way to describe him, was lackluster and we felt as if we were a nuisance to him just being here. Yes it is busy for a football Sunday but the experience that HE could make a difference in he didn't. We'll start with my drink order. I asked for a simple Arnold Palmer with raspberry flavor. I received a red cup with ice and some liquid concoction that left my stomach feeling gross from the first small sip. He seemed confused by my drink order, here is his opportunity to confirm with me my want or to ask another coworker how to make it if he was unaware. But what he chose to bring back was a drink "with 17 pumps of raspberry", his words not mine. We let him know the drink was unacceptable, he changed his tone and service experience after that. Finally I asked for a water instead and that too took almost 5 mins to bring back to me. We ordered the nachos appetizer and onion rings as a starter as we planned on spending a couple of hours to watch the game. We asked for some extra salsa and sour cream for our nachos. It arrived sloppy and dripping into the other. We have one person who doesn't like salsa but likes sour cream. It ruined that for us. He even dropped the plate quickly on the table without saying excuse me or here you go. We chose to immediately cut our visit short asap. We asked for the check and boxes, he didn't ask one thing. Didn't ask if the food was good or if we needed something after saying we planned on being here a while. Our visit was less than 30 mins. What a major shame.
