I assume most couples don't have experience in wedding planning since you ideally only go through it once--hiring this team was the best move I made and worth the money. The weekly meetings ahead of time and little action items spread throughout a few months helped me handle my stress of multiple decisions in smaller parts. By the time last minute issues rolled around the week and day of (such as my mom wanting to integrate more of a formal tea ceremony within the day, the venue not having certain things they promised us), I was just able to enjoy my big day as much as I could. My 150 guests did not feel most of the hiccups and were just there to have a good time. Not only were they super sweet, but they are incredibly good at advocating for the bride and groom with all the vendors, specifically making sure they hold up to their contracts. May 2024: Tangerine Events was our day of coordination team - but they were all so much more than that. From the beginning, we hired Tangerine events early in our planning stages (October 2023). Christina helped us with initial steps and guiding us through the entire process. Even though we did our research, it was helpful to have their list of preferred vendors, some we hired and all of whom we ended up loving for our wedding! There are too many positive things to say - I'll go with top 5: 1. Christina was very detailed oriented and meticulous. She went minute by minute to go over every detail to ensure a smooth timeline. The team was always prompt with replies and questions if we had any. As part of the contract, there are scheduled meetings to go over progress and planning - which ensured that the team knew exactly what we wanted and what we envisioned. 2. Cat was our primary day-of coordinator with other coordinators (Christina, Jamie and Alinn) assisting, who were all phenomenal. Each one was so positive, ready to help us in every way to make our lives simpler. Every time I asked Cat about a detail, she would calmly say, "Yup, it's already done" or "Got it". I was able to let go of so much worry and stress knowing they had it under control. 3. From their 8+ years of experience and being from OC, the entire team really knew how to plan ahead. Closer to the wedding date, Cat became the person of contact (which was such a relief), promptly communicated with vendors, and collected all of the necessary paperwork to make sure the vendors were squared away and knew what to do. 4. Very helpful that they are multilingual - if your family is Vietnamese, they understand all of the cultural aspects and customs inherently. Thus, able to plan accordingly without explanation. (The coordinators easily spoke to my family throughout the day to address any concerns or questions). 5. One of the best parts of working with Tangerine was that they advocated for us. Christina suggested ways on optimizing the wedding flowers and decor without any extra waste/cost. Cat always found ways to make things work, like squeezing in all the little photos or videos I was initially hesitant to do. All of the coordinators helped set up our decor beautifully - they have a great eye for the aesthetics. It truly allowed us to relax knowing that we were in great hands, and everything will be taken care of. In the end, we honestly do not know what we would have done without Tangerine events on our big day - they all went above and beyond, truly exceeding our expectations. We stumbled across Tangerine Events on Yelp and it was honestly the best decision we made for our wedding day. From start to finish our coordinators Christina and Jamie were incredible. I did not have one single meltdown because of them!! I worked with Christina closely via google meetings months prior and I felt like we made such a great team. She really had my back and it brings my heart so much joy to have had the privilege to work with her. I recall waiting in the bridal suite before walking down the aisle, not having a clue about what was happening. I was anxious but I truly trusted my team. They did not text me once!! They took initiative with every detail. I cannot express how grateful I am that they somehow saw my vision without me even properly communicating it. My husband and I planned our wedding in San Diego while we were living in New York, so we needed all the help we could get!! I had a friend who recommended Tangerine Event Planning & Design and I'm so, so glad we went forward with them. Both Cat and Tina displayed utmost professionalism and went above and beyond our expectation. Their personality and friendliness is so awesome that I hope we can hang out whenever we come back to SoCal :) We were definitely on a budget but they were so willing to work with us, especially when it came down to making financial decisions. Planning in the midst of Covid was a daunting task and I knew because of it we needed a great coordinator, enter Christina. We were recommended Tangerine Events by a family member, and we don't regret taking up that recommendation. We had a stressful time with vendors and Christina handled it all like a champ! The day of I didn't hear of any hiccups because she made sure to handle it all (all while being pregnant). She was running around making sure everything was done. Even though we had only hired Christina for the day of coordination, she was there for us every step of the way until the big day. She is very personable, organized, and dependable. Tangerine Event has the best service we could ever ask for. We would give them 10 stars if we could! I have known Christina before Tangerine Events. She is the most creative and crafty friend that I've ever met. When Jonathan, my husband, and I was planning for our wedding, I went to Christina for some advise since she had her beautiful wedding not too long ago. Christina did not hesitate to help me (I didn't even know she is a wedding planner at this point). Since Jonathan and I was pretty much know what we wanted for our wedding, we didn't think we would need to hire a wedding planner. However, knowing that we will have a full schedule on our wedding day with Vietnamese tea ceremony in the morning, then church ceremony in the afternoon and finally the reception, we would need a day of wedding coordinator to keep the day go smoothly. Jonathan and I had talked to a few wedding coordinators but we were not that impressed about them. Later on, we found out that Christina is doing event planning and right after our first consultation, we were so excited to hire Tangerine Events as our day of coordinators. Besides countless emails and text messages between myself and Christina, we met up 4 times - 2 months, 1 months, 2 weeks and 1 weeks prior the wedding and every time Christina went over our timeline and check list of things need to be done. When I got distracted with many pretty things I saw on Pinterest, she would help me prioritize things need to be done first. I also thought it would be nice to have streamers exit after our church ceremony and also sparklers exit at the end of our wedding reception (on top of our full day schedule) but I was not sure if it was doable. But Christina and Matt was very good on keeping track of on our schedule and they made both of the events happened. Christina was very flexible and also very easy to communicate with. I would send her pictures of things or ask her about the details regarding the wedding and she would be very honest about her opinions which I so much appreciated. Christina also gave me a lot of great ideas on how to decorate our venue. Christina even went with me to meet up with our florist which I don't think it's a requirement on our contract. She also set up our dessert table which our guests were so much in love with. And when we had our final walk-through, Christina would remind me to discuss the details that we had previously planned to our vendors. Jonathan and I mentally prepared ourselves that if something would not go the way we want on the day of, we should be ok with it and move on. But Christina and Matt made sure nothing could go wrong on our big day. They had confirmed and sent out reminders not only to us but to all of our vendors and bridal party. Our wedding happened even more perfect than we could dream of. We were 100% stress-free on our wedding day. Our parents were so proud of us. Our guests were very happy and impressed with our wedding to the details (even our most difficult guests were pleased!). Everyone had a wonderful time! Matt and Christina were so professional and they went above and beyond for us. We had them as day of coordinators but they were more like our wedding planners. As someone who considers herself a meticulous person I was blown away by the attention to detail and care that Cat Nguyen had taken to guarantee I had the best wedding possible. I hired the company for day of coordination but Cat truly went above and beyond. She answered every question with the utmost promptness, and made sure that the week before my wedding was as stress free as possible, calling vendors and staying in touch with me to confirm every nut and bolt was fastened correctly. She even dressed up some champagne bottles for our cake eating/toast and it was a sweet and thoughtful gesture, not to mention super cute! The day of the wedding and even before that I was a bit nervous, you only have one shot to nail your wedding day and that pressure is immense! Nevertheless, she comforted my worries and told me she'd take care of everything and that her one rule was for me to have fun, which I definitely followed the day of the wedding. If you want to make sure that your needs are met on your big day in every aspect I urge you to hire this company! We had a wedding of ~300 guests and they helped make sure everything ran smoothly day of! We really did not have to worry about much because everything was taken care of. Even though we hired them as only day of coordinators, Christina was always available for questions and suggestions. She was also very prompt with her emails and texts which I appreciated tremendously! She was constantly reminding me of things to do and helped make sure I met all of the deadlines. Christina was also great with coming up with ideas on how to decorate our venue and made the most gorgeous paper flowers for our backdrops. Christina was our day-of coordinator for our California wedding of ~200 guests. I live across the country so it was hard to do planning in the 6 weeks leading up to the wedding (the time when all the details need to come together). Tina worked well with my mom who was the master planner of everything...it was a typical Vietnamese reception and Tina understood everything that needed to happen for it to run smoothly.
