I got married in Orange County over two years ago, and something that I still think about on a regular basis is what an amazing job the RuffleEffect team did. We used them as the day-of coordinators and the florist, but wow, they were really working with me the entire process up until and through the big day. There are so things I can say but I want to focus on three areas: 1) Prepared and organized. In the planning stages from being familiar with our vendors and communicating with them (we got married at Ranchos Las Lomas and had 24Carrots catering), to sending back and forth planning documents and scheduling details, Casey and Ally were just so good to work with. I am very particular about things but I trusted them throughout the process and felt like nothing was going to fall through the cracks. 2) Amazing florist. I'm so glad we also chose them as our florists; everything turned out exactly as I had hoped from the ceremony arch to the table centerpieces to a custom head table structure we had made. They did not skimp on the flowers at all and they were so good about mock-ups in photo form during the planning process and then an in-person mock-up of the centerpiece to make sure everything was how we wanted it to be. And most importantly, they came in a really good price! 3) So much help in the decorations. One of the reasons why we ultimately chose RuffleEffect is they have a great catalog of items to choose from (check out their "rentals" section on their site) that they can supply to you for free in their packages including candles, frames, table numbers, and some signage. I wanted to create my own custom backdrops and signage, and they helped bring some of the wood panels, create many of the decal stickers, and offered to help with setting up at no extra cost, which is really unheard of. I think that point of them always wanting to do more and wanting to make your vision come to life is really what Casey excels at. She has such a joyous personality that makes it relaxing to work with, really cares about your day, and hires a great team. We initially signed up with The Ruffle Effect for their design and floral package, and adding the design component was one of the best decisions we made. It kept everything beautifully cohesive compared to trying to handle the design and signage on our own. Casey and her team truly have a gift for understanding a vision--even when we struggled to describe or show exactly what we had in mind for our wedding. We went through a few iterations of the design and floral plan, and throughout the process, the team was open to our input while offering expert guidance to ensure everything would come together seamlessly. It always felt like they genuinely wanted to capture our hopes for the day while keeping everything cohesive and polished. As for planning, we initially planned to rely on our venue's day-of coordinator to save on costs. However, about six weeks before the wedding, during our final details meeting, we realized that approach wasn't going to work. My wedding day was a dream come true!! Casey and her team killed it in so many areas, but the flowers were by far the biggest thing that took my breath away. Every area that flowers were involved looked amazing. I had guests that couldn't believe the floral detail. I had shown pictures of what I had thought I wanted and now I don't think there ever has been a better looking ceremony. She referred us to the most amazing photographer and she made my dreams comet to reality. There were issues that came up, but if you think your wedding is going to go off flawlessly than tell me how that works when you fly off on a unicorn over a rainbow of butterflies because there will always be something that goes off, but what Casey and her team did was make sure that it was taken care of before I heard about it, and what a blessing that is!! One of my absolute favorite parts of our wedding process was getting the opportunity to work with Casey. She is an absolute joy to be around and extremely professional. It's so unfortunate that we have to write this review. We just wrote stellar 5-star reviews for all of the vendors for our wedding. All but this one. We used this company for Floral as well as Wedding Planning. The Florists did a good job, however, with mishaps that were nearly disastrous. The wedding planning was absolutely awful: We hired a month-of wedding planner that was on our venue's 'preferred vendor list'. At the beginning, they were thoroughly responsive through email and phone call. But once the deposit was paid, it was so hard to get a hold of the designated planner. Each email and phone call had to be followed up by more emails before a response was given. From then on, it was lots of lies and excuses. 1. After I was told all the vendors have been contacted and given the timeline, at least 3 vendors contacted me and asked if we had a planner because they hadn't heard from anyone. When this was brought up, of course it was the vendors' fault. 2. The plan was for the florist/planner to deliver the cake-flower to the bakery the day before the wedding in order for the bakery to decorate the cake. She then texted and said her assistant will deliver the flower before coming to the rehearsal, which we agreed to. At the time of the rehearsal I asked her if the flower was delivered and whether the bakery was OK with the size, she said "yes, it was delivered and they were OK with it". (I saw a pot of orchids in her car as we were leaving but thought maybe they were for another event). As soon as we left the venue, I got a call from the bakery who was wondering when the flower was going to get delivered!!! I texted the assistant and she said the main planner "couldn't deliver it because there was an accident on the road and traffic was backed up." Really? In Laguna Hills? 3. We asked them to get some flower pedals to be thrown by the guests after the ceremony. We intentionally coordinated this with a specific wedding song and asked our DJ to ask the crowd to do this for a camera moment. The florist turned this request down because we hadn't paid for the pedals ahead of time. OK reasonable. So the morning of the wedding, my brother in-law and I (the bride!) rushed to Trader Joe's to buy 4 bouquets of roses. We brought them to the venue and I asked the main planner to execute the plan. She confirmed and gave me reassurance that she will give the pedals to the guests sitting at the aisle ahead of the ceremony. Except that she didn't!!!!!! So the moment comes, and the DJ asks people to grab flowers from next to their aisle seats to throw, and people looked at the centerpieces that were used to decorate the aisles and started pulling the flowers out of the centerpieces!!! I'm pretty sure I have the look of horror on some of my photos. Absolutely unacceptable. Then between the main planner and the assistant, they went on to lie even more about who was at fault (one told me my sister had told them not to execute that plan, and one told my sister I had told them not to execute the plan). You see the trend here... 4. We didn't get back some of the decorative stuff we handed to them the day before the venue, which they told us they would collect at the end of the night and return to us. For one of the items that was left behind, they specifically said they had found it and we could pick it up. When we asked when and where to pick up, they said they're out of town for another event and will mail it. After 2 weeks of waiting and multiple unanswered messages, they finally responded and said they didn't have it. Lying trend continues... Overall, extremely poor wedding planning services. Actually no planning was involved, other than coming up with a timeline that was modified by us anyways. All texts and calls and emails were answered with extreme delays, and mostly the answer was 'no'. Extremely non-responsive, and a great source of unnecessary stress to be honest. As Florists, they are OK: -Good arrangement -Nickel and diming, and resistant to opinions. They actually say you can't see the arrangements ahead of time because "even if you don't like it, we won't make any changes" (which is crazy given that my sister's wedding florist specifically asked them to look at the arrangements ahead of time so they could alter as needed) -They told us we get to keep all the centerpieces (minus the vases of course) but when my mom and aunt asked to take the flowers, they were told they can't. Reusing somewhere else maybe? It's disappointing that a venue as reputable as Rancho Las Lomas is even recommending them. read more

As we began planning our April 2022 wedding, we weren't sure if we needed a coordinator but oh my gosh, we are SO happy we found Casey & the Ruffle Effect. The whole team: Casey, Ally, Lauren were an absolute dream to work with. They were extremely responsive, professional (and fun!) and made sure that all questions did not go unanswered. The day of the wedding was seamless - everything was ON TIME and they made sure that me, my husband and my entire bridal party were taken care of. Our stress levels on the day-of were at an absolute minimum and that is largely due to the fact that we had so much trust in the Ruffle Effect team - they are true experts in their craft. I met Casey over the phone and as soon as I heard her pleasant and "smiling" voice, I knew she was the kind of person I would love to work with for my son's wedding. Hiring Casey by far was probably the best decision of my life (aside from picking the right groom!). She literally made my wedding day stress-free! I knew she was in charge and I was able to enjoy the whole day! She went above and beyond what we hired her for, but that only shows her professionalism and dedication.
