    Hiring Maria Tran of Modest Magnolia was hands-down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, Maria's calm demeanor, experience, and attention to detail gave me a sense of peace I didn't even realize I needed. As a Type A bride who typically manages every detail, I knew I needed someone I could fully trust to execute our vision, and Maria did exactly that. Her team of three didn't just "coordinate" our wedding, but they held our hands every step of the way. The week before, she allowed us to drop off all our wedding items in advance, which gave us one less thing to worry about. On the big day, her team orchestrated everything from behind the scenes so smoothly that we were able to remain fully present and truly enjoy every moment. They thought of EVERYTHING! From bustling my dress and coordinating multiple outfit changes, to ensuring every single guest had a seat and that the program ran seamlessly, they never missed a beat. Trust, I created a full orchestra in detail, and they hit every note! One of the most touching details was when they made sure the bouquet pin with my late father's face made it to our florist--it was such a meaningful and emotional piece, and their care in honoring that moment meant the world to me. When I realized, just minutes before my Mother's Dedication speech, that I had left it in the dressing room, Maria's team sprinted to retrieve it without hesitation. Their responsiveness, grace under pressure, and constant behind-the-scenes vigilance ensured our day unfolded effortlessly. What truly set Maria and her team apart was how they advocated for us and worked in harmony with all other vendors. They made sure every vendor had a proper meal (something we might have overlooked in the chaos), and even created time in the schedule so we could personally present thank-you gifts to them before the night wrapped. They helped us navigate last-minute weather changes, handled unexpected guest dropouts, and still made sure we got every meal we paid for by reallocating them to other attendees. They guided us through important cultural traditions, like our Tea Ceremony and Chao Ban, cued every speech and toast with perfect timing, and even remembered to grab our giant foam board heads and signage for our grand entrance. Every possible transition and moment was handled with so much care and precision. I truly felt like the First Lady, having our wedding at The Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. And at the end of it all--when we were floating on love and adrenaline--Maria and her team had already packed every item from our Bridal Suite into our car and handed us the key. We didn't have to lift a finger. That kind of care is rare. Maria is more than a wedding coordinator--she's a wedding angel! She made what could have been a stressful day feel completely effortless. If you're lucky enough to work with her, take it from this (very detail-oriented!) bride: you're in the best hands possible. I truly consider Maria a friend for life and cannot recommend Modest Magnolia more highly! P.S. Maria's also HILARIOUS!?! It was like planning our wedding with my bestie P.P.S.     Maria and her team were beyond amazing!! They were so professional and accommodating and kept every detail of our wedding running smoothly and on time. It was such a pleasure working with them and they made sure dan and I were good and had everything we needed every step of the way without us even needing to ask. The whole day felt totally effortless thanks to them which allowed us to enjoy ourselves and spend time without guests. I can't recommend them enough!! Also she took some incredible pictures and videos which was such a nice bonus!!

    Maria is the best wedding planner. Period. She made planning our wedding so effortless and stress free. She took care of finding all our vendors and kept us in budget and was always open to changes along the way. She provided guidance on what made the most sense for us and what we needed down to the most minuscule details. I was the most stress free and chill bride because of her! The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly and all our guests commented on how well paced and organized everything was. Maria worked so well with us and it felt like we were best friends just planning an event for a whole year. I can't say enough wonderful things about her and her business. If you need a wedding planner just save yourself the time and hire her!!

    I can't get over what a fantastic job Maria and her team at Modest Magnolia did as our day-of coordinator for our wedding at Venue by 3P in Huntington Beach, CA. Even before our wedding day, she was super on top of everything - making sure we provided her all the needed guest lists, seating arrangements, and etc. She helped create and draft several wedding timelines, which was super helpful in keeping us on track the day of our wedding. She was very responsive throughout the entire planning process and was always willing to hop on a call when needed to discuss any details. She really made the entire wedding day run as smoothly as possible, from our morning tea ceremony all the way until dancing after the reception. I would 10000% recommend using Maria as your event planner or day-of coordinator. It's an expense that should not be spared, as it allowed a Type A bride like myself really enjoy my wedding day! Maria, I really, really hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future!! Thank you for all that you did to make our special day EPIC - you're the best!!

    It took us a bit of time to sit down and write this review because we wanted to do justice to just how incredible our experience was with Maria. From the very beginning, Maria went above and beyond to turn our vision into reality, and along the way she became more than just a planner--she became a friend. Simply put, Maria made our wedding day magical and memorable in ways we didn't even imagine. Maria took the time to truly understand and incorporate our ideas, making sure every detail was just right. Her support and creativity were evident in every aspect of the wedding. She was especially wonderful with my family, even going so far as to help my mom bandage her feet when her heels became too much to handle. That's dedication! One of the things we loved most were the little inside jokes that made the planning process fun and memorable--like the infamous "french fry money" and the ever-popular "sorry Ray" moments. These small yet personal jokes made the whole experience feel lighthearted and uniquely ours. On our wedding day, Maria worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything as seamless as possible. She took care of all the little details so we could relax and fully enjoy our special day. Thanks to her, we were able to focus on creating beautiful memories with our friends and family, knowing that everything was in expert hands. If you're looking for a wedding planner who is not only professional but also kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your day perfect, Maria is your go-to.     Where do i begin!!? You know how some brides are so relieved their wedding is over? I was so sad the wedding, the research, and planning with Maria was over! I would do it all over again if i could with her. We got married on November 2022 and had the ultimate dream wedding that I dare not could have imagined without Maria and her team at MM. If you are questioning if you need a wedding planner and/or day of coordi you better do it! Having lots of friends&family willing to help is NOT the same. I knew from the get go that i do not want to put any of my friends or family scrambling around leading up to and on the wedding day helping set up stuff and what not. I found her on Instagram while scrolling through wedding pictures from various vendors just wondering if i can have a wedding like these IG pics. It looked so grand, picturesque, something out of a magazine. There was NO way i would be able to pull something off like this!? I noticed @modestmagnolia was tagged in all the pictures that i liked so i knew i had to contact her. From our first interaction to the very end, Maria knows what she's doing! So knowledgeable, confident in her work, and Graceful with a capital G! Lol Everyone says how wedding planning is so stressful but honestly, there were so many down time moments for me where i kept asking Maria if i should be doing/planning anything?! But she already had it all figured out and planned. The ultimate test of stress is on the actual wedding day. I thought i was going to be all anxious, impatient, nervous, get all hot and red trying to figure stuff out while trying to act like everything is perfect in front of guests. lmao but everything WAS perfect and I was relaxed on the day of, i even surprise myself at times! There were even times when we had down time to chill and rest ( what!?) She truly loves what she does and does it well. Some notable moments... I was so thankful to know that she was coming up from OC to SGV early morning to bring our flowers and help assist with the tea ceremony. I couldn't have even imagine how the tea ceremony would've been if it wasn't for her cuz i forgot to think of that detail nor in our contract did it state she will help with the early morning tea ceremony. Truly went above and beyond. Welcome table- i had no clue on how this was going to be setup. I just gave her some picture frames and guest book and she took charge. Little things like making sure we have food and that we eat, bringing us our desserts and sugarcane drinks so we don't have to get it, having a team with her to help assist the wedding party, fixing my bustle for the 100x time cuz it ended up tearing from all the fun, and packing all our stuff and extra food tucked away back in our room at the end of the night, and so much more! Oh, and so many people including my mom kept saying how great Maria was, she knows what shes doing, she looks so calm and graceful but working Ittt! Seriously, don't hesitate to hire Modest Magnolia. Maria is WORTH IT and then some.

    Maria made our dream wedding come true! Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for her professionalism, dedication, and kindness over the past one-and-a-half years as she planned our beautiful wedding. We started working with Maria in March of 2022 to plan our wedding for June of 2023. We opted for the full service package, and it was by far the best investment we made for our wedding. My wife and I had very busy schedules, so being able to schedule meetings any time of the day and text her any time we needed was so helpful. Maria was always available for us and was so patient with us throughout the entire process. Between us and our large Vietnamese families, there were a good number of requirements for our wedding: we needed a Dam Hoi (traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony), a ceremony at a Catholic church, a reception venue in Orange County which could accommodate up to 300 guests, and Vietnamese food catered at the wedding. Given these requirements and our budget, she was able to recommend different wedding venues and we fell in love with the Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach. We had our Dam Hoi two months before the wedding, and Maria made it such a wonderful experience for us and our families. The florals, signs, and decorations were beautiful. She was able to have her friends at Encor studio do the photography and videography, and their photos and highlight video turned out excellent! All our relatives were so impressed with our Dam Hoi, and they could all tell it was professionally planned. One of Maria's greatest strengths as a wedding planner are her relationships with excellent local vendors. We chose to work with the photographer, videographer, caterer, florist, DJ/MC, bakery, rental company, and many other vendors who she recommended, and they were all fantastic. Maria had worked extensively with them before, so there was no need for us to directly reach out to or vet each vendor. Since we were so busy, we did not have time to look at the florals, taste test the cake, or looks at the linens and rentals. Maria did everything for us, and it turned out perfect. She literally saved us many weeks of work. We chose to cater with a company called Furiwa, and she knew the menu like the back of her hand and was able to make us excellent recommendations on the appetizers and food to serve. She also worked extensively with the Pasea Hotel in the past, so she was able to secure the venue for us a year and a half before the wedding date, and make useful recommendations regarding the menu and services. In addition, she was able to save us thousands of dollars with referral discounts and negotiating directly with the hotel and our vendors, all of whom she knew personally. While many other married couples we know were so stressed and busy the week before their wedding to get last minute things done, we were the exact opposite. The hardest part of wedding planning for us was creating the guest list and seating chart. After we were done with that, Maria took care of everything else in the background. When the wedding day came, everything was absolutely perfect down to the last detail thanks to Maria and her team. She was able to keep everything exactly on schedule throughout the day, and her assistants would guided us from place to place at the right time. We felt so relaxed on our special day and were really able to enjoy our time and soak in the wonderful memories. We and all our guests were so impressed with the wedding design and ballroom decorations. The centerpieces, sweetheart table, floral arrangements, and the lighting were so beautiful. All our guests told us that they had never seen such a beautiful wedding ballroom. All our guests could tell that we had an excellent wedding planner because everything was so punctual and everything ran so smoothly. Our guest complimented every aspect of our wedding, from appetizer selection, to the music selection, to the MC, to the florals - every vendor that Maria recommended was amazing. There were so many little details that Maria took care of which made the day so seamless and enjoyable. For example, she had a beautiful memorial for my late father at both the church and also at the reception. Some of our guests were lactose intolerant, so she included a cute sign for us with lactaid tablets for our guests. When we came back to our honeymoon suite at the end of the night, she had our wedding meals boxed up for us, a piece of wedding cake, and engagement photos from our greeting table waiting for us in the room. Every little detail was perfect. If you and your fiancé are looking for a wedding planner and designer in Southern California, we would highly recommend you reach out to Maria at Modest Magnolia. If you are considering a large-scale Vietnamese-style wedding with beautiful design, close attention to detail, and top-notch professionalism, then look no further because you will not find anyone better than Maria.

    Maria is the BEST! Seriously. She came highly recommended by several of our friends who also used her for their wedding and we are so thankful for her. When it comes to the big day, her team is totally on point! I mean seriously they are so well organized, so professional, and they have the timing and coordination down to a tee. On our wedding day, she was with us from the early morning to the strike of the midnight and she was just always so calm and collected. Nothing frazzled her and she was always in control and in the zone. It really takes a special person to be able to handle the absolute madness of planning a wedding while at the same time being able to keep you calm as well. Maria is also really great at keeping you organized and on a schedule which makes the whole wedding planning process as stress-free as possible. She provides you with an itemized checklist of everything you need to do before the wedding. She gives you a master timeline of the day down to the minute. She coordinates with all of your vendors to make sure they have their stuff together. She is mindful of your budget. She also helps with all the little things you don't necessarily think of like seating, signage, menus, etc. In short, she knows how to EXECUTE a game plan! She is also has a great designer! She works with the florist to make sure the flowers and colors match the vision. She assists the production team with lighting and draping. Her team turned a boring and dull hotel ballroom into a totally gorgeous and elegant dream state. We received so many compliments how beautiful our wedding was (see pics). We couldn't have been happier with how our wedding turned out! Also, if you will be having a wedding with some traditional Vietnamese elements, you'll really want want to consider Maria. In addition to the planning of the ceremony and reception, she is experienced with tea ceremonies and bilingual church ceremonies. Seriously, her ability to speak Vietnamese is so clutch especially when you have older Vietnamese guests who don't speak a lick of English. TLDR: Maria knows what's she's doing and she will make sure you have the most amazing wedding!

    I definitely recommend working with Modest Magnolia, Maria and her assitants were very professional, patient and attentative. She went above and beyond by being very responsive via text, call and email. If I can give her 500 stars I would. I commend her for all her patience with all our guests and family. And that is not an easy task. My wife and I had an amazing wedding and everything that happened that day was meant to happen and we're still living in cloud 9. I recommend Modest Magnolia for your wedding planning and day of coordination. It is a must to have a successful and smooth wedding.

    Maria Maria Maria!!! We booked Modest Magnolia when they were still Top Event Planner back in 2018 and I'm so happy to have followed Maria and the team to their new Modest Magnolia venture!! :) From the start, Maria was responsive, helpful, and always the kindest!! Like many other brides, we had to reschedule and replan multiple times due to COVID, and Maria was so helpful and understanding every step of the way! I still remember she was one of the only vendors to text me on our would-be 2020 date wishing us well wishes !! One of the reasons we went with Modest Magnolia is because they have a ton of experience with Asian weddings, specifically Vietnamese weddings! So if you're a Viet bride like myself, Maria/MM is the way to go!!! Maria understands and has so much experience with Viet cultural traditions, family expectations, wedding timelines, etc...! You definitely want someone who is familiar with Asian weddings! Also, Maria was always ready to go with vendor suggestions. I always CC'ed her on vendor correspondence and it felt like she was my respected manager, so other vendors would always be kind as well! Maria is SUPER detail oriented, always on top of her game, and thinks of everything! I can write pages and pages on how great Maria is but I'll list out a few examples! - For our reception welcome area, we had boxes with hand sanitizers/face masks for our guests, and Maria went above and beyond by finding a bookshelf at our venue to display the boxes! We were just going to have them out on the table but Maria made it so aesthetic. :P - During our ceremony, we did a Vietnamese tea ceremony and Maria took care of the logistics to brew hot tea at the perfect time for the ceremony. She was also the one to adjust my dress every time it needed adjusting. - Maria attended our rehearsal and meetings with our venue coordinator and basically handled it all!! During the meetings, she would always have the up-to-date papers printed of our bridal party lineup, table set up, etc.. We had a big bridal party and she perfectly relayed all of the instructions for walking down the aisle! Aaand just some more bullet points of things Maria did for us: - Brought wedding sparklers for photos (such a nice surprise!) - Provided templates and worksheets for everything we needed e.g. seating charts, table layouts, etc.. - Gave us instructions for toasting and cutting cake (so simple but I really appreciated every instruction bc I didn't know what to do lol!) - Had assistants to help out - Led the table greetings, collected the cards, and neatly placed them in the safe in our room afterwards - Packed us to-go boxes of food and dessert and left them in our room at the end of the night - Caught duplicates in our seating chart - Immediately sent me photos/videos she took on her iPhone that were perfectly chronologically in order and recaptured the day!! I appreciated this a lot! She took some of the best photos/vids and made sure to capture each little moment! At the end of the wedding day, my partner and I literally said to each other "what the heck we should be paying Maria so much more, she did so much for us!!" We did the "month of" package but as you can see, Maria went above and beyond throughout the entire wedding journey and not just the month of! Wedding planners are really doing the most and deserve so much!!! I really felt so carefree, confident, and secure having Maria by my side the entire wedding journey. On the day itself, I didn't have to think about anything at all and basically Maria just told us what to do and where to go next. And I feel like that's the way it should be! We truly got to enjoy our day, stress free. I really don't know how you do it all, Maria! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all that you do and for all that you did for our wedding journey. My family and friends all praised Maria as well - a perfect testament to her craft! My only regret is not getting a proper photo together haha so I will end this review here with a behind the scenes photo of Maria giving us instructions during our cake cutting.

    Maria and her team created my dream wedding, It was such a short preparation. One month to prepare. I had envisioned my wedding as simple, all white, elegant and intimate, and they made it to reality. Maria to begin with is so joyful to talk to, she listens and she makes sure that your wishes for your special day is going to happen. She was very helpful. She prepared everything from make up artist, photographers, videographers, venue and small things that I wouldn't even think I can do if it was me planning my wedding. Everything on my wedding is what exactly I envisioned. She even made sure that my frenchies will be a highlight of the wedding. No words can express how grateful I am and thankful I went with her. I was really spoiled on my wedding day. As of what my friend said "when she gets marry, she wants to have a wedding like mine" Also my wedding up to this date is being talked about how beautiful it is.. thank you Maria and your wonderful team! See you in my baby shower (hopefully soon!) I will only have one planner for our entire life and occasions to be celebrted.. Only Maria's team :) I love you all.     Like many couples, we had to postpone our wedding this past year due to COVID. After much waiting, re-planning and stress, we were finally able to have our wedding this past May 2021 and could not have done it without Maria and Tiffany's help. We love you both!!! We had them help us with coordinating everything on the day of our wedding and they put together a detailed timeline of events for us to follow since we had plenty of things to do that day (tea ceremony in the morning, church at noon, photos in the afternoon, and reception in the evening). As we had to re-plan throughout the year with COVID, Maria provided a lot of support and encouragement to us and was easy to communicate with whenever we had a question or concern. On our wedding day, they were both so helpful in keeping our day organized but also making sure that our entire bridal party was taken care of. They would consistently take care of things before we've even thought of it. Tiffany was awesome at fixing the girl's hairs and dresses for photos and Maria was so thoughtful in making sure we were able to eat during downtime and that we stopped by the photo booth before the end of the night. They really took away a lot of the stress that day and we felt confident that everything would be taken care of in their hands. We would highly recommend both of them to coordinate any of our friends and family's wedding. Besides being great at their jobs, they're both very personable and easy to talk to and we felt like we've gained two new friends after our wedding was over :) Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of the wedding season as you continue to navigate the COVID pandemic!     Maria and her team (Abby and Bre) are amazing! We were so happy to have booked them as our day of coordinator team - everything went so smoothly and stress-free for our wedding day at Rancho Las Lomas. They handled everything day of and we never had to worry about a thing. We felt like super stars being pampered with water, keeping us on track for our timeline, and we were able to fully enjoy our wedding and have fun! Maria also fielded alot of our questions during the planning process, printed our seating map poster, and jumped on whenever we needed her. I would definitely recommend Modest Magnolia to anyone. Looking back, I can see that there's no way I could have done all this by myself and I'm so happy that we had Maria and her team to make our dream wedding so beautifully orchestrated

We followed up to see what wedding planning packages she had and safe to say this was the best decision made. Eliza, Tammy + Team provided the full service for our wedding. We hired them for planning, design, coordination, rentals, and florals and it made life so much easier. I had the best experience with Eliza and team with our weekly meetings for a few months to align on all the details. She understand and appreciated our mixed cultural background and how we wanted to incorporate elements of this for a Persian and Vietnamese wedding. I have always heard wedding planning to be stressful but safe to say my experience was the best and the day of the wedding went beautifully. Nothing ever goes to plan and I'm really happy Eliza and her team are experienced enough to adjust to last minutes changes such as guest no shows, etc. She captured our vision perfectly and I'm already thinking of future events I would plan with Bel Events again!

    Horrible experience, stay away!…read more This is a review for Eliza at BEL Events for her wedding planning services. We met Eliza at our venue 8 month before our wedding date. During the first session she presented herself well, and she talked and bragged a lot about her 18 yrs of experience in event planning and stories about how she handles wedding situations. So, we thought she is the right event planner for us and signed a contract. After signing the contract and making the payment, she was very hard to find and we did not see the expected action from her side, and every time we followed up, her response was: "don't worry I will manage everything before the wedding day". We were asking for the basics of planning such as timeline, vendor recommendations (a few to choose from) and communications (which was part of the contract) but not no action except a quote of her own rental service. We were getting closer to the wedding date and her lack of action made us so worried and very frustrated. Eventually we had to get involved and did almost 90% of the work ourselves. She was very hard to find but even when we could talk to her, she would create more unnecessary problems to an extant that my wife had panic attacks after a few meetings we had with her. 2 month before our wedding she caused so much anxiety and frustration that we decided to end our contract with her and find another planner. Thankfully, our new planner was amazing and our Wedding planning went very smooth after that, and the event was as wonderful as we could imagine! With way lower cost than what Eliza had proposed! After I requested to cancel the contract she disappeared and never responded to our emails, which is very unprofessional. Here is a list of a few issues from our experience of working with here: 1- Accessibility: every time we had a question or needed to talk to her, it was taking several days until she gets back to us. With irrelevant excuses, like she would show me her busy google calendar! 2- Push to use her own services as vendors: Per her contract she had to suggest different vendors so we can choose. But since she has rental and flower services, she was arguing so much to stop us from even looking at other options! She charges unnecessarily expensive! By doing a little research, we found our vendors and saved at least 50% with same or better quality! 3- Nonsense arguments and rude attitude: In many occasions she was just insisting on holding the event the way SHE wants, without paying attention to our request or desire. Every time we requested something, her answer was: "I don't want MY event to be that way or I don't want MY guests to be that way"!!! With a condescending attitude emphasizing that "I have 18 yrs of experience and I know what to do"!!! Any simple request would become a long story and unnecessary argument. In one occasion my wife requested that guests throw flower petals while walking out of aisle, and she immediately said: "No!, you can't do that, I don't want my cleaning crew spend time on cleaning the petals"!!!! In another occasion Eliza was insisting on only using her recommended valet service (which was quoting more than double the price of the service we eventually used) and on top of it she was forcing us to rent extra parking lot out of venue and pay extra for shuttle service!!!! While the venue had enough capacity! And when I respectfully said: I am confident that the venue has enough capacity for parking, she got very angry and said: "in that case tell all your guests to use UBER and they can't drive their own car"!!! It was a nightmare working with BEL Events and I don't recommend her service due to lack of professionalism and decency in her business.

Over the next two years of planning, Abby and her team brought our ideas to life and helped to make our dream wedding a reality. Design: We told Abby we wanted an "East Meets West" theme that blended our cultures in a way that felt modern and elegant, a tough balance that could've easily come off as cheesy in if executed poorly. But Abby nailed it of course, her design sense is unreal. From color palettes and floral choices to the way she tied together modern décor with cultural elements, everything was cohesive and elevated. She has an incredible eye for detail and always found creative, out-of-the-box ways to make our ideas work. The end result was a wedding that felt truly felt like us! Communication: Throughout the entire process, Abby and her team were consistently on top of communication. She kept us updated between meetings, sent friendly reminders, and made sure we were always aligned on next steps. It's easy for things to slip through the cracks when planning something this big, but Abby kept everything organized and stress-free. We never once felt out of the loop, she was always calm, professional, and genuinely fun to talk to. Vendor Management: Abby's vendor management skills are next level. She has deep connections and knows everyone in the wedding world. When we needed vendors for flowers, desserts, or décor, she already had a curated list of the best options with pros and cons ready for us. Some of our vendors were booked more than a year in advance, but Abby and her team were always on top of follow-ups, contracts, and logistics. By the time the big day arrived, every vendor was perfectly coordinated. It really felt like we had assembled the Avengers of wedding vendors! Working Style: We can't say enough about how enjoyable it was to work with Abby and her team. They're so friendly, positive, and genuinely care about their couples. You can tell they love what they do and that they actually enjoy working together - it felt like they were more of friends than coworkers. Whenever unexpected hiccups came up (and they always do in wedding planning), Abby handled them with grace and a sense of humor. She's done hundreds of weddings, so she always had the experience to guide us to make informed decisions. It was so fun working with the entire team and it made the stressful process of wedding planning feel less stressful. Execution: This is where Abby and her team truly shine. Planning is one thing, but executing flawlessly is another and they did it all seamlessly. From coordinating vendors to keeping our timeline on track, they were everywhere and nowhere all at once, putting out fires behind the scenes before we even knew they existed. The day flowed perfectly. At the end of the night, we were blown away to see how they had already packed up all our belongings, made sure our ride was ready, and tied up every little loose end without us lifting a finger. That level of thoughtfulness really showed how much they care. Budget & Financial Management: The truth is weddings are expensive, and it's easy for costs to spiral if you're not careful. Abby was phenomenal at keeping everything organized and transparent. She tracked every expense, set reminders for upcoming milestone payments for vendors, and even handled tipping for all our vendors so we didn't have to stress about it on the big day. What really stood out was her honesty and foresight -- anytime a decision could push us beyond our budget, she proactively flagged it and walked us through the financial trade-offs before we committed. Thanks to her meticulous tracking and planning, there were zero surprises at the end. Everything was clearly outlined and accounted for, which gave us complete peace of mind. In short, Abby and her team are the best in the business. They bring design expertise, organization, and heart to every step of the process. While there, we stumbled into the ball room where we stood in awe at what was at the time, one of the most beautiful wedding designs I had ever seen. My mother and I promptly asked the first person we saw who was designing this wedding and got a card for a "Natalie Good". I pocketed the card and thought- one day! Fast forward 5 years I had met Matt(my now husband) and we were moving into together. I was cleaning my room at my parents house and came across Natalie's card and put it in my purse. 3 months later, Matt proposed on a Saturday and the following Monday I called Natalie and booked her. First and foremost, Natalie is an angel on this planet. Wedding planning is so stressful and I never had to worry about a single thing, she went above and beyond to make sure I was not stressed and happy. She is more than just our wedding planner and over the 3 years we planned my wedding (thanks covid...), she became my friend and someone who I adore Second, when going down this road, I think trusting your planner/wedding team is extremely important to make sure the process is seamless and smooth. I can tell you that without a doubt, I trust Natalie and her team implicitly! I trusted them so much that I let them run free on the design for my wedding and I could not have been happier! Everything was perfect and so gorgeous- from the table design to the flowers, everything was flawless and it was so amazing to watch her vision come to life. It's been 3 months and I am still getting calls and compliments from all of our guests and even friends of guests who weren't there but saw pictures. She is insanely talented and has an unbelievable list of vendors that are just as talented. We even had a silent disco at our wedding and it was a hit! Third, her team is awesome. The women who helped me specifically- Ellie, Kennedy, and Maddy- where next level professional and so helpful. There were nights where I would be up at midnight and text Ellie and she would always answer and talk me down. Kennedy and Maddy were running around on wedding day making sure I was hydrated and fed and happy. Everything about A Good Affair is top notch and I could not be more grateful or fortunate to have had them design, plan and make our dream wedding a reality. What I can say is, they don't really go straight to the point and communicate back n forth in email when you had requested 3 times to call you to talk it out. I mean, if off the bat you're having a hard time conveying your plans, pricing with me then its not worth my time. They reply back quick, which I appreciate but them going around in circles is annoying. Also, if you're looking for budget, this is NOT the place for budget. She knew my budget, yet continued to ask questions through email. Finally, she gives me the quote of $10-$15k for a wedding next year (saying pricing will go up next year) and if its something i am still interested in. Wow, knowing where my budget is, which was less than $3k, and you know your asking is triple that, is so unprofessional. This is not accommodating to new clients or at all helpful. If you plan to have a wedding with a $10-$15k budget in mind then this might be your type of vendor but if you're asking for really minimal details for $3k, and they don't just say "sorry our services are over your budget" then they don't care or respect your needs. These days, customer service should be catered to what you can provide for the client. If you can't make it work, then just simply let the client know. Do not waste their time with back n forth email. Some of us don't understand what you're saying in email and a clearer communication shows you care enough to explain it.

Although…read moreHeather communicated very well, there were a couple of incidents that I found slightly unprofessional: 1. I signed a contract with one of her staff as my wedding planner. Unfortunately, from my understanding, there were unexpected changes in the company, so Heather had to take over. However, Heather responded that she would make an exception for me and not charge me an additional $1000 for this change. With all due respect, I should not be financially penalized for changes that an owner experiences; especially since I already signed the contract that I financially agreed to. 2. I encountered a lot of life changes that disrupted my ability to move forward with a wedding that my brothers were supposed to be in. For instance, I had a depressed, suicidal brother, I had another brother leave for Japan for the Marines, and I had an uncle pass away. All vendors except for Heather were so kind to fully refund my deposits due to the situation. Unfortunately, Heather responded that she was still a businesswoman and was financially hurting, so she was in no place to offer a full refund. I basically paid Heather almost $500 to establish a simple contract. I already had all the vendors in place and organized, so this deposit was for nothing. Heather should not be held responsible for unexpected circumstances, but this wedding meant a lot to me. As a business owner, you should be able to compromise with your clients based on their situation. I could have easily used that deposit to help my family for the funeral. I find this situation absurd because I never wanted a wedding planner to begin with. Our wedding list was only 32 guests, but my fiancé insisted that we hire a planner because he did not want me to stress out. I admire him for caring, but this wedding was going to be a private and intimate event with very little management. I blame myself for hiring a wedding planner when I did not need one. It is unfortunate that Heather was thinking like a businesswoman and not a human being with empathy. Nonetheless, please make sure to ask about the refund policy for emergencies such as death, health, etc. Two stars are for her communication, but I can only evaluate Heather based on my experience with her before the wedding date. Therefore, I am unable to provide feedback for her day service since my wedding never happened. Has it ever occurred to you, Heather, that you had not heard from me in a year because I was busy dealing with other important things like planning a funeral? My wedding was the last thing on my mind. Also, I was not complaining about the charge that never happened, I am complaining about your response to your changes. There was no need to comment on that you are more expensive and won't be charging me. We could have proceeded forward with whatever it was we were doing. You contacted ONE venue and that is because they had YOU sign a contract with them. FYI, my pre-engagement photos were scheduled with the photographer I hired for my wedding and I was still refunded the full amount. This vendor did not work for free either and still managed to prioritize customer service over money. You are a business owner and have the liberty to do as you please, but you must have needed the money more than I did, so I hope my contributions helped your business. Nonetheless, well done on your communication. If you have a family member with a life-threatening illness or you have a medical condition that may require potential hospitalization, please do not hire Heather as your wedding planner as she will not refund you the deposit because not make exceptions for your situation simply because she does not "work for free." I could tell right from the first 5 minutes of talking to her that I wanted to work with her. She is kind, genuine, organized, transparent, helpful, creative, and so many other wonderful things. I am very much a Type A person and was nervous I wouldn't get exactly what I wanted, but I got everything and more! She even has this incredible platform she uses, Aisle Planner, and I was obsessed. If you like organization, it'll be your best friend during this process. Everyone kept telling me that planning a wedding was going to be a really stressful time, but to be completely honest, the only thing I was stressed about the entire time was our welcome dinner (which was the only event we didn't hire Heather for). For folks who don't know a day of coordinator is a must and don't just show up on the day of the wedding. They get to know you, your details, plan a timeline and so much more. Then on the day of the wedding they relieve you of all the duties. Brittany was exceptional. She proactively took care of everything. Our decor was beautiful and she placed everything where we asked. She took care of the bride and groom and the wedding party throughout the night and then at the end of the night had everything packed up and sent with us in the limo or set aside to pick up the next day. We got married in Casa Romantica in San Clemente. However, we were living far away in San Jose in the year building up to the wedding. We also had a baby and were enduring the covid pandemic throughout the wedding planning year. Despite all this, Katherine made everything a breeze. Most of the "work" we had to do was make multiple-choice type decisions where she presented us with options (like: picking dj, food, flowers, decor, cake, etc). For fuzzier things like vows and ceremony script, she gave us lots of advice and guidance. Since we were remote, we could only afford a couple trips to arrange wedding details in person. Katherine greatly accommodated our special situation: for a couple weekend visits, she packed our schedule to be super productive and get most in-person things done at once. On the techie side, she is extremely organized with spreadsheets for timelines, guest management, budgets, etc. She was very responsive and focused in email threads. She also easily handled any task involving invites online, wedding websites, registry etc. As I work in the tech industry, I feel like Katherine is like the kind of product manager you dream of working with. On the personal side, Katherine is very low-key, never exerted her influence or opinion, and always had a cheerful attitude. She would mostly listen to us try to reason decisions out, and offer any insights or details we might not have thought of. We really felt like we owned the decision-making process and made the wedding to our own taste. We, with our families, are now scrolling through wedding photos with joy. I have heard both sets of parents marvel at how beautiful AND well-organized our ceremony and reception were. That is all thanks to Katherine!

If it's within your budget to hire a professional wedding planner, I absolutely recommend you do it. For me, I was willing to cut our budget elsewhere to afford a wedding planner because I don't enjoy planning parties and had no interest trying to DIY plan one of the most important events of my life. Looking back now, hiring Mele Amore was the best decision we made. I had a family emergency come up the week of my wedding - my dad was hospitalized days before the wedding and wasn't able to attend. It was a scary and stressful time and I hope no other bride ever has to experience anything like that, but it's in moments like these where having a professional planner proves to be invaluable. It was such a relief to know that Nicole had all the wedding details handled so I could just focus on my family situation and on mentally preparing myself for the wedding day despite the sadness I felt. My dad obviously had a lot of roles in the wedding, but we were able to scramble to make alterations, which I thank my wonderful family and Nicole for stepping up and helping with. Nicole made all the necessary adjustments to the schedule and notified all of our vendors of the situation, so everyone was sensitive, kind, and comforting to me on the wedding day which really helped me feel better. It turned out to still be a beautiful and joyful day despite the circumstances and I am able to look back on my wedding day fondly - for that I will forever be grateful to Nicole and Mele Amore! Nicole was able to deliver the wedding we wanted within our discussed budget and I am still stunned to this day on how beautiful our florals and decor looked with the budget we had! The owner, Michelle, handles the designs and totally nailed the look we were going for: cozy, romantic, and luxe without being over-the-top or gaudy. I had so much fun going through mood boards and the mock-up with Nicole, but the actual reception design day of completely exceeded our expectations. On the wedding day, we had Nicole plus two assistants with us the entire time. They were all so great at keeping everything on schedule, getting people to where they needed to be, and stopping family members from mobbing us to take a million phone photos. Despite the stress leading up to the wedding, the actual wedding day itself went really smoothly and was pretty stress-free. If there were any issues on our wedding day my husband and I don't know about them, which is how it should be! Thank you so much to Nicole, Michelle, and the Mele Amore team for giving us the wedding of our dreams!
