Wow! Where even to begin with this! Wedding planning and coordination was a vendor we were least looking forward to booking. How can you tell the difference between coordinators/planners when the product they produce is so unique and individualized per wedding? But, my partner and I decided we wanted a "rinse and repeat" type of wedding as much as possible to prevent reinventing the wheel. We decided we wanted to go with a "preferred vendor" at our venue, the Ebell Long Beach, to make it as easy for us as process in planning. We spoke to a couple preferred vendors with Ebell LB, but we loved Sugar Plum the best! We loved the special package they designed at Ebell LB. Being an educator at a school, I wanted a vendor who would work with us when I was ready - when school was not in session. Abby and her team began working with us 5 months before our wedding date - the earliest any preferred vendor was willing to work with us! At the 5-month mark, Abby got to work and had us start collecting our contracts from our signed vendors. She set us up on Google Drive, making the organizing of our important files super easy. We then booked our first out of three meeting with her and Amanda, her assistant, to make sure our plans started forming easily. Before scheduling our first meeting (about 3 months before the big day), Abby had us answer all the important questions we needed time to think about: our first dance song, recessional song, bridal party grand entrance song, parent dance songs, how many kids are anticipated to be in attendance, whether our invites had been sent out yet, and many many design questions. Once done, we scheduled our meeting via Zoom (being LA County residents, we wanted to prevent a drive to OC if we didn't need to!). And wow, that meeting was thorough. My parents were able to join in in our first session. By the end of the session, my dad said, "Wow, is she thorough. She thought of everything already." Abby was able to answer my questions about how to get inspo pictures to life, but most important, coaching and guiding me to make me feel I could front the work without any confidence in being a "crafty" or Pinterest-y girl. She told me timelines and followed up with us on a "homework" doc to make sure we met timelines swifty. Abby was available to exchange quick emails, swiftly responding within 24 hours of our inquiry. Again, she made us feel confident we could do this big wedding, having no confidence we could do this from the start. She jumped on scheduling us in for a Ebell LB food tasting. She double tagged that session and completed our final walk-through meeting there for us so we didn't have to drive to Long Beach twice. Lastly, we held our third final meeting through Zoom about a month before our wedding day to make sure our t's were crossed and I's were dotted. We finished up our Homework document, where Abby and Amanda diligently followed up in our doc with questions or answers they received from our vendors on our behalf. Amanda sent us tailored day-of timelines: a detailed timeline for vendors, timelines for the bridesmaids, timelines for the groomsmen, and timelines for family members. It was so helpful to send it digitally to my bridal party, while also being able to print a paper copy for those who prefer paper and throw in the bridal party's gifts :) On the big day, wow, Abby, Amanda, and Kat were on it! First off, Abby texted my maid of honor, my sister (yay for outsourcing and diverting questions away from the bride!!). She texted a checklist to make sure we didn't miss anything. And we diverted a big boo-boo: I left my handwritten letter to my fiancé on our dining room table! A bridesmaid had cardstock on hand and we made an impromptu letter. Crisis averted! Our timeline flowed with great ease, having good pockets of space to feel like we weren't rushed or late at any point of the day. Abby always breezed toward me with ease, making me feel relaxed on a day I didn't get great sleep and had many emotions on everything a big bridal day can do to a bride! The only "boo-boo" was my bustle - despite Abby encouraging my seamstress a special type of bustle she preferred, my seamstress made a complicated, tiny bustle for a grand A-line train dress I had. Abby had Amanda and Kat and my MOH all try to find the bustles under my dress for a good 10 minutes. We came up shy of finding 3 out of 4 buttons - but at least they were able to find what they could. Despite this slight delay, everything else went off without a hitch! Abby answered my family member's nagging questions ("can you get Gram some sandals, her feet are hurting!" or "Abby, where are the cookies" or "Abby, can you find where you put the veil?"). We found Sugar Plum & co on Instagram and instantly fell in love with their aesthetic. After our initial consultation, we decided to hire them for design services and as our "day of" coordinator. From the start, Krammer and Amanda were very friendly, detail oriented, and extremely organized. While creating our mood board, Krammer and Amanda diligently took notes and made edits to match our vision. This was very helpful and gave me a more clear picture of what I wanted our ceremony/reception to look like. At our mock meeting, we were shown so many beautiful options for florals and table decor that I was a little overwhelmed at first. But Krammer's process of narrowing down each item was so helpful. At the end of the mock meeting, I was excited to see each of the details we had selected on the tables at our wedding! These fairies set the wedding standard for getting shit done, being hella responsive and most of all, calming a crazy ass bride down during an unprecedented pandemic, all with class! I first hired Abby back in 2019 when I was planning my wedding for May of 2020 in ARIZONA (what the hell was I thinking). I was going for a desert chic vibe and I'm SO glad that didn't pan out..for a handful reasons. At the time, we ended up postponing our desert wedding to September 2020 (that was when I was an idiot and thought COVID would disappear in 2 months.) Since COVID didn't disappear overnight and Arizona was becoming increasingly unsafe, we decided to move our wedding BACK to California. So Abby and her team had to email all my Arizona vendors, try to get our money back (which miracle, she did!) and also find new vendors in Long Beach for our September 2021 wedding. Lo and behold, AND THEN, we decided to just cancel the wedding altogether and elope (I know, I hate me too lol). Again, thank you Abby and her team for dealing with all of our vendors and getting most of our money back! So fast forward, Abby now only had a few months to plan an elopement that we decided on a whim. To add the cherry on top, I wanted to elope in a random ass place in central california called Cambria - which neither of us have ever been. From my make up artist, florist, photographer, floor vendor, linen rental, dessert & wedding cake, DJ, photographer/videographer, and photo booth - These vendors were amazing to work with and of course, a testament of the types of weddings SPC manages. Let me first and FOREMOST say that although I don't consider myself to be a difficult bride to work with, my mother, was a different story and God bless her for it, because all she wanted was the best for us :). Not only did SPC meet every expectation, but they also met my MOTHER'S, and if you personally know my mother, that is a difficult task at hand. During the morning of the wedding, I received texts from Abby and Nancy to inform me of the final details. They also forwarded this to family and bridal party in order for them to remain informed of what was to come that day. Nancy was responsive whenever I had any questions. KRAMMER was an absolute GEM. If it wasn't for Abby, Krammer, later Nancy, our wedding probably wouldn't have happened, or would've been a huge mess. But because of them our wedding was perfect. From recommending vendors, to dealing with the venue, to getting information from vendors, to mapping out wedding, to managing us, to managing wedding day. They ran the show perfectly. And I'm sure we were annoying because we were always late on the homework they gave us, but they made it work nonetheless lol. If you look at the price of a wedding plannerbl and say, "nah I don't need one", or "nah my sister/aunt/cousin can be my wedding planner" please listen to me I've been to the many weddings where that was the case and so many things went wrong. If there was one thing I would do differently while planning my wedding, it would be hiring Abby and her team IMMEDIATELY after I got engaged! Abby is the most AMAZING wedding coordinator EVER. I could not have asked for anyone more detailed, attentive, accommodating, efficient, and as professional as Abby from Abby Lee Events. From day 1, Abby kept tight communication with me through email and was always quick to respond. If I had any questions on vendors or style, she would do the research for me and would then list out the best possible options. I never felt lost or overwhelmed with her...and I never felt like any question or request was too small or too big to ask. She had a timeline for me to follow so that I was always on top of the planning. But at the end of the day, I really didn't feel like I had to check anything off that timeline, because she was on top of it!!! She also kept my budget in mind and made sure that I had various quotes and rates to choose from. That, by far, was the most important to me. I actually never had to speak with a vendor (aside from my venue) because she handled all the dealings for me. Seriously, she is a godsend. She was also there the day-of my wedding...making sure that all the planning and execution was on-point. Abby was an absolute dream to work with! From the moment I contacted her, she showed nothing but professionalism and enthusiasm. She readily responded to all of my emails and questions, and never seemed to be bothered when I remembered "just one more thing" I wanted to go over. Thank God "month of" didn't literally mean "month of." They were available to guide us through the whole process as soon as we hired them, 8 months before the wedding. They checked in on us and made sure we were on the right track. They answered any questions we had. They offered their suggestions - which were so valuable because I am so wedding ignorant. A little more than a month before is when they completely took over all my contacts, put all the pieces together and fill in all the details that I never even thought of. We weren't sure about the direction we wanted to take for our big day... especially with all of the details that come along with the wedding. Our venue (Speakeasy on State) recommended us to go with Abby Lee Events (ALE) to ensure everything would be smooth since they frequently work with each other. Abby and her team were extremely helpful with the entire process! They helped us with finding out our style and developing it even further to make it the wedding of our dreams. We had 3 in-person meetings, and we left each meeting feeling less stressed. In fact, they reassured us that everything was going according to plan and that we were right on schedule. All of this made us excited for our big day! We had a few hiccups during our engagement season and had to make a bunch of changes to the plans (none of which were because of ALE). I went to Andrew and Sarah's wedding in 2017! It was at the SpeakEasy on State St Redlands, CA! Decorations and entertainment were on point. Everything was run perfectly with good music and dessert by local ice cream shop, A La Minute! I had to get that a few times. The ceremony was intimate and cool because I've never been to a wedding where the bride and groom stood in the middle surrounded by their family and friends! I wasn't even going to have a wedding coordinator for my wedding but I'm so so glad I did. You NEED a wedding planner because let me tell you, your bridesmaids, parents, family's "help" will not suffice. You need someone as professional as the SugarPlum&Co team to organize your wedding. Abby and I went to the florist meeting, Abby and Krammer went with me and my mother in law to the food tasting, had to FaceTime us to more meetings (because we live so far away) and they will accommodate as best as they can. I am still in awe of my wedding day and I have to say that hiring Abby Lee Events to help plan my wedding was the BEST investment that I made during this whole process. From the get go, Abby was there when I needed her. At the very beginning of the planning process, she sent me a wedding checklist with a timetable showing me approximate due dates for things that needed to be completed such as selecting vendors, trying on dresses, mailing out RSVPs and/or invitations, etc. I love checklists and I liked knowing what I could do, so I knocked them out as soon as I could. When it came down to the details, like budget, decorations, vendors, etc, Abby kept me on track and gave me wonderful, honest recommendations. After hiring my vendors, Abby was the one who communicated with them on everything aside from payments. I always felt like Abby was available to me. She handles a lot of events so I never expected a response right away, but in my experience with her, I've never gone more than 24-48 hours without a response (give or take). As the wedding drew closer, we communicated more often and we had the opportunity to meet up in person if I wished. Abby used Google Sheets and Google Docs so it was nice that we could easily communicate that way too. The day of the wedding, Abby showed up at my hotel room where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready and went over little details with me, kept us on track in terms of time management, talked to our photographer and videographer, etc. I didn't expect to see her until we arrived at the venue but Abby sent me a text that morning that she would be over and we were able to run through the time table for the day which was really helpful. I didn't hear about this until after the wedding, but apparently despite the fact that we were guests at the hotel, we still needed a permit of sorts to allow photos and video on their premises. I didn't know that and Abby handled it. This girl gets things done. I believe my wedding day was flawless and even though it was pretty recent (within a week), my husband and I are still raving about how amazing our wedding was and how we had such a great time. I fully believe that this would not have been possible without the hard work of ALE. If you're looking for a wedding planner or day-of-coordinator, you cannot go wrong with ALE.
