I had a great experience with Mele Amore Events and especially with our lead planner, Nicole. Nicole was an absolute angel and amazing to work with! From day one she was always professional, organized, and communicative yet super friendly and personable. It felt like we were planning our wedding with a good friend who really cared about us. If it's within your budget to hire a professional wedding planner, I absolutely recommend you do it. For me, I was willing to cut our budget elsewhere to afford a wedding planner because I don't enjoy planning parties and had no interest trying to DIY plan one of the most important events of my life. Looking back now, hiring Mele Amore was the best decision we made. I had a family emergency come up the week of my wedding - my dad was hospitalized days before the wedding and wasn't able to attend. It was a scary and stressful time and I hope no other bride ever has to experience anything like that, but it's in moments like these where having a professional planner proves to be invaluable. It was such a relief to know that Nicole had all the wedding details handled so I could just focus on my family situation and on mentally preparing myself for the wedding day despite the sadness I felt. My dad obviously had a lot of roles in the wedding, but we were able to scramble to make alterations, which I thank my wonderful family and Nicole for stepping up and helping with. Nicole made all the necessary adjustments to the schedule and notified all of our vendors of the situation, so everyone was sensitive, kind, and comforting to me on the wedding day which really helped me feel better. It turned out to still be a beautiful and joyful day despite the circumstances and I am able to look back on my wedding day fondly - for that I will forever be grateful to Nicole and Mele Amore! Nicole was able to deliver the wedding we wanted within our discussed budget and I am still stunned to this day on how beautiful our florals and decor looked with the budget we had! The owner, Michelle, handles the designs and totally nailed the look we were going for: cozy, romantic, and luxe without being over-the-top or gaudy. I had so much fun going through mood boards and the mock-up with Nicole, but the actual reception design day of completely exceeded our expectations. On the wedding day, we had Nicole plus two assistants with us the entire time. They were all so great at keeping everything on schedule, getting people to where they needed to be, and stopping family members from mobbing us to take a million phone photos. When my husband and I had to postpone our wedding due to covid, we ended up changing venues, so I reached out to Mele Amore. I had already pretty much planned my entire wedding and had to start over with the new venue. I was nervous about what packages were offered and if we would be able to find something that worked. Luckily for me, Michelle was extremely flexible and created a custom package for us and it was smooth sailing from there. Everything about working with Michelle was a dream. I am an extremely type A/perfectionist/overly organized person and was nervous to annoy my new planner, but Michelle made me feel so comfortable and was always on the same page as me. Any requests or ideas I had, she could see my vision. I'm sure a lot of couples are concerned about wedding budget, but Michelle was extremely conscious of our budget, prioritized our wants and needs and even made sure there was flexibility in our budget while still getting everything we wanted for our wedding day. A lot of people told me that planning the wedding would be one of the worst parts of the wedding, but I had the complete opposite experience. I enjoyed every minute of it, thanks to Michelle. Nicole Fuller was our Wedding Planner and she was an absolute gem sent from heaven and we were so lucky to be matched with her. She was so "on it" from the moment we hired her - giving recommendations, helping keep us on track with wedding planning, and making sure every part of our day went absolutely perfect. I loved that I was able to "level" with her and get her honest opinion or advice on certain situations - she seemed more like a trusted friend or family member than someone who we hired, but still so professional and polished. My mom and I loved her from the start, but the icing on the cake was when my dad told us (after the wedding) that Nicole came to check on him multiple times in the evening to say "Just a heads up, your FOB speech is coming up, are you ready?" or "The father/daughter dance is next, just an FYI!" and that just blew us away - that level of service!! "Mele Amore saved my marriage before I even got married." - my husband. We laugh now, but Mele Amore made our big day the success it was. We cannot list enough positives about working with them, but a few that come to mind are professionalism, eye to detail, and a ton of wedding knowledge! Leading up to the wedding, Nicole was very attentive and responsive, and it was evident that she truly cared about making the day as perfect as possible for us. this is long overdue... sorry LanAnh! My sister and my brother in law got married December 2014 and I remember my sister telling me that she had gotten a wedding coordinator for everything, who would basically help her from start to finish and she did. I remember they had meetings together to catch up, to update each other, etc etc, phone calls, emails, texts, everything, LanAnh was basically there every step of the way. I finally got to meet LanAnh during the wedding rehearsal. She was so calm, so patient with everyone, and if anyone has met my parents, OMG girl I give you props for answering their questions, the same questions LOL, with patients and kindness like you did. Never once did I see her get frustrated! She's superwoman! Anyways, on the day of the wedding, I never felt so calm and relaxed in my life. Even my sister was like, are we still on schedule? We had so much down time to just enjoy the moment and it was just because LanAnh and her team made everything on that day run super smooth! I've been in my share of weddings and we've heard everything that's going on from the guys are running late, to the flowers aren't here yet, to the limo company made a mistake and sent the wrong one, etc etc etc, the wedding planner had to come and update the bride, we had no idea if there was any drama. I contacted LanAnh Ho almost immediately after we got engaged because I had gone to 2 other weddings that she planned and absolutely loved her style. And the brides spoke so highly of her. After our first meeting, we wanted to lock her in for our date (12-13-14) before another couple did!! It was definitely the best decision ever. You always hear about how planning is so stressful, but I honestly never felt any bit of stress because LanAnh took care of so much for us. Since I don't one creative bone in my body and since I work 6 days a week, I relied on LanAnh to help style the wedding. I am not a DIY bride at all. So she presented a few style boards and she hit it right on the nose in terms of what we would have liked. We loved the style board and vision she created for us and she recommended the best vendors in the business. She organized all the meetings with the vendors, reviewed all the contracts before we signed, kept us on track with the timeline and our budget. Since I'm clueless with style and stuff, I literally would text/email her with the most annoying questions and she would get back to be quickly and never made me feel like I ever bothered her. She answered all the questions I had and was always patient with us. On the day of the wedding, LanAnh and her team took such good care of us and handled all of the decorating and set up and even still made sure me and my bridal party was fed and hydrated. She wasn't just a great planner, she became a great friend. :) - Wedding planners are a must...and Mele Amore can deliver a stress free wedding! - I felt like I was her only client and never felt that she was too busy for me When my husband proposed to me, we were working full time and finishing our 3rd year of business school. We had very little free time and having a planner was a priority for us. When I started looking for a planner, I wanted to find someone that I connected with and one that I felt that i could trust to create a wedding that was a reflection of the both of us. When I first talked to LanAnh, I was "interviewing" a handful of other planners. None of the planners really meshed with my personality and I was hesitant to move forward with any of them. LanAnh was the last planner that I interviewed and after our phone call, I knew that I had to work with her! Once we started our planning sessions, LanAnh was there for me every step of the way. She guided me and provided a lot of great advice! Between her connections with various vendors to providing me with best practices, I felt comfortable going with a lot of her recommendations. Also, it was a great feeling that I never felt that I hired her to do a job or a set of tasks...instead, I felt that we established a partnership and she always went above and beyond to help us create our perfect wedding. During the 10+ months of planning, I never felt stressed about planning and I was surprised how easy this all was. (Everyone advised me that wedding planning was really difficult!!). LanAnh did an amazing job with the designs (somehow bringing all pinterest pin's into our wedding) and always kept my budget in mind. At the end, she didn't go over my budget and I still had the wedding that I wanted! (She's a genius when it comes to re-working the budget and staying on track!!). I should note that I had expensive taste when it came to the wedding and a lot of my wants were outside of my price range. However, LanAnh never told me that it couldn't be done and she got creative and figured out ways for me to get what I wanted. For example, I really wanted all ghost chairs and instead of saying "No, its not in your budget", she made other suggestions such as mixing clear chiavari chairs with the ghost chairs! All I have to say is...genius. I got my ghost chairs and it looked put together. On the day of the wedding, we were on time and I never felt rushed (Yay LanAnh and Team! Our MeleAmore team was LanAnh, Liz and Tiffany (on the day of), and we couldn't have been happier! They made the entire day stress free and run so smoothly. Leading up to the big day there were meetings to go over the finest details and ensure that all the "i"s are dotted and "t"s crossed - all stuff that we didn't know to think of. They coordinate communication with the vendors so that the last couple of weeks, I didn't have to do much at all as the timelines, and last minute questions were all taken care of by our planners. Then, even when when you plan everything to the minute, unexpected things can happen. I couldn't have asked for a better day. The venue was decorated so beautifully. It is like a dream. Everything happened on schedule, but I never felt rushed or hurried. My fiancé and i live in Florida and got married at La Casa del Camino in Laguna Beach, CA. I knew I needed a planner, but I had no idea how much planning help I actually did need. I ended up with a Level 3 service, which was amazing. I started at their level 2, but we quickly realized I needed much more help with the design process. Michelle was available all the time. Now I think I'm going to miss talking or texting her! She guided me through the process. Helped me with vendors, but totally understood when I didn't like a suggestion so we kept looking. We stayed on budget and on time. I had some visions for how I wanted the decor and she used that plus her own to create amazing tablescapes at the venue. The vendors were organized well the day of. She even made sure I was fed :). There was plenty of flexibility built into the timeline so when extra friends/family decided to give speeches it was seamless. It truly was fantastic. Everyone keeps talking about our wedding, how beautiful, how much fun, and how well it was run by Michelle and her team. Thank you all so much for the most amazing day of my life. What they don't tell you about every great wedding, is that there is probably a LanAnh behind the scenes making it happen and making it look effortless. I felt SOOOOO incredibly lucky to have LanAnh as my wedding coordinator. Literally, I am not sure if I would have survived if it were not her. My hubby and I were fighting over the smallest details whenever wedding planning came up, because that's what you do when you're planning a wedding. In comes LanAnh, with her adorable haircut and cutest laugh, to calm everyone down and make sure everyone got what they wanted in the wedding. If you can't already tell, I have a giant girl crush on her. She was organized, helpful, and I feel like she anticipated every single thing that could have possibly gone wrong and fixed it before it was a problem. -Fake eyelashes start to fall off...no worries. LanAnh knows how to put those on and has eyelash adhesive on hand. -Dress needs to be steamed quickly...no worries. LanAnh know show to use a steamer. -You're hungry...no worries. LanAnh is there with sandwiches for you and all your girls. -Not creative or know how to decorate your venue...no worries. LanAnh knows how to make your venue look incredible and stay true to your idea of what you want. -Officiant's iPad goes blank as you are walking down the aisle with your dad...no worries. LanAnh fixes it without you ever knowing. (I only found out AFTER the wedding) -Not sure where your marriage license is after the wedding...no worries. LanAnh has it, with everyone's signature and mailed it for us. There are so many other things that she did throughout the day to make sure that our wedding ran smoothly. I'm pretty sure my mom wanted to adopt her at the end of the night. I cannot thank her or the Mele Amore team enough for everything they have done. You all made my wedding more beautiful and memorable than I could have ever imagined. Six months ago we hired Mele Amore to plan and coordinate our wedding. Two weeks ago we got married. The day went by so fast, it was such a blur. All I could really recall was a fun, happy, love filled whirlwind roller coaster ride that I didn't want to end. So if everything seemingly went so perfectly, why the delay in the review? First, I am a man. We procrastinate with everything. Second (the real reason) is that I truly wanted to digest what was put into the last six months to produce such a great wedding day. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to write a review coming off a wedding or honeymoon high, which we have not yet gone on just in case you are curious. So where do I start? Simple answer, how did we find Michelle and the Mele Amore Team...simple, yelp reviews just like you are doing now. We searched, read, laughed, and eventually found Mele Amore. Now for the fun part...'The Review' Everyone's experiences are going to be different. I firmly believe that your mindset going into something will fully dictate how satisfied you are with the results. A disappointment is the same as a wildly successful outcome, both are learning experiences. With that disclaimer out of the way, I figured that i would do my review a little differently from the norm. Instead of blabbing about how great Michelle and her team are, there are plenty of reviews on yelp that can attest to that, I am going to pick out some things from other yelper's reviews that helped us in choosing Mele Amore. " This let us know that Michelle is willing to go beyond what was asked of Mele Amore contractually. Joe E - "It was because of Michelle and Mele Amore Events that we could let go of all the stress and the concerns and enjoy our time with our family and friends. " Stress is the last thing anyone wants. We wanted someone who could help us maximize our quality time with family on our wedding day. Heidi F - "She is super detail oriented, very organized, has a ton of great ideas and recommendations for any budget wedding." Who isn't on a budget? Michelle's creativity and flexibility were the keys to executing our wedding within our budget! Tim P - "With such a HUGE WEDDING, they bought in extra staffs without charging me since they want everything to be PERFECT!!" When I stopped by the venue the day before the wedding, I saw all these extra Mele Amore team members helping to set stuff up. Michelle had them come in and no charge to us to make sure everything was done properly. Inhee K - "She and the team came to our suite before the time schedule she had made for us. She then personally said hi to every vendor and everyone and made them feel very comfortable." Face time is very important and I loved that she always wanted to have direct conversations whenever possible. Diana N - "Our venue did not allow their kitchen to be used for on-site cooking (only reheating) which we found out after we signed the contract. We hired Mele Amore to help coordinate our wedding a year ago (yes, I FINALLY remembered to write a review after all this time). It was a fabulous experience. I had done a lot of the legwork prior to hiring on Mele Amore, but it was so great to have a professional look over my planning process and give me recommendations and suggestions on tweaking to make things better. Michelle is based in Costa Mesa which was a little off-putting since I lived about an hour away from her (without traffic). I was very pleased and surprised when Michelle always offered to meet me close to where I live rather than asking me to meet at her office. The day of the wedding, I was able to just relax knowing full well that Michelle and Lan-ahn had everything under control. Was the day perfect? No, but that was more because I'm a perfectionist and things didn't always play out how I envisioned it in my head. It was not to the fault of Michelle or her team, just me being nit-picky. At the end of the day/night, I married the man that I love and that's what matters. Was I stress free? YES! There were a few hiccups, but Michelle and Lan-ahn handled them without getting me involved. They even protected my husband and me at the end of the night when we were dead tired from friends and family that wanted to party more. Michelle helped us escape to our hotel suite while Lan-ahn was the look-out to ensure no one knew where we were staying that night! :) Would I recommend Mele Amore to my friends/family? My Husband and I always knew what kind of wedding we wanted. It was always one of our topics of conversation between us in the ten years we were dating (Yeah, I know, 10 YEARS! LOL). During our 10 years of dating, we had been to many of our friends' weddings, so we had seen/witnessed every type of wedding, weddings of other cultures, etc. He finally popped the question to me after 9 years of dating/being together. So now the wedding planning ensued... We usually don't throw big parties on our own, but for our special day, we wanted it to be the most memorable, unique, super fun, not so serious, not so uptight--wedding. My Husband and I are not the most detail-oriented, organized people, so we knew that we had to get a wedding planner to guarantee our wedding was going to be a success, especially with a 250+ guest count. Not to be biased, but I can say with no reservations that our wedding was the best wedding/party my Husband and I have ever been to. Our special day went EXACTLY how we envisioned and we honestly feel that it would not have panned out that way if it wasn't for our amazing wedding planner, LanAnh of Mele Amore, Inc! It is no exaggeration when I say she is the epitome of AMAZING! She is definitely our Ms. Ah-mazing! We interviewed six wedding planners total (All in one day LOL) but when we met LanAnh, we knew right then and there that she was going to be our girl. You know those conversations you have with your best friend for 2 hours+ and when you realize how much time has elapsed, you're like "Oh my god its been two hours already?" Yeah, that was how our first conversation with LanAnh went. She became our friend from the beginning and not just a business partner. She's super chill and friendly! We had many ideas/things/aspects we wanted to incorporate into our wedding but we did not want it to be complete chaos, no flow, or method. LanAnh was able to tie in all of our wants AND made it even BETTER than we were picturing. I know this is redundant, but she honestly is Ms. Ah-mazing! We have the same style; we love her "less is more" taste. We have had family and friends tell us everyday since the wedding that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The details during our wedding were very specific to my Husband and me--and again, I am going to say it is all because of LanAnh, she made it happen. -She presented us with multiple style boards based on our tastes and preferences which helped us visualize better what our wedding would look like. This helped so much 'cause even though we had many ideas/pictures in our minds, it's different when you can actually visualize it on paper/iPad -She created multiple to-do lists for us which were such a BIG help -She reviewed all of our vendor contracts and made sure we would not go over budget -She would remind us when a vendor payment was approaching -She kept all of our vendors/wedding party on track and kept them in the know of everything regarding our wedding. All of them said she is on it and had nothing but praise for her. -She is available via text/e-mail/cell. She was always very quick to respond to all our messages/concerns and would provide her opinion if you had any questions about anything and everything. I even would text her when I would have mini drama stories, and yes, everyone will encounter that during wedding planning. She was my go to person for when I would need to vent about it and would know exactly what to say to calm me down and help me forget about the initial problem haha. She will let you know ahead of time if she will be unable to get to her phone/e-mail. The above mentioned just touches the tip of the iceberg of why we love LanAnh so much. "Fairytale" doesn't begin to describe our wedding this past weekend on 9/26/2015. Husband and I began our wedding journey about 18 months prior to our wedding date. I thought to myself, I'm crafty, somewhat organized- we have so much time, we don't need a wedding coordinator. Well fast forward to a year later, 5 months before the wedding, and I'm ready to pull my hair out. Enter Farrah Dang from Mele Amore Events. You know that feeling when you go on vacation and you just know you forgot to pack something vital. Well, I had that anxious feeling in my stomach every day for months thinking I'm missing something key to the wedding. My wedding photographer suggested I get a wedding coordinator and recommended Mele Amore Events. Farrah is so organized and on top of everything. Husband and I got married at Padua Hills Theatre. It is such a beautiful venue and I was surprised to find out that many people and vendors have never heard of this little gem. Well, Farrah was among those that had never heard of the venue. I found out later that she made arrangements with the venue to visit the site and scope things out on her own just to familiarize herself with the venue. To me, that is going the extra mile. The have different packages for how much assistance you need for your wedding. Seeing as how I had most of the vendors and miscellaneous stuff taken care of, Michelle recommended the level 1 package. Even with the smallest package, they did more than anyone could have asked for. Farrah was taking care of things I didn't even know were things. Like vendor meals, meals for the wedding party while getting ready in the morning, she even had my dad's speech printed out for him before the grand entrance. I asked my dad how he even knew who my coordinator was and he said he didn't know, "she just handed my a piece of paper and it was my speech". The things Farrah and her team did to make sure the night went as perfectly as possible were more than I even asked for. During the wedding planning process, I changed my mind so many times about everything. Farrah was so sweet and accommodating. Even after the wedding is over and all payments have been made, I'm still getting emails from her to assist in the name changing process. They really took care of my husband and I not only with details of the wedding day but also making sure we had food and snacks on the day of, and just completely managed the stress for us. There were a few things that I forgot to take care of and realized with horror on the day of, which Michelle and her team addressed and took care of for me. Can't thank them enough. Love them! Just as an aside: we hired Mele Amore initially for just the day-of-services, but ended up expanding the scope of their involvement. Hands-down the best decision of my life. Planning a wedding on the west coast while living on the east coast is not easy. I had trouble envisioning the space and how to transform the brown drab ballroom we chose into something truly unique and special. I was and still am extremely happy with how the reception space turned out- it became a totally upscale space- elegant and classy with a really glamorous feel and unique touches like our dessert bar and mirrored tables. I am still so happy about it all. Overall, you really cannot make a mistake by going with Mele. Trust me, it is SO worth it to have your sanity during such an intense time. Our daughters wedding was November 2021; postponed from December 2020 due to their event space being closed due to Covid. Even with it being such a busy year for the wedding industry and our daughter and son-in-law having to plan from out of state, Michelle SURPASSED all of our expectations when it came to their vision of their wedding day. Her industry connections and experience along with her calm, professional and sweet personality made it a pleasure to work with her. We hired her 5 months before the wedding and she made sure EVERY LAST DETAIL was taken care of. I had planned large events before and was on the fence about hiring a professional wedding planner. When starting to plan our wedding, I asked some of our married friends for their advice... I asked them what they would've done differently, what were their most memorable moments, what was really worth the money, etc. The best advice they gave us was to hire a wedding coordinator. Ladies, if you want to convince your hubbies that it's worth it to hire a wedding coordinator, just ask the question "Don't you want to be a guest at your own wedding?" We had the pleasure of working with Farrah, who is the most organized, professional, and detail-oriented sweetheart ever. She is all of my OCD dreams come true! The Day of Coordination package includes 3 months of vendor correspondence and day of coordination, but I felt like from the moment we hired them (maybe 9 months out?), Farrah was so helpful with any questions I had. She also had great vendor recommendations and went above and beyond to save us money where she could. Throughout the whole process, she was attentive, reliable, and had such a great attitude. We didn't realize how many details actually went into the wedding until we were having our final meetings with her and she broke down the itinerary to the minute! Things I hadn't even thought of, she was already one step ahead and taking care of it. Even our other vendors mentioned to us how much they enjoyed working with her, and how they appreciated her attention to detail. On our wedding day, Farrah and helper Lan Anh, were like stealth-mode swat team wedding ninjas! So... most people will write great reviews of their planners after the wedding is done, after all the trials and issues they ran into during the planning are now over. And yes, our wedding was better than we expected on almost every front; with everything set up and sorted perfectly, amazing designs and great layouts. Many of our guests said it was one of the most energetic, fun and yet organized weddings they've been to as well! However, would those same people have said the same thing during their planning process? I can say that even during our planning, Michelle and LanAnh made the process so enjoyable and fun, that in our last month of planning, my wife (I can write that now!) and I were actually a bit sad it was all going to be all over soon. Our coworkers and friends said we didn't seem stressed, and we weren't! Mele made us never have to worry about where we were with our wedding, and they were always there to provide solid feedback that showed their years of wedding planning experience. Being new to wedding planning, I had wondered before we selected Mele, if weddings even needed a wedding planner. My idea of wedding planning was... find a venue, find some vendors, tell them what I wanted, and use wedding websites with timelines and ideas to pull it all together-- and DONE! Going through it now, realistically I don't see how someone can pull it all off on their own without being stressed out the entire time. Mele has allowed us to enjoy not only our wedding day, but our entire engagement and wedding experience.
