Tansy is one of the best businesses I've ever visited. My mom is a plant enthusiast and I'll never forget the owner of Tansy allowing me to book an hour for my mom to shop in the store for her birthday, during the pandemic. I wish I'd taken photos of her haul but we were present to the moment and I can assure you that it was a great one. My mom was so happy and moved. I don't have the best luck with plants, but I am inspired by Tansy. The customer service is incredible and it's just a delightful place to visit, whether you like plants or know someone who does. Such a cute shop!! We saw them one day on Instagram and made the effort to drive ~30 minutes just to check Tansy out. I LOVE their collection of succulents and just all of the plants they have lying around. Their selection is great. They have some tiny ones for just a few dollars, and they'll even pot them for you. My boyfriend got his plant potted for an additional potting fee, but he didn't like it once we were home so he opted to redo part of it. We also looked up the care information (like watering / sunlight) for the plant that night, and we realized our research completely contradicted what we were told earlier. Hmm. I dig the pots and decorations here, though I admit I was hoping for more Etsy-style stuff. I got a pot shaped like a fox and a cute little Buddha statue, but I would've gotten much more if I had seen other eclectic things. I'll be back for more! read more

Came across this gem on one of our walks. Browsed around and found a lot of cute little trinkets, and plants of course. But there's really so much to see! My favorite part was the selection of planters, they have so many cute ideas. I was surprised to see tea cups and kitchen utensils. They have a selection of items for kids as well, like stuffed animals and room decor. There's something for everyone. Even though no one approached us to help, I did overhear some people being helped and the workers seemed to be really informative and really taking the time to make sure all of the customers questions and concerns were being answered. Popped in Tandy after passing by a million times. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I wanted to see what they had to offer. This shop is super cute, boho vibes and the staff was extremely helpful. I am one of those Covid - plant enthusiasts who has little knowledge about anything. So it was great to have staff help me select some items for my house and balcony. I ended up selecting a tree and a flower shrub based on Michelle's recommendation. She also recommended a pot for me. For 4 items it was about $200 which is a steal as I purchase large floor plants. Looking forward to going back and buying some more items for my balcony. Who knows? I have been to Tansy before and I have loved it. They have beautiful plants, amazing gifts, a great bird that hangs around the shop, and the birthday event I went to before at their store was so much fun. The plants are also super affordable and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable on how to take care of them. Right now I wanted to put my money behind small businesses that are BIPOC owned and are doubly impacted by what's happening. So I checked out Tansy's website and saw they were doing deliveries for orders $20+, if you're within five miles (I am.) I ordered four plants after they had closed for the day on Thursday. By Friday afternoon I had my new plants delivered. They are stunning and really add to my little jungle! One little succulent was missing but I shot then an email to say that it was no big deal. When I woke up today (after the long weekend sleep) I had missed a call from Tansy saying they were going to be bringing me my missing succulent, plus an extra. I wish I had caught them to say that wasn't necessary, but by the time I saw it the delivery guy was already on his way. I spent my evening potting my little succulents. They look happy to be in their little garden I made at a past Tansy visit. I'm not one for writing reviews, but I've already told friends to support and I still feel the need to keep shouting from the rooftops about how great this place is and how you should support them right now! You can do all your birthday and Christmas shopping here - and you're be tempted to buy yourself a treat or ten as well! Also sweet friendly charming staff. The cutest shop for all things plants. I would highly recommend to stop by whether you're looking for a plant to call your baby or grab something cute. They had candles and pillows, coasters and stuffed animals. The outside is gorgeous (perfect for those IG shots) and the inside makes you feel relaxed. I've been going to this store for the past 2 years and I was always obsessed. They've always had beautiful stuff and a good plant selection even though the prices were always too high I would still come and shop. But I went to this store on Monday October 17th and picked up a green goddess pothos. I was very excited as I did not have this plant in my collection yet but it was my mistake that I did not check the plant before I purchased and left the store. Once I made it home I was looking for the perfect spot to put it when I noticed white stuff on the plant. After inspecting the plant further I discovered it had a mealy bug infestation. It is now October 23rd and I am still dealing with the infestation. Mind you I paid $30 for this plant, so I will definitely not be returning to this store ever again because they fail to check & inspect their plants & they still over price everything. read more

I have been wanting to stop in here since they opened a few months ago! It's as fun as their Instagram and website promise: color everywhere, beautiful indoor and outdoor plants, interesting products that would make for cute gifts! I didn't have too much time to explore tonight, but I'm looking forward to returning. They even have great event space if you're planning a party! I want to return to check out the plants (I've been dying for a local plant shop and here is one right in my backyard!) But with the convenience of this location, I will say that the prices are a few dollars more than what you might pay elsewhere, but overall it's nice to support this local business and get something that I haven't seen really anywhere else in Burbank! Purchased a plant here and had it repotted, was told that due it being repotted at the store I could bring it back if it died. Saw the plant being repotted and half of the plant was left on the table. Left trusting the process and it died within a week. After bring it back I was told it was my fault due to being over watered. I wasn't asked how long I had the plant or what I was originally promised. If this was my first plant I would understand. I'm really sad to leave this review. My sister and I love shopping here, and we are always so intrigued with all the cute items and plants they have. Recently for my birthday my sister decided to get me a cute pot from here and had them create an an arrangement (these are not cheap). I had gone in with her that day to purchase and I was so delighted. The owner told us that these succulents didn't need any water till spring time and during that time we just needed to sprinkle and put an ice cube. I was ecstatic because it was low maintenance and beautiful. I was so proud of it posted all over my Instagram. However, after 2 weeks it completely withered. My sister and I were both sad (she bought one for her home as well and hers was practically dead too.) We went back to the shop to buy some things that had caught or eye last time but didn't buy, and we saw the owner (we are assuming, her daughter also works there) and explained to her. She said she remembered us and to not worry and to bring it back and they would fix and that we must have had it in a really dry place but we had them in a cool spot with no direct lighting - anyways we learned and were excited to bring them back and get them fixed and water them more frequently to continue to have these beauties. Well we come in on a Saturday, and the owner wasn't there so we explained to a lady at the register. I think she might have been new idk. Anyways she says she will repot. She takes and we walk around the shop showing our other sister that we invited - all the cute things, meanwhile the girl is taking such a long time. We don't mind since we are imagining she's putting together a great item. We also had also mentioned to this girl the owner told us to not really water till spring, she was so shocked and said no these are fragile and they need water or this happens. Anyways, she comes to my sister and I and says they are ready, and to go to the register when we are ready, and that she is only going to charge us the planting fee and I don't know what. And we told her, we were never told we would have to pay again and she says okay that's fine and walks away. We go to the register and they are so messy and dirt all over the top. I had three beautiful succulents and somehow she only added two and flat ones. So messy and unprofessional looking. I'm really heart broken on how they turned out. I didn't take a before and after of my sister but I'm sure she has pictures I will ask her for them later and update. But I'm attaching mine here. The cutest shop I've seen in a long time! I recently transplanted my fiddle fig tree and noticed that it was becoming sick so I came here remembering their large selection of fiddle trees. I actually looked forward to checking out this cute plant nursery near where I live.  However, upon entering I have never felt so humiliated until I entered this business.  I was shopping for a holiday indoor plant gift for a family member,  and thought I should support a small business during these difficult times rather than the chain stores. I am not sure if it was because I'm a person of color dressed in my scrubs with my mask on (I'm a frontline healthcare worker), but as I entered the store looking around, one of the staff members (did not know her name, she had long brunette hair), raised her voice and demanded that I sanitize my hands (it was dark after 5pm and I didn't see any signs to do so), which I was perfectly fine doing and looked around for the sanitizer as she didn't tell me the location, then she yelled at me again to tell me where it was.  She looked at me up and down and asked what I can afford. I said I was interested in the Pilea peperomioides (Chinese money plant), then she suggested a clay pot and said "she'd work with me."  I kindly asked for clarification, "Oh did you mean you can give me a deal for buying the plant and pot together?," and she yelled at me again and talked slowly thinking I didn't know English, "I CAN PUT THE PLANT IN THE POT FOR YOU, WE DO NOT DO DISCOUNTS."  I felt numb and had a Julia Roberts-"Pretty Woman" moment like when the  snooty saleswoman at the Beverly Hills boutique told Julia, "You're obviously at the wrong place."   I have always prided of living and working for many years in this wonderful Magnolia Park neighborhood of Burbank, but this was the first time I felt dismissed, unwanted, and questioned for my belonging in my own neighborhood.   I was shocked that she lacked the basics decorum of customer service.   There's a better delivery as she could have said, "I would love to give you a discount, but but sorry I don't have the authority to change prices, etc.."  I never felt so humiliated and was triggered to those days, when I was minority teen shopping at the mall and being followed by salespeople  as if I was going to steal something.  I guess at the end of the day, some people will judge you by how you look, dress (I was in my scrubs as a frontline worker) and perhaps the color of my skin.  I kindly said thank you for your time and left TANSY, crying inside initially, but keeping my head up. I was recommended to visit this cute shop by my next-door neighbor. I was excited to visit because I had been in quarantine for months and hadn't done too much exploring this year. I drove past this shop several times but only made and effort to stop yesterday. I have to agree with more reviewers, that there are lots of cute unique crafty items here... so many of them that I wanted to buy! While in the store, it seemed like we were being watched by the staff who kept asking us "are you guys finding everything ok?" It was a little excessive. What made me mostly cringe was a woman behind the counter who was overly aggressive. I was looking for a specific plant and showed her a photo, she said she had it in the back but was damaged from the heatwave. I asked if I could see it, she walked out and showed me the plant which wasn't the same as the photo, and I politely mentioned that this wasn't the same plant and she said "This is what we have". I said thank you and went back inside to check the rest of the store. I had a few more questions that I asked the same lady, and she was just smirking and being a smart alec during our visit. In the end, I cringed when I bought a small bag of soil from this store considering how unwelcomed my partner and I felt. I love to support small businesses (especially during the pandemic), and I know my neighbor loves this shop. The night before I was telling my really good friend about my weekend plans to visit this shop, and I wanted to take him based on their social media and online presence. It is truly a place that will make you smile, if not from feeling at peace being surrounded by the most gorgeous and perfectly placed plants throughout the interior and exterior, or by the lovely knick knacks sprinkled around the store. This is the place to come and try out your green thumb, or find the perfect gift for yourself (self care ya'll) or for someone else. If you discover you don't have a green thumb, and need some ER help for a plant baby, they even offer a service for that, imagine that! They have a wide variety of plants to choose from, and even have them labeled for pet friendly (nice touch.) If you happen to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday, Plantate Cafe is popped up, with Nadia offering her perfectly balanced cold brews, vegan horchata, and agua frescas. All a must try! I was lucky enough to meet Tansy's owner Shawna at a terrarium workshop, and she is just a lovely light, which truly shines through at this location. This is a nice store with lovely and unique items. The recent one star reviews are based on some unfortunate experiences with one employee at the store. One of the reviewers who gave one star has admittedly never even been in the store, and posted just to participate in the cancel culture that is so alive in todays world.
