She gave us so many great suggestions and catered to what we wanted and told us exactly how to care for our new plants. The entire store is super adorable and so many great looking plants and planters. Highly recommend! Would love to take one of their workshop classes once they start up again. read more

Let me start off by saying I rarely write reviews and when I do they are positive, however, in this case I had such a bad experience I am going to write a negative one. Working directly with the public, as I have done most of my career, is all about "resolving problems" and having the customer walk away smiling. Clearly that was not the case in this instance. I spent $25+ on a beautiful what appeared to be thriving plant. Although I gave it appropriate light and watered only when it was dry as instructed, I watched it die a slow death, lose it leaves and shrink down to a fraction of its original size. I finally decided to take it back to the store. After much discussion and the "boss" (the owner) getting involved, the girl removed the plant from the dirt and discovered that there was a cap (can't remember the correct name) covering the roots and effectively strangling them which is what was causing it to die! So, they reluctantly decided to give me a replacement plant. The replacement was another beautiful what appeared to be thriving plant. SAME THING HAPPENED! Took it back to the store once again and was treated as if it were my fault. Same girl (who I believe might be the daughter of the owner) gave me hard time. She once again removed the plant from the container and discovered that there was another material of some sort covering the roots that she said is "organic and is supposed to disintegrate". And because there was dampness on the dirt she kept insisting the reason the plant was dying was my fault because I was "over watering" it. She then said she "had to call her boss". She kept me waiting for a good 10 minutes, finally returned and said they decided that they will not give me any credit or another replacement plant. Just like that. Needless to say, I will never return to Tansy's. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. read more

Absolutely beautiful place. Tansy is very well thought-out in terms of selection, cleanliness and price. The parking was very easy and the service was top-notch. The owners greeted me with warmth and hospitality. Interestingly, Michelle (one of the owners) put together my bouquet of flowers that I had purchased from another store and thoughtfully arranged it in a beautiful vase I had purchased from their store. I mean she really didn't have to but she did and it was so sweet of her to do. Now that's service! Thank you and I will definitely be back! After researching small businesses of Burbank, of both the flower and plant variety, ideally woman minority owned, TANSY was the answer to EVERYTHING. Truly anything I could have imagined as ideal gift (the variety of thoughtful gifts and greenery here is the best I've found in all LA) was at this shop. I settled on a 6" goldfish plant, and as special surprise for my friend arranged to have it delivered which they do for free within 5 mi radius. Lemme just say, my friend's apt complex was a jungle to navigate and Michelle and Tansy went above and beyond to make sure this plant found its way to my pal. Forever grateful. Shauna is so knowledgeable and kind, and took the extra time to look at my yellowing pothos to diagnosis her with a little dehydration from the summer heat. Walking into this shop is like entering someone's home, a plant oasis! And because all their plants are incredibly healthy, I couldn't resist taking one home. Such a unique and picture perfect place! Great for one of a kind gifts. It just makes you happy being there.

Tansy is a whimsical verdant gem of creativity, joy, and color! I randomly came across the store and got to meet the events coordinator, a lovely soul and human being, while looking around the store. The outside area is perfect for small or mid sized events and I can't wait to host a birthday party there! The items inside and the plants and decor outside are delightful and so cute, I wanted to buy everything! My favorite were the boob planters lol and I didn't take photos this time around but will be back to plan the event soon. Highly recommend for any gift shopping or events, or just to soak in the good vibes! read more

Visited this store only two times, the first time I tried asking questions to the lady behind the counter but she was very short and dismissive. I thought she might be having a bad day. We gave this shop a second chance this weekend and she was still rude. She shouted at a child who was playing with something. As a parent, please tell me, do not speak to a child. Parents know they are financially responsible. In this case it wasn't my child but man it's not that serious. Your store is beautiful and we wanted to enjoy it. 10/25/19 Today as I was exploring Burbank, I ran into this beautiful place. It was so welcoming and beautiful with lots of bright beautiful colors . Plants, and unique gifts and decor for the home. You can build your own plant to take home. Private parties . No reservations needed. Bring your own wine or favorite drink cold or hot. And enjoy getting creative and decorate your pot of choice fill with dirt or rocks depending on the type of plant. Highly suggest coming here . This place is a joy. The owner and all of the staff are lovely and so patient when it comes to answering questions about plant care - even if they didn't sell me the plant that's currently at home slowly and sadly wilting, they're happy to look at pictures and try to help. So far, all of their instructions and advice have been spot on. I also appreciate their honesty. They won't try to sell you an expensive plant just to sell it, they'll ask you about what lighting/water requirements you're looking to meet and then play plant matchmaker. I brought in a beautiful big Monstera I got there nearly a year ago (it's flourished) and they repotted it for me because I was nervous about doing it myself. I've never found anyone at Tansy to be pushy or overbearing salespeople. You feel more like you're entering someone's home and they're attentive hosts and hostesses. The store itself is full of personality and there's something to look at in every space, but it's still clean and organized. I LOVE that they've been great about respecting mask and distancing protocols, and that they (politely) request you sanitize your hands upon entry. It was really a nice bright spot during the pandemic, and one of the only places I ventured out to throughout that period. Thanks for being my mini vacation, Tansy! read more

Inside the building is a whole section of plants and another section of various home goods and decor! Outside and before you enter their building, they have a small outdoor courtyard. here you will find vendors, a small stand with succulents, another tented area with plants, and a last area with discounted plants. Beware of this discounted section if you're a beginner: some plants are sometimes not as "pretty" as the rest of tansy's selection and they make need special care and lots of time to look immaculate again, and some may have bugs. This is what they are separated and discounted. But again, this is the ONLY section like this, every single other plant being sold is immaculate and super healthy and look like pieces of art. A GREAT Find!!!!! What a great neighborhood store with lots of treasures from all over...the owners/buyers are fabulously talented and very friendly! I took a succulent class and had a great time! (...then went back and bought gifts..) Have always wanted to take one of these classes...they also have "classes/experiences" in candle creating where you can create your own scent or you can make a fairy garden/dog park (for kids). The vibe of the store is very clean, creative and super positive...and the prices are very fair. A great place for parties or a get-together...or just go in to check it out and shop.
